Decided to get a slice for lunch. It's located within the Saluhall first floor which is actually a really nice food court asides from the fact that over half of the stalls are empty. They display their pizzas and you can order a slice for $8. I got: (8/10) Gold Rush slice - Topped with potatoes and pancetta, I had asked for it dine-in and the worker reheated it but I personally felt like it wasn't long enough, I would've liked it better if it was. I enjoyed the toppings. I really enjoyed the crust, wasn't super thick and was soft and chewy. They have bathrooms for customers. There is plenty of seating. I do understand that they use quality ingredients but $8 a slice is quite expensive and I probably wouldn't go back anytime soon. read more

After a month in NYC, it was such a San Francisco welcome home to see one not-huge slice for $8.69. While the $1 or $1.50 slices are not great in NYC, $5-$6 can easily get you a HUGE slice that is excellent. While the ingredients here were indeed bougie, size wasn't great and taste was alright. Most of the slices just seemed kinda dry. Lamb Merguez Slice: The dollop of muhammara was the fun creativity here. Nice strong red pepper spread that could be moved around to cover more of the pizza. Otherwise though, a tad dry. The ground lamb added a nice gamey element. Didn't see any of the halloumi mentioned in the menu though. Wild Mushroom Slice: Well, the mushrooms are bougie than the button slices you'd get a generic pizzeria. However, the star was the big dollop of truffled burrata. Loved the creamy and rich flavor. Though the rest of the pizza was dry. Gold Rush Slice: Probably my favorite of the non-traditional flavors. So many different cheeses, nice little potato rounds and thick bacon pieces (pancetta). Still a tad dry, but I didn't mind since there was so much cheese. New Yorker Slice: Finally, a slice that wasn't dry! Appreciate the simplicity of sauce, cheese and pepperoni. Bonus points for all the pepperoni cupping and getting crispy on the edges. Also, liked the extra garlic pieces. Margherita - Grandma: Kinda felt like when you get Pillsbury pizza dough from a can and make a pizza at home. It was very saucy, which was such a nice departure from the many dry slices. I'm super picky when it comes to pizza, and this place was actually soooo delicious! I would love to have another slice from here in the future, even with all the choices at Saluhall. I got a slice of the Gold Rush, and it was excellent. The perfectly crispy crust, made with sourdough! It added so much flavor. With that said, the toppings made this even better. Anyone that names their business after their dog, I'm here for it! Opening last Thursday, Cheezy's Artisan Pizza is the newest food stall in Saluhall, IKEA's sister food hall. An alum from Pizzeria Delfina and Flour + Water Pizzeria, the owner is an award winning pizzaiolo. He named his business after his late chihuahua (RIP). Cheezy's is located on the first floor, taking over Smörgåsland, Scandinavian Bakery & Café. Open for takeout and indoor dining. They were offering free Margherita and NY slices over the weekend but I couldn't make it. M E N U Six pies: Margherita, Five Cheese, New Yorker (w/ pepperoni), Wild Mushroom, Gold Rush (w/ potatoes + pancetta), and Lamb Merguez. Whole 12-inch pies: $23-$28 and slices are $8. They also have salads. Pies are West Coast style, a cross between Neo-Neapolitan (modern twist on Neapolitan) and Canotta Americano (large inflated crust w/ micro blisters). Dough is fermented for at least five days. F O O D I visited for weekday lunch and the cashier told me they had no slices. I asked what time slices would be available and he said, they don't have slices. He kindly allowed me to order a pie, half/half ($28): * Gold Rush w/ mozzarella, provolone, fontina, jack, Mt. Brushed with olive oil before baking, the exterior crust is unlike anything I've had. The exterior crust had a crackly crisp with a honeycomb center, good airy chew with a light sourdough tang. Giving this a 5/5 because the pizzas are very good and well crafted. And it's hard finding food under $10 in SF so each slice being $8 is affordable. My favorite was definitely the lamb pizza. It had plenty of meat and there's a spice to it that just makes it pop in your mouth. Also such a convenient location in saluhall. Right there on the first floor, perfect for a grab and go. Found this awesome restaurant on the lower level of the Saluhall food court. There were at least 5-6 flavors available in the display case on a Saturday evening for pizza by the slice, except the one I wanted to try. No worries, the worker assured me that a fresh pie would be out in ten minutes. It was worth the wait. That new yorker slice was full of flavor, with savory juicy pepperoni combined with garlic and basil, an airy crust, ample cheese, and not too much sauce, just the way I like it. The Saluhall next to IKEA in Downtown San Francisco has been getting different restaurants tenants and one thing missing inside was a pizza place. I found one of the best new pizza places in San Francisco that is very cheesy that has the namesake Cheezy in it. I made a pit stop to check it out. The Cheezy's Artisian Pizza offers different types of pizza pies. I got the 5 cheese pizza which was cheesy and tasty. It was thin sliced and the sauce flavor was savory along with the different 5 cheeses which were mozzarella, wagon wheel , Parmesan , dry jack , and provolone and the blend was so delicious. It's National Cheese Day today . This is my new favorite place to grab a cheesy artisan pizza with a great staff and the owner David Jacobson has provided the best in class service in this area of San Francisco. Exciting place to get good New York style slices of pizza. People love Outta Sight, and I do agree that the crust is good there, but the toppings hardly taste like anything. But Cheezy's has also mastered their pizza crust, and the toppings have flavor, so Cheezy's wins hands down. I've tried the mushroom, lamb merguez, and gold rush slices and they all tasted good. My favorite might be the mushroom, just because I found the lamb merguez to a bit salty and the gold rush to be bland. I also tried a caesar salad. It was really fresh and crisp. I don't think I got croutons, but the egg and anchovies were plentiful. Staff is friendly. Great addition to Saluhall. read more

We ordered the white version of their Margherita pizza -- a 12-inch round for $23 -- and it was fantastic. Instead of red sauce, it uses a light cream and olive oil base. The crust strikes a perfect middle ground between New York and Neapolitan styles: thin, delicate, and flavorful, but sturdy enough that it doesn't sog out. You still get some beautiful micro-blisters from the oven, and you can really taste the difference from the five-day dough fermentation -- it has that deep, complex flavor you only find in top-tier pies. Sure, $23 for a 12-inch pizza might sound steep, but the quality more than justifies it. This is artisan pizza done right. Definitely a contender for best in the city, and I'll absolutely be coming back to try their other varieties. read more

Their mushroom pizza was pretty tasty, but I'm disappointed that the crust was so big on my slice. I threw away about 1/3 of my pizza because it was all crust and I didn't need the additional meaningless calories. It was about the same for my girlfriend's slice, although her crust was slightly less. Her slice was really salty though and the additional dough helped to cut down the saltiness. This place is located in the Swedish food court (Saluhall) near where I work, and has slowly but surely become part of my personal self-care regimen. Rough day? Pizza will fix it. Existential crisis? They sell big floppy slices with that nice chewy Naples crust and cheese fancy enough to justify both their name and their claim to "artisan" status. $8 a slice, and would be worth every penny even if it wasn't in downtown San Francisco. Bad customer service. Make sure you get charged the right price. Slices are discounted in the evening, and I got rung up regular price. His coworker tried to tell him he charged it wrong, but he cut him off and waved him off to not worry about it, and quoted me full price. It took me asking the other coworker to step in again and fix it. This wasn't a mistake - it was intentional. In hindsight, I should have said I didn't want the food anymore.
