I don't usually leave reviews for chain restaurants, but when I saw this location had a 2-star rating, I felt like I needed to share my experience. We're not from the area and stopped on our way home. I'll admit, we were a bit hesitant because of the low rating, but we were hungry and decided to give it a try. To our surprise, the staff was extremely friendly and efficient. They were even actively checking food temperatures, which gave us confidence in their attention to quality and safety. The food itself was great, and the portions were completely normal--exactly what you'd expect. I think bad experiences can happen anywhere, and people are often more likely to leave negative reviews than positive ones. I broke up with Chipotle a few years ago after repeated experiences with low quality and strangely-flavored food, as well as unpleasant staff. It was upsetting--Chipotle used to be soooo good! But I had to accept its deterioration and walk away. Well! We encountered this Chipotle today on a Sunday drive and decided to chase the dragon. And I'm so glad we did, because this Chipotle is GREAT! My chicken taco had that familiar flavor (awesome!), and it felt like old times. My boyfriend felt the same about his chicken bowl. Plus! The person doing the tortillas and meat was so pleasant and friendly, and they even gave us tips on where to gawk at fancy mansions on the hill. In this time of declining institutions, it warms my heart to know that there are still great Chipotles out there! Tasting that flavor was like taking a time machine back to a better era. read more

Been patronizing this location for years! Service is usually pretty good! Today, not so much! There were four people behind the counter and one employee on break ordering food! And the restaurant was completely empty! I think they might have all been taking a respite! My son and I finished our meal and wanted to order chips and guacamole to go for my daughter. I was standing at the cashier for what seemed like an eternity and making eye contact with three of the employees separately! Unfortunately, it felt as if I was a ghost. Not one of them attempted to help me! Finally, the one employee who was in the lobby sweeping saw what was happening and finally came over to help me. This Chipotle was the most unpleasant experience I've had with a fast food restaurant. The staff is extremely unfriendly and rude, with absolutely no service skills. We went almost 2 hours before closing and were met with constant groaning and audible complaints from the staff, with them ignoring us many times and moving very harshly--slamming things down unnecessarily and just making us feel unwelcomed overall. This is not the first time we've had this experience with this Chipotle location, and I never leave reviews but this behavior was just far too insane to encounter. Very rude customer service. We came in around 9:00 PM, an hour before closing, and the employees audibly groaned when we walked in. They also groaned every time we asked for sides like vinaigrette, which made us feel like an inconvenience even though the store was still open. This is my local Chipotle. I've been visiting this particular location since it first opened, and I've always had a pretty good experience. Service has always been friendly and efficient. An assembly line behind the counter. I usually get a chicken bowl. Hold the beans. The sour cream tends to be a little watery, so I don't get that anymore. Not much ambience, so I've never sat down and eaten here. I always take my food to go. There's plenty of free, shared parking. This parking lot is a mess in general, but manageable. read more

I have been to other chipotles recently and they have been really disappointing with their quality and portions. I came here today and the whole team delivered. The food was perfect and tasted so fresh. The team member who put my bowl together was so nice and attentive. She even gave me good portions which came be hard to come by at most other locations. The team looks like they enjoy working together and I can tell because it shows in their quality of service. I have no idea why this place has such low stars. However, they CLEARLY aren't handling food or cleaning properly because most recently I ordered food and now am suffering from a stomach bug because of it. 1 star because I have to. This is the closest location to me and there's always some new rule here that management invents that doesn't apply at other locations. I've been going to Chipotle for nearly two decades and I've always gotten lettuce on the side because I don't like to put lettuce in the microwave. This one the manager decided that they no longer give lettuce in a foil and said I could only get a small cup but if I put it on the bowl I could get tons of lettuce which is actually bad business. I had loved Chipotle for years. However, this recent visit made me decide not to frequent it any longer. I hate giving a poor review, but I must be honest. I had visited on a Saturday and was disappointed at how empty the food station/selections were with a few just scrapings available in a few of the areas (chicken, beans, lettuce). I had ordered a bowl and was surprised at how meager it had looked, especially for the price. The seating area was unclean, utensil area littered with splashed iced tea. The sweeteners even had dried wet marks. It was unappealing and unappetizing. Sorry, but there are too many other options elsewhere now. Management must keep a closer eye on the operation. read more

This is so weird that I'm taking time out of my day to put a 1-star review on a fast food chain... especially for something so simple. Store made an honest of giving me a small bag of chips when I ordered a large chips an queso (ie no queso and a small bag). Called the store to explain and ask they refund me the few bucks... instead I get met with an AI IVR that spends 10 minutes doing everything in its power to block me from talking to a human and "misunderstands" virtually every response imaginable. Eventually had to lie and say "food poisoning" to get transferred to some overseas call center that asks me to email a copy of my receipt and photo of my order, puts me on a long hold, then tries to haggle me. This has been the single weirdest experience I've had with a restaurant in my life. read more

I went in for lunch and every single table was dirty and the staff didn't seem to care. In the 30 minutes I was there, no one ever came out to clean. The food was lukewarm warm at best and unimpressive. In addition to the bowl, I ordered a large drink.....come to find out that there was no ice. I told the staff and they said, yeah our ice machine is broken so no ice. The ice tea was out as well. The overall experience was an F-. In reading the other reviews, this particular location has serious mis-managemnt issues. I've eaten at several others that were really good. I arrived at Chipotle around 9:05 PM, well before their posted closing time of 10 PM. To my surprise, they were already out of steak, chicken, black beans, and peppers -- key ingredients for most orders. I ended up settling for a veggie bowl, and even then, I was given the last of the guacamole and corn. As I walked out, I saw a couple about to enter and warned them about the limited options. After hearing what I experienced, they turned around and left. Honestly, if you're going to run out of essential ingredients an hour before closing, maybe consider closing earlier. The good: My husband will rarely say no to Chipotle. I got a chicken bowl with brown rice and a few of their self-serve agua frescas. I also tried a steak burrito with guacamole (yes, that's extra). I love the variety of agua frescas they have and how it's self-serve so you can try them all. They have both an indoor and outdoor seating area. I like that they have many meat options and options for vegetarians as well. I liked how fast the workers were at assembling the food and how they have an assembly line setup with a server designated for a different aspect of the bowl. Chipotle is always a satisfying and filling meal. They have a kids menu with quesadilla and tacos as options. The bad: The chicken's spicy even though it isn't listed as spicy. I love spice but was trying to share my bowl with my toddler who can't quite handle that heat yet. Next time I guess I can order from their kids menu but I don't know what protein options exist for the kids. The interesting: I've been to their first location in Colorado. The layout and style is very similar still! I feel like their burritos are smaller than they used to be? Either that or my appetite has just grown. read more

It's a chain restaurant, not a Michelin restaurant. You can always drive to Torrance & management is different everywhere. Quality overall is the same recipe. It depends on the chef as well. One time, my brother & I got the chicken fresh, chopped salad freshly washed, or the fajitas fresh. The portions could be larger, but it depends on your server. I always get the chicken bowl or chicken salad bowl, black beans, brown rice, fajitas, corn & mild salsa, and a ton of salad. Sometimes I add a little bit of cheese or sour cream if I feel like I need more flavor. We all know the tortillas are no longer free, but may get them on the side for more carbs. Overall, solid place for a quick to-go item. Note: The Chipotle app is pretty useful with the rewards. My family & I saved our points for chips + guac last time. The hours of operation are posted as opening at 10:30 am and with a handful of potential customers waiting outside, the manager sends an employee out at 10:35 to tell us that they are working on an online order and won't open for another 30 minutes. COULD THEY HAVE SIMPLY POSTED A SIGN AND PLACED IT ON THE FRONT DOOR NOTIFYING US OF THIS? Do they think that we have nothing else to do than wait during the work week? The Health Department should be notified and they deserve to be investigated for serving/selling substandard food. They are extremely stingy with portions here. I understand not giving overfilled scoops of rice, beans, or chicken, but when staff are using their gloved hands to put food back from the spoon into the trays, that's inappropriate. This is the only Chipotle location I've been to that consistently gives small specific portions, and it really lowers the experience. Like why are bits of chicken being taken from the tortilla and put back into the tray when there were already few to begin with? I used to love Chipotle, but this specific store damages the brand.
