Our weekly support to local businesses during the COVID-19 times went to this place this place this week. We ordered through uber eats during weekday lunch when both the boy and I are working from home. They dropped it off at the door and messaged us that it was there. Oh, contactless delivery - very nice. Also I want to say the way the this place packages their orders is awesome! They had both our sandwiches and the fries in a plastic bag that is sealed and when you get it, you can just rip off the top, kinda like an Amazon package. So this way, it's guaranteed the delivery driver didn't tamper with your meal of sneak some fries. It's great and I trust that my food is good. So the bf got the classic philly cheese steak and I got the philly joe's. Both were large size but my philly joe's seemed bigger than the classic. In addition to the beef and cheese, mine had mushrooms and spinach, So maybe that's what made it larger. It was a lot of food. Mine was about a dollar or so more than the original. And upgrading to large is a few bucks more but you get double the regular or half sandwich so I think it's worth it. Plus it was too much food for me so I was able to save half for another meal. As for the taste, we both loved it. It came hot. The beef was thinly sliced. Cheese was melty and on the bottom of the bun. Good portion of filling to bread. I was craving a sandwich and this spot had been on my list to try for a quick minute. Hidden away in the corner of the shopping center, this place was pretty popular at dinner time. All of the seats were taken. Although I'm trying to eat healthier, I definitely had to get the cheese steak hoagie as some what of a cheat meal. The presentation of the hoagie was on point. The sandwich was overflowing with meat which made me want to dive into it. The meat was so juicy and with the right amount of savory flavor. The bun was soft and had great amount of cheese and veggies. The only reason why I'm giving them a 4 star instead of a 5 is because of the amount of mayonnaise that was on the sandwich. Very authentic Philly cheese steaks to be found here! Family was craving some cheese steaks, and and decided to try this place out after taking a gander at the menu, and seeing all the great reviews. I had a large classic with sweet & hot peppers, my son had the Western (with onion rings, bacon & bbq sauce), & my wife had the Motown (with mushrooms), we also got the cheese steak fries, also with sweet & hot peppers. The order came out quickly (takeout only because of the pandemic). We went to a local park and chowed down. It was everything one should expect in a the Philly Cheese Steak experience. The fries are large cut, and were covered with a generous portion of steak, American cheese, and the sweet & hot peppers. The bread rolls were fresh and soft. We all thought the American cheese on the fries was a bit more flavorful than the provolone, so the one thing we'll do differently is get the American instead of the provolone. After eating the top off my sandwich I kept adding some of the gooey, meaty fries, with extra peppers back onto the top, and MMMM so good. It's a heavy meal, so not something we'll eat everyday, but we'll definitely be back. My only gripe was a common one during the pandemic: the guy taking our order didn't have his nose fully covered (it was borderline, and he just didn't seem to notice), and so -1 star for that lack of awareness. Management at every single market, restaurant, & food establishment needs to be on top of this 'gap' with their employees. Whereas they should deliver the bread separate from the filling, they don't. They just wrap the whole sandwich in foil and by the time it gets to you, you have a soggy blob of meat and mushy dough. My landlord got my wife and I hooked on this place so I guess you could say we are regulars now. Every time we order the sandwiches are pretty consistent, full of meat & gooey cheese! However sizing of the sandwiches can fluctuate, sometimes they are massive and other times a little on the smaller end. Consistency is a big thing to us when we choose to go out to eat. Either way the sandwiches are really filling and super good! Our regular go to sandwich is the King of Philly. Garlic fries are pretty good too. We've only ordered online and picked up in store once and it was a little disorganized. We tried to call our order in because we had a gift card but nobody had picked up the phone. They had signs stating only 4 people inside at one time which is understandable but of course you have people who pay attention to signage and follow the rules and other idiots who just pass you by and walk in and create their own line. Unfortunately the only time we went I was blessed to experience one of those idiots. However, since we called our order in and we had came almost 5-10 minutes after our pick up time I proceeded to the front counter to ask the process to pick up since that one idiot cut in front of me. Joke was on the entitled line jumper because he hadn't called/placed his order so he had to wait longer as he watched the lady call me up to get my order. Only downside, I wish the employees were more attentive to the customers that were waiting/creating their own lines instead of following the markers. But I could tell they were incredibly busy and were trying to keep up with all the orders. It would also be nice if they added an option to pay with gift card online. Have always loved this place. Now it's a bit out of the way (20 minutes) but well worth it. Found myself in Sunnyvale yesterday and as usual I place my order online so it would be ready when I arrived. Got there at appointed time and found they now have a drive up window! That said, once you swap to authentic (ask for provolone and omit the peppers) ingredients here, you get a cheese steak that could be sold and enjoyed in the Philadelphia area. They even had the ketchup as the topping, although some places would have a bottle of hot sauce, also.) The price was good, and the service was reasonable. You order at the counter, get your own drink, pick up your food at the counter. We had to clean the table and it really needed a wet dish cloth. My buddy mentioned that it was over $20.00 for 2 10 inch cheese steaks and 2 fountain sodas. I started thinking about when I went out to lunch and paid $2.99 for a cheese steak at the mall. The last time I went to Adriatic Pizza in Levittown, PA, I paid $6.99 for a cheese steak, so $7.99 at this place was just fine. I think we paid too much for the refills that were rolled into the price of the soda. I'll definitely return. read more
