Oh, Chickfila, how I have missed you! Back in Texas, CFA is everywhere- I was a little distressed to realize that this part of CA isn't particularly familiar with this chain. Then I drove by late one night last month and realized they were opening up soon! Yelp, no lie, I've been counting down the days til I got to put this delectable chicken back in my mouth again. BF is on a no-bread kick, so in solidarity I ordered the #8 tenders meal instead of my usual sandwich. The regular is best, but the spicy is surprisingly good too, even if you're not a huge spice fan in the first place. In any case, the food was delish- hot and fresh, plenty of ChickFilA sauce packets available from our cashier, and the amazing waffle fries I've missed so much. The meal really hit the spot, and it was cool to see the manager so involved in the lunch rush business- he even brought out our food! They were super busy, likely due to the fact that they're so new- supply and demand, all that jazz- but this location seems a little less than ideal. For starters, the building itself looks like an office building at towers at 2 or 3 floors. Maybe they use the extra space for storage, or they plan to rent out office space up there? No clue, but there was clearly much more space in the building than what was being used specifically for the dining/kitchen. Drive Thru line is poorly placed, but clearly done so in order to maximize the space available for the line to wrap around the building. Unfortunately that line also blocks parking spaces for dine- in customers. Speaking of parking, it really irks me that the first three parking spaces available in the lot are reserved for Employees- who on earth does this!? And then the next three or four are specifically for "Clean Air Cars"?? What the!!? Okay, whatever. So you have to park on the other side of the building to actually get to park your car normally. I can already tell the drive-thru is going to be an issue- as we left, an employee was out directing traffic in the parking lot so that entering cars would stop and let exiting drive thru cars leave. Me and my family visited this spot after one of our friend's recommendation. I am glad we swing by Chick fil A. I tried the number 2 spicy chicken deluxe and my wife tried grilled chicken sandwich, finally my boy had kids menu. All were tasty and satisfying. Kids also enjoyed the play ground which's a good opportunity for families with child. The best part is not the food or environment but the customer service. It's not like I sit around, pining away for a Chick-fil-A sandwich or anything, but today when I was thinking about lunch it popped in my head and I couldn't shake it. I knew what I was getting myself into: driving down El Camino Real from Santa Clara to Sunnyvale, during lunch time on a sunny Saturday, getting in that super long drive-thru line, wasting maybe 20 minutes of my life in the car just to get my lunch, or maybe I would get lucky and spot an open parking space, just as it opened up so I could go inside and pack myself with the other sardines, hoping to get their chicken on. Seemed like a reasonable idea for some reason, so off I went. I wasn't the only one. Many of us flipped a u-turn on El Camino moved to the far-right lane and jammed up traffic a bit, wating for our turn to enter the parking lot, then later the drive-thru line. Why would we do this? Lightly-fried chicken, waffle fries, some sauce to dunk it all in perhaps. The way we were all doing it in spite of the inconvenience you would think the meaning of life were in those white paper bags, but no, just some yum chix. Still it made perfect sense. So I did it. I looked inside and scanned the parking lot. I wasn't going to put myself through that today. So I snaked through the parking lot and into the really long drive-thru line which runs around the perimeter of the property, accommodating maybe 18 cars, unless the drivers are leaving a Facebook buffer in front of their car. All this waiting, then less than 30 seconds ordering. The menu is not too complicated, and for me it always comes down to two options: if I want bread I'm having combo 1, the OG chicken sandwich with waffle fries and a drink. If I'm not into a bun and pickle then it's combo 3 Chick-fil-A nuggets, waffle fries and a drink. They have other stuff. I'll never try it. There's no reason. I'm surprised that I even tried combo 3 one time and occasionally get it, because ever since the 15th Earl of Sandwich and a chicken who shall remain nameless made the Original Chicken Sandwich I have been hooked. No, that didn't really happen. As far as I know. Or did it? Did any of this happen? Then there's the sauce. I'm gonna write a whole paragraph about it because condiments deserve equal time, and the Polynesian sauce and Chick-fil-A sauce stomp on all other food chain sauces. But not Heinz ketchup. Nothing touches that. It's my jam. Yeah, I said it. When you drive up to get your goods they confirm your order, take your money and ask if you want any sauce. I ask for one, then the other. Sometimes I get the stink-eye for ordering two. I don't care. It's not like I'm gonna run them out of sauce or anything. Give it to me. Thank you. Chick-fil-A is hard to beat. This Chick-fil-A location is AMAZING! The food is great and pretty consistent and the customer service is EXCELLENT. I've taken food to-go, gone through the drive-thru, and ate in the restaurant and I've always had a great experience. For my drive-thru orders, they never mess up or miss any items. For my dine-in orders, the servers always come out to the table and ask if you need anything else. They don't hound you about the sauces and all the sauces taste so good! If you haven't already tried the Chick-fil-A sauce, you should definitely give it a try. The location is close to other businesses and the restaurant is always clean and neat. The only drawback about this location is the parking and how busy it can get. Be ready for a packed place when eating during prime times. read more

I ordered over $80 of food at the Sunnyvale CA branch. When I went to my car, I found out that I am missing all the fries and Mac and cheese (2each). I went back into the restaurant and told the manager about it. He didn't believe me and wanted to inspect my car. He followed me out and actually inspected my whole car and the 2 bags that I received for fries and Mac and cheese! I was very offended and upset because even while he was inspecting my stuff he still asked me if I really didn't receive any fries or Mac and cheese. When we went back inside all he said was "everyone make mistakes". I told him that his actions showed he didn't trust the customer and was very rude. read more

Word of caution - If you decided to mobile order from this location TRIPLE check your order before leaving the restaurant! This particular location is all sorts of bad. My fiance's family wanted to get Chick-Fil-A for dinner last night. There were 8 of us so instead of trying to drag everyone down to the restaurant I decided to place a mobile order via their app system. It took us a while to place the order because we painstakingly made sure absolutely everything was correct in the app and that we had all of the sauces we wanted (chick-fil-a sauce to be more specific!) since the sauces are what make the meal delicious. My fiance and I headed down to the restaurant and ended up waiting about 10 minutes for them to finish preparing the food. After they handed me the bag I looked through it to make sure that we ordered was in there since we ordered quite a few things. I noticed that they had forgotten the wrap we had ordered. I let them know and they apologized and had it ready for us in a few minutes. We drove away and then realized that they had not put ANY of the sauces we ordered in the bag! Extremely frustrated we turned back around and drove for almost ten minutes in the rain to get back there. All this time we had chick-fil-a soft serve melting and our fries getting soggy. It's a shame that service was so poor. The location itself was actually well staffed to the point that there were 2-3 people standing around at anytime. Everyone there was friendly, but it looked like a few people were goofing off behind the counter because business was slow that night. My non Southerner friends think I'm crazy when I mention Chick-Fil-A. They don't understand that the chain is very pervasive in the South (especially Georgia, where I am from). They also don't know that in my high school, a really popular fundraiser was to have someone buy a cooler full of Chick-Fil-A chicken biscuit sandwiches and sell them to poor unsuspecting students for a measly $2. As a high school student, how can you pass on this delicious greasiness? Anyway, I only eat Chick-Fil-A every 6 months - 1 year because I've relocated to the West Coast and they simply aren't widespread here (probably because the West Coast touts healthy food right). I had a random craving for Chick-Fil-A so I drove to this spot in Sunnyvale. I digress. I ordered some chicken biscuits. I like these because if you get them fresh the chicken tends to be quite juicy and the buttery biscuits are a nice complement. Some people complain that the chicken doesn't have anything on it, and that's correct. I think the idea is that the chicken is soaked in some kind of magical pickle brine where it gets most of the flavor. You can also add sauce to it (hot sauce, ketchup, mustard, or mayo - my favorite). NOTE that for this particular store, you can only make a right turn into this parking lot from El Camino Real. There is only one way and out and one way in as far as I can see, so you are forced to make a right onto W. El Camino Real. It's kind of tricky when you want to make a U turn since there are always cars on El Camino Real. read more

The reason I give this branch a 5* and my previous go-to branch 4* is the facilities. They have an awesome play area that the kids just love. I can't believe I'm doing this - but I LOVE chick-fil-a. It's one of my favorite fast food restaurants (maybe my favorite... even over in n out!). This location is pretty big but the parking and drive-thru do get crowded. We usually come here late at night and there's always still tons of people around. As usual, service is super friendly and food is delish. We have tried ordering on the mobile app when the line was extraordinarily long, but it ends up taking even longer on mobile. Would recommend just staying in line if you're debating! Also, pro tip: get the oreo milkshake. You won't regret it! read more

I never understood the Chic fil A hype until I paid a visit to this restaurant a few weeks back. Now I understand. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with waffle fries and it was DELICIOUS. The Chick-fil-A sauce is what completes the sandwich. I don't really what is all in their sauce but it is tasty. When you order, they give you a bowl and they will put in as many sauces as you would like. They have a wide range of sauces to choose from BBQ to Honey Mustard to Sriracha sauce. Yum!! Their waffle fries are on point as well. They are better than regular fast food french fries. The food itself comes out really fast and the employees actually bring it to your table which is a plus. I don't really know of any other fast food joint that brings food to your table. The restaurant itself is very clean and there were always workers coming around and picking up trash off the floor, taking out the trash, and busing tables non stop. PS: The parking lot is crazy! Who doesn't like Chick-fil-A? The food is fantastic. The restaurant is clean. The lemonade is fresh. The customer service is probably the best in fast-food and better than most fast-casual restaurants. This particular location might be the best that I've visited. Chick-fil-A is relatively new in the Bay Area, so we were pleased when it opened (preventing the need to travel for a good chicken sandwich). It is good enough to justify driving to Sunnyvale solely for the purpose of dining here. If I have any disappointment with this location, it's the lack of parking. It isn't that there is not enough parking. Rather, it's that this place is almost always busy. There have been a few times where I can't find a single spot. The mechanic shop next door has closed, so I hope that some of it might be converted into extra parking. read more

I've got friends who used to drive from Palo Alto to San Jose just to get Chick-Fil-A. I've never felt the urge to drive more than a couple miles to get fast food, so I could never understand how they could be so enamored with this restaurant. But then again, if someone were to open a White Castle in Pleasanton, I would probably make the trip. Anyways, I've had Chick-Fil-A just a couple times in the remote past, in the Midwest. But this place opened in Sunnyvale, so it was more accessible. Still, it took a while for me to finally make my way here. I tried their spicy chicken sandwich with some extra hot sauce, and it was surprisingly good. The chicken was crisp at first, but got a little soggy by the end. The fries were disappointing - not crisp at all from the outset. The kids' meals were substantial, and it's nice that they offer fresh fruit cups as an option, as opposed to the applesauce or apple slices that are standard at most fast food joints. The toy that came with it was also unexpectedly good - a card game, not a cheap plastic action figure that ultimately ends up in the landfill. My other half had a salad, which was generous and the lettuce was fresh. Biggest disappointment, however, was the ice cream, or whatever they call it. It was more of an ice milk, and had a coarse texture and watery flavor. So anticlimactic after an otherwise decent meal. read more

This is definitely my FAVORITE Chick Fil A location in the bay area for a number of reasons. The food is always on point and the employees are always so genuinely nice and remember your name and the pronunciation of it. They are also not stingey on the sauces! This place is fairy smaller compared to the other Chick Fil A locations but it always gets packed and they are super fast with the orders. I'd say the only negative of this location is the location. The high ceiling, fresh flowers and table service make this place classier than other fast food restaurants. It look less "upscale" today than when it first open, perhaps because it got more popular. I've been to two other Chick-fil-a locations. The one in Los Angeles has the best food. I remember loving the Spicy Chicken Deluxe Sandwich there, while it was not nearly as good here or the Roseville location. If you don't like spicy, the Spicy would be too spicy for you. I like the Asian Salad. They put very strong flavors in their chicken, so you need veggies to offset it. I strongly caution against getting the non-deluxe chicken sandwich because it can be too salty and strong without veggies. Their barbecue sauce don't go well with their sandwiches. It is too similar to the already strong taste of the chicken. I recommend offsetting the chicken with mayo. I like the chick-fil-a sauce as well. I haven't tried many of their sauces. Their soft-serve is above average for fast food, though not the best ever. I prefer normal fries over their waffle fries. I don't crave their food, so I only come once in awhile. read more

This Chick-fil-A is honestly the worst run of any which I've been to. They are insanely slow. No less than 3 times they have missed items in my drive-through pickup order, made through the app. I'm not talking about a sauce being missing (which happened to be an additional thing missed tonight), I'm talking about sandwiches being completely missing from the order. The first time I unfortunately went all the way home before I realized it. The next two times I realized items were missing because from then on, I had to actively check that all items were actually in my bags. The pickled brine (marinade) and the pressure cooking delivers a truly unique taste of simple yet delicious flavors served as chicken, pickle, bun or "deluxe" cheese, lettuce, tomato. The spicy chicken deluxe sandwich is my favorite and my go to meal (pictured). The Sunnyvale, California location is reviewed and for health the grilled chicken sandwich meal is 800 calories but the fried chicken sandwiches will likely have you return as a repeat customer. Ketchup, Mustard, Mayo, Hot Louisiana Sauce pepper and salt are available in abundance inside the store but the chicken sandwiches do not need sauces because the flavors already emerge during the cooking process up to you. The other sauces remain behind the counter and if you get creative mixing sauces and flavors you are sure to find more "deliciousness". read more

Hey Arnold, I really love your store, the food here, and the employees. There are just a couple of policies that I am hoping you would help change. 1. Let the customers pay for giftcards using Apple/Google Pay. I don't get why I can order food with my phone but not buy a gift card for a friend... This is a strange rule and does not make sense since all the other restaurants let customers pay for giftcards using any major payment method. Please change this policy. 2. Let us use the first 100 coupons that corporate gave out on other menu items! Lots of other CFA stores allow this in SoCal, could you please help enable your employees to let us pay the difference and enjoy other items on the menu besides #1 and chicken nugget meal? I spoke to the corporate CFA marketing team and they said paying for the difference is totally up to each individual store to do this that's why some stores allow it.
