We have enjoyed both of our trips to Cheddar's and they really have a unique menu. During this trip our server was training a new employee but we still felt a little neglected sitting in the back corner of the restaurant. It took longer than it should have for the server to ask for our food order. It was only because I had turned all the way around in my seat and poked my head out in the aisle that she noticed from the opposite side of the seating area that we were trying to get her attention because we were ready to order. We enjoy the fact that Cheddar's food is made from scratch and made to order. We will definitely make an effort to visit this location again. read more

I keep giving this place a new chance...4 by now...and they blow it every single time....starting with details and ending with the food. Every time i went inside to pick up my order (because curbside delivery is a foreign concept for these folks), no one pays attention to me or to anyone. I have to look for my order.. Now the food. They can't cook a medium rare steak to save their lives...their low quality beef doesnt help either, but for God sake, teach your cooks how a medium rare rib eye should be cooked. I guess I'm done with this place...if they won't try harder during this plandemic when the inside traffic is 60-75% lower than in March, it means they don't care about their customers. read more

We went here for supper Thursday night and all was fine. We knew weekends might be busy but we weren't expecting the rude employees. The hostess warned us the wait was 15 minutes. Really it was 30. We tried to sit on a bench outside and a manager told us we couldn't sit there. Later when we were called in and when we left others were in the same places with no comment. What you don't get is we are regular 15 year customers and we just cancelled our family Mother's Day meal. The 7 other places would be fine. This restaurant has gone completely downhill. When we moved here in 2015 this was our go to place for date night. I'm not sure exactly what happened. The last time we went here about a month ago, my husband and I got seated and we waited 15 mins and no one ever came over to help us. Visited Cheddars on a Saturday night with a group of 6. We were seated immediately after the hosted accommodated our request for a table instead of a booth. We had great service throughout the night. I ordered a Texas Iced Tea to drink, which the menu said had a limit of 2 per person. I only had one, but it didn't taste nearly strong enough to require such a limit. Maybe that's a good thing, but it was delicious, nonetheless. For my meal, I went with the Blackened Redfish with Crab Sauce, along with broccoli casserole and mashed potatoes. Everything was served hot and the taste greatly exceeded my expectations. Everyone at the table enjoyed their meals. We ate here exactly one week ago and we would have rated it 4 stars. Today...Not so much. All 3 of the hostess people were missing. The waitress brought 3 straws for 4 people. My younger grand daughter got a child's plate but her drink was at the full adult price. The Chicken pot pie was served in a small bowl. My extra side of green beans was cold. The Sprite was old from Friday night and had to be swapped for tea. All the quick service and good food from last week was gone like we were down the street. This was our first experience eating lunch at Cheddar's. Our server was Joey. We really appreciated that our food was made after we ordered it, rather than being prepared hours before. Joey brought us coffee and--my test of an attentive server--keep our coffee and water filled up. When we were low on coffee, instead of warming up our coffee, he brought new cups. This was typical of the excellent service. The food was superb. I had a medium-rare steak; it was actually cooked medium-rare, which does not always happen. The flavor of all our entrees and side orders was very tasty. We plan to go back frequently. Heartily recommended. The wait is noted in other reviews, and it's because of the quality of food. If you're taking out an elderly relative whose criteria for a good restaurant is "do they give you a salad & bread with your meal", this might be your least expensive option. I have never eaten at a Cheddar's before so I figured I would write a review. We ate here for father's day. I would say it a decent restaurant. Nothing spectacular but nothing bad that stood out for me. The menu items are priced pretty cheaply with few things over $10 from what I remember. I was actually kind of worried about this because when the food is priced cheaply then it is usually made up elsewhere with poor service or a bad facility. I was pleasantly surprised that facility was nice (it is pretty new) and the quality of my meal was good. Details on the meal are as follows: I had the grilled salmon (lunch portion of 7 oz) with a side of green beans and broccoli. I believe my meal was only $8.99. My brother had the beer battered shrimp which was pretty heavy on the batter. He indicated that it was Ok and cost $9.99. My dad got his favorite which is the Monte Crisco sandwich which he really enjoyed. I believe his sandwich was $7.99. We also got an order of nachos to start our meal that I thought were ok. I would say it is a decent place for a sit down restaurant meal that is reasonably priced. read more

If it were possible to give no stars I would. Where do I even begin? When we entered the host's were not very attentive, it took about 4 of them to look at us and pass by before we got seated, and they spoke in almost whisper tones. When we got our food (which was over half an hour after we ordered it), we got a chicken pot pie with no Caesar salad, steaks that were supposed to be medium that were VERY well done, no broccoli cheese casserole with the steak, out of potato soup, no silverware (had to grab it ourselves), and the server had no intention of bringing out the rest of our food. The bathrooms were a wreck, each toilet full, trash cans with literal towers of paper towels, and trash littered across the floor. I don't typically write Yelp reviews but this was definitively the worst dining experience I have ever had. We walked out of there after receiving our food (or lack thereof) and drove to the Culver's across the street and were treated like how a customer should be! read more

We came for lunch and we're seated right away. The atmosphere is spacious, clean and has an "airy" atmosphere. The service was outstanding with Diana. She was funny, personable and takes her job serious. They put her with our party of 5 and another bigger party and she asked for help so we wouldn't be affected. The manager helped her and was very attentive and sweet. We had the spinach nachos for an appetizer. Chips were thin and crispy which we liked. Spinach dip was creamy. I had the club sandwich and fries as did my mother and father in law. I was stuffed! My husband and friend shared the buffalo chicken wrapper. It's HUGE, y'all!! There are 4 rolls! This is just one of those cases where nothing was specifically wrong, but it just didn't seem like anything was great either. Now the service was good: the waitress was pleasant, the staff took care of my needs, and everyone was friendly. The food, however, was very mediocre. Nothing was horrible, save the mashed potatoes. I took one bite, and just went "weird." I continued to eat, and it just got worse and worse. I told the waitress that I flat out didn't like them, and she offered a replacement side, so I got french fries. I got a steak, and it just seemed bland. It wasn't dry, or ruined, or cold: it just didn't jump out as a good steak. One thing that comforts me it the moderate prices. Nothing was expensive. Even the steaks were south of $15. But both my wife and I just agreed that it wasn't the kind of place that knocks you over with built-in value for your money. It's inexpensive, but it's the mediocrity you'd expect from the prices. I'll give the two stars for the prices... We went to cheddars on the 29th of December and from the moment that we walked in, we should have known that it wasn't going to be a pleasant visit. A fifteen to twenty minute soon turned into a 35 to 45-minute wait. My husband and I tried to understand, after all, most places are understaffed these days. As most do these days, we waited in the foyer, where we watch what we could only assume was a kitchen worker (the uniform) come in from outside reeking of cigarettes, and before the door could shut the last remnants of his cigarette smoke lofted in after him. So, we waited outside. We were finally led to a table. The young man that was our server was excellent, he was as attentive as a server at Cheddars can be, he brought us our sweet tea right away ( Cheddars has multiple servers that are supposed to help you. quite frankly I hate that because ultimately something goes wrong). It took another fifteen to twenty to get our chips and queso then of course the food came out almost at the same time. ( the manager, who never came over to our table, told our waiter to take it off our ticket.) who wants to eat chips and cheese with a chicken wrap? I don't, especially when you find a piece of pasta inside at the bottom of the cheese dish. We were told that the queso station is right next to the pasta station...right... Anyway, The chicken wrap was awful ( I have had it at this location many times) A piece of chicken slapped in a tortilla with a sprinkling of cheese and little sauce. I guess the kitchen didn't want to serve the rest of it (pickles, cabbage,... and flavor.) Our dogs loved it. My husband said his chicken was a little cold, but he ate it anyway. I used to live by a Cheddar's in KY and I often missed eating there after I moved to OH. Well, when I found out there were locations in TN, I was really excited. We were heading to a convention at the Opryland Hotel and I had been told there was a location there. Sadly, that location closed recently. Well, I had been raving all day about the amazing chicken strips and my boyfriend decided we would drive to the nearest location so that I could have them after all. We were seated quickly and our waitress was very nice. She was attentive and everything came out in a timely manner. The decor seems the same at all locations, I've always enjoyed the big thatched fans in the center and the fish tanks. I will stand by the fact that their chicken strips are the BEST ever. Seriously. They're really good. They're the perfect combination of crispy and crunchy. The chicken is always tender and moist. It had been about 7 years since I last had Cheddar's chicken strips, but they were all I had hoped and dreamed they would be. I ordered shrimp as well and they were okay, but nothing too exciting. They tasted like they had probably been previously frozen. Our sides were good and the portions of the meals are more than generous. We both had no room for dessert and plenty of leftover chicken strips to take him for the next day. Overall, it was a good meal. I may have over-hyped it a little bit. The place is a bit of a drive for us and I'm not totally sure that we would make the drive back out there just for that, but we would certainly stop by if we were in that part of town! read more

It's not very often that I found my Cool Springs-living self jealous of my Mt. Juliet-resident friends, but in the case of Cheddars'... I gotta say I'm green with envy. And I've also visited their Hendersonville location and have friends there, too, yep, I covet them as well. Let's face it, it's rare to find a casual restaurant with good food, good prices, and in a venue that isn't scary or dirty or otherwise yuck. Cheddar's has all that. (Well, the good parts, but I guess you figured that). We have visited several times and I like the fact that their menu has a terrific variety and choices you just don't see everyday elsewhere. I've enjoyed a nice chicken pot pie served in your own cute ramikin/bowl (don't think that means it's small), I've indulged on a Monte Crisco (come 'on, when else will you have the chance to do that?), and have some great salads and soups. The only real problems? The location, of course, because I want one closer to home, and the waits. Be prepared to go with a group and hang out. And visit. And make small talk. And maybe go grab a drink at the bar... they serve some huge, mean margaritas. You're gonna wait. I also enjoy the fact that in the center dining room overhead there's a very unusual ceiling fan that has horizontal oriented blades and flaps a breeze going. I've visited three different locations of Cheddar's over the years, and they all had this. Other than here, I've only seen one other time in a large home in the country of a friend. Just cool. And the like the huge fish tank near the bar area, I think more restaurants should have aquariums over bolting random memorabilia and picker finds on the walls - I'm a little over that.
