We spent almost $300 for dinner, which we expected, but the overall experience left us disappointed. This is a buffet where you order your main dishes on a tablet, and the staff brings those items to your table. If you want drinks, salad, desserts, or anything else from the buffet, you have to get it yourself. Because of that, I was surprised when the payment was brought to the table and the server stood there while we completed the transaction. The tip screen was already set to 20%, which would have been almost $60-70. I have no problem tipping for great service, but it didn't feel justified for the level of service we received. What was most frustrating was being charged for both of my young children. Before we were seated, I explained that one of my children wasn't going to eat. He is autistic and only ate the Goldfish crackers we brought for him. I was told he still had to be charged regardless. I understand restaurants have policies, but it was disappointing to pay for a child who didn't eat any of the buffet. The food was good, but the overall experience didn't feel like a good value. Between paying for a child who didn't eat, the mostly self-service setup, and feeling pressured to leave a large tip while someone stood at the table waiting, I left feeling disappointed. I hope the restaurant considers making exceptions for situations like this and rethinks the way the payment and tipping process is handled. Love the response no accountability for any I know kids price are different But if I'm telling you my kid is disabled and only will eat the goldfish I brought and his own water bottle we should not have to pay 50+ for him to join the table read more

I've always enjoyed the food at Chubby Cattle's other locations, but unfortunately our experience at this location was disappointing due to the service from management. I didn't get her name but this is specifically for the manager (female) that was working Monday, 2/9/2026 from 7-10PM. We had a reservation a week or two in advance for 7 people and were seated at a table that comfortably fits 4. It was extremely cramped and made the entire dining experience uncomfortable. We requested a larger table that appeared to be available, but the manager told us it was taken. The frustrating part was that no one was seated at that table the entire time we were there. What made this even more disappointing was that 3 of us are Chubby Club members, and we were also celebrating a birthday. We would have expected the manager to be more accommodating given those circumstances. Instead, the manager had a noticeably poor attitude and was not helpful at all, which made the situation worse. She gets a 0/5. That said, our server Tyler was absolutely amazing. He did a fantastic job handling the situation and clearly tried his best to make up for the rough start. He was empathetic, attentive, and very efficient throughout the night. He truly saved the experience for us. I honestly wish I could give him a separate review because he deserves more than 5/5. The food was good as always. We just wish we had been given the space we reserved and treated with a bit more consideration. I hope management takes feedback like this seriously, because great servers like Tyler deserve better support. And based on previous reviews, it seems like there have been many complaints about the seating arrangements and management here as well. read more

Eh... not impressed. Super expensive and they were out of soo many things and still insisted on trying to sign us up for a membership. The diet soda spout wasn't working so there was only regular soda avail. Ipad was also not working and kept glitching and the bathroom was not well kept at all.. literally the toilet paper was on the floor. That's unacceptable especially at a new restaurant. The food is ok, obviously incredibly fatty.. literally like eating lard lol we felt soo sick after. Ambiance is cute - it's where Gyu used to be in the topanga mall. I don't know if we went on the wrong day, but a lot of items were missing off the menu. You can genuinely taste the quality of the meat, and every cut we tried was flavorful and tender. The whole experience felt elevated but still relaxed and fun. There were great options to choose from, and everything came out quickly and fresh. Huge shoutout to our host Lewis Sison -- he truly made our first visit memorable. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and made us feel so welcomed. Chubby cattle finally made it to the valley! Beware of long wait times but worth a try if you are looking for upscale ayce. No reservations but I do like the fact they have bigger tables compared to the SGV location. Chubby cattle is located in the Topanga mall right next to target on the lower level. Plenty of parking in the structure walkable from target. You start with selecting between gold and silver menu. The gold has a lot more premium choices of meat but it is limited which is great to try if it's your first wagyu experience. You order with an iPad and the meat comes out quick. The secret is dipping the meat into their special salt and other dipping sauces. The A5 brisket is definitely the winner in repeat orders sadly it only comes in 3 slices but you have the option to max out at 10 orders in your cart every time which is nice. They have other seafood and sushi options as well as an other cold items at the salad bar. Lastly, can't forget the dessert bar which includes egg tarts, crepe cakes, ice cream machine and other unique beverage options like milk tea. There is a 90 minute time limit and the whole party needs to be present to be seated. Our server Tyler was very friendly and provided excellent service. The price point is a little on the higher end but would come back just for Tyler! Unfortunately no alcoholic beverages hopefully that gets updated soon! read more

This was a nice replacement for the Gyu-Kaku that used to be here. Similar with Gyu-Kaku but has more Wagyu choices and buffet style non-grilled items. Order via tablet and came pretty fast. Slight changes on decor and layout. read more
