~ food: 6/10 ~ service: 2/10 ~ ambiance: 7/10 ~ parking: plaza parking available for the price, this restaurant should offer a much higher level of service and food quality, but it fell short on both. many of the dishes felt like they were trying too hard to be elevated by adding truffle or other premium toppings, yet none of them were truly impressive or memorable the service was especially disappointing for a place that brands itself as elevated dim sum. one dish we ordered was mislabeled, and when we asked if it could be remade, the server flatly said no without even attempting to check with the kitchen. we were told we had to eat it and still pay for it, which completely ruined the experience. for a restaurant associated with a well-known chef, this level of service is unacceptable. very disappointing, and we won't be returning

It's' been a few years since I had Chef Tony's dim sum. I ordered delivery and I was surprised at how good the food was. I got the wok-fried radish cake in XO sauce (a little spicy and the bean sprouts gave this dish great flavor), shrimp and pork dumplings with black truffles (the truffles were not overpowering which I liked), and eggplant stuffed with shrimp paste (this was spicy and sweet). All the food was flavorful without being overly salty. I would defiantly be ordering more from them in the future!

Must try dimsum place. Speaks quiet luxury when you go in. Went in on a Saturday right before they were about to open; there were already people waiting and ss soon as it opened, resto was already half filled. It's a small restaurant but service is fast, place is clean, nice staff, food is bomb! Ordered all their specialty dish; food tastes elevated --- very much different from your usual dimsum place. Don't get me wrong, I love the usual places but I can definitely taste the difference. The area has some nice coffee/spots and bakeries as well. Overall experience was good, price is a bit higher than usual but worth it.

Met up with my middle/high school friend here for dim sum. She's been and suggested it. We got a table shortly after arrival around 11am on a Sunday. We got a round table for our party of 7. High chairs and booster chairs all prepared. Menu checked off and food was arriving. The dim sum here was better than the dim sum in NorCal where we are from. Each item tasted fresh and well made. The service was lacking as we asked for water and none came. To be expected from a traditional dim sum place. Located in small plaza- there was enough parking. Two bathrooms in the back - one men and one women- technically unisex.

My boyfriend took me to Chef Tony Dim Sum for breakfast. They are located in the same plaza as one of our sushi spots, Sushi Kisen. The parking here is awful, limited parking with tight spots and aggressive drivers. When we came in there was no hostess at the front. I waived and made eye contact with multiple staff members who turned away and ignored me. Red flags. Should have walked out. Eventually we got seated at a tight 2-top that was definitely not meant for dim sum style dining cause it was a struggle to fit our food. I'll also note that this place does not have the dim sum carts. You order with the waitress and your food comes out whenever each dish is ready. It was so weird because all the sweet stuff came out early in the meal when a lot of the savory items were missing. Service was lacking the entire time. For instance we had to ask multiple times for the hot mustard and chili. They charge $2.20/person for Tea and Condiments so I want my condiments. For the tea we got Jasmine. Hot water was not refilled. Shrimp Dumpling ($7.38) - Har gow. Okay. Shrimp and Pork Dumpling with Black Truffle ($7.38) - Shu mai. I didn't really taste anything special with the black truffle. Radish Cake ($6.38) - Lacked crispiness on the edges. Rice Noodle Roll with Shrimp ($8.98) - Only one shrimp in each roll. There was one piece where the flour tasted border line spoiled. Blehhh... BBQ Pork Pastry ($6.38) - One of my favorites and it's a good thing I didn't order 2 because it was tiny and dry. Disappointing. Preserved Egg and Pork Congee ($10.98) - Blander than congee normally is. Pass. Deep Fried Sesame Ball ($6.38) - Sufficient. Egg Custard Tart w Milk ($6.38) - Mhmm I prefer the one with the vibrant yolk. Usually another favorite but I wasn't too excited for this. This meal was cramped and stressful with awful service. Pricing is on the expensive side. If this was cheap dim sum I wouldn't expect any service but for these price tags, they should staff up and treat their customers better.

Food: 4/5 Service: 3.5/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Came here to celebrate birthday. 6 of us were the first customers. Parking was easy since we got here early. The place look upscale with all the decorations and cleanliness. We ordered multiple items to try. We asked for hot sauce and they gave us one set of sauce which included small cups of soy sauce, mustard and hot sauce. I was very disappointed because for this type of restaurant they should be showering us with that type of thing. Service is just ok, just like typical Chinese restaurants. The food tastes similar to other mid level dim sum restaurants. So why would I pay extra money for just to get similar taste and service as other places?

Stellar service, delicious food, and comfy booth seats. I met three of my girl friends here for a weeknight dinner and we all had a wonderful time eating dim sum for dinner. The great thing about eating at Asian places is you can always do family style so everyone can have a bite or two of a variety of different dishes. We got all shareables to enjoy together: the Bunny-shaped Coconut Pudding 椰汁兔子糕, Stir-Fried Rice Noodle 炒牛河, Sticky Rice Wrapped in Lotus Leaf 荷香糯米雞, Deep Fried Chicken Wings with Salt and Pepper 椒鹽雞翅, Ginger, Chicken, Shrimp and Pork Bun 勁薑雞包 and more! Every dish was seasoned very well, and I remember my friend especially liked the Deep Fried Chicken Wings with Salt and Pepper 椒鹽雞翅 since she never had it made like this before. It's one of my favorite staple dishes at any Cantonese place so I almost forgot just how good it was the first time I had it. To say the least, I agreed! Best chicken wings ever. The other dim sum dihes like the buns and lotus leaf rice also tasted delicious and were served hot and steamy. My friends and I also especially adored the Bunny-shaped Coconut Pudding 椰汁兔子糕. You just can't go wrong by making a dessert shaped like a bunny. It was an instant sell for me. To my surprise, since I am not a fan of coconut-flavored things, this dessert has only a subtle coconut flavor and a great bouncy jiggle and soft texture. It was a melt-in-your-mouth kind of fun dessert. Definitely try it! We came on a weeknight, so it wasn't packed like I've seen in the past. My friends thoroughly enjoyed the comfy booth in the back and got to stay as long as we wanted. Our servers were very attentive and came to check on us a few times and refill our waters, which was very kind. I am already planning another trip back with family. I can't wait to come back and eat more delicious food. Thank you to the staff here for giving my friends and I a wonderful experience for the memories.

We had a family meal here. There were eight people in our group; so, we were able to try a lot of individual dishes. I was a guest; I did not pay the bill, so I will not speculate on pricing. However, I will comment that all of the dishes were tasty and prepared well. The family member who selected this dim sum restaurant made a good choice; and I enjoyed my meal, here.

Chef Tony is a great place to get treated to, but considering the actual price to the quality? It's far disappointing. The large menu with 10% no longer offered, long wait times, and there was a thick hair in our soup. Thankfully our servers were really kind and remade it for us (suspiciously looking like the hair was taken out and then put into a new bowl, but I like to think otherwise). The dumplings were stuck to the long and ripped apart each time. But vegetables are always delicious, I love a-choy and could eat it for an entire day. The soup after the hair incident was great. And dessert always hits amazing, the coconut jelly is adorable, the osmanthus jelly is so sweet and floral. I was expecting a more subdued flavor but I really enjoyed it mixed together! (Slightly sacrilege). I've always popped by Chef Tony's whenever in the area, but unfortunately I think this will be my last. I brought my vegetarian friend thinking that usually dim sum has veggie options but there was meat in almost every dish, they have a vegetarian marker on the bottom of the menu but they also marked oyster sauce as vegetarian. But, if they're less busy, there's a way to ask the server to put a note and make most of the dishes vegetarian; it might just take longer and you might be gambling.

Pan fried taro, fried tofu, sticky rice balls, sticky rice ball with egg yolk, steamed pork bun, juicy pork dumpling.

The food is delightful! I ordered many dim sum dishes including some of their desserts. Their service is great. I recommend that you come 30-40min earlier to be on the waiting list. If you want to eat at 12:30. Come at 11:50. If you have to wait a bit just get some breakfast items at Jj bakery. It's inside the same plaza. The ambiance is modern with authentic decor.

This is a review I wrote two years ago, I don't know why it's disappered. First of all, it's good and crowded. We arrived at 0950, 12/31, and already a queue of about seven or eight groups waiting ahead. Once it's occupied, the second rounds have to wait outside and at least one hour waiting. Second, tips, DON'T order the house special Roast Crispy Chicken with Black Truffle. Yes, it's wonderfully crispy, but the black truffle dipping sauce on the side had no black truffle smell AT ALL. The sauce was tasteless and even a plate of Chinese garlic chives blossom (韭菜花) would be better, even though I don't like to eat Chinese garlic chives blossom. Third, DON'T order any dish that should have a strong fragrance. Like Shrimp and Pork Dumplings with Black Truffle, Deep Fried Durian Pastry. They didn't have the smell they should have. Otherwise, all the rest were good or acceptable. Every dish met the standard, they were traditional, and they were authentic. Here are some recommendations: Shrimp Wonton with House Spicy Sauce. It was mildly spicy, the spicy everyone could handle it. The wonton was full of shrimp, soft, tender, and delicious. The sauce was full of flavor. Deep Fried Japanese Octopus It was only the octopus feet without the body, you could read it from the menu if you know Chinese. It was crispy and very well seasoned. Shrimp Dumpling Which was steamed and fresh, very tasty, and very classic. Textbook level. Deep Fried Shrimp Spring Roll It was deep-fried but not oily at all, which was good, no one likes a mouthful of oil. Rice Noodle Roll with Shrimp Rice Noodle Roll with Minced Beef and Chinese Parsley For the rice noodle roll, the shrimp one was better than the beef one, you still can order the beef one in case you already had the shrimp dumpling, shrimp wonton, and shrimp spring roll, too many shrimp in Cantonese restaurants. Deep Fried Pork Dumpling The personal favorite dish in any Chinese breakfast tea restaurant rarely had a bad one. Coconut Pudding The pudding was in rabbit shape, order it if you have kids with you. The next lunar/Chinese year is the rabbit, it's a good fortune hint. Something not that good: Juicy Pork Dumpling The shape of the dumpling fails. The juice of the dumpling fails. Wok Fried Radish Cake with XO Sauce The green bean sprouts were undercooked, even in their raw stage with an unpleasant smell. The cake was not even warm.

Chef Tony is one of the must try Dim Sum places in LA. I was not surprised it became a 2025 Michelin Guide resturant. Service was excellent as our waiter was really helpful. I couldn't wait for picture and ate one of the bake BBQ pork buns already. My favorite dishes are the truffle shau mae, lotus stick rice, bake BBQ pork bun and hand made shrimp rice roll. I looking forward to come back and try some other dishes.

I really like this place! it's definitely one of my favorite dim sum spots in the 626. It's located right where the old Din Tai Fung used to be. I only wish the space was a little larger because it can get tight, but the food is worth it. Everything is fresh and the flavors are delicious!

Egg tarts arrived cold and squished after we paid.

TK Cafe has thoroughly impressed me off first impression, and if I was closer, I'd probably be a regular here. For how much we ordered, the food didn't take too long to come out and genuinely, was so good. We got a lot here, from the garlic shrimp to the popcorn chicken, and so much more. The popcorn chicken was, without a doubt, my favorite item. We originally came here because a friend said they had the best popcorn chicken, and I'd honestly agree. It was crispy but also still a bit juicy and I feel like most places go heavily into the crisp aspect and it ends up just seeming overcooked. But it was a 10/10 here. The proportions are huge, so it's easy to over order. The crab rangoons were good on the portions and crispness and not overly filled with cream cheese which is nice. The noodles were good, pretty average, same with the Mac salad. The garlic shrimp was a bit overly garlic-y, but it was still good. If you're looking for a new Hawaiian spot, definitely check out TK Cafe. The proportions are huge and the taste is amazing. If I'm ever in Monrovia again, I'd definitely be stopping by!

Here are my thoughts on the following: - har gow: decent and STUFFED with shrimp - siu mai: super juicy and probably the best siu mai I've ever had - shrimp rice roll: decent, nothing to write home about - ham sui gok (deep fried meat dumpling): good, but not as airy as I like them, but still good - soy sauce chow mein: super bland - egg tarts: one of them was perfect, the other two were too runny like they hadn't been set properly, but the custard was sweet and balanced perfectly with the flaky crust - egg yolk bun: my bf really liked these, but I thought the filling was a tad too grainy for my liking All in all, I was pretty impressed with Ocean Bo and would recommend.

The staff were consistently kind, welcoming, and attentive without being overbearing, which made the whole experience feel easy and enjoyable. The restaurant itself was very clean and well-organized. Customer service stood out in a really positive way--everyone was patient, helpful, and genuinely seemed to care that guests were having a good time. Most importantly, the food was high-quality and fresh. The ingredients tasted well-prepared and thoughtfully selected, and the hot pot experience felt both satisfying and well put together. He helped us with our order and kindly explained that because of the rush, the meat and soup might take a little longer to arrive. He reassured us and suggested we grab some cooked food first while waiting for the hot pot. We really appreciated his thoughtful service and patience--it made our experience much more enjoyable. Thank you, Lucas!

It was a bit of a pleasant surprise and immediately sets a comfortable tone. The service was quite impressive... extremely attentive, friendly, and quick. 8/10 for the food. 10/10 for the price point 10/10 for the service. The food was definitely solid for the price point. There were a few misses, but the dishes that landed were executed really well. I definitely recommend checking this place out if you're in the area! Siu Mai 10/10 - Juicy, plump and perfectly executed. Definitely my favorite dish. Bean Curd Skin Roll in Abalone Sauce 9/10 - Flavorful with an excellent texture. The whole dish was well executed. Beef Chow Fun 8/10 - Solid and flavorful. The beef was tender, and the noodles had a great texture. Yangzhou Fried Rice 8/10 - The rice was moist and the seasoning was spot on. Shrimp Egg 8/10 - Soft and well seasoned. Generously portioned with very plump shrimp. Pork Chop Spicy Salt 8/10 - Crispy and slightly salted. It has a really great texture to it. Salted Fish and Chicken with Eggplant 8/10 - Perfectly seasoned and cooked. Generous portions of chicken, salty fish and eggplant. Chicken Feet 7/10 - It was solid. Not the best, but definitely not bad. House Special Crispy Shrimp Rolls 5/10 - The flavor of the shrimp was okay, but the rolls were really greasy. There were three very small rolls, definitely not my cup of tea. Chili Wonton 3/10 - By far my least favorite dish. The wonton skin tasted very flour-y, and hardly had any filling. The filling was also very bland and the chili oil was very underwhelming. By the way, the tea is free (I know, free tea at a dim sum spot).

For dishes like the beef chow fun and steamed fish for about $14.88, making it super affordable for a large group meal. The food came out fresh and hot, and the menu had a lot of variety to choose from. The restaurant gets busy, on weekends but service moved pretty efficiently overall. A perk for this place is that they do have a parking garage, which made parking way less stressful compared to other busy dim sum spots in the area.

We were literally just…read morehere a couple of weeks ago, living our best noodle life, and now it's gone like a ghosted situationship!! I'm now brokenhearted!!! :( We came back ready to reunite with that soy sauce chow mein.... simple, no nonsense, just noodles, bean sprouts, and onions doing exactly what they're supposed to do: minding their business and tasting amazing!! No extra veggies crashing the party and watering things down. As it should be!! And the siu mai? Solid, dependable, and absolutely did not disappoint!!! The kind of duo you start planning your next meal around... until the restaurant disappears on you. Now I'm just here, craving noodles and questioning how a place that serves delicious food would close down!!!!

The food is consistently good, honestly better than a lot of nearby places that charge quite a bit more. What won me over right away, though, was the breakfast combo. Two dim sum items and a hot drink for just $14 is a genuinely good deal. A cold drink is only $1 more (typical HK practice), and you can also take your drink to go for another $1, which is a nice little convenience. I'm pretty particular about milk tea, so I don't say this lightly: their half coffee, half milk tea really hits the spot every time. It's balanced, and satisfying. Beyond the combo, they also serve all the comfort staples, porridge, fried chow mein, Chinese donuts, and my personal favorite, rice noodles with a variety of fillings. It delivers the same comforting flavors you want from a casual dim sum-style breakfast, but without the inflated prices, long waits, and hectic atmosphere that have become so common at more traditional dim sum spots. This place is a solid, dependable replacement for the usual dim sum experience. The restaurant is spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the service is consistently warm and welcoming. The driveway can be a little tricky. It sits right next to the Taco Bell drive-through exit, separated only by a fire hydrant, so it's easy to miss or get confused when pulling in. But it's a small tradeoff for a spot that delivers this much value and consistency.
