Was not impressed by any means. From the start, there was a 45 minute wait (cheer competition). The waitress was rude. Was impatient with any questions about the paper menu, and did not seem to understand questions. Ordered Nachos x2, and a Chicken Cesar Salad and a plate of fries. The cheese on the nachos was shredded cheddar that appeared to be nuked in the microwave. With sporadic toppings at best. Ordered a side of avocado for one and they actually sprinkled it on top. Maybe 6 pinky sized cubes. The Cesar appeared ok until I noticed the red areas. Took the rest of the meal to get the waitress to refill drinks and get another piece of chicken. Then she questioned why no one ate the chicken. Go figure. I would walk around the corner to the gas station rather than eat there again. read more

I checked in at the airport Springhill Suites LATE after a long day and no food since lunch, so I was not expecting much from the hotel restaurant. I was just glad they had one, AND I was happily surprised. Open until midnight, nice decor, TONS of TVs with sports and business channels. My waitress, Liz, was good. She was professional, non-intrusive but attentive, and was very accommodating. When I asked her if they had blue cheese stuffed olives, she said, "We can." The perfect answer. They were preparing the restaurant for the next day, but she still made sure i was ok. I had the Boston Lobster sliders with Broccolini and there was a party in my mouth. The Broccolini was wonderfully seasoned with garlic, and the Boston Lobster was terrific, perfect meat to mayo ratio. Excellent meal and I will be back to try other items on the menu. read more

Tried this place at the insistence of my mom last night. We frequently eat at the location on Best Rd, but decided to give this one a chance. The hotel and the restaurant are beautiful. I definitely enjoyed the decor. I noticed that there are two menus on the website and we were given the starts and shares menu. It wasn't busy, even for a Saturday night, so we were seated pretty quickly. To start, we ordered the prosciutto goat cheese flatbread. I personally haven't eaten pork in 8 years, so we got half of it without it so that i didn't have to eat it. I am probably the biggest lover of goat cheese and arugula, so those were the most enjoyable parts of it for me. The slices were larger than I expected and the tomato sauce was a little chilled. I barely tasted the fig balsamic that was supposed to be on there. To eat, my mom and I both ordered the grilled stack. She ordered the chicken and I ordered the salmon, however we both chose to substitute the green beans for asparagus and my mom ordered hers without the olives. It took a little while for our entrees to come out, same with our appetizers, but mine came out with chicken instead of salmon! Instead of taking my entire plate back, they let me try the chicken and the vegetables and potatoes while they cooked me a piece of salmon. The chicken was okay, but I had my hopes up for the salmon so I couldn't really enjoy it. The vegetables were good and the potatoes were cooked al dente, which my mom didn't like. I would've preferred for them to be cooked a little softer too, or at least be more of a fried potato cake. When my salmon came out, it was tasty and cooked to perfection. I just wish that I could've enjoyed it from the start. For desert we tried the Georgia Pecan Tart which is atop caramel sauce and comes with a side of ice cream. My mom indulged more than I did but overall it was good! Service was.. okay. Our waitress was cool but inattentive and would disappear for long periods of time. Thankfully they charged us for a grilled chicken stack despite me getting the salmon which was $2 more as a way to rectify the error. Overall, I am not sure if we'll be back as we prefer the other location (Voya) more. read more

A sports bar at the Marriot Gateway in Atlanta is a fine establishment. It can serve as a sports bar for casual dining or if you hard to the back of the venue a slightly more refined dining experience is available via nice tables and interesting decor. You do not feel like you are at a hotel bar/restaurant when your at champions. The drink vary from beer and wine to craft cocktails. The food is excellently prepared and I have never had anything here that was yo to my standards. They serve half a chicken, fish of the day, steaks, burgers, you name it there is a dish for everyone. read more

Arrived at the airport early on a Sunday to drop a friend off for a late afternoon flight. Wanted to watch the early NFL football games but not at the airport. All sports bars around the airport were shady.....we traveled to several before we landed at at Champions which is located inside the Marriott hotel. They will validate parking! Plenty of TVs at the bar. Bar service was OK. Beer prices good. We shared the nachos w grilled chicken. Average...a few edges of the chips were burnt. Needed more cheese to make it above average. Considering the other options for sports bars near the airport, I'd say this is prob one of the best options. read more

Hey man, this has got to be the diamond in the rough. If you ever happen to be at the convention center and you're looking to get good food great atmosphere and a sigh of relief go to Champion. The staff phenomenal not only will they have actual conversation with you but they will definitely remember you the next time you come on in. The ambiance is fantastic not only does it look like a picture perfect bar but the massive TVs that you can watch the game on makes it all worthwhile. The outside sitting with the fireplaces are a great touch. Now for the food , half and half lemonade and iced tea is damn right amazing. The Bold flavors that culminate together on your tongue is enough to just go inside. The veggie burger with the sweet potato fries just goes together like peanut butter and jelly. They've done a really good job in adding different flavors to make the food unique and spectacular. read more

Unfortunately this app requires that you put at least one star or you can't post a review. That's the only reason I gave it a star at all. From the minute we sat down I knew the service was going to suck but I tried, I really did, to make the best of a bad situation. I ordered a beer from the menu and was brought a replacement that wasn't even the same type and was told they just ran out of the other one. I tried to get the name of the replacement beer but kept being told the name of the one I ordered. So I ordered a different beer and they were out of that one too and the next one I ordered was also out. By now I'm pissed and I didn't come in here thinking that an airport hotel restaurant would really even have anything worth drinking. But add to the fact that our waitress took on an average of 20 minutes to return to the table between each unsuccessful order and you've got some upset patrons. Finally I decided to just call it quits but then my waitress brings me the beer I ordered first but in a can. I thought things were starting to look up but the beer had a stamped expiration date on the bottom from six months prior. It seemed to take nearly that long to get the check and leave. If it was only about the beer then I wouldn't have written this review, my sisters order was never put in by the waitress until the rest of the food was brought out by the manager and he asked what she was having. What a waste! Call for a pizza if you have too, take an Uber or call Uber Eats. But don't settle for the lazy crap you get here!! read more

Not sure but for $33 I would expect more than 10 wings and a slice of cake. Ok the chocolate cake was tasty, but very small for the price they charge. And the wings were maybe ok. But the two together , without anything at all to drink? Food was okay but overpriced. The chicken was bland. The service was sub-par. Our waitress Elizabeth only came over a few times despite the place being practically empty. We were there for 2 hrs and waters weren't ever refilled. When we asked for utensils ( which were only a few feet from our table) the server walked away and came back after dealing with another table to make sure we had silverware, at which point we had already grabbed ourselves. Gratuity is automatically added to large parties, so I assume that's part of the reason we were treated with such disregard. Champions has great food and a good sports bar vibe. Plenty of screens showing all the games you would want to see. Staff is right on point constantly making sure your drinks are topped off. Was starving the day I went so I got a couple of items. Nachos were really good, loaded with everything nachos should have (Cheese, jalapenos, olives, green onions, salsa, guac, sour cream, chicken). Also got the Tybee Island blackened fish. Really good fish burger topped off with tarter saurce (a must try). Lastly I got a side salad (just a salad come on!). I'm shocked because I DID NOT want to eat at a hotel restaurant. So Champions exceeded my expectations. Jermeka did a great job as our waitress. The fish sandwich was probably the best I have ever had ( and we've had a lot). Good reviews for burger and wings from the kids. The only negative is the screaming spicy wings were not that spicy, but Jermeka brought some extra sauce and all was good. Champions is located in between the airport and rental car center and offers a great selection. We have held multiple team lunches there and the atmosphere is great. You have your typical bar food as well as pasta, soups and salads. The appetizer sampler, burgers, as well as salads are pretty good. I was alone and ate there because I was staying at the Marriott. The place is clean and modern looking. It doesn't give me the feel of an atypical sports bar. If it weren't for the name and a few sports themed decorations and appointments set up here and there, I wouldn't have recognized it as a sports bar. It feel's to me more like a hybrid between a Manhattan Cocktail bar and a sports bar. I was met and seated quickly, my waitress was prompt and immediately took my drink order. I ordered a soup appetizer and ribeye steak. My waitress returned quickly to inform me my soup of choice was out, so I changed it to a Jambalaya. My appetizer was served in about 10-15 minutes. It was more liquid-y than most I've had but I must say it was quite good. Very Spicy. More rice would have made it better. My steak took almost an hour to be served. My waitress knew it was taking long and kept apologizing. She blamed it on a backed up kitchen but the restaurant was only about 2/3 full. I ordered my steak Medium Well; which to me, means warm pink on the inside. When it came, it was well done. Not slightly well done but WELL done. In fact it leaned from well done to slightly charcoal, versus medium well to well. Then there's the choice of meat; it was tough. I mean eating it was like chewing on shoe leather. My perception can be a little skewered because I'm from Kansas City, Missouri and we know meat. Whether you smoke it, barbecue it, grill it or whatever, we have the best beef in the country. That being said, even for Atlanta standards, this was a poor choice of beef. I never complained about the service or food, or anything to my waitress. When I was finished, she asked me how it was; I replied, "OK". She said, "just OK", and I said yes. Assuming it was the delay in my service, she automatically offered me a discount for the delay in my meal. I politely thanked her and said it wasn't necessary. She gave it to me anyways. Actually, I'm more unhappy with them quality of my steak than with the poor service. Good food can erase a lot of poor service. I also still tipped her based on the full cost of the meal before her discount, I don't blame her for either issue. read more
