I ordered from Checkers about a year ago when I had a Groupon deal and had a strange experience with the driver complaining to me about how Groupons were cutting into their profits while I was trying to pay him. Not the best customer service experience given that no one is forcing you to offer a Groupon. They have a deal up on Restaurant.com right now for $15 towards a $30 order (you pay $6 for it), so I figured I'd give them another try. I placed an order for pickup on the site Eat24 around 8:00 on a Tuesday night. I ordered a 16" of their California Vegan pizza (usually Daiya cheese, broccoli, peppers, onions, tomatoes--but they were willing to sub out peppers and onions for double mushrooms without any extra charge) for $19.65 and a 12" cheese pizza with bacon for $10.95. The site tells you a recommended pickup time based on info that the restaurant provides, which for me was 10-30 min. I was really impressed but erred on the side of caution and got there after 30 min had passed...only to find that my pizza hadn't even gone in the oven yet. The staff were really nice and apologized, saying they were slammed with business that night. I then sat and waited for another half hour, which made me super late to the movie night with my fiance that I was trying to rush to. From the time I placed my order, it took me double the time that the restaurant estimated to finish my pizza. This just felt irresponsible to me because it's not like they didn't have my phone number to let me know about the delay. With that kind of unforeseen wait, I would have expected some kind of discount on my bill. Both my fiance and I enjoyed our pizza, but I was disappointed at their miserly definition of double mushrooms. I'm a little glad I was picking up and not eating in, as it's not kept the cleanest and definitely has a "hole in the wall" type of feel. But the appearance didn't necessarily speak to the quality of the food; another customer who was inside the restaurant waiting for his order kept telling me that Checkers has "the best pizza in town." While I was very impressed that they offered a vegan pizza, I felt like my overall experience here was lackluster. read more

I like Checkers because there is no delivery fee. That's how pizza delivery should be...better tips for drivers that way! They stay open late , the pizza is always good. Last night I ordered online a tuna grinder & chicken parmesan. The chicken parmesan arrived a chicken cutlet with lettuce, mayo etc. I would have just eaten it but my drunk psycho wife called them up & they corrected the order. The whole time I was thinking I hope they wouldn't spit in it lol! But seriously want to apologize to the staff there if my drunk wife was out of line. Easter evening and not too many pizza places were open but checkers was. Went because the reviews were good and it was close. Dave and crew was nice, pizza tasted good and was reasonably priced. I ordered over the phone and asked for a vegan pizza with half green peppers and onions and the other half with jelapeno and onions. I am really happy to have found a pizza joint with vegan pizza. Sauce tastes good and crust tastes better than chain restaurants. I feel like the pizza is missing something so maybe next time I will try their vegan classic which has a lot more veggies on it. Since I moved to Manchester a year ago, I've had a really hard time finding good pizza in the area...until now. Thank you, Checkers, for making a pizza I would order again! I loved the BBQ chicken pizza I ordered for delivery. I found it to be very tasty - nice crispy, flavorful crust with a good amount of meat and cheese. My only criticism would be that it lacked the amount of sauce I would want, so I will certainly order it with extra sauce next time. It was a great value for a pretty large pie ($20 for a 16"). I ate on it for 4 meals and delivery was expeditious! :) I'm looking forward to trying more of the specialty pizzas. If you're wanting pizza in the Manchester area, I would definitely recommend giving Checkers a go! read more

Love Checkers Pizza it's the perfect sauce to crust ratio. The location is a little hidden but most hole in the wall places are. Located right near MCC I'm sure this place gets some traffic on a Friday night :) I have never had a bad delivery or pickup here, ordering mainly through the Eat24 app on Yelp and have always had my food be hot and ready regardless of the method. The staff is always really nice and while I don't ever see anyone in there it doesn't mean they don't do a good in house business. I'd assume they're more of a takeout and delivery joint but all in all two thumbs up. read more

What a terrible experience!! I ordered in for a night in, after an hour I called to check on the status and the order was never even placed! I replaced my order and they took an hour to deliver, a total of TWO hours! My cheeseburger grinder was burned to crisp, the fries were probably the worse fries ever, and my 12oz can of soda was forgotten. The delivery guy felt bad and stated he'd come back and bring TWO 2L sodas and a cheesecake for the inconvenience and that too took another hour and he still forgot the cheesecake! Hands down my favorite pizza joint in Connecticut. They are open late til like 1-2am, and also deliver late. The pizza here is so GOOD. Even though I've only tried their Chicken bacon ranch pizza, it's AMAZING. If you're reading this, please order it and give it a try. I am literally hooked on this pizza that I almost order it every time when I call for delivery. The other day I finally decided to order something else besides the pizza, so I got cajun and garlic parm wings, with a 6 inch italian grinder. Solid pizza, no New Haven competitor but for a quick deliver place it's solid. We got the chicken bacon ranch which was surprisingly very good. The bacon they use is fantastic, great taste kinda smokey and a good crunch. Also tried a combo, it was ok but the cherry peppers were to hot and it ruined the pizza for me. Been here 3 times and got the same pizza every time which is there 3 Cheese. I highly recommend that pizza. Pizza is small thin slices but this pizza packs a lot of flavor. The crust is lightly crispy and flaky and it's great. This pizza is very greasy though not going to lie but what can you expect it's pizza. I would say price to portion ratio is average. There is a very good reason that Checkers is so busy...there food is awesome! I only recently discovered Checkers (even though I only live about a mile away) and I am sure glad I did. The wings are outstanding and so is the pizza. The owner is sweetheart who took the time to console me about my recent loss of one of my dogs and gave my son an ice cream sandwich while he waited on Super Bowl Sunday. Ordering a medium cheese pizza and a large mozzarella sticks to pick up at 10pm on a Sunday night I obviously was skeptical of the quality and speed of service. Thankfully upon arrival I was greeted by a friendly staff that seemed well prepared and a clean kitchen. My pizza was just coming out of the oven and they waited to drop my sticks so they would be perfect temp and not soggy. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of pizza which was what you would expect from a typical pizza joint. Good thin but fluffy crust with a bit of sweetness to the dough. Cheese and sauce ratio, on point, and the mozzarella sticks were crispy and the cheese melted to perfection. I am beyond impressed with this place and will definitely be back read more

I've been coming to checkers for the better part of three years now and the food never disappoints. However the woman working the front on May 1st was extremely rude and dismissive. I got there to pick up my order while she was receiving an order over the phone so I waited for her to be done, no rush. As soon as she was done she looked at me and proceeded to take the person behind me. After him she takes the woman behind that customer. At that point I was gonna lose it but I kept my cool. Once she was done with her she glances at me and decides to go talk to the guys working in the back. If it weren't for one of the guys noticing me I probably wouldn't have ever been acknowledged. The guy in the back did ask her if I was all set and she didn't even acknowledge him. Maybe I look like an ex of hers but that's no excuse for her behavior. I thought I would like this place because of the reviews! We ordered 2 subs, a buffalo chicken pizza, and wings. Per my boyfriend, the sausage sub was pretty good. I asked for no tomato or mayo on my sub and it came filled with both. I called the restaurant and whoever I spoke to was very nice (+1 star for that) and said they'd reach out to the delivery service we used for a refund, but it looks like that didn't happen. Best "cheese slice" in town- I moved here in February and have tried every pizza in Manchester. I found Checkers by mistake. This is absolutely the best pizza. The food here is good! HOWEVER multiple times the delivery here has been awful. We ordered food and waited 1 hour and 20 minutes...with no delivery. When I called to check on the status of the delivery the woman who answered the phone was SO rude, short one word answers, and she informed me the food was going to be leaving shortly and that they were very busy. She then HUNG UP with no goodbye or anything. The man then delivered our pizza with no words and left. Only one experience with delivery - Ordered a specialty pizze with multiple meat and pineapple on it. I ordered the Spinach Rigot pizza. Meh. The ingredients tasted fresh, not processed, so I would give 5 stars for that. However, the crust was very soggy. It had more cheese than anything. Way too much. The overall taste was very bland. I think it needed less cheese, less spinach, more sausage and more sauce, for a better balance of flavor. We also ordered mozzarella sticks.
