My friend wanted to take me here for my birthday and I was excited since I have never been! We came with her sons and their friend. Service was terrible right off the bat. Our server asked what I would like to drink and I had to repeat "Moscow Mule" three times to her (she had no idea what that was) before finally saying they do not serve that drink there. No problem- I asked for a vodka tonic instead- requesting Tito's Vodka and extra lime. Simple enough, right? Wrong. Again she had me repeat "vodka tonic" multiple times with a very confused look on her face so I explained I wanted Tito's Vodka in tonic water with extra lime slices. We order our dinner and my friend asked for double side of fries and an extra plate since her two boys were sharing one entree. Meals arrive. My meal was wrong. No extra fries and no plate as requested by my friend. She asks again for both. Meanwhile-about 40 minutes have gone by since I had ordered my vodka tonic and server finally arrives with a shot glass with ONLY vodka and a side of three limes. !!! I asked what this was, and that I requested a vodka tonic and she said "That's it". I said "No. Vodka tonic is a beveridge - not just a shot of vodka - but vodka along with tonic water - confused again she asked "with soda?" I said "tonic water/soda water whichever you have." Still appearing confused she said she'll have the bartender redo it. Meanwhile-still no plate or fries. My dish was the wrong order originally, so when my new order arrived (the blackened salmon and mango salsa) I cut in the middle of my salmon and it was RAW. Completely boogery pink and raw. !!!! My "fixed" vodka tonic arrive--yet this time it is in the same shot glass, but you could tell they had only added the tonic water to the original shot. I stopped the waitress again and explained this was not what I wanted and if I could please order my drink at the bar myself because there seemed to be a miscommunication. She comes back with the bartender who equally doesn't seem to know how to make a vodka tonic properly and says this is what I ordered. I *WISH* I had taken a photo of this "vodka tonic" for you all to see. It was a joke. Was I in the Twilight Zone?! It boggled my mind how a simple vodka tonic could become so complicated. Again, I explain to the bartender to please put my drink in a regular drink glass and add more tonic as it tasted like straight up vodka. By this point we had spoken to the manager twice with not much resolve. My friend and I were just laughing at this point because we could not believe how much had already gone terribly wrong. The manager asked if he could get me chicken tenders or fries, but at the point I had lost my appetite and so annoyed I asked to please cancel the vodka tonic as I'd still been waiting ANOTHER 30 minutes and it had not arrived. Fries arrived. Still no plate. At this point my friend asked another waitress to help get us a plate. A few minutes go by a here comes our oiringal waitress with the plate. She tells us the manager has our meal on the house (which doesn't help me much considering I didn't even get to eat or drink anything by this point and we had been there for two hours already!) Bartender comes back with my drink and says "Sorry, I thought she was coming back to get this but never did." -_- Because it was my birthday my friend asked the waitress if she could get a chocolate cake to go. Waitress says sure. While my friend and I are talking we realized 30 more minutes had gone by and still no cake. Once again our waitress is nowhere in sight so we asked the different waitress (again) if she could see what the hold up was. She said the order was never put in. Our waitress comes back and apologizes saying the kitchen just told her there is no more chocolate cake. This place is a joke. Either they need management, new chefs and bartenders, new waiting staff or ALL OF THE ABOVE. Do yourself a favor and DON'T come here. If she ever did come to the table she couldn't leave fast enough. We struggled with getting her to stay long enough to get our order. The busy rush was over. Pre-covid we'd occasionally enjoy....but now here in September, not so much. They do the spacing well, but the quality of the food is just bleh. This is the first time in a real long time that I declined a take home box. The ribs that I remember being off-the-bone yummy were tough and I guess maybe felt like they were just straight from the freezer vs. being "scratch". Those honey butter croissants are amazing. Had the bacon burger and what I like best was that it wasn't too tall. I have a hard time with eating giant hamburgers, and this one was deliciously perfect. My mother thought the same thing. My daughter is a chicken tender connoisseur and proclaimed them as good as Chili's, which is her gold standard. Service was polite and prompt. We all ate every bite. A storm was quickly approaching and our server noticed that. I have been to this restaurant a handful of times in the last couple of years and have had nothing but positive experiences. My hubby and I went tonight (his first time) and he loved it. He raved about the green beans he ordered as one of his sides, and his ribs were so tender, the bones came out clean and easily. I got the steak and grilled shrimp, which is always good. The shrimp are kind of small, and you only get 4, but with the steak and 2 sides, I was still full and took home leftovers. Some of my other favorites include the chicken pot pie (seriously good) and the chicken fried steak. You MUST try the croissants. The service can be hit or miss. Where do I begin?! Let me start by saying this used to be one of my favorite restaurants..... So, Saturday night we had a large group for my daughters birthday. I know they don't take reservations but I had called the night before to make sure they could accommodate 15 people. They said yes and the suggestion was that I show up 15-20 minutes ahead of my desired sit time to get the large seating. So I had told my family and friends 7 pm and I showed up at 6:40 to put my name in. I was told they had the perfect table that could accommodate 15 people. They gave me a buzzer and my wait began. My friends and family were all there by 7:05. At 7:30 my buzzer went off and they said they were just finishing the cleaning and setup of the table. At 7:50 we were finally brought back. Now, I had two additional people show up but the manager said the table would fit 15 comfortably so I figured we could just squeeze together a little, no biggie. We get back to the table and it's set for 12. 12 when I I originally said 15. Well, 14 of us squeezed together and my husband and two friends had to get a separate booth away from us. So we start ordering drinks, which take forever, we order some apps, and then order our food. 25 minutes after we ordered the food, they come and tell several in my party that they were out of baked potatoes.... At this point, my friends who had to sit separate come over because they're done eating and getting ready to leave and we haven't even gotten our food!!!!! Another 20 minutes and our food starts coming out. Not super hot and the mashed potatoes were saltier than I don't know what, but at this point, were starving. Fast forward to the end of dinner. I asked for the cake and candles I brought with me and some plates. The server brings my cake and when I go to open it, I stare in disbelief as I realize that my candles have already been lit and blown out. WHAT?!? Ya'll - I cant make this up. I ask the server who had no idea and goes to get the manager again and he comes to tell us the story that there were two large parties with cake and some servers grabbed the first cake they saw and brought it to the table with the candles lit before they realized it was the wrong cake and then put it back and forgot to tell me what happened. He asks me at this point what I want him to do. I was of course in shock and wanted to go off but said just some desserts since I didn't want to eat a cake that some stranger blew on. So he takes the order.... 5 minutes later he comes back and say that he will still comp dessert but that no one blew on the cake, but fanned it out. Hmmm yeah ok. So ANOTHER 20 minutes go by and our desserts come out but no singing or candle blowing for my daughter since they ruined that. Finally we ask for our checks. We had been there for over 3 hours. THREE. And after 3-4 redos, they finally got our checks properly divided. I was secretly hoping the manager would do some kind of discount but no, we paid full price for a long wait time to sit, subpar food, my cake being ruined and slow/poor service. So 3 1/2 hours after I got there, we FINALLY got to leave and I won't be back. I also had family who were there for the first time and probably won't be back after this either. read more

The quality of the food here has taken a steep decline. I used to love this place but after my latest visit, I don't think I'll be back. I had the ribs and they were dry and flavorless. The fries were dark like they'd been fried in old oil and were cold and tasted stale. My friend had a cheeseburger and the bun was stale and the burger patty was dry and also lacked any flavor whatsoever. Our server was very nice but he couldn't make the food quality any better. It seems like they're doing like so many other restaurants now...using cheap, low quality ingredients and preparing everything in advance and reheating it to order. I rarely eat here and it's been quite sometime now but when your son invites you for a valentine luncheon, I just couldn't say no. I know, I'm a little surprised myself but all the times of correcting him and teaching how to be thankful pays off! So we arrived shortly just before 3pm. The restaurant looked empty and I needed to hurry to use the bathroom thank God for the family bathroom where I was able to change the baby's diaper and take care of myself! I think all restaurants welcoming families should have this! We were seating in the back bar room and ordered our drinks and food right away. Only thing is it took 30 minutes to wait on a sandwich and a dessert. I know it's Valentine's Day but it's was really early when we ordered, about 3pm. Finally our food arrived and we had to order a box to go because that only gave us less than 10 minutes to eat. My sandwich was almost cold and so were my fries. I ordered a club sandwich which was toasted and my fries were cool enough to feed my toddler with. I was a little disappointed but hey, it's the thought that counts, all thanks to my son. Love love love their spinach dip!!! It was a table favorite! For dinner I ordered the buffalo wrap. I forgot to add that I wanted the chicken grilled and they didn't ask so just brought me out fried chicken. I understood since it was on me too. We had a huge party and they were able to accommodate us accordingly giving us 2 waiters. Everything came out very fast and delicious. The side of broccoli was absolutely amazing! Husband and I were seated right away. We were served delicious honey croissants by our server, Lindsy. She was very friendly and had a good sense of humor. I appreciate how they played the dog race on TV. I appreciate how everyone was socially distant and the staff was wearing their masks. The place was very clean and kept together. My only complaint is that I wish there was more light in the restaurant: once the sun went down, there wasn't very much light and we couldn't see very well. We just moved to lake Mary/Sanford and we've gone to cheddars multiple times. It's quickly become one of my favorite places to eat. My boyfriend and I always spoil ourselves with the ribeye, ny strip or sirloin. Today I had the sirloin and didn't care for it as much as the strip or ribeye. This place is nice and close to Sanford Airport and we had never even heard of it so we thought we would give it a go. The food was really good. I had salmon, and my mother had shrimp. We were both happy with our meals. The food was made with fresh, high quality ingredients, and you could taste it. They are known for being a scratch kitchen, and in their case, I actually believe them. The reason I took off some stars was for the service. It wasn't really bad necessarily, but it seemed lackluster. Our server, as sweet as she was, made several small (and forgivable) mistakes, which just showed she wasn't paying enough attention or had too much going on. She mixed up our sides (gave us each other's), mixed up drinks, nothing awful, but just annoying. A little more attention to detail would go a long way. read more

I've been to a Cheddars when I was in the Midwest. I couldn't remember it much, just the croissants.. omg they were so damn good. My parents have never been here and it was a complete hit for them! They loved it all. My mom said the steak was cooked just right as well as the jumbo shrimp. My niece had the chicken quesadillas. It was big enough for two people. I had the Ultimate Nachos and it was way too much for 1 person. It was delicious just so much food. The prices are great for the portions you get. The layout is good and the bathrooms are big and clean. The atmosphere is very chill and comfortable. It's nice and cold in here with the A.C. which is good because it's ridiculously hot outside. I had never been to Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen and actually hadn't even heard of it. My mom and I were meeting some family friends who live outside of Orlando and they suggested this and a couple of other places. I of course used Yelp to do some research and the pictures of the food looked pretty good. When we got there the restaurant looked clean and the servers were very nice. They quickly got our drinks and took our order after we took a long amount of time to chat and look over the menu. I got the Cajun pasta which was absolutely wonderful! It had juicy shrimp, sausage, chicken and lots of other yummies. The portion was a great size. One person in our party got chicken strips, they looked like some of the best chicken strips at a chain restaurant. The cheese steak looked good as well as the appetizer platter and the cheese dip app. I would absolutely return again and again. read more

Haven't been here is awhile and it is pretty much the same as it's been although the service was better than we've had in the past. Food is slower than most restaurants but that's because they are cooking to order and anything breaded and fried is breaded and fried to order. My chicken tenders were perfect. The breading on the shrimp was a little stodgy and the broccoli was cooked into a green mush. Luckily the green beans were great and I had them replace the broccoli. I had a very good experience during my first time at this particular location of Cheddar's. The wait was 45 mins. to an hour for a table around 6pm. However, we were able to be seated in the bar area at a table with no wait! That was a pleasant surprise. The manager greeted us right away and told us what to expect during our dining experience. He was right on target too, as our food arrived hot and exactly as ordered. We ordered sides of red beans and rice, broccoli - rice casserole, and entrees of fried shrimp and New Orleans Pasta. Everything was tasty except for the Strawberry Lemonade. It was extra, extra sweet. Too much of a sugar rush for me. Service was just fine. The place was packed to the seams again, Things went kinda fast but we had a large party so we had to wait, It appears that they don't have enough servers. Long story short they were out of onions rings, ribs and the machine that makes frozen drinks was broke, I am still searching for the chicken in the chicken pot pie I ordered. It took about ten minutes for a server to come over that took our drink order, but promptly told us that she wasn't our server. I must admit, I was surprised to read that so many people had bad experiences here. If I had read the reviews herefirst I might not have given this place a shot. A friend and I decided to go on a whim and we had a very pleasant experience. We sat at the bar (which is pretty roomy) and there was no wait. Josh was working behind the bar and offered friendly service and great recommendations. We ended up both getting a rib eye steak, Parmesan crusted, and topped with sautéed mushrooms. Both steaks were cooked perfectly, and well flavored but not overwhelmingly so. Both steaks were generously portioned and there was very little fat. We returned many times since to order this same meal. Nearly always we sit at the bar and are served by Josh. We've never had to wait and the service has always been friendly. I am sad to report they no longer offer the option of paying extra for a Parmesan crust. Over the last year we've tried quite a few different things and all were pretty good and served in reasonably generous portions. One odd thing we noticed is there always seemed to be a gang of servers just standing around by the bar, talking, ordering food or counting money or something.i guess that's just where they gather. Server was excellent! Attentive without being obtrusive. Food was just okay. Too much salt in everything. The first couple of bites were good but after that my tongue started to sting. There's salt on the table. Let your customers decide how salty they'd like their food. Once it's been salted you can't take it out. Salt is a seasoning, not an ingredient. Less salt Please?! Honestly, I eat salad here for two reasons--the honey lime dressing and the honey croissant. The salad was very well made with plenty of candied pecans.
