My son ate at Christo's with a large group prior to their homecoming dance. After leaving he realized his wallet was gone. He called The restaurant but they could not find it but took my number and said they will call if it turns up. At closing they called and a waiter found the wallet. It had all of his IDs and $160 in it. We are so thankful the waiter and owners are such honest and kind people! They really saved the day! The group really enjoyed the food and service that night and we plan on returning and giving this honest family our business. read more

With my in-laws in town I needed a nice breakfast spot with a view, and Christo's on Alki provides that. We got seated on the upper patio and had the best view of the sound and some seriously good eggs benedict and omelets. The service could have been better, but the deficit was due to a missing colleague and not because of incompetence, so I won't complain :) We had a good time there and I definitely want to come back for lunch and/or dinner! read more

Great food, great people, great atmosphere! The place to be on a sunny day. Food is all cooked to order so you can expect to wait on a busy day but well worth it! All of the food is of good portion, and plenty of different items to split! I love to start off with the crab dip (everyone's fave), my go to pizza is Petro's special which has a little bit of everything on it, and I love the handcut fresh hot fries, plain, with feta or with garlic. If you're looking to unwind with a view of alki beach, the snowy mountains in the distance and the sunset, you should ask to sit on the deck! During the summer they have heat lamps so I'm sure it'll be busy but like I said well worth it, just have to have patience and I promise the product is worth it!! read more

Unfortunately the only thing we were able to try was our first round of cocktails which took 20 mins to get. We decided to go here because it was the only place with a bunch of seating, especially rooftop seating on Alki on a Friday evening. We were actually really excited to have some calzones! We were seated on the roof and had to wait forever. 30 minutes had gone by and our waitress hadn't even taken our food order yet. (We were also starving) we noticed others seemed to have been waiting too, we didn't want to chance waiting any longer after being told twice she would come back to get our food order. We downed our drinks, left, and paid downstairs. I'm sad because it seems like they probably have really good food. Service was just way too slow. read more

I've been here several times but after today, I will reconsider future visits. As I walked in meeting friends upstairs and walking up the stairs to the patio, I was interrogated why and where I was going?? After sitting down, it took 2 servers to bring me an additional wine glass, which took ten minutes I shall add. Food was fine and good as always. When we got our bill, it took another 10-15 minutes just to have the server take it back to charge our cards. Note to the people that matter for this review, the perception of time is highly elevated when beverages are involved, water and adult bevvies. With 1-3 minutes that pass, it feels like 10. I've been to Christo's several times--generally calling in my order and picking up to go--and I have yet to have an experience that resulted badly. First, let's talk about the food. The selection alone leaves no one without options. And then there's the fact that everything on the menu is delicious. I recommend the calzones in particular. Second, they are reasonably priced--for the portions. And last, the service. I am an absolute sucker for places with good service and, even if there is a mess up, I will try a place over and over again if I have a positive experience with the service. That is my bias. That being said, I only had one poor experience where my order was messed up. I called, something I rarely do, to complain and the manager was more than happy to assure everything was set right without so much as a hint of irritation or disbelief. I would go to Christo's any day. And, if you're craving Italian or Greek, you should definitely give it a try. read more

3 stars because of the terrible service. The food was 5 stars worthy. It was a beautiful sunny Saturday and everyone in Seattle was out and about so I can understand if service was slow because of that. But what made it worse was that our waitress never checked in with us and never refilled our waters. We were sitting upstairs in the direct sun, which we chose, but water and an update to when our food was going to be out never happened. We waited an hour and fifteen minutes for our 1 shared pizza to arrive!!! Again, pizza was delish but tainted because of how long we had to wait and being ignored. This place is awesome! From the view of the beach, to the warm atmosphere, to the extreme graciousness of Mom and Pop Fotopoulos, and the rest of the staff...you can't ask for more. The food! Greek Sampler is a must, we could of survived off of two of these! The Avgolemono soup is fantastic! Lots of chicken and rice in a wonderfully thick, slightly tart lemon broth. The Souvlaki Lamb w/ Greek Fries was excellent. The lamb was seasoned perfectly and a wonderful medium cook to it, juicy and delicious. I went to Christo's on a wednesday we walked in. I was with my family my sister, my mom and dad we got seated and our waitress was a guy he was nice and asked us what we wanted to drink after that we got our drinks shortly and then we ordered our food and I ordered pasta and everybody else ordered fish and chips. me and my mom went to the bathroom to wash out hands and the waitress kept on staring at me. He was a young male about 17 years old, brown fluffy hair, white tall, and he was staring at me when I sat down and when I was ordering my food in a weird way. My pasta came with a side salad and so about 15 minutes later after we ordered they brought me my salad I have never tasted a salad more awful it was ASS it was watery and had no flavor we were waiting for our food about 30 minutes already and the waitress came up to us and said that the oven broke so it would be a little bit until we got our food but the thing is is that we didn't order any pizza we got food that didn't have to be in the oven and 10 minutes after that they were bringing these people they were white their food and pizza, keep in mind they had got there later than us we were sitting outside in the hot for more than an hour so we told our waitress that we were going to leave and he was unfazed he didn't care at all he said I'm sorry about that and when we said that he smiled we paid for hard drinks didn't charge us for the salad but we got four drinks and didn't even drink them and paid $25 that's how you know they're racist because I've read other reviews on here that relate to my experience. For years, and I mean YEARS we have been looking for a Brunch place that is good and CONSISTENT...yes that is the main and most important ingredient. As a matter of fact, I stopped reviewing brunch places because I go once I love it and then poof...the magic is gone...aahhh but then one rainy morning in early January, we were walking on Alki and we wanted food. Funny enough the first time we came in we had lunch (OMG that pizza was to die for, they fly in the sausage meat from Chicago and it is WHOOP WHOOP good) but I digress...so after falling in love with our lunch experience, we went back..but this time for Brunch and we sat at the bar...a first of many to follow. It is now March, we have met the whole lovely and entertaining family (and as Johnny puts it, once a week go greek)..We have foudn a brunch home. Best consistent egg dishes ever (thank you Chef Brian, you ROCK!) They will modify even my crazy eating issues (don't even think of rolling your eyes Johnny) and the drinks are just as awesome. Great place for lunch, for brunch, to watch a game, to meet awesome locals, to support this awesome family...what are you waiting for? Christo's has some prime real estate on Alki so when I visited for lunch on a sunny Sunday the place was packed! Our waitress let us know ahead of time that it would be atleast a 30 min wait after ordering our food. The heads up was appreciated! The menu offers a little bit of everything, mostly of the Greek variety. I stopped here on lunch with some friends as the half way point on a bike ride so I opted for a lighter option and ordered a grilled chicken sandwich. The highlight was the bun- it was toasted with a little butter and just so darn good! The chicken was moist and seasoned well but it was a pretty average sandwich overall. I LOVE French fries but Cristo's were pretty meh. They didn't seem super fresh and were under salted. Next time I return I will order something more authentic- I'm chalking it up to a bad order on my part! read more

Shame on me for passing by this place so many times & never eating here before. Seriously, what an idiot. From the outside it always looked kind of upscale & fru fru for me, but I was wrong. The sandwich I had was crazy good. The moment I bit into it, I knew I was dealing with real perfection, and it wasn't even my first choice. I initially wanted Eleni's Sub (which is basically a chicken parm), but had to go with Yanni's Sub, because they were fresh out of that kind of chicken. No problem. Got the Yanni's, easy on the sauce. It came out quickly & as delicious as I could ever hope for, with lots of melted mozzarella & nice soft, chewy bread. And the fries were made from fresh potatoes! Our server, Trevor, hooked up my drink on the house because of the "inconvenience." The dude was friendly & super on top of things. Also, the outdoor patio was just a nice place to be on a pleasant evening. This is my spot on Alki now. I'm so stoked to go back. The only reason I hesitate to give this place 5 stars is because my wife's cheese tortellini with meat sauce didn't blow her mind like my dinner blew mine (though she did enjoy it), and also because the dessert options didn't look particularly awesome either. Overall, this place isn't too bad. You won't pay too much but you will get what you pay for. I stopped in and ordered the gyro, and it was perfectly satisfactory. The fries were okay, although nothing spectacular. The service during my visit was pretty good, though. My waitress was friendly, stopped by the table to check on things periodically, and remembered everything that was ordered perfectly even though the restaurant was very busy. The atmosphere is good for families. It's noisy, and there are many tables and booths that will accommodate groups. They have a decent selection of beers on tap, but it would be better to see fewer mainstream options and see more local craft beers available on draft. I want to give this place a better review given how nice the staff is, but the food was absolutely mediocre. The menu and recipes might just need some fine tuning. read more

Strangest restaurant experience. I was holding hands with my girl friend and the owner asked us to stop holding hands claiming we were offending the older customers. When I questioned her judgement her son asked us to leave. This family is from Greece and I don't think the Greek culture has an issue with holding hands in public. Regardless, we won't be back but we will always have this strange story to share with our friends. read more

What a disappointment. Order the (overpriced $16!) appetizer of calamari. First it comes cold. Told the server and she apologized and took it back. 5 min later the "new" calamari comes. Pretty sure it was the same order, just put back in the fryer. As I had my first bite and couldn't even chew it. I normally never do this but i told them to cancel the rest of the food order paid for my drink and left. Just because you are at a prime location does not excuse your poor food. ( would not let me do ZERO staes ) $10 drink tasted like garbage and spoiled juice $28 dollar fettuccine Alfredo with chicken dish THAT I WAITED OVER AND HOUR FOR tasted like complete garbage. Flavorless and cold. They have no customer service and never even offered to take care of my whole bill, she simply took of the food after making me wait another 10 min for her to run around before making me a priority to get me out of there somewhat happy. The location of this place is great, but the food was less than average... We felt like eating breakfast and it was 2pm, so the waitress sold us on the breakfast with a window booth (wide open garage door style window). I had the Monte Cristo Breakfast Sandwich that was tasty, but a little small for $11. It came with a tiny side of Hash browns that you could eat with 3 bites. My wife has an omlet that seemed average, nor did she mention a single word about it. My kids split a kids French toast plate ($5) and split a side of bacon ($4). The bacon was very good, but we should've just gotten two kids breakfasts (blame the waitress) for the price. The kids plate came with a scrambled egg that look very good, but they didn't taste like anything (fail on the scramble). To top things off, the PIZZA looked REALLY GOOD (shoud've gotten that). There was a loud dog barking that was tied up next to the entrance, then the owner arrived from a provisions run (who was honking his horn to let his people know that he needed help carrying in a truck load of food). The owner had problems parallel parking, so we watched that spectacle for 10 minutes (uggg). Talk about DISTRACTIONS!!!! Other than the great location, I will not be going back here and I regret not going to get the Taco's at El Chupacabra's the next block down. C- read more

Great service. A bit cold out on the roof top patio seating though. (BYOB bring your own blanket) But otherwise, lovely people. For some reason, the pizza crust just blew me out of the water. After reading the positive reviews on yelp, I'm pretty disappointed in my experience at Christo's. The two of us ordered gyros, he went with fries and I decided on "mixed greens" side salad. What we received was pretty pathetic... We both received our gyros with different toppings and NO tzatziki sauce... Mine had two slices of meat and tomatoes, his had two slices of meat with lettuce and onion. And no tzatziki sauce? How does that happen, it's a gyro, that's the second main ingredient. It was a worthless $7 gyro. We were both still super hungry and upset we spent that much on such a pathetic gyro. My salad was definitely not a "mixed greens", it was just iceberg lettuce. And then the bill was wrong and overcharged us for drinks. The place seemed overwhelmed with customers and had only two waitresses holding down the floor, so I assumed they were just too busy. But... man, it was a sad meal. I had high hopes, very disappointed! Maybe in the future I'll just go to Christos for drinks... Although, I will say the people who ordered pizza, it looked real good. read more
