Shopkeeper refused to let our whole party sit inside because not everyone ordered something. For more context, two out of four people in our party ordered a ice cream cookie sandwich to share (very shareable portion). The other two people did not want anything (understandable because not everyone wants dessert all the time!). We grabbed a table for the four of us which then the shopkeeper informed us that we couldn't take up four spots for only two people eating and that the two people not eating must wait outside or stand (?). Keep in mind that this is NOT a sit-down restaurant -- it is a chocolate shop where you order at the counter, pay at the counter and then receive the dessert right at the counter. Also keep in mind that this place was EMPTY. There was one employee (the shopkeeper) and no other patrons. We are a group of friends enjoying a summer night in Huntington: why shouldn't we be able to all sit while two people eat their ice cream. Really horrible customer service -- why should we go back? This is not a case of loitering or misuse of private space. The shopkeeper was petty and maybe upset that he didn't have a full house on beautiful Saturday night during peak season. Attended the chocolate tempering class and dipping of summer fruit purchased on Groupon. Which was a really smart move on their part because I didn't even know this place was there. I went with 3 other friends and enjoyed a basic class on chocolate tempering, yep the good stuff, not the "melting chocolate" i.e. chocolate flavored candy, (think Chocolate Duck in Farmingdale). Only wish the stuff we dipped in later in the class was the good stuff. But alas I learned in class that the good stuff would not be good for a teaching class as it takes time; both slowly to melt it and quickly to form it and that does not lend well to first timers. The shop is a chocolate heaven- caramel covered in dark chocolate with salt, huge peanut butter cups, dipped pretzels and COOKIES. I recommend the class and the store. They even have a chocolate tempering kit to make goodies at home!!! read more

Used to get coffee here at least four times a week. They have a bold espresso that does the job. Tastes good and has a ton of caffeine in it. The store smells amazing upon entering and there are so many different kinds of chocolates and baked goods to choose from. There are even some sugar free options. The tea selection is pretty good as well. The girls who work behind the counter here are really friendly and kind and remember your order if you come here often. Sounds like a great place however the owner has rubbed me the wrong way one to many times and I no longer come here for coffee. I had an experience a few months ago where I was treated pardon my language like crap and it wasn't appreciated considering how often I came here. Needless to say their coffee or other products are definitely not on the cheap side. A loss for both of us because I was giving them business and they were giving me awesome coffee, oh well. I had no idea what to get here, there were so many options! My girlfriend and I came here Saturday night around 9, and left with a bunch of delicious treats! She went with the dark chocolate peanut butter cup, and said it was the best she had ever had. I, on the other hand, hit the assorted candy HARD and tried a bunch of delicious goodies. It's easy to fall in love with this Huntington bakery at first sight. Their displays are drool worthy and the selection is quite impressive. So you buy a bunch of pastries, chocolates and confections. After the first bite, that's when your taste buds say, "oh... um, where's the flavor?" Everything from the brownie bites, lemon cookies and rainbow cookies were virtually flavorless and a bit stale. It's a shame because it's a nice place. When visiting Huntington, NY on a recent visit to see my daughter, we came here after dinner at Besito. While Chip 'n Dipped has impressive looking display cases, not to mention some fun sounding desserts that they can put together, i.e., brownie sundaes, ice cream sandwiched between 2 cookies, etc., I wasn't all that enamored with the chocolate chip cookie I tasted. It was quite stale and bland, and as other Yelpers have commented, we could have made better ourselves. I've had far better chocolate chip cookies, and for a store that boasts chocolates and baked goods, it should have been MUCH better than it was..... and the fact that it was stale is beyond comprehension. Also, the brownie my daughter had was not good. Overbaked and NOT at all tasting of a deeply chocolate flavor, I only wanted that one bite. Honestly, what I tried at Kiss My Cake FAR exceeded anything from this place. THEY can REALLY bake..... but Chip 'N Dipped?? Nothing great whatsoever. She placed my purchases in a single paper bag and sent me on my way to try out their sugar, double chocolate chunk, original chocolate chip, and PB cookie (with chocolate chips and one inopportunely placed macadamia?). My wife and I discovered this amazing place while walking around Huntington village after dinner one night. It's the perfect place to sit and have dessert and coffee or just pick something up to go. We had the best homemade right out of the oven cookies I've had in a long time. This is the perfect place to get some goodies to gift to someone. I had walked into Kiss My Cake down the street and was disappointed by the lack of choices (only macarons and cupcakes) so you can imagine how happy I was to find a full showcase of treats here! The lady who helped me was so professional and kind and I loved that I could get a box of assorted treats with a ribbon on top (you get to choose from a bunch of colors) and a nice paper bag (as opposed to no bag at Kiss My Cake). It just looks nice and presentable when you give it as a gift, you know? One tip I want to mention is that this is mainly a *chocolate* store as opposed to a bakery. They have some cookies, but most of their display is chocolates and things dipped in chocolate. They had a big section of 50% off Easter chocolates, which was nice. The only reason I give four stars instead of five is that it is a bit pricey. I got a small 1 pound box of chocolate treats and it came out to about $30. There's a lot of chocolate, but $30 for such a small box hurts a little for a penny pincher like me. But my in-store experience was so nice and they met my needs perfectly with such wonderful service that I would definitely come back and recommend this place to others. read more

Anyway, I though ok, it's going to be the greatest piece of chocolate I've ever had. It's was ok, just ok. We were trapped in Covid-19 quarantine for two weeks leading up to the Easter and Passover holidays, so weren't able to put together hand-selected treats for our family. We heard about Chip'n Dipped through a friend and were so happy to support a Long Island based family business. We ordered the gluten-free assortment of cookies, brownies and pretzels to send to our daughter in Connecticut and the Executive Sweet for a friend recovering from surgery. Both packages were shipped very promptly and were gratefully received, and our families said that they were delicious. Overpriced, mediocre cookies. For a place that's supposed to specialize in chocolate chip cookies - they weren't very good. The cookies were dry and thin and not chewy and soft like they should be. If I wanted dry, thin cookies, I'd go with the crunchy chocolate chip cookie pack from whole foods bakery and be much more satisfied in terms of my taste buds and my wallet. I came for an ice cream sandwich cookie - which they informed me was no longer in season - but they still had a banner out front indicating they had them. For a place that calls themselves "chipped and dipped" I was surprised to find their cookies to be what I call mediocre at best. I am a pastry chef, so I tend to be a hard customer to please when it comes to baked goods. I found the cookies to be dry to the point of almost tasting stale. I tend to prefer a chewey cookie, but even by crunchy cookie standards this wasn not acceptable. Maybe I came on an off day, but I actually threw out half of my cookie, it was that bad. I've had some of their chocolate, and that was decent but nothing to write home about. I give them credit for trying some unique combinations (the almond wasabi chocolate bar was interesting) and they have EXTRA dark chocolate for us dark lovers, but the execution leaves something to be desired for me. My mom and I stopped by yesterday. Got a latte and a cappuccino. Both were perfectly made! We also got a dark handmade chocolate for home, and the Rocky Road for home. Their chocolate and treats are made in the store. You can see how they wrap them. We also had a slice of Candy Bar cake while sat there but I wasn't impressed. It didn't taste quite fresh to me but my mom liked it. Overall, good experience. They have great gourmet chocolate/pretzels/truffles baskets and boxes. Smaller at $20 and larger at $30.
