I love going to the chophouse grille. There is always something on the menu for everyone. But my favorite thing about the CHG is the BREAD AND BUTTER! The bread always comes out warm on a nice board with some delicious whipped cinnamon butter (yum). In the past I have gotten the salmon burger with fries. Last time I got the ribs and French fries with Brussel sprouts. All were delicious. I will say the old French fries (in the pics with salmon burgers) were better than the French fries I got last time. The deserts are also very delicious. I got the churro waffle and it was huge and a great deal!! I will be back!! read more

Tried this place for the first time recently on a Saturday night with 7pm reservations. We were seated immediately. Service was fantastic from walking in the door to leaving. We were seated on the balcony over looking the bar area (requested a booth) and it was a little loud. I can't say from where we were sitting it felt overly intimate or romantic but the food was stellar. I would be curious to see what the other dining area looks like. That would be my reason for 4 stars vs. 5. We tried the stuffed avocado after reading rave reviews and it was a sinful fried delight of cheese and fun corn salsa. A bit heavy - we didn't finish all... but that is probably because we also had the ultimate app (IMHO) on the menu - the Pork & Pineapple, described as slow cooked in-house smoked pork belly, on a bed of avocado puree, with a fresh grilled pineapple salsa. We added the seared scallops for an additional charge and I could have eaten the whole order myself and left happy. I had the seared scallops entree on a butternut squash risotto. Again, the scallops were cooked to perfection. Like the appetizer the sear left that wonderful crust on the already sweet scallops and the risotto, while a bit too sweet to my liking, was cooked well. My bf had the new york strip and grilled asparagus and raved about the garlic butter. We left so stuffed but will definitely be back! read more

ChopHouse has stepped up theirs food and service. Recently everything I have been getting has been great. At one point it was the opposite but they have really put in the effort and stepped it up. We made the drive down from western Providence to try their cuisine. Unfortunately, the drive was not all that worth it. We started with the Beef Empanadas which were rather good as long as you add the 'pico de gallo' to each bite. The Clam Chowder had a generous portion of clams but was dull and listless flavor wise. For dinner, I had the Seafood Paella which was the smallest paella I had EVER seen in my life. Being descendant of Spaniards, I love to taste paellas from different restaurants. The seafood portions were generous for such a small plate, but the 'rice pilaf' variation used was horrible and they really should use long grain yellow rice for the paella base. My husband had the special Prime Rib which looked wonderful when presented but could have used much more seasoning on the main course as well as the sides. The Brussel Sprouts were awkward as they were chopped up and mangled into a mess. The main plus is that the wait service was spot on and took care of everything real proficiently. Oh well. read more

So. Came down to the beach with the family and late afternoon we start to discuss dinner. My aunt mentioned here but after further discussion I think everyone was craving lobsters and such. Fast forward a bit the place in Narragansett we went to was PACKED! (Sunday evening in early Aug.) so we called here and they were able accommodate our party of eight and we made our way over. The place itself: clean and inviting, eye catching inside decor, simple. Service was better than good. The host was friendly and we had a small conversation about mu sun burn from the beach. Our table maintenance engineer didn't have the cheerful personality but had class saying "you are welcome sir" after I said thank you multiple times after refilling water and cleaning the table. The gentleman who took our orders did an excellent job making sure everything was brought out in a timely matter. The food.... . I ordered a chowder and it was some of the freshest, tasting chowder I have had in a while. We ordered ribletts, oysters and crab cakes too. I tried the ribletts and it was mouthwatering, fall-off-the-bone delicious! My meal was the Brisket Grilled Cheese and it hit the spot! Meat was perfectly cooked and the bbq sauce was delicious, I forgot it was even a grilled cheese. If we were not going to Brickley's Ice Cream shop afterwards I would have gotten the carrot cake as it looks delicious judging by the pictures. You will pay for what you get. I am not saying our bill was more expensive than it should, this is not your 1-2 star bill so larger parties be aware, especially when cocktails are being purchased. My husband and I went here on a whim on a week night. They were busy and asked if we had reservations, which we did not so they put our name in and said it would be about 45 minutes. Typical wait time anywhere now a days. When we got seated, I could not stop looking around the room because it was beautifully decorated. We still talk about the stuffies we had there to this day - no one can beat them! All the food was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. We cannot wait to come back here soon! read more

The restaurant was clean and felt like I was entering someone's home. The interior design was well done. The food was the best portion, just the right amount for no leftovers and finished with a nice full stomach. The service was great, we got our waters filled and had bread stocked. Everything was great up until dinner was served. One of my friend ordered Clam Chowder for his dinner and he got it cold, we waited around for the server to come check one the table so we could as for another hot soup and it felt like we were playing a game, had to watch out for the server to get her attention. *We did get a new hot soup in a timely fashion.* When it was time to pay the bill, we had to go up to find someone to get the bill because we were sitting there for a while with no one to tell. read more

Food is being continually dumbed down since they've taken all the great items off the menu in recent years. Bartender said their most popular dish now is the burrito bowl so it could just be a necessary adjustment to people's poor taste. The happy hour specials used to include drinks which they no longer offer. We ordered appetizers off the happy hour menu and all 4 of them were fried and tasted like fast food. We tried brunch and the menu items were interesting but the food was incredibly slow took 45 mins to come out with no apologies. Seem to retain bartenders (who are all great) but not servers. Too bad they couldn't retain the original class and quality food. Won't be one of our spots anymore :/ read more

Me and a large group of people went here for my birthday the other night and it was very good! We ordered a variety of things off the menu and I'm pretty sure everyone enjoyed there meal. Me and 2 friends ordered the buffalo calamari to start which was beyond amazing. I would go back just for that. It was the perfect size to split between the 3 of us. Then I ordered the burger which was also pretty good. The one complaint I would have is that I asked for it medium and it was 100% well done. I guess I can't complain because it was a large party and that was the worst thing that happened. If I went back with a smaller party and it happened I would bring something up. One of my friends ordered the chicken sandwich and was in love. A few others ordered the penne ala vodka and loved it as well. The prices range from low to high so there is something for everyone. I'll tell you all you need to know about ChopHouse Grille in one sentence: Happy Hour is from 4:00 to 5:30 every day and the apps are DELICIOUS. Okay, I guess I'll write more about my experience at ChopHouse... Their steak and cheese is delicious and their filet mignon is very good. Their béarnaise sauce is alright, but goes good with the filet. My advice to you is that if your server asks if you want bread, the answer should always be "yes". They have warm bread with cinnamon butter. The edamame app is good and VERY flavorful. If you like edamame with a little extra yum to it (aka not plain Jane with just salt), you'll love it. The prices are a little steep, but for some of the dishes, it's worth it. That's probably why I'm a big fan of their happy hour. The service is great. I don't think I've ever come to ChopHouse and had a bad serving experience. All of the staff (from the bartenders to hostesses to waitstaff) are very attentive. At the entrance they have Andes mints, which you can't go wrong with. Here's the low-down on the happy hour. It's from 4:00 to 5:30 (as stated above), but you can still get the delicious apps after 5:30 if you ask. The apps include prices from $3-$5 and I believe there is a discount on drafts as well. The appetizers are finger foods such as loaded tatertots (with melted cheese, applewood smoked bacon, and chives), the most amazing buffalo tenders I've ever had, nachos, mozzarella sticks, and I think a few other delicious treats. It's worth all of the nasty calories and the bartenders are fun. I'll keep coming back to ChopHouse for the happy hour and beyond! read more

A great choice for a nice dinner in Wakefield. Good service, decent beer and wine list and tasty fresh food. I was really impressed with how clean and modern the place looked. Crisp paint lines, warm inviting colors...it set a great atmosphere. And the bread and butter? Oh man...it's dangerously good!! I'm not sure what was in the butter (I should have asked) but it was the perfect sweet/salty combo I love. I got the Southwest Bowl with chicken (it's also available with steak) which was a yummy healthy dish with quinoa, avocado, corn, black beans and a cilantro cream sauce. But I must admit, I was a little envious of my friend's Cajun Ahi Tuna Salad. It looked amazing! I really would love to go back and try their Stuffed Avocado appetizer... If you haven't heard the news, Chophouse now has some new Chefs in the kitchen and let me tell you, they're among the best in the entire state. --- And the service and hospitality? Spectacular! We felt and were treated as if we were at our own Grandparent's house having a meal amongst family, what a treat to be able to enjoy both such an amazing meal and to have it complimented with such phenomenal service. Now the food, where to start? The stuffed avocado (yes you read that right - stuffed avocado) was probably the coolest dish we've had in over a year, completely unique and totally amazing! Highly recommend that everyone have it, but don't limit yourself to just that option, as every dish on the menu has received its own creative spin from the Chef and really deserves a shot as well. Having been here 6 months back and left less than thrilled, this experience through and through was a complete turnaround. We will be back to Chophouse very soon (and much more frequently!) and strongly recommend to anyone that is considering a dining option in the South County area. We're incredibly fortunate to have Chophouse in Lil Rhody and we hold it among the best restaurants we've dined at all over New England. Just stopped in here at the chophouse while in Wakefield. Anthony the bar tender served my wife and I at a high top in the bar area. Service was amazing and he makes a splendid martini!! We started with the brussel sprouts which were cooked perfectly and crispy. I then had the cavatelli brisheta chicken pasta which was amazing. My wife enjoyed the salmon with carrots and mashed potato's. Anthony was kid enough to offer this dish as an alternative leveraging the al la carte option which gave more flexibility on sides. Impressive. The only downside (which they note on the check) is they charge 3% for using a credit card. I'm seeing this a lot these days and I don't like it since so many of us don't carry cash. For smaller amounts under $50 I would say I can tolerate that but for a bill over a hundred dollars they should waive this fee. All in all great ambiance and great personalities on the staff. We last minute booked a reservation for eight adults and two kids. They were incredibly friendly and accommodating. Got us in at the time we wanted so the kids would be chill. The menu has some curve balls outside of the normal steakhouse style items but everything was great. I grabbed the New England clam chowder and it disappeared quicker than expected. So tasty. The buffalo calamari was unexpected and delicious as well. Not the traditional crispy like you'd expect from calamari but more like a buffalo hot wing. Their grilled sausage and beans were also prepared very well. Jimmy was incredibly friendly and approachable. Attentive to our large group and the kids needs too. I went to the grand opening of the new Chop House and first thing is finally a good restaurant in the area. Beautiful decor when you first walk in with an amazing wine rack at the entrance. The restaurant has a comfortable feel for a place that you know is higher end. You can get affordable items and a high end meal and still get to watch a sporting event on one of the 2 monster sized TV's at the bar. Now the food, this restaurant just opened last week so reviewers have to understand that any new restaurant has to work out procedures and staff the first 60 days. My wife and both had a beautiful steak that was perfectly cooked and a wonderful sausage appetizer. Overall this restaurant is refreshing alternative to the old dusty restaurant options in Wakefield/Narragansett. It's definitely going to be a hit. Try it out, I don't think you'll be disappointed. Came in based on yelp reviews and it was awesome. Nice menu, varied and small compared to most. A single large page with a good variety. I had the Point Judith Calamari and the Sea Scallops over Sweet Pea Risotto. Both were perfectly cooked and full of flavor. I highly recommend this place. Service was great and prices were good. Their is a wide swing in prices on the menu so they cover any budget. Most dishes are quite reasonable and the have some higher priced options if your looking for a fancy steak dish. read more

Just left chop House and there was no one there! We still walked in and the waitress was on the phone, looked up and gave us a thumbs up that they were open. We stood there in the bar area waiting for her to get off the phone so that we could be waited on. She still stayed on the phone. Another worker was at the bar and did not look up. I told my husband if we don't get seated in an empty place as this waitress still has not offer us a place to sit we will turn and leave! We left! Chophouse was fantastic! We had Jimmy as our waiter and he was the best! Really personable and great service. The food here was unbelievable! I had the NY strip steak which came with lyonnaise potatoes, and it was actually one of the best if not the best steak I've ever had, and that's comparing them to steakhouses in NYC. Others in my family had the prime rib, which was a huge 16oz hunk of incredibly tasty meat. My girlfriend is a vegeterian and she had the pad Thai with tofu and she loved it! She said the tofu was cooked perfectly. For dessert we had the 4 layer chocolate cake, which was the biggest slice of cake I've ever seen, and man was it good! Wasn't disappointed since it did say on the menu that they are basically first come first serve. I ended up getting the ribs which ended up being the move. Chose to go to the chophouse grille in Wakefield for my birthday. Was met by the owner who is one of the nicest guys. Zach the bartender recommended the pork chop and Mo got the prime rib. All meals were fantastic.I tried to hide the fact that it was my birthday but nevertheless Chris bought a drink for us both, as he often will do. The Red Sox were beating the Yankees which is always a bonus and the desert, chocolate pudding, made the night. I highly recommend this restaurant for all occasions. read more

First time here and we will return! Fantastic restaurant. The inside decor was well done with out being overly fancy. Our family all enjoyed their dishes consisting of the : Malibu scallops, coffee rubbed steak, jerk chicken, and prime rib! The avocado app was also very different but very good. Little Necks were OK-- a little to salty. For dessert we had the waffles= amazing!!!!, banana split and lemoncello cake. All were great! We brought our 3 month old and they were very accommodating giving us a corner spot with plenty of room. Restaurant was a little on the louder side which made it great for kids. Had a very bad experience there last night... the center of the warmed bread was ice cold and hard... so.. its not fresh baked bread... the "prime rib" French dip was nothing more than a sandwich made with deli style sliced wafer thin NOT prime rib { still 17 dollars though } but maybe a London broil or top round... the au jus was slightly warmed was cold after 1 minute.... never again... should have known when I walked in the door and saw only 5 people in the place at peak dinner time there was a problem.... it was dead empty for a reason... the Kabuki Chinese rest next door was packed though... should have went there Do NOT recommend this place...over priced..small portions... frozen product.... read more

I know times are very difficult for restaurants and they're way over paying for product and have to pass it on to the consumer, but the sirloin tips were really nothing more than one tip sliced into four pieces. And unfortunately there is no way to cook it other than well-done because it is so thin. We split the Ahi tuna salad. It came with four tiny pieces that smelled and tasted too fishy to eat. When they asked why we didn't eat it I told them and that is probably something they should've taken off the bill. Attempted to book about 40 people at this establishment...and about a month before the event they called me and cancelled us and said they decided to give that date to someone else. They told me I could pick another date knowing that my event was only on that day. They have a so called "event coordinator" who does not email/call you back. They lack communication and professionalis. We are about 12 local families that will not chose to eat at this restaurant anymore. Hope that was worth it. read more
