We truly enjoyed the food here, it's been a while since I've had real authentic Szechuan food - heavy with the famous peppercorns. This place earns its Michelin Bib Gourmand recommendation. Go early and make a reservation, it fills up quick!

Chengdu Taste never fails. If you are craving real spicy Sichuan food, this is the place to be. Every time I come here, the flavors are bold, authentic, and consistently amazing. My favorite dish that I just tried was the red oil wontons. The sauce is so good and honestly reminds me of the ones at Din Tai Fung, rich, savory, and perfectly balanced with that spicy taste. The eggplant was also incredible and pairs so well with rice. We also ordered the toothpick lamb and the deep fried intestines, which truly never disappoint. Everything is super flavorful, and I love that the toothpick lamb even comes with bell peppers. It's not a Chinese place if they don't serve hot tea. It helps cleanse your palate and balances out all the oil and spice, which makes the whole meal even more enjoyable. I have been coming here since high school and have brought family, friends, and out of town guests, and I have never once been disappointed. Chengdu Taste is a classic for a reason and will always be one of my go to spots.

I love Chengdu taste! I usually go to the one in Rowland Heights but was closer to this one. Service is so so quick! And food is always delicious and great portion sizes. I came during the weekend and found parking right in the font. I had a lot of food to go also.

Incredible flavors -- loved every dish we tried. We got the following dishes and each item made for the perfect balance of flavors: 1. Sliced beef with tofu pudding in Spicy Sauce 2. Spicy green beans 3. Wontons in chicken broth The spicy green beans were perfectly cooked and had a nice char on the outside with a great bite. My favorite dish. Everything was so flavorful and tasty. Fast and friendly service. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Interior looked a bit dated but in a cozy way -- it added to the charm.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall a must try if you're craving Szechuan food in the area.

I'm super new to this style of food and was pleasantly surprised. I found them on the Michelin website and made my way over on a Friday evening. It was bustling but not too busy just the right ambiance for a casual night out. We had the ma po tofu, red chili wontons, and lamb on skewers. It was an exciting new palette for me while still feeling like a really hearty traditional dish. Portions were extremely generous for 2 people and they nicely packed us our leftovers to go. It was about $48 for two

i've been wanting to try this place for a while now and i must say i really like this spot! came here with a friend. i'm not someone who would normally order fish but i liked it. my stomach can sometimes react a certain way to spicy food, but surprisingly i was okay. the servers were relatively attentive, walking around to see who needed more napkins and water.

Chengdu Taste delivers delicious and authentic Sichuan food at an unbeatable price. [[HIGHLIGHT]]With incredible service and a friendly restaurant vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Previously I had only ordered delivery from here, I can say it is definitely worth your time coming to the restaurant and sitting down for an amazing meal.

i like this place, the price is reasonable, and the service is really good. everytime i came here i can always get the rest of the food to go, the size of the plates is large enough for 4 people.

First time here! We have four people in our group. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's very authentic and made me felt like I was in China![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You order by scanning the QR code and submit it from your phone. Staffs are attentive and very helpful. Food is excellent and does not break your bank! Fair warning though as it's very true to Sichuan style and spice level can be overwhelming! I enjoyed every dishes but was also teary throughout the entires meals! Highly recommend getting the skewers as they're on every tables there!

Enjoyed lunch with friend a few weeks ago. Chengdu Taste has been on my list of LA spots for years...and I can't believe I've waited so long to stop by! We had the spicy beef dry pot and the spicy eggplant. Both were incredibly flavorsome, fresh, and well-portioned. Service was quick and efficient. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Decor is traditional and no-frills.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Can't wait to come back to try more of the menu!

We'd been talking about getting Chinese food, and he picked Xiang La Hui, his go-to spot for classic Sichuan. I'd never been before, and was more than happy to try a new spot in the SGV. We met up at noon and stayed until the restaurant wrapped up lunch service and gently pushed us out the door, sometime around 2:30. The space was nice, instantly recognizable as a Chinese restaurant in Alhambra. It was pretty quiet the whole time, a good place for a leisurely catch-up. Service was fast and polite, though the combination of QR code ordering and poor Verizon service was a bummer. I had to cross the dining room to take down the wifi password posted on the opposite wall. We ordered a sizable spread for two people: Chong Qing fried chicken, dan dan noodles, wontons with chili oil, and pea tips with garlic. Everything was delicious, most of all the Chong Qing fried chicken, crispy nibbly bits of breaded chicken stir-fried with green onion and hot pepper. I love dan dan noodles and wontons, and thought both were great, if not the best I've had in the area. The pea tips were lovely, bright green and not spicy, but abundantly flavorful. I'd love to come back to Xiang La Hui and try more of the menu. It seems like a restaurant that does everything well, and I'll keep it in mind whenever I'm craving Sichuan.

The restaurant has a fun atmosphere with red lanterns, outdoor seating, and plenty of TVs and projector screens showing World Cup matches. It feels lively without being overly loud, making it perfect for both group gatherings and casual dinners. Our favorite dishes included: * Jianghu Chili Chicken 江湖辣子鸡 - Extremely spicy and packed with flavor. The lotus root added a nice crunch. * Spicy Stir Fried Clams 辣炒蛤蜊 - Fresh, flavorful, and one of the first dishes we finished. * Sherred Potato 麻辣土豆丝 - Tangy, spicy, and very addictive. * Hand Shredded Cabbage 手撕包菜 - Simple but executed perfectly with great wok flavor. * Chicken Cartilage Skewers 鸡脆骨串 - Nicely grilled and not overly tough. * Sausage Skewer 王中王串 - Classic and satisfying. * Spicy Crawfish 麻辣小龙虾 - Fresh crawfish with plenty of flavor. One thing worth mentioning is the spice level. My husband is a huge fan of spicy food and has tried many Sichuan restaurants throughout Los Angeles. He said this was one of the spiciest places he has visited so far. The biggest surprise was the value. We ordered all of these dishes for under $100 and had enough leftovers to enjoy for two more days. Huge pieces of fried fish wrapped with seaweed! Very crispy and delicious! Not too overly fried or salty! Definitely recommend! This was 9/10 Shanghai Rice Cake ($15) was pretty good. Big pieces of rice cakes that were very chewy and soft! Really enjoyed the sauce not being too salty or greasy! This was very flavorful and delicious! This was 8/10 Tea Smoked Duck - half ($33) was ok. Wish the duck was more crispy and had more meat! A little pricey since there wasn't much duck and it just tasted ok. The meat was a little dry but the hoisin sauce and bun provided made it a little more enjoyable. This was 6/10
