We came here for dinner. The staff was helpful and friendly. She told us about the free house wine with 2 entree. We also got free dessert because there was a delay on one of our meals. The pizza was on point. The shrimp scampi pizza was delicious. The cross was nice and crispy with cheese melted on it. The free wine was good and the margarita was perfect. The dessert pizza was different, but pretty good. It had a drizzle of cheesecake sauce on it. Overall, the experience was wonderful. I would come back here because of the awesome service and food. I visited Chardonnay's Saturday October 5 for a friends birthday. The restaurant was packed but i was not impressed after the good things that i had heard. Our waitress was not attentive. We had to keep calling other staff to find her. I had a mojito was nothing special to start off i had the roasted beat salad i have had similar at Cappricios in providence and you could taste the roasted flavor, these tasted more like canned. I decided to go with the small plate of seared tuna with seaweed salad they should explain that it comes on top of a green salad and you get a tablespoon of seaweed salad. I get the salmon here regularly and always substitute the rice and greens with mashed potatoes and vegetables. The last time, they forgot my mashed potatoes, so I started ordering on line so that I can specify what I wanted. It was fine a few times. Homegirl has driven by Chardonnays plenty a time. She's usually going slightly too fast in her 'rari to take the time to slow down and investigate it. However, when her beloved sports car needed repair she opted for a cruise in her caddy to pass the time. She finally decided that tonight was the night to Chardonnay-nay. Let's get to it. Homegirl ordered the salmon entrée. It came with a side salad and rice. Her man ordered steak/shrimp/ scallop kabobs also with rice and side salad. Both were around $24. Now Homegirl is getting treated and greeted when she out with her man so this is really a freebie for her. However cheap she may be, Homegirl still expects some grade A fruit in her looms. Homegirl just wanted more. She started with her lightly dressed salad to get those greens in, but it was like pulling dandelions from mulch beds. They ain't never heard of a tomato? An onion? A crouton? Too plain. Moving on to the salmon. It was cooked well and was an appreciable size but the glaze tasted store bought. It was again, just okay. Then lastly we had the rice. First off, Homegirl knows how cheap rice is to purchase. She's been to Costco, she ain't no hermit. If her $24 meal comes with rice it better be the best rice she's ever had. Unfortunately it was not. It was not bad, no! It was fluffy and airy, but just tasted of butter flavor. No herbs nothing mixed in for texture. Honestly a fresh medley of vegetables would have been great, roasted butternut and sweet potato would have been nice even. At the end of the day Homegirl felt that the flavors were bland. Especially considering the cost. Homegirl doesn't even buy name brand toilet paper for her temperate tush, you think she's gonna spend the coin on this again? Mhm. It's a no from Homegirl dawg. Homegirl realizes her tastebuds are of sophistication. Her ending thoughts are these. More flavor, more texture, more depth to the food. Homegirls chapstick has more flavor than some of the bites she tasted. She also realizes that some folk like plain food. That's no shade, it's just preference. If you like lightly seasoned or plainer tasting food, than Chardonnay's May be the Labron to your James. She's not judging. Sadly this place wasn't very good. When you walk in there is a pungent smell, which I just chalked up as being a seafood serving restaurant, it's going to smell. A glass of Sterling Sauvignon Blanc generously poured was $10. The flatbread was really like a pizza - and as an app - enough for 4 people. Chardonnay's is probably my favorite restaurant in Seekonk. My husband and I frequent here often, especially when it's half price apps at the bar! We order the calamari and a pizza and it comes to the price of one meal. Food here is excellent, I would love to try some of their pricier menu options for an Anniversary or birthday. So glad I finally came here! Ended up going on a Tuesday and they have 2 for $25 Tuesday's. It's such a good deal because most of the entrees are $20-$25 and then you can add on an appetizer, salad, dessert, or even espresso martini! Prices were a bit high, but I got chicken skewers off the appetizer menu for dinner. They were amazing!!!! The only reason I gave this restaurant a 4 and not a 5, was because the restaurant only has one bathroom so a line was formed all night. Not sure why this place has so many good reviews. I have been 4 times now each time more disappointing than the last. I havr had different dishes each time, figured with so many good reviews, i may have just been on a bad day or chosen the wrong items. I have been sadly nistaken. The steeper pricing is not nearly justified by flavor, serving size nor environment. When dining in, you will not be able to hear yourself, and the music is so long that it leads to everyone raising their voices by default resulting in a dinning experience that feels more like a night club than a fine dining establishment. the food is always over cooked and obnoxiously greasy. The servers were always too busy to tend to us and the hostess last time reminded me of the snottiest of the cheerleaders in high school. read more

The food was good during me last visit Aug 2021, which was my first visit to Chardonnays since Covid. Interestingly, Chardonnay's was also my last restaurant visited on Fri before shutdown. My problem is, and this to me is a new non starter, the servers were not wearing masks. Full stop, never again here until this changes. COVID has taught us, if nothing else, the flow of droplets.... Given how close our food/drink is from the wait staffs mouths, I think that restaurant staff should ALWAYS wear masks, even when/if COVID ends. read more

We liked going to Chardonnays, the food and drinks are reliable. Service is good too. But recently when we charged our bill to a VISA we noticed an extra charge of 3.5% for using a credit card! This makes it almost 10% along with sales tax. That is not right, especially since we weren't told about the credit card fee beforehand! Since our beloved 579 Benefit St closed, we have been forced to go to Chardonnay's to use up our vast amount of gift certificates we had bought at the holidays (that's a whole other negative story since clearly the owner knew he would be closing the site and had no problem selling us $1000 worth of GC weeks before he closed the Pawtucket venue). We have tried to enjoy the Chardonnay site, but the food just isn't the same consistency as Pawtucket. We ordered our go to fig and arugula pizza only to have a wet, doughy, vinegary mess served to us. We sent it back and asked for one that was thoroughly cooked. After 15 minutes we got round two that was just as mushy and undercooked as the first one. We couldn't understand why our pizza was such an inedible mess when the people next to us at the bar ordered the same thing and theirs was the crunchy flatbread type pizza we were used to. Needless to say, we will not be ordering that in the near future. Also find the Saturday bartender slow and inattentive both times we have had her; doesn't seem able of handling the bar patrons as the waits for first drink, 2nd drink, and check were painful, yet she had plenty of time to chit chat with people on the other side of the bar. My husband and I had a gift certificate good for Chardonnays or Meritage so we opted to try Chardonnays as we haven't been there before. It's in Seekonk and as of 5pm, the place was filling up. The bar area was crowded which I attributed to happy hour deals, the parking is a hit or miss, there tends to be overflow and its across the busy road which would make me a bit nervous had I ever needed to park there - luckily we did not. They had a great special the day we were there (Tuesday) 2 for $22 where you get to choose either a select salad, appetizer or dessert plus a select entree for $22. We both opted for the grilled kebabs which normally come with a skewer of beef tenderloin and a skewer of shrimp and scallops but since my husband doesn't like shrimp and I need to go easy on the seafood as I am pregnant, we both did just beef. We also shared a Caesar salad and calamari as our appetizers. The salad was good, a bit beaver on the dressing with croutons and shaved Parmesan pieces which is always a nice treat. The calamari was good as well, a mix of tentacles and rings (tentacles make me very happy) but an odd ratio of pepper rings to the actual squid...there were a ton. The marinara served with it was tasty as well. We both thoroughly enjoyed the entrees, although the beef could have used a bit more seasoning. The menu had indicated it would be served with mixed greens and jasmine rice. The mixed greens were delicious - some romaine tossed in a very light lemon and oil vinaigrette with salt and pepper and the jasmine rice was actually more like rice pilaf, not the white steamed rice one would guess. All in all, I love a plate of meat, rice pilaf and salad (I'm Armenian, it's in my blood) so this satisfied me. By the end of our dinner it was tougher to get out of there (pay and leave) especially since they are one of the places that drops a dessert regardless if you asked for one. Met some friends at Chardonnays on Thursday after work. Half price appetizers were fabulous, we had nacho loaded and fried calamari. We sat at one of the high bar tables. The food here is GREAT. I could steal a star because they make weak drinks, but maybe that's because their Sangria is the size of my head. From the shabby outside decor, you'd never know what a hidden gem it is inside ... modern, hip and delicious. The blue cheese burger .... a juicy cheesy pile of awesome. The pizza ... beyond fantastic. Pork medallions ... amazing. Ribeye w/ onions + bleu cheese ... delish. Sangria ... ENORMOUS. I even like their green beans. What? And their california roll tempura ... I like that too. Other than their skimpy chicken teriyaki skewers, these folks can do no wrong. The crowd is mixed but upscale. Wine linens on the tables with candles, but a large, more casual bar area. Don't let that big gaudy stand-alone sign in the parking lot fool you! They might need a new logo or some updated outdoor decor, but these guys are having no trouble packing the restaurant based on the food -- you know, the most important part! read more
