Unfortunately I can't give 0 star. I rarely write reviews, but my experience at this restaurant today was shocking and unacceptable. We arrived at 12:30 PM as a party of three. One of our friends was running late and joined us at 12:44 PM. In the short time we waited, the owner, Michael, was visibly irritated, which already felt uncomfortable. When our friend arrived, we ordered immediately. Strangely, her meal was served within 10 minutes, but my partner and I waited another 30 minutes for our food (fried chicken, mac and cheese, and grilled chicken). It's basic restaurant etiquette to serve a party together, not one person first and the others significantly later. We finished our meal and ordered more food. By 2 PM, Michael began making passive-aggressive comments, such as, "I'm dying for this table to be cleared." Feeling unwelcome, we quickly paid and left. As we were saying goodbye to our friend outside the restaurant, Michael came out and rudely accused us of sitting at the table for 3 hours (not true--we sat down at 12:30 PM and left at 2 PM). He even said, "I could have taken someone to the airport and back in that time" and complained that he could have turned over four tables instead. What was most appalling was when he insulted our friend, loudly saying, "I hope you'll never sell a house" (our friend is a real estate agent, which he must have overheard during our conversation). His tone was rude and unprofessional, and several nearby tables heard his outburst. As someone who own a restaurant and worked with customers for years, I know this is not how you run a business. If there's a strict seating policy (like a 1.5-hour limit), it should be clearly communicated--not enforced with passive aggression and public humiliation. Michael, I'm sure you'll read this review. I strongly urge you to leave your anger and frustration out of your interactions with customers. We came to your restaurant to enjoy a meal with a friend, and you completely ruined the experience. This was the rudest, most unprofessional treatment I've ever received in the 10 years I've lived in the U.S. Your behavior today was unacceptable. read more

Sat outside on a Friday. Was sat quickly after arriving (didn't make reservations, really casual and not sure if that's a thing at this restaurant). We had a chicken breast, side of green beans and the chicken pot pie special. Happy hour must be all night because it was a Friday around 6:30pm and drinks were on special. Looks like another place in Palm Springs I will not be returning to. I have been coming to Chicken Ranch for years. I've been there when every table was full and still had good service and the food wasn't bad. Today it was a fail on every level. I ordered some cold chicken on my salad. When the food was brought out it looked like chicken that came off a baked drumstick and it was pink. When I asked Tyre my server about it he just said it's cooked and walked away. Not only did it not look appetizing there was barely any added to my salad. I felt ripped off. For 8 bucks I expected a side of chicken not a few pieces thrown in. My server also forgot to bring an item I specifically asked him to bring and after my food was dropped off I was completely ignored. My server had three other tables so not like he was working the room. He even had time to stop for a chat with the other server by my table and it was annoying to listen to. I asked my server for the check and let him know this was the worst salad I had there. He shrugged it off instead of offering a solution or offering to bring me something else which is what he should have done in the first place. No apologies. Horrible and unprofessional service. I won't be back. I can't believe I was recommending this place to anyone. I guess they can afford to lose customers in this economy. read more

Yes, they really mostly serve chicken. But every single dish is fresh, delicious and slightly elevated. The fried chicken sandwich with Sriracha coleslaw is amazing.
