Maybe it was just a bad day for Cheddar's because I've been to this location once before and other locations a few times and never had a bad experience. This past visit left me feeling melancholic. The place was packed, though we didn't have a wait to be seated. We did wait a long time for our food, and when our food arrived, it came in 3 different visits from food runners, which left us all staring at each other until all of the food arrived. My friend ordered soup that was literally cold - not even lukewarm. They gladly took it back and replaced it with a new bowl, but even at that she had to wait several more minutes for the rest of her order. I ordered the Napa Chicken Ciabatta that had mayonnaise (that was not listed in the description of the sandwich), and was one of those sandwiches that fall apart and slide out the sides after taking the first bite. I ended up eating the sandwich in layers to avoid a huge mess. Even at that, the sandwich was mediocre. I ordered the broccoli cheddar casserole for a side, and it was quite tasty. In the past I've ordered their chicken tenders, which were awesome, but I'm trying to avoid fried foods as much as I can allow myself. I feel like maybe I would have been better off splurging on what I know to be good than trying something new and somewhat healthier. I'll probably go back to the Mount Juliet Cheddar's at least once and give them another try, because my previous visit wasn't bad, but I don't know that I would give them too many more chances. read more

I don't get what all the rage is. Food is average. It wasn't cold and the portions are big, but it's just blah. Service was fine but average. Our umbrella at our table didn't work nor did the lights by our table, so it got a bit dark. We ordered cheese fries (huge plate that you could split with at least 6 people), chicken tenders (meh) and ribs. My sister, son & I visited this location last week and enjoyed everything! The server, Mark (sp) and his trainee (forgot her name, sorry) were very accommodating, friendly & efficient. We didn't have much time for lunch and they got us in & out quickly. The food was delicious too! My son loved the shrimp & my sister's steak was cooked to perfection! Cheddar's is a pretty good lil restaurant especially if you are ballin' on a budget. Regardless of what you order, you will get a good portion size and pay under $15. They always have a packed dining room so they must be doing something right. I've never received horrible service there, which is surprising because for some reason I attract bad service when I go out. Ha! The food is good but I wouldn't recommend coming here if you are on a healthy kick. Aside from a salad there isn't much on the menu for health nuts but they have some great comfort food dishes that will fill you up & make you ready for a nap. I suggest trying the New Orleans Style Pasta dish or the Chicken Fried Steak. When all else fails get the chicken tenders, they're some of the best around and you get a mountain of a plate. For dessert you may wanna try the Chocolate Fudge Sundae Cake. Other than that, the bar is the only other stuff I've tried. Lol. If you like coconut try the Cheddar's Pain Killer. Great food at a great price. I love to order their vegetable plate, (as it comes with either soup or a salad). :-) Everything has a really delicious flavor. Needed to purchase some items for my upcoming 1/2 Marathon which took me to the Mt. Juliet area. Was wanting fish tacos so decided to stop in @ Cheddar's. We had a great waiter and the service was nice. Our seating location was right by the door for the outside seating area. My favorite place to eat. I first went to a Cheddar's in Johnson City Tennessee and loved it. Then I found one in Cookeville TN and it was wonderful. Now we have one in Mt. Juliet and once again I was not disappointed. We got a carry out order of Fried Catfish last night and it was perfect. I love their carrots, delicious. So far I haven't found a thing I didn't like. If you like southern sweet tea it is wonderful. If you are near a Cheddars don't miss the treat and the prices are so affordable. I hope we will soon have a Cheddars in Nashville. Green Hills or Brentwood would be great. Whitebridge Road would also be a fantastic location. read more

We have been to many different Cheddar's restaurants over the years in many different locations. We love them because they're always super fast, cheap, and delicious. Today was our first time eating at the Mount Juliet location, and I have to say we were not impressed. When we checked in with the hostess she told us there was a 5-10 minute wait. 25 minutes later we get a table and the restaurant was full of empty tables! It took another 10 minutes for our waitress to come to the table. We gave her our entire order at that time: drinks, food, and appetizer. While we were waiting a couple at a table beside us found a bug in their food. I heard them tell their waitress and the manager telling them that they spray for bugs all the time. I think they were understaffed, but that was the worst experience at cheddars we have had so far. I don't think we'll be back to this location. read more

Worst customer service. Host was not at the host stand when arriving. They were very slow in seating us and in delivering our food. The waiter was slow to do his job. We ate here with family and had a great time. The waiter, Trent, did a great job and the food was great. We ate salads, chicken and ribs. Early the next day I realized that I had forgotten my credit card at the restaurant when I paid! We called the restaurant and Trent had found my card and gave it to the manager. I was able to stop by the restaurant and pick up my card! I checked my account and there were no unauthorized purchases! Had not been to Cheddars in a while but was back home visiting family and at the NFL draft and thought we stop by and have dinner. We were seated very quickly which we felt good about. Did notice a lot of table were empty but had not been bussed. Thought they may just have been busy but that was not the case. Numerous people kept walking by the tables. Halfway through our meal the table next to us which was empty but dirty when we arrived finally got bussed. When we did get to our table and our waitress came, there was no welcome or anything just "what do u want to drink". She took our drink orders and came back to take our food order . Wrote everything down only to come back 5 minutes later to tell us she could not read her own writing and needed to know again what a few of us had ordered. After going through that again she brought refills to half of us but did not remove any empty glasses. By the way that was the last time we got any refill offers! Once the food arrived one of the orders was wrong, her statement was, "oh dang that's right", she took it back, before I could even tell her my order was wrong she had disappeared, once she brought back that order I told her I had asked for sautéed mushrooms, again, "oh that's right". Also the chicken tenders salad that was ordered had no tomato, when questioned about that, we were told "oh we don't put tomatoes in salads". Really?????? Well after I had eaten half my sandwich the "mushrooms" arrived, but before I could stop her ,she ran away like a track star, because they were not mushrooms but onions! Well I travel and eat out quite a bit and I expect to get service u pay for regardless of the restaurant, but this was absolutely terrible service. My brother who is more diplomatic than myself and lives in the area asked god the manager, the manager came out and once we explained our evening, not one time apologized or offered to bring out mushrooms or even attempted to clean the table. He did offer to take off the $0.99 mushrooms, which I could care less about at this point. I always tip well but this is one time I had to refrain. I will say that I will never again go to Cheddars in Mt Juliet, TN when I'm visiting and will make sure to let all my family and friends know as well. I need never go to this place again. I called about an one hour in advance to let them know that I had a party of 12. When we got there, the hostess had written on the board with a grease pencil and not on the waiting list nor let the manager know about the group. When we got there, they did not act like we were expected even though it was written on the grease board. No one was waiting and as new customers cane in they were seated. OK - so this is called Casual Dining and for me Cheddars delivers. The food is good, service is great, quantity is always more than you expect for the buck. The Mushroom Burger is the best burger in town, Fries are great, the Fried Onions at $3.99 are impressive. Kids meals are right up the alley for the kiddo's. Try the fish tacos - really good. Then we heard from everyone else how great it was. So I gave it another chance on a lunch meeting, and while it was a little better, it was still quite bad. We loved it. We seldom eat out and are even less likely to go to inexpensive chain restaurants, but decided to try it when my out-of-town parents visited on a work night. Good selection of beers for a casual dining restaurant, as well as full bar. (wine menu was limited, but aren't they always!?) We were told "35 minute wait," but turned out to be only 7-10 minutes. We had Grilled Salmon, some type of tropical chicken salad, 1/2 slab of babyback ribs, and a monte cristo sandwich, along with sides that included broccoli, fries, baked potato, and corn-off-the-cob. The shared onion ring appetizer was a good start . Waiter was friendly and humorous, service was prompt and efficient. Total tab without alcohol was $45, and we all were properly full; indeed, my wife had so much monte cristo that she left food on the plate. Given that a nice restaurant is at last twice that much for two and consumes another hour or more of your evening, this was a very good deal. I have ate here dine in a couple of times and it was ok. A few times though, my family has done take out and every time it was messed up. Especially the last time 2 weeks ago. I ordered 2 entrees and a chicken salad. Rather than getting what I ordered I received 5 meals of fried chicken fingers and fries. Waiting for them to fix everything it took almost 40 min. This is second time we came to Cheddar's in 2 days. We are on vacation, we dined at Cheddar's in Bristol VA last night, food, and server was great. Drink took about 20 min to arrive. But overall was good. Tonight we came to Mt Juliet, Tenn. Cheddar's and was not that busy. We sat down, server came right over, took our drink orders(I ordered the cran-apple rancher and wife ordered pina colada) and we put in a order for onion rings. We got our onions rings out quick, and ordered dinner, STILL NO DRINKS.. server said bar was backed up.... After about another 20 min we received our dinners and STILL NO DRINKS! So now we have had apps and now half way through dinner and drinks finally come out! Mine was good but my wife's pina colada was very strong. She did not enjoy it. I could barely finish half my drink since was now full from eating. Overall Dinner was very good but need to do something about getting drinks out a whole lot faster! My family went on vacation and we stopped here on the first night as it is a familiar chain and we knew we would find enjoyable food on the menu. As expected, had a thirty minute wait for a table, (family of five, Saturday night) but once we were seated our server did an excellent job despite having a lot of tables to wait on in our area. Food is great for the price, although I will say that they do certain sides (broccoli cheese casserole, southern green beans) much better than others (mac n cheese, homemade black beans).
