I love packaged Chobani yogurts and I thought that a store that creates yogurt creations was a really great idea. The naysayers didn't stop me from paying a visit. But! I wasn't nearly as impressed as I thought I'd be. The interior is very hip and fancy. Olive oil bottles, jams, honey, and other toppings for sale are neatly placed on shelves. A glass window looks into the kitchen where observing is encouraged. Recipe cards of each creation are available to be taken back for those who want to replicate the concoctions at home. As I scanned the menu book a cheerful staff member had handed to me, I marveled at how delicious all of the creations looked. He told me the Pistachio + Chocolate and the Toasted Coconut + Pineapple were the two most popular bowls, but I eventually chose the Smoked Salmon + Dill. Instead of the conventional sweet toppings that yogurts tend to be eaten with, my usually hidden adventurous self craved something savory. I received my large yogurt in a cute glass bowl and was lucky enough to only pay the $4 price of a small bowl because of a promotion they were having. The top was covered with a cheesecloth and my savory creation came with a bag of crunchy bagel chips. The Smoked Salmon + Dill certainly looked delicious, but looks were deceiving; sadly, the accompanying bagel chips were the only good thing about this creation. The top layer of smoked salmon, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, pepper, dill, and yogurt was delicious, but I then realized that the topping to yogurt ratio was too low. Even after mixing, it tasted much too bland. Perhaps there could have been multiple layers? Some spice or even a drizzle of honey (I know it'd go against the savory I was going for) would have added some necessary flavor. Serving everything in glass bowls that can be brought back for a discount is a great idea, and yogurt creations are definitely a healthy snack, but I'm not entirely sure if I would crave it so much that I would carry my glass bowl back to this store. I know I'm biased because I didn't like one of the flavors, but I think I'd rather just add some strawberries and granola on my own at home. I'm not understanding the 5 star reviews for this place. Its yogurt that you can buy in the supermarket? What is happening to SOHO? First they open this dopey Nespresso store and now Chobani? Listen, any new business in NYC I welcome. I wish the new owners much success. And what I had here was pretty good. I'm not seeing the profit margin, that's a lotta yogurt to sell. There is a dude outside hawking free samples. I try the chocolate / pistachio combo. Its pretty good! so I want to order the fig & walnut combo. My man on the street says no problem. He whips out his iPhone that has a credit card reader and swipes my card on site. Very slick.. And the yogurt bowl? It was really good, was it a five star meal like I was eating at Scarpetta? It was yogurt from the supermarket with walnuts, honey and chopped up figs on top. No chef experience needed. They also sell water as well as some of the toppings as a separate purchase. Great store to grab a quick healthy snack. SOHO, are you listening? I have a great idea for a new store. We'll call it The Pop Tart Store. I could seriously live off yogurt for the rest of my life - I got over how bizarrely scary yogurt bacterial cultures look under the microscope. When my refrigerator is otherwise barren except for some batteries and baking soda, I can count on some containers of Fage and Chobani hanging out on the top shelves. We each got one of the fruit + honey + granola bowls. I wished for more than a few spoonfuls of granola and a lot more honey to balance out the tartness of the yogurt. Yes, it's pricey as all get out: $5 for a half portion. Yes, it's an Instagram ploy. Yes, you will be sitting next to a even mixture of people holding up their yogurts in the air like a delicious dairy lighter at a Matchbox20 concert and tourists poring over the menu. Yes, the space is tight, but the employees find a way to maneuver around and so will you. Speaking of, the two guys manning the front counter were so awesome and friendly. My cousin was more in the mood for froyo instead of Greek yogurt, one of the guys kindly pointed out that there was a froyo truck a few blocks away. When she later realized she did want some of that Chobani goodness after all, he joked around with her and made the spot-on recommendation to add the fresh raspberries. I liked this place so much that I visited twice during my week trip to NYC. The Chobani store is decent sized (for NYC) but it was crowded both times I went. There are employees floating around the store who will take your order (so that you don't have to wait in the register line) if you are paying with a card. There are also places to sit but, again, this place is busy so you might not be able to find a seat. However, you can order to-go if necessary. There are various items on the menu ranging from yogurt to sandwiches to coffee. For the yogurt items, you can get a half size at $5.50 or a full size at $6.40. Since you're already spending a lot of money on yogurt, you should probably just get the full size because it is significantly larger for less than a dollar more. I heard you're allowed to take home the pretty glass bowl but I found this to be unclear so I didn't.. Ordered: +Pistachio and Chocolate: Came with actual pistachios, dark chocolate, orange pieces, mint, and honey on top of plain greek yogurt. This was delicious and refreshing, though the mint was a bit overwhelming (and I actually like mint). +Toasted Coconut and Pineapple: Came with fresh pineapple, coconut, hazelnuts, and agave. This was my favorite! +Rice Pudding: Very very good. There were other yogurt creations that I wish I was able to try out BUT they have really pretty recipe cards for their creations that you can take home with you. I cannot even being to elaborate about their quality... Service was amazing. Food, tea, and ambiance were all on point. This Chobani cafe really knows how to keep customers coming back. When I visited New York with a couple friends we came back 3 times. Their food was addicting. Order their seasonal yogurt special! They had a raspberry, waffle-chip, dark chocolate, granola yogurt as their seasonal special the week I went there (Jan 1-5). They were very accommodating with replacing certain ingredients that I did not prefer. Everything tastes fresh and had a perfect balance of sweetness from all the ingredients. On the savory side, it's a different take from what most people are used to but the taste grows on you. I will recommend anything on their menu. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this chobani bar. Opening a Chobani's SoHo store serving The brand's yogurts with fresh ingredients is a brilliant idea! I have been paying a few visits every year since 2013 and leaving the store with a satisfactory experience every time. The menu has been evolving and growing bigger in these 3 years too. If you visit the store now, you can get the classic fruity flavors like pineapple and coconut; you can also get classic dessert flavors, like chocolate and pistachio; and fig, honey and walnut. Beyond serving yogurt with different toppings, Chobani is dare to serve it in new forms - sandwich spread, chips dipping sauce and etc. The store also revived the brand image of Chobpni from a cold industrialized product sitting in the fridges in all the supermarkets to a live, delicious, trendy snack topic (at least to me personally). read more

Even though we have free Chobani in the office, I still stopped here for breakfast on multiple days. I love the concept of these pre-made yogurt creations. They're the perfect size for a filling breakfast or a light lunch! Why aren't there more Chobani stores throughout the country? It's probably the same greek yogurt they prepackage and sell at grocery stores, but I felt the yogurt served here was much fresher and tastier. I cannot rave about this enough. It is light, it is unique and the flavors are clean and surprising. We got the Peanut Butter + Jelly and the Pistachio, Mint + Dark Chocolate. They were phenomenal, truly. The tartness of the original yogurt, paired with sweet jam, grapes and honey was just delightful. Finally was able to stop in here for a light lunch. I like that there are sweet and savory options. Sweet is the more conventional choice since this is a yogurt store after all, but I'm a savory person, and was impressed to see 3 savory options on the menu. I went with a full size serving of the Mango and Avocado Yogurt (Jalapeños, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Coarse Salt, Fresh Cilantro, and Lime Juice, served with Blue Corn Tortilla Chips) for around $6.75. Flavor wise all of the ingredients blended together well. The cilantro was a little skanky looking, but it tasted fine. Good call to serve some kind of carb with the yogurt to make it a more fulfilling meal. Presentation was also pretty cute. It didn't look as fruity as the ones I saw in the photos... Anyhow, the taste was amazing. Having actual grapes in it definitely toned down the peanutty flavor, they should add more!!! Totally forgot that I came here with a friend a few years ago! We came during November at night time. Actually, It was for my birthday! Ladies (or Gents if you want to take your boo) the "bite lab" is close by here, which is where we were before. Def would be something nice to do for a girl's day out, birthday, take your girl, etc...go create your own lipstick in the bite lab and then come here for a healthy but yummy dessert! In all honestly, I can't remember what exactly we got. I think something pumpkin related but not sure. Point is, it was delicious,lol. A Chobani store? Why the hell would I go to a store to buy yogurt? I asked myself that for a whole summer, hating on the idea that a whole store could be dedicated to a yogurt brand. My first, second, and third visit showed me how wrong I was. The Chobani store isn't a place to get the prepackaged yogurt with fruit purée. It's a place that goes the next step and takes Greek yogurt to a whole new level. There is no formal counter and you need to find people with the tablets in order to place your order. Before their winter expansion, they only carried sweet and savory combinations, but now they have a full menu including soups and sandwiches. I've only gone for the yogurt and I haven't been dissatisfied yet. Last season, they had a smoked salmon + dill yogurt which was beyond amazing; sadly it didn't make the 2014 cut. The avocado + mango is an old favorite, combining sweet, sour, spicy, and creamy all in one bowl. The new pomegranate + caramelized onions was a huge surprise. I wasn't sure how I'd like the onions, but they complemented the sweetness of the pomegranate seeds and the chives added a little bite that melded well with the yogurt. The accompanying pita chips made the dish a well-rounded afternoon snack. Their sandwiches are made with oversized bagels (same thickness but larger radius) and are next on my list. These are the types of shops that will only survive in SoHo, and it will do damn well in the process. Here at Chobani SoHo, they have a bunch of creations made with fresh ingredients. From Blueberry Power to Peanut Butter & Jelly, these creations are not your typical cup of yogurt. For example, with the Blueberry Power, your Chobani yogurt comes with topped fresh blueberries, walnuts, hemp & chia seeds, and splashed on top with agave nectar. Sounds pretty epic right? Well it tastes damn amazing too. All this comes in a nice little glass bowl, and packaged very nicely. At $3.75, this is about double the price you're paying for a cup of Chobani at the grocery store, but these fresh ingredients really push it to the next level. The store itself isn't huge by any means. You come inside, order from one of the guys, and then pretty much either hang around or sit down on the bench and wait for your yogurt to be made. The Chobani store isn't for everyone. In its essence, you're paying a boat load for something that you can make at home for a fraction of the price, and in the end, its yogurt. However, I love this place. After a nice day hanging out in SoHo, the Chobani store is a nice closer to your day. There are tons of selections to keep your palate fresh, and at just under $4, it won't break your bank to try them all out either. read more

Ok, i'm really only ok with the supermarket chobani. When my bf told me that he'd gone to the chobani store in SoHo with his friends, and told me that he needed to bring me there, I thought he was out of his mind. Seriously?! Yogurt?! We're in NYC, there have *got* to be better NYC foods to fill my limited tummy-space! Well, we ended up going--and this place well exceeded my expectations. First, I love the feel of the place. It's small without feeling too cramped, beautifully furnished, and the pictures of the yogurts were beautiful. Even the little recipe cards--I stole two just because they were pretty :P I got a yogurt with strawberries, granola, and honey--and oh my, I haven't had honey like this. This is actually my usual combination for greek yogurt at home (fruit + granola + honey)...and I don't know if it's the glass bowl + cheesecloth thing or what, but this was deeeeeelicious. ESPECIALLY the honey. So good, in fact, that I bought a cute little container of honey for $5 (I appreciated the glass container). I hope it's as tasty as the stuff they used in the store. The yogurt itself is creamier, and "cleaner" than the typical chobani that you get at the grocery store. It was a revelation to me--so *this* is what greek yogurt is supposed to be! As was mentioned earlier, they give you your yogurt in a glass cup, and cover with a cheesecloth. You can keep the glass cup, or "recycle," and receive a 25-cent discount for your next purchase. If we hadn't walked by and noticed this place, we never would have thought to look for a Chobani store and our lives would never be complete. Ok, maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration, but you get my point. We grabbed a full strawberry with granola and honey and a half blueberry power, which were both delightful. It really made us wonder why we hadn't been doing this at home! They have all kinds of creations, so the possibilities are undoubtedly endless, but it's definitely worth a visit in my opinion. To give you a better frame if reference, I'd estimate that the "half" is about the same size as the yogurt cups you can buy in the store. AMAZING. GREEK YOGURT HEAVEN. I got the peanut butter and jelly and the spinach and garlic one. Both of them were delicious! The olives on the yogurt were kind of salty after a bit but I love how they give you pita chips with it. it's such a simple concept, I mean come on, how hard is it to put peanut butter on top of a bowl of yogurt. I love Chobani yogurt. From their delicious taste to their health benefits, I'm very happy to have Chobani yogurt as apart of my everyday diet and when I heard that they opened a shop in Soho, I had to try it. The place is kind of small but very trendy. There's one table in the center of the shop where you can stand and lounge as you eat your yogurt and there are waiters on stand-by ready to take your order. Everything about this place is really sophisticated, I've never felt this classy and luxurious eating Chobani before lolllll. The offer customized yogurt creations (savory or sweet), simit sandwiches, coffee and rice puddingg. I tried the peanut butter jelly yogurt creation and boy was it on point, a hand-full of sliced grapes on top of a bed of peanut butter, peanuts and plain greek yogurt. Each bite was filled with grapes and the peanut butter offsets the tartness of the greek yogurt. I gotta come back and try the rest of the menu. After around 5 mins, we plonked ourselves next to a lovely lady who helpfully suggested what we should order. For a long time I have seen popping up advertisements of Chobani, so I was very curious to try it out because I always looks very nice on Instagram and Snapchat. I went there at lunch time and I had to chose something; that was a real challenge because everything looked so good. I literally was standing there for 15 just to chose. But after my big decision haha, I chose the mixed berry acai. They prepared it very quickly and I could take it away. When I took it out it was so cute because it was a little bottle with the acai and another pot with berries and some flakes. This store is too much to handle. I wish I could order my own Chobani to go (in a glass bowl, nbd) EVERYDAY. I stumbled upon this storefront while in NYC, and had to walk in. Immediately we were greeted by lovely chefs (yep, in white aprons too), and I could see someone peeling an avocado in the back, next a mango. The store is just so lovely, with rustic wood, clean lines, and filled with color. I LOVE the concept of this place, as it really inspires you, and makes you want to make a yogurt dip with smoked salmon and dill (why not , right?) once you leave. What's not to love about this place? Fresh chobani yogurt, delectable toppings, and plus you get to keep the glass bowl when you're done eating! When I eat my chobani yogurt cup at home now, I'll picture myself here at the shop, eating my freshly prepared yogurt. For the fall weather, they have seasonal flavors like pumpkin and apple cinnamon. I was feeling like a super light lunch so this was perfect! I got the fruits and granola yogurt in the small size and my friend got the pumpkin. I tasted my friend's pumpkin yogurt and it was amazing. It's a plain yogurt base with some pumpkin puree on top to give it that pumpkin flavor and topped with nuts, cranberries, and gingerbread cookie pieces. It was the perfect flavor to capture the essence of the autumn. I sort of regret not getting this but I think it would've been too much for me. I loved the fruits and granola one. It was plain, simple, and refreshing. I really liked how they used honey to sweeten the yogurt. Stopped by during walking around soho area with my two and half yr old daughter. I chose half sandwich and half soup for lunch, and realized that I missed to order yorgurt:( But it was soo tasty and I was very satisfied with the flavor of lentil soup and smoked salmon sandwich. The store itself is not big, so when it come around the peak time, there would be quite a number of people waiting for the food to be ready, but so far for me this time, it was not bad. This concept store/café is truly a gorgeous space. I came by on a quiet weekday morning, strolling around this cute neighborhood and looking for a place to grab a light breakfast and read. I sat down on the communal table and was able to order there - the servers (super nice by the way!) carry around tablets with mobile payment systems. Soon, my yogurt came out in a glass container on top of a wooden tray. I got the 2% yogurt with peanut butter and grapes (without jelly) - super creamy, not too sweet, and exactly what I wanted. As expected, much fresher than the packaged yogurt at the supermarket. Aside from yogurt, everything on the menu includes yogurt, including simit topped with labne cheese made with Chobani. All of the yogurts come in a glass container that you can take home with you. I saw others take it to go and saw a rustic cheesecloth covering as a lid. Given the price, I like to think of it as a treat. Eating pretty, fresh food in a pretty space with large glass windows and rich dark wood whilst reading a book, verses throwing my somewhat stale granola on top of my refrigerated cup in my office cubicle, and funneling it down before my next meeting. Chobani uses this venue as a test kitchen and takes advantage of interacting with customers to produce other recipes using the yogurt and actual yogurt products that will end up grocery shelves. This is a nice little place to stop for yogurt in Soho. Its on the corner of a building and is modern yet charming. Its a bit tight inside but here is decent seating. The yogurt was tasty. Based off one visit but we enjoyed it. read more

After a long day of shopping at Soho, I decided to stop by for a quick snack. I tried the berry acai bowl, it was ok. I expected it to have the typical berry smoothie acai texture at the bottom with fruits placed on top but instead it was a bottle of berry milk and you pour it on the fruits and oats. Different then what was expected but it worked for a quick snack! Not a place to have lunch or dinner but a quick snack! Knocked a star off due to the price for such a small quantity. 2nd Visit- Went with a couple of friends and tried the mango dip, peanut butter bowl, tomatoe & olive tapenagetde, and the small sweet bowl. This place is awesome! I got to try out all the flavors during a tasting event and decided that the Fig and Walnut had my heart. Being a frequent buyer of Chobani yogurt, I was happy to try out their NY store. I've heard of it's opening sometime last summer, but nothing motivated me to go out and try the store, when you can buy the same stuff at the supermarket for a fraction of the price. I learned that they don't actually make any yogurt on site, they actually get it delivered daily from their upstate factory. So if you want fresh yogurt, then this is a place to try! Plus it gets served in a little glass yogurt cup that you get to keep or return for 25 cents towards your next purchase. The combinations were all delicious! All made with the freshest ingredients. They all were designed so that they can be duplicated at home, so if you like any of the flavor combinations, feel free to pick up a recipe card. Unfortunately, this is more of a store where you just buy and go and not so much a hangout place. I would definitely return for more yogurt although I feel that it is a bit pricey. read more
