Food was pretty bad. Not sure what's up in this town but they don't know how to cook Mexican food

The one on Stacey Road is always better than the one in Plano/Allen. At least food is consistent and we get what we pay for. The pricing is a little bit high but I'm OK with that for quality and consistent product. We are huge fans of the queso. This is something which is hard to mess up, but there is consistently good. read more

Went to Chepa's for the first time on Mother's Day. What a pleasant surprise! They were super busy, but we were seated almost immediately. Our waiter, Diego, was on point. After bringing us a large basket of tortilla chips and delicious salsa, he took our drink orders (Bloody Mary's were on special) and suggested we check out the brunch menu. My partner chose the Muñecas and I decided on the Benitos. Both were delicious and loaded with meat. Included with our brunch were orders of piping hot sopapillas and fruit. We have been dining at the Chepa's in Allen for 5 plus years and excited about the opening of the new Chepa's on Stacy Road in McKinney. We love the bar and atmosphere at the new restaurant. Food was OK but not the "most authentic" in the area. Chips lacked salt, salsa lacked lime. Most of the food was fairly bland and felt like it was missing seasoning. A little more pricey (Chicken quesadillas for $17?) As a hispanic I had high hopes especially with the great reviews. Maybe we came on an off night. Service was great, constantly checked on and taken care of by multiple people. Atmosphere was nice and would recommend for a more laid back get together with some friends or family. read more

It was our family's first time at Chepa's. The place was not crowded since we went for dinner on a Sunday night past 8 PM. Our server Diego was very warm and made sure that we felt welcomed. We ordered Alfredo's favorite, Chicken Flautas, Chicken Fajitas and a Veggie Quesadillas. While browsing through the beverage menu, noticed that Micheladas had a special on Sundays - ordered one, it was our first time as well. Michelada was nice, we loved the spice and the tomato base - made the drink so much flavorful and nice. The quantity of food was sufficient - we loved the grilled chicken in Fajita's and Alfredo's favorite, they were soft and succulent. Enough grilled vegetables in both dishes, the complimentary chips and Salsa were super nice too. Only issue we faced is with Flautas - that was a to go order and was served first at the table. We don't order Flautas often and confused it with another dish that was supposed to be part of dine in and ended up eating. While the Flautas were nice, our daughter who was waiting for her dish was really disappointed when we got home. To Diego's credit, he did extend us a discount (we tipped him well, shit happens!!). Overall, we liked the experience and will come back for a repeat whenever we have a craving for Mexican food. Happy to support a Mckinney eatery :) read more

My fiancée and I visited Chepa's for the first time last night and decided very quickly we will be coming back soon. The margaritas and queso were exactly what we needed after a long Friday. My fiancée ordered birria tacos with rice and borracho beans and was very satisfied. I ordered enchiladas verdes with rice and borracho beans and was also very satisfied. Sometimes I find the rice or beans at other restaurants can be bland, but these were incredibly flavorful. Izri was our server and he was incredibly attentive and kind. I was very impressed by his speed and how often he checked in on us even during a dinner rush. The entire experience was lovely. read more

We live pretty close to this restaurant so we decided to give it a try for Brunch. It was around 1 PM and restaurant looked fairly busy but we were seated right away. Our server was attentive and the food was good. Portion was definitely filling. Mimosas look a little funny because they come in a wine glass versus a champagne flute (minor detail but stood out because it looks like a half empty glass); they tasted fine though. Knocked one star off because we ordered off the brunch menu which mentions fruit and a sopapilla is suppose to come with your order but we didn't get either. Regarding price, not so bad for brunch but we did think the drink menu was on the higher side ($12-15 for a margarita/other cocktail). Would probably not go without some happy hour pricing. Overall worth going back and trying other plates. read more

I've gone to the new location twice. The street tacos are my favorite...of course they are the only thing I've had and likely will my dish of choice for a while. Those corn tortillas are lovely!!! The meat could use a little more flavor, but the tacos are still quite tasty. read more

Went in last night for dinner, service was overall good. Ordered chili con queso, chicken tortilla soup, birria tacos and Anna's Parrillada. Everything was good other than Anna's Parrillada which was quite bland, not sure if they forgot to add seasoning to the meat. When the bill came, noticed a $2 charge for salsa.
