Kung Pao Chicken, Chicken Chow Mein (Small Tray), #11. Wonton Soup.

I was impressed with the food and the price for what I got. The service was amazing and quick. Music was great so great to eat and forget of everything else while you enjoy the amazing food.

Been driving by this place for years I heard they remodeled and new owners I think anyway it nice inside believe it or not we thought driving by it was just a take place no it's actually pretty clean and new inside . I definitely would go back its very clean and good food . We both enjoyed it very much . We ordered salt and pepper calamari and chicken chow mien and general Taos chicken excellent choice all breast meat very tasty. So if you are wondering try them next time you feel like Chinese we are going back

I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately the food completely missed the mark. Every dish we ordered was shockingly bland--absolutely flavorless and under-seasoned. I've never in my life had to add salt to Chinese food, but tonight it was necessary just to make it palatable. To make matters worse, the portions were incredibly small considering the price point. The Mongolian beef had more onions than beef in it and the lemon chicken was very low in protien compared to breading. For what we paid, I expected far better quality and quantity. Chinese food is usually a comfort meal packed with bold flavor, but this was anything but. Disappointed and won't be reordering.

China Chef in Pleasant Hill is a completely new experience. It has been renovated and has a new professional staff. The ambiance of the new renovation and the excellent food preparation served by the new staff is terrific. The name is the same but everything else has changed. I highly recommend it.

We wanted take out for the whole family and decided to try a place we had not ordered from in the past. We can't speak to the ambiance since we got take out but I can say we loved everything. We tried the following dishes: Vegetarian Egg Rolls Egg drop soup Chicken skewers Chicken Chow Mein Combination Fried rice We really enjoyed everything. The chicken skewers being more like fried chicken was unique and delicious. The egg drop soup was one of the best I've ever tried. The kids ate all the noodles and even though we ordered a ton of food we had no leftovers. That is the highest compliment I can offer! Give them a try!

My wife found China Chef by ordering from a delivery service for dinner to order for our toddler son. She didn't ask me before ordering and chose dishes like salt and pepper shrimp and fried rice. Our son loves fried rice and will usually eat any type of protein with this dish. My wife ordered beef and broccoli as well to try a new Chinese restaurant with good reviews. We all really liked the food, the fried rice is packed with flavor and the salt and pepper shrimp was really well fried and seasoned. We liked this restaurant and ordered takeout soon after our first delivery service. I ordered the salt and pepper pork chops for a takeout order while including fried rice for our boy. We all liked the food and the sesame balls for dinner are a good dessert. This place is great at frying proteins and making your takeout orders in a hurry! It's located near the Sun Valley mall and easy parking for pickup orders. The salt and pepper pork chops are great. We are happy to find a great Chinese takeout restaurant for days we don't want to make dinner.

We just moved up to WC area and we were looking for a good hole in the wall Chinese Restaurant. Unfortunately China Chef is not it! Ambiance brings me back to the 80's! Not updated at all! Food was mediocre at best. We ordered the Beef Chow Fun, Chicken Fried Rice and the Beef with mixed vegetables. The chow fun was no FUN. Seriously! There were more vegetables than the actual FUN NOODLES! The noodles were thin and not plentiful. The taste was ok, more like oyster sauce poured over vegetables and some noodles. The Beef with vegetables looked like the beef chow fun!! They both looked exactly the same but one had some noodles underneath all the veg. We couldn't even tell which was which! The chicken fried rice was ok, I mean nothing to write home to mom about!! The service was good and the server was nice! I don't think we'll be going back here anytime soon! Sorry!

Online ordering doesn't work, staff even acknowledged it doesn't work half the time. So after waiting over an hour, had to call in, give my order over the phone and wait over another hour for delivery. Once the food arrived my Mongolian beef was more like Mongolian Onion. Never in my life have I ordered a dish, other than perhaps the bloomin onion from Outback, and gotten a plate of damn near all onion. What the hell?!?

Yum yum yum! Got some delicious combo fried rice, sweet and sour chicken and green beans! Absolutely a must try! I will definitely be back

My personal favorites were the mango sago and the pork adobo. I grabbed a bunch of onigiris to go and we even ordered more food to go. The mango sticky rice drink goes as well as you can expect with sticky rice trying to be sucked through a straw , but nonetheless delicious . By the time I got to the bingsu I barely had room I was so full. Same owners as Yifang, Super nice couple. Everything was clean. I…read moreactually tried contacting them multiple times via social media and via email to see if they could cater or if I could order dessert in bulk for a party back in January and never got a response. Even with that said, I still wanted to support. My mom and I wanted something quick and filling but didn't want burgers or tacos in the area so we decided to finally try Maymay's. I didn't realize it shared the same space as Yi Fang, so keep in mind it really is a place to snack and not dine. I read someone saying they had the best sinigang and adobo so I had to try it. I ordered one chicken adobo and one pork adobo. The girl who rang me up told me I would be called when my order was ready. She was preparing the rice and another male employee came out and was packing the meat and left it on the counter. She asked why he packed 2 pork adobos and his response was enough for me to not want to come back. He had a NASTY attitude and smart remark, he basically said it was obviously not the same and that he knows how to read the ticket and it honestly just made me feel hella awkward for the girl because of the way he talked to her. She seemed like she shook it off and then proceeded to tie the bag of my order. She then asked him if he wanted her to transfer the adobo he brought out in a pot from the back and he didn't respond. She then left my order on the counter without saying anything and started transferring the food anyway. So now I'm like.............. is my order ready or nah? I made my niece ask cus it was hella awkward and before that whole encounter another employee just started her shift. She was also the one who responded and was handing me my order and reading her face you could tell she also felt awkward about the situation and apologized. After the man left I asked the girl who rang me up if they were related or if he was just rude af and she said that they were and that it was her brother in law and the other girl mentioned he was the owner/boss. Regardless of being related or not I wouldn't want to work in an environment like that. What made it even worse was the food wasn't even that great lol. I'm sure there aren't a lot of people in Walnut Creek that know what adobo is supposed to taste like. When my mom and I took a bite my mom literally said "why is it like this?" Before I could even get a word out LOL but I was thinking the SAME thing. The adobo was HELLA sweet. It didn't have that savory and tangy flavor it's known for. There was no sour/salty/garlic coming through it seemed like just sugary meat like bad teriyaki... it was weird. The portions are decent but it doesn't matter if it's not getting eaten. Ugh, I just hate wasting food and I paid $18 each. Also a lot of the bowls were taken up by 3 hard boiled eggs. My daughter who has a sweet tooth on the other hand didn't complain but what 3 year old doesn't love sugar lol. My experience and the food was disappointing. I wouldn't come back unless it was for Yi Fang.

I came across another Yelper's review and decided to try out Okini Sushi, in Pleasant Hill. It's a few miles off the 680 freeway, located in a scenic neighborhood. I ordered a delicious crab meat salad topped with avocados and I ordered off of the Happy Hour menu, with an aloha roll, it is a crabmeat, cucumber roll salmon on top with seaweed salad decorating the top of the roll. I ordered the mini chirashi don, which was a perfect main dish with five large slices of sashimi over rice, seaweed salad and a couple of nice spices of tamagoyaki (rolled egg), plus miso soup and a side salad. Easy listening music plays in the background, the wait staff are very nice and polite. The family at the next table with two little kids were given cute children's sectioned plates with kids' chopsticks, which was very convenient for the four year old to use, however, the two year old wasn't big enough to use chopsticks. This was a perfectly delicious lunch, with enough leftovers for a later dinner meal. Do try out this restaurant if you're driving along in the East Bay on the very long 680 freeway, it's a detour of five miles in land. There is plenty of parking here, it's located next to a barbecue shop with sauces, which I'll need to check out afterwards.
