Incredibly shady place, no follow up after they have your money. They have told us for months they would give us the registration, but every time we call it's "I'll call you back" or "that's on my manager". Still nothing. Before even looking at the vehicle, the sales man was hounding us to buy. Amongst other things they have done, this business is beyond unprofessional. Recently made purchase of used Nissan from choice but has since turned into a nightmare. On February 28,2020 went in to make my first payment. Long story short payment was only $269 but some how it was entered as $2000 , ? Then he entered $200 ,? Of course transaction was declined. Oh it was a mistake and as he claimed he reversed it. Today is March 03, 2020 according to bank nothing has been received showing a reversal by them and its out standing against my account as negative. Every transaction I made using my card on 27 & 28 of February is labeled as overdraft and a extra $30 a piece has been charged against my account. So now when my direct deposit comes in I am not able to use my money because of someone else carelessness. It a reversal was submitted it sure as hell is not showing. It's past couple of days Robert unable to verify anything of a reversal has been submitted to the bank. You lost my trust, if anyone ever ask me if I know a place to purchase a automobile Choice Auto will not be it. Can't post what I think happened when Robert entered the wrong amount in, ( accidentally)??? Big difference between $269 and $2000. Looking at getting some legal council if this doesn't get resolved in next 24 hours. And that over priced truck be getting returned as well. Selling price was supposed to be $5600 something but ended up a thousand dollars more? The price should of went down with $1500 down payment ( $750 ) down is false posted on their vehicles. Please beware! Scam artists! Yes very nice at first...but horrible if anything goes wrong after purchase. My husband and I bought a 2006 explorer. Within the first week the check engine lighyt popped on. Took it back to dealer..they had "their" guys look at it. They told us that this particular vehicle was set to "California standards" and because we were in hawaii the emission standards were difderent. They reset the engine light and we left. Two day later it popped back on, our car started to over heat and broke down. This time we took it to a ford mechanic. He said that our calabritic converter was not filtering the emmissions...he said that we also have the same standards as california! They told us that becuse it was an 800 dollar fix. We thought good thing we bought the warranty. SIKE! The warranty covered nothing at all. Not even the rental car! After this incident we decided to get our money back for the warranty which cost 3000. Guess who is still waiting for there money?! We are. Its been close to 3 months. They blow usoff every time we call. We actually called the warranty company directly to cancel. They were nice, took care of it in one phone call. They said they were going to fax the papers to the dealership all they needed to do was sign and send our refund to our lean holder. Called our lean holder and they have still recieved nothing. They said the dealership has 30 days to process or they will be fined. So lets see if that happenens. Its already been 18 days. By the way I hate that I have to give them 1 star to post. read more

A month ago I wrote a 5 Star review because their customer service was on point. im back here to take the 5 stars back. Vehicle broke down within a week of having it, was in the shop for 3 weeks waiting for the dealers warranty to kick in which it did not (dealership paid for fix with us paying a deductible). I just got my vehicle back less than a week and I'm sitting on the side of the road with either a bust radiator or hose...Dealership isn't answering even if it clearly says they are open on Sundays. Not professional, definitely be wary of these guys. I'm glad I saw the warning signs early and got out, but as you can see from many other posts, some were not so lucky. I went in to look at a car that was posted online at $12.5k, even though the KBB retail value was only $11.5k, just because I was really interested in that particular model and I thought a dealership would be less of a headache. Well, I was wrong. I go in, test drive the car for a little bit, and despite there being quite a few noticeable dings and scratches with the car, the 'manager' has the gall to interrupt the dealer and I (the dealer was nice enough, have to give him that) and inform us that the online price was wrong, and he couldn't honor it, and he could take $13.9k and nothing less. At that point I'm pretty much over it but before I can even finish my conversation and get out the door the manager comes back and says he can meet half way. When it's obvious I'm going to walk out he finally caves and says he can honor the online price 'until the end of the business day', trying to pressure me into buying it then and there. What an ass. I then confront him, asking why it's listed so far over KBB, and he gives me a totally uncreative 'Well, when we buy it at a certain price, and other certain factors are taken into account, that's the price," So he won't even discuss the fact that he is trying to sell the car for way over its value. Obvious rip-off, if it seems like a car you're getting there is for a reasonable price, it's probably because something is TERRIBLY WRONG. read more

Yesterday I took delivery of my vehicle after New Tires were put on to replace the old, bald Ones. The coolant reservoir was bone dry and Car Coolant leak still not fixed, along with Service Engine Soon Light. The car hit the red zone on gauge. This morning Took it to dealer and 3500 are needed for a new Radiator and to fix the leaks. I try to contact the Warranty Protection Service Plan and they have No record of me, despite signing a contract For said protection. In short, I DO NOT RECOMMEND you look, or Shop for your next car at Choice Automotive. They have deceptive Sales Practices from the Sales Manager, and Service AFTER the sale is Non-existent! If you do buy from them and they Want to take your car to their garage..DON'T DO IT.. Unless, you want even the littlest of items stolen From your vehicle! The 1st time I went to Choice Automotive I didn't really find anything that my girl and I liked. So I gave my information to Steven Hughes thinking he wasn't really going to call me back and to my surprise he did, almost weekly. We told them what we were interested in and how much we're willing to spend and since then we have been there two times now looking at leads that either Steven orJay called us about. My girl is super picky so I feel really bad for Steven and Jay but I'm confident they'll seal the deal eventually. Worst dealership and decision I made been in Hawaii. At first when you first get there to buy a vehicle they are open with support and everything you need to get you off the lot with a car......But soon as you sign those papers n leave they turn into a whole different company. They are just like buying a car through someone shady on FB marketplace and then ghosting you after you paid them. I bought a Lifted truck at Choice and I opted for the extended warranty. When I went to Ford, to get some work done. The extended warranty company sent someone out to Ford to verify that the work needing to be done was covered or whatever. The whole warranty was voided because the truck is lifted and that was a waste of $2500. I called Choice 5x asking them to help me with canceling the warranty because it was pretty much useless to me now. Robert is the worst financial rep I ever had to work with! He would constantly say that he doesn't see why the warranty won't work and will call the company in the morning and contact me the next day or following Monday...He is literally told me this 3x in a row .I never got a chance to talk to Sean but I hope he nothing like Robert because he's an idiot......I would not recommend Choice Automotive to no one. read more

So...I had seen a vehicle that i was interested in on their online inventory. I agreed to come down and take a look. I was completely and utterly disappointed in what i saw. Bald tires, dents, scratches, paint discoloration, and the car looked like it hadn't been wash for a while. Completely different condition then what was posted online. Immediately lost interest in it. Then they show me another vehicle. As soon as i opened the door, it smelt so much like cigarette smoke that i wouldn't have doubted that the engine had cancer. From there they totally lost me showing that they had no pride in what they do. How could I have ever trusted them to take care of me if they didn't care to take care of their cars. Each time I am driving through Kalihi, the vehicles in this lot ALWAYS caught my attention. Till one day I stopped to take a look at the prices and the many variety of vehicles that they offer. The moment I stepped in the lot, I was approached and greeted by Gabe(owner) with a warm welcome, he asked me questions to see what I was interested in and walked me into the office where I then met Josh(salesman). I was hesitant at first because this was my first time with no intention of leaving with a vehicle...let me just tell you that the Choice Automotive team is AMAZING. Defiantly not coming back here anymore I don't care if they're the last person on the island to have the car I really want. The reviews are so bad for this place and my friends and colleagues that I know some also had negative reviews about this place too about their experience. I specifically been looking for a charger 11-14 model to be exact because I like the old look better then the newer models (it looks more aggressive lol). Me and my husband sold are old one because we will be moving to Vegas early next year. I was looking online and I seen they had a charger on their lot I look on car gurus all the time and I also had checked their website when I came across the charger they had. I actually went twice for the car but both were very different experiences maybe I should of gone with another salesman I know how the car business works but my experience both times is enough to get me to not come back. In January of this year I went in to check out the charger they had on the lot, the sales guy seemed okay didn't really look like he tried hard enough but I test drove it we did all the paperwork the deal wasn't we're I wanted it and that was okay he gave me a copy of the worksheet and told me I can keep this Incase I changed my mind on the down payment it would stay the same the car was going for about $18k then and I only wanted to put $1k down I'll be honest but they said if I could've put at least $3k I could've walked away but I said no thanks I wasn't in a rush to buy it as much as I really wanted it I told myself it's ok. Fast forward to this month, so I browsed again and the charger popped up it's been on the lot for quite some time even before I went in January and they had lowered the price of the car this time so I went back in same sales guy different GM I told them I'm willing to drop the $3k in cash since they had it so long and they lowered the price they totally changed up the numbers this time instead of $3k they wanted $11k really!? That's half of the price! Wtf.. I've had my fare shares when it comes to dealerships but these guys they don't even try hard like they claim for you as a customer if they can't get you into the one YOU WANT they try and talk you in to another car like really the whole purpose of us going their is to find the one we want and if we go in for a specific one I'm pretty sure our minds are set and nothing else catches our eye (we'll that's just me) . Be careful some of their inventory aren't worth what their asking be smart when your looking for a vehicle. Im willing to trade my car 2018 Toyota corolla and i liked to trade to 2016 Toyota 4runner price of 36k and they said i need to put down 10k on it , But i dont have 10k to put it down so i decided to change to a Dodge durango price of 13k And they said i still need to to put down 8k on it .. How is that possible the toyota 4 runner is more expensive and i need to put down 10k but the durango its only 13k and the down payment is 8k WTH . I gave the car back to them for 2 weeks to "fix the problem " but when I received the car back it still had roaches in there so I called back again and they wouldn't answer my calls. I'm writing this review because of the service that I received from Choice Automotive. I just purchased an Infinity skyline 350 GT several days ago and was very happy with the car and the price after a $2000 discount on the listed price. I know that this is a used car so I wasn't expecting a perfect car but after two days I noticed a few things wrong with the car that I didn't catch before I pulled off the lot with it. The first thing that I noticed but didn't think was a big deal was one of the dome light bulbs was out and I figured well I can just change the bulb myself. The second thing that I noticed was one of the clearance lights was out (strip lighting that runs down the side of the headlights), and the third problem that I found, happened two days after purchasing the vehicle which was the passenger side window stopped working. I was worried about calling Choice Automotive to complain about these problems because I was sure that they was going to say that I purchased the vehicle as is and since I had driven off the lot then I was shit out of luck, BUT THAT WAS NOT THE CASE. 4 days after purchasing the vehicle I let the manager know of the problems that I found and without any hassle he said "no problem we will take care of it". I was given a loner for a day or two and that just shows me that Choice Automotive is not just trying to sell cars but that they also provide a service to their customers. The sales rep (Slater) and the manager (Gabe) are really cool guys to deal with and I never felt pressured. I would definitely purchase another vehicle from them again. read more
