Placed order via website. The coupon for free dessert did not go through, so I called the store before placing order. Was told that they can help me in the store. I get there and it literally takes 20 + minutes for them to prepare a slice of cake with ice cream on the side with no nuts. I had told the individual I spoke to when I called 30 minutes prior to arriving. My food was so cold when I arrived home. I only ate a little. The additional 20-30 minutes awaiting a dessert is ridiculous!!!! Someone told me that they were struggling scooping the ice cream!! Like really??? The ice cream received was clearly freezer burnt! This location has always struggled with communication and preparation!! If you order a meal the fries are hot but fish cold, hamburger fresh but fries cold. My wife had never been to a Cheddars and I admittedly hadn't been to one in quite a while. Looking for a casual place to get some comfort food, this is the place for you. The atmosphere itself was actually more upscale than we expected although the booth we sat in was in a questionable state when my wife sat down. The food in general everything was generously portioned at a surprisingly good price point (especially with drinks). The food itself was cooked well albeit heavy (as expected), but wasn't necessarily anything to write home about. I would question how "homemade" some of their items were such as the cheese dip, but the service was quick and was recommended extra gravy (good call). Overall, we had a good experience and would come back for a low key dinner with family or friends especially in a situation without prior planning. read more

If I could give this review a zero rating I would. Possibly the worse customer service experience I've ever had. We waited almost 2 hours for our food. Supposedly they're were extremely behind and busy. But the people who were sat after us received their food. We asked for the Manager several times and we were told the manager was extremely busy. We had a few minor issues with our meal, including a bit of a soupy chicken pot pie. However, the manager, Aaron, personally ensured that the issue was corrected and then went absolutely above and beyond to make sure the rest of our meal was perfect and even treated us to dessert. Totally unexpected in the best way possible. This was our first time here and WOW! The customer service was fabulous! The lady in the front that is Filipino is super sweet! She greeted us and made us feel at home. Our waiter Lena was wonderful! She treated us like family and had great customer service skills! The baked potato soup was DELICIOUS! I could eat this soup everyday! Our sandwich and burger was tasty! I highly recommend the strawberry lemonade! The croissants were fresh out of the oven as well. The manage Richard asked about our meal and told them everything was fabulous! Good food and plenty of it at reasonable prices. Atmosphere is nice and the honey-buttered croissants are to die for. Had chi Ken tenders that were perfectly fried in a light crisp crust and served with seasoned French fries and coleslaw. I paid a little to get the house salad instead of slaw. This location has some really terrible customer service! I came one night to get seated and the restaurant was slow, the girl who was seating me stated the wait would be an hour and a half! She clearly was trying to turn us away at the door so they would not seat us, the restaurant was filthy on the inside and tables had not been bussed. There was NOT a bunch of people there!!! I used to work in the food industry, this girl was extremely lazy and just wanting to not take any more customers.... When I told her that's fine for the wait time (just to see her reaction and if she would continue to lie...), she then very awkwardly and obviously writes down the reservation in the book and proceeds to say out loud "ohhh ok, party of two that will be an hour and a half wait, for two...you can wait outside if you want and we will call you. ( the crazy part is she didn't even get my phone number) I asked to speak with a manager who then the girl grabs another 'server' who lies to me and states the kitchen is backed up!!! I again ask to speak with a manager who comes out and tells me the kitchen is not backed up and that we should be seated immediately and he was us sure why those two girls working there would say that! We were seated in a very back dirty section where every tables was dirty, the servers there were all sitting around and appeared to not have any sense of urgency. went last night 2/8/25 and ordered the spinach dip and New Orleans pasta. I get these items almost every time we come to this location and last night, rather than being given a spoon to stir there was a chip placed in the artichoke dip as if that was supposed to be used as the spoon. Then upon receiving the pasta, I noticed a thick uncut, not thoroughly cooked piece of chicken in my pasta and then upon mixing my pasta with the sauce that seemed to be placed on one side of the plate, a piece of a French fry turned up. Cheddars is one of those chains that for some reason, probably good, never seems to disappoint. I have eaten at the Waco location once, and now twice at the Killeen location. Personally, sitting under that huge fan of fans in the center of the restaurant is fun. Now to the food. I usually order the whole herb roasted chicken, which while not a monumentally huge bird, is big enough to eat and take some home. Today I chose carrots and a side salad as my sides. Love their salads. They always use the freshest ingredients and the house ranch dressing is awesome. Those sweet butter drizzled croissants they bring out at the beginning are a pleasant change to rolls or biscuits. My lunch pal had the penne pasta chicken alfredo with broccoli. Excellent choice. My goodness this place is amazing we got sat down in a clean perfect booth instantly, I ordered the chicken tender platter with mashed potatoes white gravy and fries and for my appetizer I got buttered croissant (French accent) cwastont, and I got Wisconsin cheese bites the appetizer were amazing and came fast, after I polished off my first drink I found the refills were free!! When my food came it was a large portion of chicken tenders for only 11.89 and apparently a chicken finger fell off so they got a new one made for me and threw in some extra sauce!!! The fries and mashed potatoes and gravy were really good and the chicken tenders tossed in buffalo was really delicious! My final note is about my server his name is Cristian and he was so chill he had that vibe you know? I've done several reviews here but unfortunately this experience last week was terrible. The server said he was tired and should have gone home earlier and we could definately tell his mind was elsewhere and he was over it. He came back to see what we ordered because he forgot, forgot our drinks several times, forgot the steak sauce I asked for and at times just simply failed to come by. As a result of him forgetting we sat there for over an hour while others who came after us got their food, ate and left. On top of that, we were seated in a booth by the window. Another server came by and asked to fix the window blinds because the sun was bothering another patron. My friend stood up while he proceeded to step all on her seat with his dirty shoes and ran his fingers all across the blinds. While he did that we saw dust fly around and drop down onto our table. Our waitress was nice but didn't bring us our drinks for about 10-15 minutes. The food was mediocre -- the chips for the queso and salsa were stale and inedible. The croissants were mediocre. My salmon on my Caesar pasta salad tasted like it was cooked the night before and thawed out to be microwaved...overall just a nightmare and not what we all were used to. This used to be the spot. When I went some time back, they sat me in the bar area, and I never got any service, even after sitting there for 20 minutes. I walked out, so zero stars. Today's visit was soooo much better. I had the meatloaf with additional side salad, and decided to try the cheesecake for dessert. I was concerned that the meatloaf looked dry, but it turned out to be nice and moist. I think they pan seared it after slicing. And the price was a bit more reasonable than some similar chains, when you consider how crazy the price of dining out has become. First off this place has really went downhill. It's been a while since we've been there and we decided to have lunch for Easter with the family. Let me start by saying it wasn't that busy our waitress was doing the best she could. It was myself two adults and one child and the simplest things as no broccoli in the fettuccine was put in there. Other persons salad and soup didn't come until others eating there meal was already been consumed by others and the chicken strips with fried shrimp. The oil tasted like it never was changed in days. There was no flavor no seasoning nothing very bland. The broccoli casserole was barely 1 ounce scoop was dry and cold as well as the mashed potatoes was also like one ice cream scoop and no gravy was added when asked ? The waitress offered to redo my daughter's plate and take out the broccoli which she brought back 20 minutes later, but that time the other party was kind of done and everything had to be taken to go. This place has really really gone downhill looking at the previous reviews. I don't understand it. It's a great location if you want great service and a great restaurant and great tasting food. Staff are friendly but can't help but notice how utterly disgusting and dirty this restaurant is. You walk in and floors are sticky, the menu is sticky, the glass around the booths has fingerprints all over it, the floors have scattered food and debris. The food and the prices is what usually gets me to come here. The service overall tends to be pretty slow, and even slower when it's busy with people. The inside is like any other location, so it's not too bad. I've ordered pickup multiple times here, and it'll usually take 35-45 minutes for me to get my food after already waiting 30-35 minutes since placing my order. When dining in, it's also taken quite a while for my waiter to come by after the initial welcome and order placing. Other than that, I don't have too much of a problem with this location. Wow this place has really gone down hill. I don't think we'll ever come back. Host and wait staff were friendly but the food was just terrible. Everything was overcooked and the sides tasted like they had been made hours or maybe even days ago and reheated in the microwave. I ordered a steak medium rare and it came out well done. My wife's salmon was overcooked as well and dried out. Flavor was lacking in everything and neither of us finished our meals. If I had to guess based on the rest of the staff, there are a bunch of inexperienced young people in the back doing their best to keep up with the orders.
