Thank the gods! I've never had a quesadilla like this before. The tortilla was so somehow magically thin and crispy. They used some kind of magic to support an incredible amount of cheese and chicken. There was the right amount of pesto in every bite. To top it off it came with a satisfying but not overpowering side of complementing tater tots. I'll be back every chance I get! Terrible experience with Cheddr Wheel at The Truckyard and will never go back. They stopped taking orders for 20 minutes, and so we were waiting like the other 10 people behind us. We waited 30 minutes. Then the owner of the food truck was then approached by one of his friends, and skipped the entire 20 minute wait and got his order entered before us and the 10 other people waiting. Went to the Cheddr Wheel today during the San Dimas Christmas parade. So glad I found this gem! I tried the pesto steak quesadilla! The pesto sauce was amazing! Absolutely Amazing!!! The steak was tender and the cheese... oooey gooey yummy! I truly enjoyed the carmalized onions and the whole flavor profile within this quesadilla. I noticed this food truck near Ocean and Queen Mary's Way/Magnolia and was delighted to see that they specialized in quesadillas. I decided to try the pesto quesadilla--it was so delicious, replete with sun-dried tomatoes and with the freshest pesto sauce drizzled on. I recently tried the most popular quesadilla, Chimmichurri. Hands down the richer of the two I've tried, but still delicious. If you don't want to splurge too much on calories and want to get more fiber in your meal, I recommend the Pesto. I tried their chicken pesto quesadilla. It has Shredded chicken smothered in pesto sauce, sun dried tomatoes, spinach, fresh mozzarella, all in a Roma tomato tortilla. The guy taking orders said it was his favorite chicken quesadilla so I had to try it. It surprisingly came with some tater tots that were golden fried crisp. I enjoyed them. The hubby and I were excited to visit a new brewery, Mt. Lowe, and even happier to see that they had a food truck that were right up our taste alley...cheddar! That is where the excitement ended. She stated that they were just waiting on the quesadilla...? 30 minutes to make nachos and a quesadilla....really? So, I asked to get the nachos so we could start eating, so, she made the nachos in front of me. I thought I was just waiting on the quesadilla? Then she asked me to remind her where were sitting again...still at the bar. I walked back to the bar, started on the nachos and 10 minutes later (now 40 total) we received the quesadilla and the statement, "thank you for waiting" (was I given the choice?). The nachos were disgusting, they were soaked in cheese that soggied the chips and created a glob of yuck. The quesadilla was just okay, not fantastic, not bad. But, for $21 dollars for these two items, I expected something better. (The portions were pretty average). Overall, yuck! Lunch starts, I SPRINT to the bus loop and there I see it: the Cheddr Wheels food truck. I get in line, and it's already like super duper long. But whatever, you know, we have an hour for lunch, surely I can get my quesadilla in a timely manner and enjoy the delicious mozzarella, chicken, and pesto quesadilla I was told I'd be given. For fourteen dollars, mind you. BUT NO. I wait in line for a total of over 50 minutes (a bit much for a quesadilla if you ask me), and then lunch ends. I have no quesadilla, and I'm left with a soggy cookie, melted ice cream, and no chicken pesto quesadilla. And, you may think, oh, well if the line was long, thats not their fault. Don't blame them. NO. INCORRECT. You know why? Because their service and workers suck major booty. Instead of taking orders in an efficient or productive way, they choose to take one order, and wait until they make the quesadilla, fries, get the drink, plate it, and serve it before taking the next order. First we were super disappointed they do NOT carry the corn anymore, second after eating the meal the prices are way to high. $10 for a pure cheese quesadilla is way to much, and crazy as it sounds it's way to much cheese to the point you can't find the tortilla.
