I think I'll be ordering from here more often when I'm craving Chinese and don't want to leave my home! I ordered walnut shrimp and pork and chive dumplings for lunch. Not only was it fairly priced but tasty! I hadn't had walnut shrimp in a minute, and the fact that it was FRIED - great surprise! The portions were enough for two people, and I appreciated the addition of extra sauce packets, oil, and vinegar! Perfect for the dumplings. The food is excellent. I got the spicy ma po tofu and it filled its promise. It was deliciously spicy and even had small chunks of jalapeno. I loved it! The portion was plenty. However a good number of their dishes are not very good, it looks like just a bunch of stuff tossed together. So you really have to know which dishes is good. This is another one from the "going outside my comfort zone" files, where I try to go outside my normal areas and find restaurants that may not have gotten a lot of reviews. This time I was craving some good Chinese and specifically wanted a restaurant, as opposed to a fast food-type place, which led me here. First impression upon walking in was very positive - interior looks nice, staff looks professional and competent. While I've been burned in the past with this, I had a pretty good feeling that the function would match the form, and I was right. I went with a pretty basic order, mostly because I knew what I wanted out of this trip. Specifically, fried wontons and beef fried rice, the later being one of my favorite foods ever. The sweet-and-sour sauce with the fried wontons was a bit too watery and drippy to me, and seemed to be a bit more on the sweet side, but I liked it. Either way, it was just a warm-up for what I -really- wanted - the beef fried rice. When I look at fried rice at Chinese restaurants, I look primarily for two things - in addition to taste, I look for value relative to portion size. Part of the reason for the latter was going to a place in Hayward a few years back that gave a heaping large plate for a great price, so I tend to evaluate fried rice through that lens as well as the usual "does it taste great?" litmus test. The fried rice here isn't quite full marks on both fronts, but still passes quite squarely. Pricewise, the price is fair, but the portion size is just a bit small. Of course, as someone who could eat fried rice by the quart easily, my definition of "small" might be someone else's "just right." Tastewise, it was satisfying but probably could have used a bit more seasoning. Again, this is probably more personal preference than anything, so your mileage may very well vary. While it's not the greatest food or the nicest restaurant I've been to, it's perfectly fine for what it does. If this place were a bit more convenient to get to from my normal neighborhoods and on my normal schedule, I'd definitely come back again sometime. read more

Whenever I eat here I usually order the 3 dish family combination, which also comes with soup and steamed rice. It used to be $20, which was a crazy good deal. The price went up a bit, but is still a great price compared to other places and they have a stamp card that makes the 11th meal free. There are several dishes I like from that menu. Some of my favorites include beef chow fun, broccoli beef, salt and pepper fish/pork, sautéed stringbeans, and Shanghai spare ribs. They also allow for dish upgrades if you want something else on the menu for an additional price, just ask. The owner is usually there and will work with you. Sometimes we upgrade the beef chow fun to egg beef chow fun, which is more liquidy. The honey walnut chicken is also one of my favorites, but isn't included as one of the family dish choices. It's a great alternative to honey walnut prawns and is much more filling for the price. I haven't been too adventurous with their menu, but I'm sure their other dishes are great as well! Once in a while they come check on us and are pretty good with keeping our water glasses topped up, but if they don't, it's not a big deal. The restaurant is small, so it's relatively easy to get someone's attention if anything is needed. read more

Mushu dishes are served with flower tortillas, thought they just ran out when I ordered but they have been given with the order every time now. My wife and I used to come here for takeout after our gym sessions. The owners are from Hong Kong and their food is really good. The place usually isn't too busy and it's a huge plus that they participate in some of the local delivery services. We usually order their dinner sets where you can pick out several items and have a side of rice and soup that they include in their combos. Our orders were usually kept fresh and they usually cook everything made to order unlike some other places where it's all laid out and gets cold. The portion sizes are great for the price that you pay and the friendliness of the owners help make everything a pleasant experience. Parking for this place is not hard as the main parking is shared with all the other areas like 24hr fitness and little caesars. My favorites are the curry chicken & lemon chicken. It comes with rice, salad and soup. The portions are generous too! MY GO TO DIM SUM PLACE!! Not only is it close by, it's freaking delicious! It's also very reasonably priced. This place is probably the cheapest dim sum place I know, and it's not just the price that makes me happy, it's the taste and quality of the food as well! The price here is literally half of what you pay at most dim sum places, so when I first saw the prices, I expected the food to be basic, average or even below average. So judgmental of me, but I take my expectations back once I was proven wrong. Some of the dishes here are the BEST I've ever tasted. One of those "best I've ever had" dishes is the "fried taro with minced meat." It's buttery, crispy, and full of flavor. They also have the "Chinese donut in rice noodle" dish here which the only other place I know that has it is Dynasty. The rice noodle here is so soft and delicate. I also recommend the one with shrimp. The "Har Gau" or "shrimp dumpling" is good here too. They're bite-sized, and the skin is not chalky, but smooth. The lunch menu is awesome as well! The fry rice, omg, it has that wok smell and taste to it. I also really enjoy their honey walnut chicken. The chicken is soft and cooked well. Okay, the price really blows me away. I got 5 dim sum dishes, a fried rice, and the honey walnut chicken for a total of $25 with tip included. Mentioning again, the taste and quality of the food here is magnificent! Service is good too.
