We came here to celebrate my mom's birthday. Love the remodel, it gives you an old school mobster steakhouse vibe with the leather booths and the dim lighting. The food was great. I had a blue cheese crusted filet and it was cooked perfectly. Mom even got a free slice of strawberry cheesecake for her birthday so that was a nice touch. Now, while the food was great, the service was below standard. I think my water glass was empty more than it had water in it, and at the end of our meal we waited for almost 20 minutes for our check. Which is unacceptable. (Side note this was in a Sunday early afternoon and the restaurant was not but maybe half full) now I know staff is scarce these days and had our server been busy this would not have been as frustrating, but to watch him standing at the host stand chatting with another employee is 100% not ok. Willing to give another chance because the food was good and maybe our server was having an off day, but the lack of attendance was definitely disappointing. read more

On 7 Nov 25 my wife and I celebrated our anniversary. We arrived just before 5 with reservations and was promptly seated. Very quickly our server, Andrea, introduced herself. She took our drink orders, an appetizer order and made sure all was well. My wife ordered the scallops but had them cooked with salt and pepper instead of blackened seasonings and served on a bed of risotto. She loved it. I had the prime rib. Was done to my liking, rare, and was definitely one of the best pieces of meat I've had in years. We finished with a piece of their house made cheese cake with glazed straw berries. It. Was. Fantastic! The ambience and the music is what I like in a fine dining restaurant. Note; there were no screaming kids which is important to my wife and I since we're an older couple. Server started off by saying sorry for the wait, I was in the bathroom Beef carpaccio came out dark brown. Manager said they cook their carpaccio (really?) & he'd take it off the menu since we only had one bite each, but that never happened. I suspect the meat was old. Salad and soup were awful, no words! Ordered the T-bone to split and asked for side plates that never came. All other meals were served 15 mins later. Some of the additions that were ordered never arrived. All of the 4 sides we ordered were undercooked and hidden under cheap grated Parmesan. Desert drinks were poorly made and desert was subpar. Stick with little alleys in Roswell, j Michael prime in canton, or Prime 120 in Woodstock for true fine dining in the Cherokee county area. Extremely disappointed with our entire experience. I was pleasantly surprised about the remodel they did on this restaurant. It was beautiful and the food was delicious! We ordered steaks which were cooked to perfection along with some sharable sides. I had the brussel sprouts which were out of this world! The wine list was amazing and I had the Riesling. I had two glasses it was so good. As far as prices go... it was pricey but the food and service were worth it. It gave me some Ruth's Chris vibes. Do expect to pay over $100 for two people but I promise that it's worth it! read more

My better half took me here for my birthday, last evening. We've not been since they remodeled and reopened. The inside is a complete remodel and is as beautiful as it is striking. It's dimly lit, as many restaurants tend to be. But what makes it great as there are individual table lamps that illuminate the menus and make them easy to read. Our Server was Victoria. She was fantastic and did not miss a beat. She was helpful in guiding us through the menu and providing suggestions. She was attentive and not overbearing. Simply said ... perfect Service. I had the Prime Rib. Victoria said that it was even better than when it was Cherokee Cattle Company and she was not wrong. It was tender, perfectly cooked and delicious. My other half ordered from the Early Menu and had the Chicken San Juan (I think that is what it was called). It was absolutely wonderful and a welcome alternative considering he can't eat beef. As far as Steak Houses go, I think this is a must go. We found it to be superior to any of the Higher End Steak Houses that we've been to. read more

So the ole lady and I was wanting to give her son a back to school dinner so I chose this spot. We had already been to its sister restaurant Marietta diner so I thought it'll be cool coming here. And it did NOT disappoint! The vibe in there was so chill and laid back, at the time we went the crowd was of an older age, which was perfect because we old ourselves. As I looked at the other patrons tables ,all of their plates looked absolutely wonderful. So I ordered the bone in rib eye. We pretty much had steaks all around. We did get crab cakes and wings for appetizers. The food was amazing. The steaks were cooked perfectly! I real don't have any thing bad to say about this spot, our waiter was bomb, Oscar was his name. He was very attentive and pleasant. The whole experience was great, we definitely coming back. And if you're wondering why I didn't give the 5 well the bill was astronomical 400+ and I don't think it was worth $400 though. But still good read more

We went with friends and this is what we got. 1- salmon that was said to be very tasty 2- prime rib that was said to be unseasoned bland, but way over priced 3- scallops that were just average and way over priced for the amount served 4- and lastly, five chicken fingers with a handful of french fries that cost $22 I really missed Cherokee Cattle Co and let me tell you, this isn't it. Very nice environment but way over priced. Too expensive for locals to enjoy regularly. The staff and management were efficient and kind. The onion rings were strangely chewy even after requesting a new batch. Disappointed that the dessert menu was so limited being that this is part of the Marietta Diner family. The prime rib was perfectly done and delicious but can get the same at Longhorn for half the cost. An overall nice experience but unsure if I'll return due to the prices that exceed other similar restaurants in the area. read more

The place looks great, but the food was not the most amazing meal you've had in a long time good, which is what I had hoped a place that looks this good would have. I had a chef's special which had shrimp and scallop on top of a filet that was over-sauced with a balsamic something sauce that was meh. Could have done better than the cheese on top of a Stouffers-like french bread with a honey ranch as the only bread option. That's more like an i-Hop thing than a fancy schmancy place bread. Might give it another chance since the place looks awesome, the service was fantastic, and the food came out quickly. The steak temps were done right, as well. read more

Depends on what you're seeking. Ambiance is good. Nice and relaxed. Food is okay. Two of us and both had to send the steaks back because they were under. A little concerned about that because no manager/assistant manager checked with us. Brianna behind the bar was great. I think the place is over staffed. Lots of people goofing off and standing around which is distracting. (Actually someone was leaning against the wall and enthusiastically using a toothpick.) Basically the food is passable. read more

I won't beat the proverbial dead horse - as all the other reviewers have said: The interior is BEAUTIFUL. I know I visited them once or twice before - but it was so long ago that I cannot remember what the interior looked like previously, but the new interior is very swanky. Add to that, the well-dressed, attractive hostesses and waitstaff - I felt underdressed and a bit out of place (lol) but I plowed forward. This will be a brief review (or brief compared to my usual novels ;-)) I loved my steak. I can cook a mean ribeye, but I have never been able to successfully pineapple-marinade a steak to the point that you can actually taste the pineapple later. Lol. My server was very attentive. Owner touched all tables. Like several other reviewers, I was a bit taken aback by the prices. My Cherokee Western Luau ribeye steak was $45 and my side (baked potato) was $5. My appetizer (ribs) was $18. The Signature Steak soup was $7. The menu is TRULY ala carte. Gus has spoiled us - I thought surely my steak was going to include soup, salad and appetizer. Lol. With tax and tip, my total was around $115. I will definitely go back - but the prices - in this economy - will make it a special occasion only spot for me. In fact, they've got an apple torte with ice cream that I plan on trying within the next month or two. I'm not even a big dessert person anymore, but that apple torte looks delicious! The only things I didn't love about my visit: 1) They sat me in the very first booth at the dining room entrance, so EVERY person that entered - or exited - walked past me ... casting hungry, interested looks at my plate. With my wacky work hours, it's hard to eat lunch or dinner at 'traditional' lunch times / find a dining buddy that's available when I'm available - I'm used to it - so I don't typically get self-conscious dining out alone but this was a bit 'yikes.' I would have much preferred being in a more 'off the beaten path' table. There were tons of available tables - but maybe they were reserved. 2) The steak soup was not what I expected. It was extremely oily and the 'steak' appeared to be chuck / stew meat. It was plated sloppily, with splashes and smears around the bowl edge and even on the surrounding plate. My steak / entrée, on the other hand, was a thing of beauty so I'm not sure what was up with that. Update - I forgot to add that the 'cheese bread' is still complimentary and my server was nice enough to bring me a complimentary cheesecake all boxed up and ready to go. read more

So happy to see an old favorite back to business! Everything is so beautifully decorated with an upscale feel. We started with the crispy calamari which included fried banana peppers and 2 sauces to choose from. The calamari was cooked to perfection, very tender. The garden salad was fresh and contained candied bacon, egg and balsamic vinaigrette. Our mains included ribs, smoked pork chop and prime rib. The meats were cooked nicely, the pork chop was so juicy. Yum! To top it all off, we ordered a few desserts. Chocolate Lava cake, which if you love chocolate, this is your dessert! The warm chocolate oozes onto the cold ice cream. Wow! Apple pie with ice cream too. The whole family was pleased. Definitely will be back for special occasions! read more

We are here this week and ordered the beef stroganoff appetizer, filet, crusted potatoes, mixed grill plate with lamb, filet, and skirt steak, and had the chocolate lava cake with bourbon ice cream. We were there with a party of 10 for New Year's Eve. We had a reservation for 5:15 pm which worked out fine. Our waiter was very attentive and we had two to start with. However, when the entrees were served they were no where to be found. Someone else had to serve the entrees and sides and that girl had to figure out who had what meal by asking the people at our table. Because of the confusion and delay many NY Strip stakes got cold. Some of the appetizers were rushed and the onion soup was like dishwater and also not served hot. NO ONE came back to ask how everything was after the entrees were delivered. BECAUSE several of us had complaints and others needed extra butter, sour cream, etc. PLUS we would have like to opportunity to voice our concerns about the delay in serving the steaks and them getting cold during the process. Server people at our table had the prim rib and found the portion to one small and the meat very fatty. Needless to say several of us had buyers remorse. We had been to this restaurant several times before and were not disappointed. But this time changed all that. For the $126 tab (for two of us) (no drinks were purchased) we really feel we could have gotten a better value for the money elsewhere. read more

I had the prime rib & hubby had the ribeye, both were fine but nothing to write home about. They could have used a bit more seasoning. Sides were good & the portions are large enough to share. He had like 4-5 tables and he managed to keep us all happy. Definitely TOP TIER service!! We had a little of everything. The warm cheese bread they bring to the table is delicious!! We also had steak soup, calamari, candied bacon, shrimp special, and crab cakes for appetizers. Everything was GREAT!! For dinner we went for the table side ribeye and it was cooked to perfection!! Sides we had baked potato and collard greens. For dessert we had cheesecake. Cheesecake was AMAZING!! It was so light and fluffy!! Definitely not store bought! The drinks were also good. We wanted to have a special dinner for our wedding anniversary. Special doesn't even come close to how "Special" it really was! The Hostess was very pleasant (sorry I didn't catch her name) and seated us promptly. From our vantage point we could thoroughly enjoy the ambience overall. Love the new restaurant! Our server Demetri had a high-level of professionalism while being informative, attentive, and courteous. Food was delicious and Filet Mignon cooked to perfection! We LOVE Cherokee Chophouse - it is awesome for a special occasion - birthday, date night, or just when we feel like having a nice dinner. I always get their Filet and it is spot on every time! We love their mashed potatoes, broccolini with garlic and their onion rings. For starters, the bacon and wedge salad are to die for! the portions are pretty sizeable, so we normally end up splitting the starters and the family style sides. Their Cheesecake is incredible and made in house. We also love their cocktail menu - Cucumber Basil Smash is my go-to, while my husband loves the smoked old fashion. Can't say enough good things about this place, we are so lucky to live nearby! read more

This was my second time visiting the Cherokee Chophouse. I went the first time right after it opened and it was mediocre and I promised myself I would not go back. However, a friend of mine asked to go and I revisited it last night. I should have listened to my first impression. I made a reservation and we were seated in a booth right at our reservation time. The waiter was very slow to visit our table, slower to bring us water, and slower to bring our drinks and bread. I ordered onion soup that was not hot, the cheese had not melted and was full of onions and no brooth. They brought my prime rib that I had ordered "rare" and it was medium rare at best. It was unateable so I sent it back and got a rareer piece, but it still was not rare. My dog is enjoying the leftover prime rib as I am typing. Next time I will NOT go back. read more
