The food was amazing. Definitely exceeded my expectations. Service was fast and friendly. Cozy vibes inside definitely coming back. Kimchi fried rice was my favorite!

I came here late at night with a group of friends who told me that they LOVE this place. Well... I thought the food was just okay. I wouldn't write home about it. I don't think I would even come here during the day. But at night if you are watching a game or going out with friends I think this could be a good spot. It really gave sports bar. They take a hands off approach to ordering so you use an IPad... but their iPads kept freezing or dying on us. They also add gratitude despite not really using waitresses.

One of the few spots in the Southbay open late. Delicious and authentic Korean food with excellent customer service. The owner is so sweet. The whole chicken was super crispy and the dipping sauces made it so scrumptious. Kimchi fried rice had a perfect sunny side up egg on top and was super flavorful. Tokkbokki has an epic cheese pull and a spicy sauce.

    Kimchi fried rice!

Came here randomly after a long day of slavery. Side dishes were flavorful and they let you try their fried chicken. The kimchi fried rice was exquisite and bursting with flavor. They also have watermelon juice here which was a shocker. Next up, we ordered the the delicious pork belly. My gf pigged out! (PUN INTENDED). If you're in Gardena (which no one is), give this hidden gem a try!

Tried Chondak for the first time and was really impressed with both the food and the service. We ordered the kimchi fried rice, the roasted fried whole chicken with dipping sauces, and the platter that comes with spicy rice cakes, cheesy ramen, fried dumplings, blood sausage, and gimmari. The platter ended up being my favorite, a great variety and everything was cooked well and full of flavor. The chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy inside, and while all the sauces were good, the mustard sauce stood out as my favorite. Service was spectacular from start to finish. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed without being overbearing. Overall a great experience, and I'll definitely be coming back.

Chon Dak is serving massive portions of Korean street food and that whole crispy fried chicken is on EVERY table. Soy garlic wings, banchan for days, and the corn cheese + bulgogi fries combo = unreal House-made sauces, generous plates, and open till 2AM. Late-night cravings? Covered.

As my reviews are heavily weighted towards food taste, the food is okay, with the pork belly being a disappointment for me. The place has a good dive vibe for guilt-free drinks and Korean comfort food. And the owner is super friendly. The ambience is excellent here. If you are on a late night snack attack in LA South Bay, I recommend this place for that - they are open till 2am. Since my reviews and ratings are all about the food. Food-wise, Chon Dak is average.  Charcoal Grilled Pork Belly - 2/5. This may be subjective. Maybe this isn't the proper cut of pork belly for this dish, but I find it too thick, of poor quality, and too fatty. The dipping sauce is just average, nothing special. I want to acknowledge that the restaurant used the right iron skillet and that, with some assistance from the waiter, the pork belly was browned correctly on the edges, giving it a good texture. Nonetheless, the whole pork belly just didn't come together for me when I ate it. Regretfully, this isn't my favorite item. Roasted Fried Whole Chicken - 4/5. This is a good dish. Overall, the chicken was well marinated. The skin was crispy and had a pleasant rotisserie taste. The inside isn't as juicy as I would like, but it was too shabby in terms of taste and juiciness. It's a good dish to complement the beer if you aren't looking for something too heavy.

First off the portions here are huge!! The prices seemed a bit expensive but once we got the food it made sense. The pork belly is cooked in front of you and it is so delicious and crispy. The bulgogi fries were the highlight of the meal though. The fries were crispy, the bulgogi was nice and sweet and they were so cheesy. The fried rice was also delicious and had a lil kick to it. The service was excellent and the inside was nice and quiet. But we were told it gets busy at night.

An amazing place to go to with large groups. The food and service were all top notch, made fresh to order and excellent in taste! Would highly recommend the corn cheese, fried chicken and the fish cake soup, all excellent for large groups. The space seems a little small and I've heard it can fill up so come early if you can. Otherwise there are no other notes other than visit now!

Everything was so good! The fried chicken was crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor! My favorite was the kimchi fried rice. They have a wide selections of menu so you can never go wrong with any item. The portions are also very generous!! The staff were friendly, and the service was quick.

Definitely a great late night eat spot! Such a different spot from K-Town ... extra bonus is own parking lot! Thanks for the rec for the pork belly combo. My group of four was full and it was just enough food. Love the extra help you get with the cooking. Order through the individual tablets. Friendly service n

There's plenty of seating and I can imagine during this time (World Cup season) this place gets so packed and fun in the best way. The service was great. We had a lot of questions about the drinks. We were recommended a flight if we were unsure which you can customize; I definitely recommend this if it's your first time so you can try a little bit of everything. They had a vendor selling tacos, burritos and other Mexican style items which were absolutely delicious and with the drinks it was a perfect combo! I'm not sure if they change that side vendor or if they are a semi permanent partner with them, but I love that they offer small businesses an opportunity to sell their foods. I was told that they used to be located in a different area or accessing brewery was through another area so pay attention to signs, especially for their nearby parking. It's literally walking distance from our hotel in Torrance -- so close we actually walked past it the first time without even realizing it was there. Super hidden, easy to miss. The space itself is small, and when you first walk in it doesn't hit you with an over-the-top tiki vibe right away. But once the drinks start coming out, it fully delivers. The glassware is so fun and themed -- I was obsessed with the flamingo cup and actually ended up buying a couple online since I couldn't take the real one home with me. Drink-wise, I stuck mostly to my usual zombie, which has this great earthy, cinnamon-y flavor that's just different from anything else -- does the trick every time (there's a two-drink max/minimum on it, which I respect). We also tried a Makahiki Mua and a Painkiller, both really solid. The Makahiki Mua had a fun flavor, kind of similar to a Painkiller, but the zombie is still my go-to. Service was pretty good overall -- the bartender stayed mostly in one corner of the bar, which actually worked in our favor since we got served fast. A couple of small quirks though: they only have a limited number of menus, so we kept having to pass one back and forth around the bar, which felt a little silly. They also seemed to be running low on drink cups at times, having to wash and rotate them back into use, which was an odd thing to notice at a bar this size. Also wish they had some food or snacks available, even something small -- but that's a minor gripe. Vibe-wise, this is easily one of my favorite tiki lounges I've been to -- doesn't quite topple Broken Compass Tiki for me, but it's up there. Fun, easy, great drinks, solid service despite the small hiccups, and a perfect spot if you're staying in the Torrance area. Would absolutely go back and would recommend it to anyone chasing that tiki lounge crawl.

We had the woman server, reddish hair, one who I thought would be seasoned. Oder took her about 8 minutes, she then walk away and not said why. It was apparent that there was an issue with the table. Drinks took about another 12 mins to arrive and when they did it would have been great if she had spilled them. Drinks were horrible. My rum and coke was served flat and warm. Ice was dirty, seemed like no preventative maintenance takes place. No napkins were served, and at no time did she stop by to check in on us. Bartenders... not presentable at all. I didn't know what I was looking at. There was no way for me to tell if he was a bartender, or anyone else making the drinks. He seemed hot and sweaty, completely off, and wearing some sort of white T-Shirt., again, you couldn't event tell that it was a bartender making that drink, the entire experience was horrible. The drinks were so bad that we took 2 sips and said it's time to go. Waitress came by, we checked out and she just stood there waiting for a tip. We felt forced to tip her, when in reality I wanted to say, please quit your job. Folks, if you are looking for a nice classy drink, or something made right, do your self a favor and go elsewhere. if you are staying there, either go to the lobby bar, or better yet, skip out and head to Manhattan beach.
