Needing something quick and easy so I went here order a Korean steak sandwich. I waited 25mins from the time I placed an order. The sandwich cost about $7 plus $0.75 fee. They charged $0.75 credit card fee for order under $10. Small size sandwich with small portions of meat. The meat is mediocre, I only taste the mayonnaise. I do like the crunchy toasted bread thou. So we went in and got smoothies, I got Avocado and she got Durian (yum) It was a little later were we decided if we wanted to try out the food there, and I was craving some Banh Mi's. I ordered the Pork roll with pate (BM5), and my friend got House special smoked prime beef brisket(BM8). The total of both banh mi's came out to be about $16 dollars, which I would say is pretty pricey. The sandwhiches are on the smaller size, and not stuffed. Mine tasted pretty good. but i feel its hard to mess up on mine. My friend's on the other hand was tough and not as expected. There was a lot of fatty parts, so it was more like a pork belly instead of a steak?....maybe they messed up. I came here to grab some Vietnamese sandwiches for a picnic. I got their grilled pork and grilled chicken. The pork was very good, well seasoned and not too fatty (although, I do wish they would put a little bit more meat). I didn't eat the chicken so I can't comment on that one....I also ordered their jasmine milk tea. It comes with 3 free toppings, all for $5.25, what a great price. Not bad. I wanted to spend some quiet time on my computer while sipping some cold drink so I came in here. Ordered chicken banh mi and boba drink. Surprisingly good. I like my sandwiches a bit warm and I was happy the sammy I got was actually warm. There were only a few tables, not totally comfy but the place was empty when I came in so I can't complain. I should have read more reviews before ordering spring rolls because I am so disappointed. I paid $5.25 for some thinly cut shrimp on lettuce and vermicelli. Most spring rolls I've had usually have more protein (pork). I don't believe this was worth $5.25 :/ I also ordered 2 BM1 grilled pork sandwich and 1 BM8 prime beef brisket sandwich. The grilled pork was alright, but yet again, not enough meat, pickled veggies, and sauce. I also would like to point out that it took 19 minutes (yes I counted) for my order to be ready. This review has been long overdue. I've been here a couple of times, but I've been holding off on reviewing this place because the owner is always so nice that I feel guilty for leaving a bad review. I ordered the house special banh mi (grilled pork) ($6) and the smashed avocado ($5). The banh mi had a good pork to sandwich ratio, the meat was not too fatty, and it was really fresh. I would definitely order this again! I was not a fan of the smashed avocado. I've ordered it 3 times because I always forget that I don't like it here. I usually order smashed avocado from Bambu (Hostetter location makes it best). At Bambu, the smashed avocado is thicker, has visibly more avocado + jellies, and feels a lot heavier. The dessert doesn't slosh around in the cup. Che-Lo's smashed avocado was just made... differently and I wasn't a fan of it. It's A LOT more liquid, has significantly less avocado in it, and has a bunch of coconut flakes(?) and other jellies mixed into it. The consistency and texture of it is more like a dessert soup than an "avocado-with-every-bite" dessert. I'd probably try a different drink at Che-Lo, but had to leave this review to remind myself to stop ordering the smashed avocado from here. read more

Have come here a number of times since COVID began. I've ordered there, picked-up, and had them delivered. SO excited whenever I see fish cake banh mi on the menus. While super delish, the sandwiches have been at times inconsistent. One time, I swore it was the best I ever had. Another time, seemed as if they ran out of some of the veggies and were putting scrapes in. Another time, that forgot half my sandwiches. But we hadn't left yet, so we went back to grab them. Terrible experience. Avoid at all cost I would not recommend this place to any of my family and friends. Came here first time with my mom and the owner Vietnamese lady was extremely rude, condescending and unprofessional to us. I asked to check on the order after waited for a while, the lady straight up shouted at my face saying I have no idea you have to wait. I asked again after a few mins and got even worse attitude. I told her I really needed to go I was in a hurry and wanted to cancel the order. She refused to do anything and let us waited even longer. I was pissed and said you gotta let me either cancel now or give us the food otherwise we call police. She said go ahead and ignored us. Chicken sandwich $4 - chicken was dry and so was the sandwich. Aiya! Honey milk tea you can get with 3 free toppings $4. Problem was too much ice, too sweet, and not much toppings. Suppose to shake it, but can't do that too much because too much ice! I got some fruits for the toppings, they didn't have pineapple for some reason, didn't tell me and just put something else without asking me. Took forever to get my sandwiches and drink - over 15 minutes and I was the only one there at the time. Skip this place, not worth the cost. My total was over $12. I ordered a lemongrass chicken sandwich with an egg and asked for a Vietnamese coffee with very lite ice. The coffee was made with full cup of ice, so I asked for a spoon to take some out on my own. The lady was very mean and rude and said they don't have any spoons and said I should take it back to home and take the ice out. The sandwich doesn't taste well either.
