I stumbled across this place awhile ago, because I refused to go to Starbucks anymore. Hahaha. Well, I am sooooo happy I did. I absolutely LOVE this place. Their Chaggacino is the best coffee I have ever had, I am hooked. I ended up buying two bags of the Energinseng Organic Chaga Mushroom powder. The atmosphere is cozy, there are a lot of great places to sit and enjoy the beautiful view of 2nd St. The staff is friendly and the vibe is always sweet, it feels nice to be seen. I also love that the art on the walls changes too, its great to see the collections of many artists. I can't say enough good things about this place, I told all my friends about this place. Chapter 2 took over the previous spot. Honestly the rebrand and the remodel is great. It's way more inviting and its bright. Surprisingly, they have a lot of menu items to choose from including breakfast and lunch items. I tried their specialty decaf pumpkin latte, definitely one of my favs on 2nd. Another great coffee option on Second Street! Chapter II has a great vibe and really friendly staff. They recommended to me the Banana Cream Pie Latte, which was a delicious banana-y latte with vanilla wafer crunched up on top. My friends are big fans of the Vietnamese Iced Coffee here. Compared to the other coffee options on Second Street, I think Chapter II is great value for the quality and innovation of the drinks. read more

Their outdoor patio is shaded, comfortable, and offering prime seating for people watching. I ordered the Ube Latte with oat milk, a cranberry muffin, and a turkey sandwich. Unfortunately the coffee was not very good. The barista seemed new so I felt bad but messed up on the drinks we ordered. We ordered a sugar cookie latte and he gave us a cookie butter latte. After we let him know he proceeded to remake the drink but added coconut milk instead of heavy cream. When I asked him if there was heavy cream in it he blatantly lied and said there was. Instead of arguing we just took it and walked out. It is in a cute location but quality is lacking. read more

My friend got an iced latte with whole milk and said it was decent but not notable. the barista recommended him the supreme croissant which he enjoyed although messy and there was a long wait for. it was served with an unspecified dipping sauce. The atmosphere was nice - there were books to read, plants, string lights, and wall decor. the interior was small with some seating. its in a good location with lots of stores around. they have lots of specialty drinks I would love to try. One of my favorite coffee spots in Long Beach. The workers know how to build that neighborhood culture. The atmosphere is always peaceful.

I am not usually a coffee person, but every once in a while I like to indulge in a decadent coffee treat that tastes more like dessert than coffee. The black sesame latte at Chapter II is FANTASTIC. I have also tried the Nutella latte which is even more decadent, but was honestly a little too sweet even for me. If you have a big sweet tooth, you'll love it. Staff are friendly and I appreciate that they have menu items like these that you don't find anywhere else in LB. read more

My hubby and I frequent 2nd Street often on a Sunday and we've passed this coffee spot always wanting to give it a try (we've typically already gotten coffee in Seal Beach at Javatini before LB). Well today was the day tie double caffeine. My hubby got a triple shot espresso and I, the pumpkin cloud iced and a warmed ham and cheese croissant. When I say that pumpkin drink was delish, I mean I drank the large I. 2.7 seconds delish! The cold foam is hazelnut and it added such a burst of yumminess to the drink. Mmm The croissant itself was absolutely perfect. Reminded me of one in Paris, flaky, buttery and soft. The ham and cheese would've been better if spread throughout vs just in the center. Still yummy but probably wouldn't get fit $7.50. The staff were very helpful with a suggestion (pumpkin drink) and friendly as we entered and left. The place itself is decorated nicely and has many spots to enjoy your beverage at. With tables and chairs inside and out. We DEFINITELY will be back! I'm bummed the pumpkin drink is seasonal though. read more

Came here for my lunch break for a quick bite and coffee and it was cute! The decor was precious and left room for people to work/study or meet up with a friend. The coffee latte was pretty but VERY sweet. I think lining the cup with cookie butter and adding cookies and more butter on top of the cold foam was just too much. However I got the croissant sandwich which absolutely slapped. I'll totally come back for that one. read more

My espresso was rich, bold, and delicious. My wife inhaled her croissant sandwich with a gleam in her eyes. She enjoyed washing it down with the tasty pumpkin cloud latte. Needed a coffee but didn't want the usual Starbucks, so I decided to check this place out. Their menu is full of interesting choices, including a cold foam Nutella latte with hazelnut cream. It was as good as expected, maybe a bit sweet, but very refreshing. However, I docked two stars for poor customer service. There were three of us waiting, and it took a while for the service person to notice us. She seemed disinterested in helping and barely announced our orders. They don't take names, so she just called out "Cold" for mine, which I assumed was my drink since no one else moved. I don't usually rate places on customer service since I understand people have bad days, but all three workers seemed unhappy and unhelpful, which made the experience and the coffee just okay. I sat outside to escape the negative vibes inside. With so many other coffee options on 2nd St., it's not worth returning for a "meh" experience. read more
