While out here in Edmond, found this place on yelp. Tried it out tonight for dinner. Had a peach bellini and the 7 oz filet with baked potato and house salad. The cocktail was delicious and refreshing after a long day. The house salad with bleu cheese was yummy, perfect portioned, and the croissant added a nice touch to it. The filet was cooked perfectly to my liking, as well as the baked potato. I just didn't really dig the hardwood grilled taste. Just not for me but the filet was delicious in flavor and tenderness. We used to frequent different Charleston's locations, but for some reason, it has been a while. I was glad to see that my old favorites were still available-like the cheese fries! I had the chicken fried steak, and it was outstanding. Don't skip the glazed carrots that come with this meal; they are yummy! My husband ordered the catfish and the fried okra, which was also great. They are keeping up with safe health practices here with masks and social distancing, but the food remains the same. I won't wait so long to come back this time! read more

This was our 4th time to this restaurant in Edmond. My wife and I arrived about 6:30pm on a Friday evening. The place was pretty packed with several families waiting for tables. As usual, my wife and I chose to sit at the bar and have a cocktail before ordering dinner. There were just 2 seats available - so we got right in and sat down. The bar room was full of patrons with every seat taken. They had 3 bartenders taking care of the bar area and they were all extremely nice and accommodating. Very quick to get our first drinks and menus. In past visits we've had several of the appetizers which were all really delicious. The "shrimpcargot" is definitely recommended (think escargot but with shrimp). The spinach dip is also great. For this last visit we decided to split a large portion prime rib dinner (14 oz) which included a salad and a side. We opted for a Caesar salad and loaded baked potato. They split the salad for us which was still pretty big for each of us. It was tasty. When ordering the prime rib, I asked if they could put the rib on a grill and sear it just a bit, which they did happily. The beef was cooked just as ordered and was a very nice cut. The potato was huge and not over-baked. And the au jus was nicely done as well. All in all, a nice dinner and plenty of food for my wife and I. After several drinks each and the dinner we were easily under $150 which is about expected for the quality of food and service. We'll be back. read more

Very disappointed in the quality of food! Carry out order total $99.60. The problem with the Dynamite Shrimp order was that the shrimp was undercooked. The other problem with the food was the fries with the catfish meal. The fries were old and greasy. You know when you squeeze the fry and grease comes out? Yeah, this is how the fries were! Charleston is usually my go to restaurant because I know what I can expect with the quality of the food. This evening, they missed the mark! You ever eat somewhere ALL the time and forget to review them? That's this place for me. Every single time I've been here (at least 10 times a year) Ive had great service, great drinks and great food. There's a closer location to my house but I regularly drive out of my way to eat at this location. This particular time my friend and I met for dinner. We ordered drinks (perfect margarita for me. Extra dirty martini for her). To me the perfect Margarita here is the best hands down in OKC. Even out of the other locations. We split the shrimp escargot (this is randomly some times not on the menu but ask) and I had the filet and she had the salmon. My filet was cooked perfectly and the loaded baked potato was perfect. Salad is always 100. Her salmon was cooked perfectly as well. Our sever Cherokee was amazing and checked on us regularly. Our table was cleared as we ate and others kept our water glasses filled. We were checked on by management as well. Excellent service from everyone. On a more personal note, in Nov of 2020 I had a heart attack as soon as I walked in and was seated. The manager on duty and our server were both amazing and jumped into action quickly. A fellow customer also jumped in and helped get me to the front of the restaurant so that EMSA could reach me. I haven't eaten at a Charlestons since I worked at one in college about 15 years ago. I went for lunch today and it was just as good as I remembered. The service was great and the food came out at a decent time. I ordered the chicken and avocado sandwich. My only complaints are that my sandwich was pink in one spot, but I just ate around it. Also, I'm not sure if it was because it was lunch or if it's just this location, but it was crazy loud. We went there for a work lunch and had trouble hearing one another. My family and I come here often and we always like everything we try. A few of our staples are the oven roasted chicken, salads with creamy garlic dressing, and the Levit8 Cabernet. We always ask to sit in Hayden's section if he's working because he is a great server. The vibe is nice! I usually love coming here for the filet but tonight I didn't want to spend so much so we ordered the sirloin that was just a little less expensive. When mine came out they asked me to check for a perfect medium rare but it was very rare so they fired it some more. The steak was very hard to cut upon return but I tried to eat a couple of bits but it was full of gristle. I sent it back and was compensated but I feel they should take the sirloin off of the menu as they have the chicken fried steak that was at least good. Even with their masks on, I can tell, male AND female ... that all the servers are VERY good looking. ;- Is there something in the water here ?? ? Also, the staff is extremely NICE and ask you for your NAME and introduce themselves to you right away ? Is this mid-country USA charm or is it just common decency ? I am blown away by how considerate people are around here. What happened to the coasts of the great USA?? Why do people have to be so caustic ?!? My Cesar Salad with REAL strips of filet mignon on it ( not strip steak ) is par for the course in most medium to high end restaurants that serve beef. Why complicate beef so much ? Love them!! Charlestons on Meridan & in Edmond seem to have the best service. Food is always good no matter what I order BUT the spinach artichoke dip is the best on the planet. Now it comes with a ridiculous price & portion is a little less than I use to get so I quit ordering it. . As far as taste & preparation of the food - it's a five star but I gave them four stars because I'm mad at the portion and price of the spinach artichoke dip. lol read more

I had the chicken fried chicken, mashed potatoes and carrots. At least the carrots were good. The mashed potatoes had green onions in them. This is the only way you can get mashed potatoes here. Terrible take on a classic. There was very little chicken, mostly breading. I told the waiter that the potatoes were not good, but he didn't do anything about it. The manager seemed to want to hear only positive comments. Ambiance was pleasant. Overpriced for the quality. A side salad should not cost $9. Not recommended. Won't be back. read more

Wow, smells wonderful. Ate there jan 2024. Great. Evcept... the meat is weird texture almost slimey like that cheap meat you get im plastic roll at grocery stores. It appears they signed up for some conglomerate meat house, cheapest quality ever. But smells perfect. We give up eating there and we have gone for over dozen years. Such a disappointment. This review is a week or so old because, well, life often gets busy and I forgot to do the check-in...oops. March 20, 2021 was the date and the lady and I took mom and dad out for date night. We were all for looking forward to great food and that is exactly what we found! Charleston's in Oklahoma City, no matter the location, can always be counted on for high levels of service and food quality. This evening was no exception. We started with the spinach dip and chips. Always a "go to" for us when we're at Charleston's. It was perfect. Mom and dad shared the enchiladas while the lady has the pork chops. If you've never had the pork chops you're missing out. Plenty for lunch the next day or to share. We always like to have the leftovers for lunch on Sunday. I chose the half roasted chicken with mash and veg. Sort of sad I didn't go with the chips but I was feeling the chicken. No buyers remorse at all! The chicken was just as fabulous as my companions felt their enchiladas and chops were on this dinner out. The staff was exceptional and this goes double for our server, Macy. She was always on point with our needs as we arrived through our departure. If you are like me and often request specific servers in your favorite restaurants I definitely have Macy on my list. Tonight, for our anniversary, we decided to forgo the more expensive restaurants and dine at Charleston's. We have eaten there in the past and the food and service was great. Tonight, however, we had a very underwhelming experience. Our waiter was not trained well and ghosted us after our entrees arrived. They did not bring our salads first and my wife's salad was delivered to the table across the aisle. Our baked potatoes were a little dry so we looked for our waiter to bring us some butter, which they should have come with. Again, our waiter was no where to be found. We finally got his attention when we were half through with the meal. My wife had the salmon, which she said was good. I ordered a Hawaiian ribeye steak that was tough and grisly. I have never had a medium rare steak that tough before. To top it off the steak cost $48. I don't usually write poor restaurant reviews but considering A $150 tab for two entrees and 4 glasses of wine they need to step up their game. read more
