Great comfort food with some seriously satisfying portions!…read more I recently checked out Monty's in Alhambra and had to try their Legendary Chopped Cheese, Bacon Breakfast Burrito, and Chicken & Waffles. The Legendary Chopped Cheese was definitely a highlight. The bread was fluffy and soft, and the meat was well-seasoned and flavorful. The ketchup and mayo combination reminded me of a thousand island-style sauce and added a nice creamy, tangy flavor to the sandwich. The Bacon Breakfast Burrito definitely didn't skimp on the fillings. It was packed with fluffy eggs, bacon, and crispy waffle fries. There was so much egg in this burrito that it was definitely a filling meal--and the waffle fries were a fun addition. The Chicken & Waffles were also delicious. The chicken was juicy, crispy, and well-seasoned, while the waffle was denser with a nice crispy exterior. I recommend adding maple syrup and hot sauce for that sweet-and-spicy combination. Overall, Monty's is a solid spot for anyone craving hearty comfort food with generous portions. I'd definitely come back to try more of the menu!

It was a little hot in here but we sat against the wall & decided on the legendary chopped cheese, the chicken caesar salad sandwich & the chicken and waffles. The chopped cheese was so good, I wish I had gotten a sauce to drizzle over it. The bread was also really good. The Caesar was really refreshing. The chicken was crunchy & flavorful and the waffles were soft with a slight crunch. My ONLY thing, which is SUPER minor but they dont have water here so if you bring kids that aren't allowed to drink sodas, bring your own drinks!

Depending on your taste, you can have it very spicy or none at all. The flavor of the pan roast was very good. I had mine medium spicy level. If it is too spicy, you cannot get the real taste of the dish. The restaurant is nice and clean. Service staff were friendly. This place is located at a very busy plaza where there are many restaurants. There is underground parking but it can be a problem during peak hours.

Creamy and tomato-y. Shrimp was cooked well but the mussels were a bit overcooked. Would probably get the shrimp one next time instead of house specialty. Shrimp and grits: shrimp was overcooked, grits were fine. Super cheesy! Oyster poboy: pretty good. Oyster isn't my first choice but it was done well. Came with fries but we upgraded to the clam chowder. It was only ok. Chowda tots: fries and tots were very crispy, cooked perfectly. Toppings though made it more like a salsa or loaded potato. Nothing about it felt like chowder.

If we…read morewalked & cut through the golf course from Vincent Lugo Park, it's easily about a mile or so. Today was definitely the perfect day. Knowing what I know now as I write this review, we would return & bring friends here. It's about 78 to 80°F on a Friday a few minutes before 1 pm, surprisingly, it was low key--only a couple tables taken indoors by patrons and a set of guys on the patio. At the door, it said to seat ourselves & I immediately shot to the patio. The set up: once seated, the server comes with menus, you order & it's a sit down meal. Giselle was our friendly & attentive server, young & attentive. Hubby ordered the breakfast burrito ($11.50) & I opted for build your own omelette $11.50 for a 3 egg omelette & choice of two items- mushroom and bell peppers accompanied with breakfast potatoes, and chilaquiles ($13.99) to share. The patio seating is fresh, airy, there are tables, outdoor furnitures (sofas) and bright orange umbrellas for shade. My photos captured these elements. The food arrived shortly, although not all at once. I didn't mind it all because the ambiance was so soothing with the sound of birds chirping away and the background of other patrons talking. The only complaint from Hubby was too many pototo chunks in his burrito. My omelette was hot, fresh ingredients, delectable & the potatoes were mixed with 3 colors of bellpeppers. Oh and the chilaquiles? Pretty darn good! The tortilla chips were crispy, perfect amount of green salsa, freshly diced onions & a sprinkling of cotija cheese. Was I famished or was it that good that I devoured everything? What's left was Hubby's potato chunk discards. Giselle returned a few times to ensure our experience is to our satisfaction & another staff also stopped by to check on us. Such a perfect meal & day-- I'm so happy with this visit. Parking is plentiful & free.

We had a reservation so we were seated right away on the second floor, just above the bar. The music was a little on the loud side so conversation was a little strained. The food was absolutely amazing. Our server was very friendly and informative but was not quite as attentive as we would expect for an establishment like this. This was our first time here, so we had to try the Asparagus Fries. The asparagus was cooked to perfection but the batter did not have much flavor. Members of our party ordered the California Salad, a Veggie Burger, the Meatloaf and a Picante Pizza. The California Salad was smaller than expected but delicious. The Veggie Burger was excellent! The Meatloaf was the hit of the table. It was so good that my wife did not offer a taste to any of us. She was in food Heaven. The pizza was exactly as described and tasted wonderful. Since we were celebrating my birthday, our server brought me a delicious piece of double chocolate cake with a candle in it. Nice touch!! We also had one of their Warm Butter Cake's with some excellent vanilla ice cream on top. Absolutely wonderful!. This may be our new "go-to" place. Looking forward to return to savor the other items on the menu. Their drinks looked delicious as well, so we will definitely try those too.

Ube French Toast -- Deep-fried toast stuffed with a house-made ube filling, topped with coconut flakes, blueberries, maple syrup, and ube condensed milk. The sweet and savory combination was such a surprise--in the best way! Nashville Hot Chicken Benedict -- Crispy Nashville hot chicken with poached eggs, hollandaise, Cajun mayo, pickled cucumber, and coleslaw on an English muffin. So flavorful with just the right amount of heat. We also had to try two of their signature drinks! The famous Potted Plant Coffee was such a fun experience! A creamy latte topped with Oreo "dirt" and served with a tiny sprout, making it look just like a real potted plant. It tasted just as good as it looked! Egg Coffee was another first for me! It's made by whipping egg yolks with sugar until they're light and frothy before pouring coffee over the mixture, creating a rich, smooth, custard-like coffee that's unlike anything I've had before. A huge thank you to Shawn for being so welcoming! He gave us amazing recommendations, was incredibly kind, and made our first visit even more enjoyable. Great food is one thing, but great hospitality is what keeps people coming back. As Popping Yolk says... "Breakfast is a meal. Brunch is a culture." After eating here...I totally get it.

My drinks were a little underwhelming i think id stick with the starwberry basil lemonade. I got the strawberry lychee breeze and even after mixing//stiring the drink. It didnt feel refreshing. The lychee pudding or the white stuff was warm no matter how long it sat in the drink. The honey latte felt like it was mostly milk as well and not enough coffee.
