Beef Wonton and Meaty Asado Siopao (1pc)

The place is always clean. The people are nice. I didn't expect the fried chicken to be so goooooood!!! It's crispy and juicy. A must try! Don't forget to buy the gulaman drinks.

Ordered the 8 piece chinese-style fried chicken legs and thighs through DoorDash and was seriously impressed. Even though the delivery ran a bit late, the chicken held up perfectly--still super crispy and not soggy at all. That's the ultimate test! Beautiful presentation and delicious flavor. I was at seafood city supermarket and needed to pick up a quick lunch for the next day. There are a couple of items I wanted to try but decided on their one item combo. You can also get just a rice bowl but I wanted to try their noodles too. My one item combo came with a big scoop of rice, stir-fry noodles, beef and broccoli, and something like a red bean sesame ball. I did enjoy everything. The noodles and the beef and broccoli were very flavorful. The food tasted fresh like someone was just making me dinner at home. The whole combo was less than $11. They also have big bun I want to try. I think the buns are their top seller cause I saw everyone buying them. They sell it warm or frozen. Another items I want to come back for are for their desserts. They have halo-halo and taho. I love taho so I'm very excited to try that. The service was great. The parking is plentiful. Overall, a quick spot to pick up a snack, dessert, or a simple meal.

We wanted Halo Halo today while out in the Pomona area. Driving back on the 10 freeway, we stopped by the Jolibee across from Ikea on Barranca in West covina. The store employee informed is that they no longer serve Halo Halo. So sad!! But we had our hearts set on Halo Halo so we decided ton drive a few more miles to the Chowking on Amar for them!!!! It was well worth the drive!!! Their Halo Halo is the best in town!!! What a refreshing treat while we have this horrible heat wave in town today!! All the tables at ChowKing were full and literally everyone was having Halo Halo!!! Great minds like alike lol! We will definitely be back again

It just does not get better, just gets worst. I bought their beef wonton soup with noodles ( i bought this for my late father many times ) but this time, it was just horrible I mean look at the photo I posted. Seriously almost $8 for this? bare any noodles... the 2 of the tiniest wonton ever made in the entire planet Earth and a hamburger have more veggies than this. read more

If I can give this establishment, zero stars, I would. Worst customer service in the whole Southern California. I ordered a platter of dimsum (siomai) and asked for the chili that they serve with it. When my order was called, I opened the bag and well- there was no chili. I politely asked the one who gave it to me and she gave me two tiny containers of the chili with barely NOTHING inside. Seriously- it's just chili - why so STINGY? I asked (again, politely) for additional chili as I ordered a platter and she gave me 4 more containers. I told her I want 10 of those as there's barely anything inside (see pics of it). Mind you, she was looking very mad at this point and was looking at me like I was asking for the Holy Grail. She dropped the 6 containers inside the bag and turned her back at me- VERY RUDE. What happened to customer service or just the decency of being polite to an ordering customer? I consolidated the chili and came up with not even half of the tiny container. SERIOUSLY. What's in this chili? Is it mix with caviar or escargot? My husband who ordered from this establishment before also got the same treatment. We are NEVER coming back. read more

First Chowking I've had in US. As someone born and raised in the Philippines, I almost teared up when I saw that I live close to Chowking now. I'm from Michigan and there wasn't any Chowking near it. Covid-19 Precautions: - have floor markings for social distancing - all the staff were wearing masks - sanitizer is available at the counter Food: - 2 Entree: Lumpiang Shanghai and Chinese-Style Fried Chicken The lumpia was pretty okay. I love lumpia but this one is kind of similar to frozen lumpia that you get from the store. The chicken? It's like how I remembered it. It was so crispy and juicy! It felt like I was in the Philippines haha. The lo mein/pancit was pretty dry and didn't have much vegetables/stuff in it. Sorry guys. Negative reviews are usually not my style but this one deserves me going out of my way to write this review for potential customers. I ordered the beef stew wonton soup. It came super ridiculously hot that you can burn yourself if you're not careful. Inside there's small slivers of dry beef, single wonton, some cabbage and the noodle. The broth doesn't have much flavor, salty, and of course lots of monosodium glutamate (msg). Please note that the siomai is also action packed with msg. Places like these give Filipino fast food restaurants a bad reputation. I got nothing against the staffs working here. They're actually nice,but the food is way subpar. read more

Placed my order a couple of hours ahead of time. Came into the Amar store to pick up my order at 2pm. My order wasn't ready so I sat waiting for my order 30 minutes. No one called me telling me that my order was ready. I had to go up to the counter to ask about my order. No one seemed to care that I was waiting. The 2 guys just barely said sorry. Knowing what to order is half the battle. With beautiful original flavors and a WIDE VARIETY of options, this location offers three different menus that can be mixed and matched to suit any palette! Firstly, the parking was easy since it's in a plaza with Seafood City and other various businesses. Secondly, it wasn't a dirty location and the traffic doesn't affect the ambience as much. And thirdly, there were lost of people there, so I knew it must have good flavors. My friend brought me here because I craved beef noodle soup and she got it. I decided to try the fried rice with pork dish. Overall, we were pleased with our choices and it contained wonderful flavors. The service is nice and there is plenty of seating area. I'm excited to go back to try more of their flavors! read more

Feeding a massive group of hungry performers, stage crew, and staff during a production is no easy task, but Chowking completely crushed it. They provided an absolute feast that kept everyone fueled and energized. The Chinese-style fried chicken was an absolute hit--perfectly crispy on the outside, incredibly juicy on the inside, and packed with savory flavor. Paired with their delicious, perfectly seasoned rice, it was the ultimate comfort meal. On top of that, the Asado Siopao was pure perfection. there is a server there that is extremely rude. her name is marielle. she's an absolute disgrace to this establishment. i was very disappointed because the food and beverages are wonderful, but i would not return for that kind of service. she did not greet me, threw my credit card at me and practically threw my order at me. i had to make a complaint to the manager who listened very nicely. i think we customers owe it to the owners to let them know when they have workers who will drive business away. i definitely will not return. there are other places in the area that serve similar food. too much competition to have rude worthless employees. read more

I ordered the Beef Wonton today from Chowking, and I was thoroughly disappointed...The portion size was incredibly small, with just a few tiny pieces of meat and a scant amount of noodles. Most of the bowl was filled with soup, which felt like a way to skimp on the main ingredients. I expected a hearty meal but ended up feeling more like I had sipped a light broth. For the price, the value is just not there. I hope they consider increasing the portions and improving the balance of ingredients in their noodle dishes. If you're looking fast and cheap Chinese food with Filipino flavors, this is your place! The rice bowls are so flavorful and you can just taste the freshness, unlike some other fast food Chinese restaurants. I tried the beef bowl and chicken bowl, the Meaty Siobao and siu mai, lumpia and sweet sesame balls. We loved every dish, especially the beef bowl and meaty Siobao. I even bought some frozen Baos to take home and eat for breakfast. Staff is always friendly and the store is always clean. Highly recommend this place! read more
