Being hungry, everything looked good in the menu. I wanted to try everything. Since my husband was a member and it was his birthday, there was some benefits. The premium items that were included, limited, we ordered, and it was delicious. You can tell the difference from the other regular options. It was a nice independent experience with quality items. The self serve station was skating well stocked. Staff was nice and attentive. My friends and I made a reservation for a Monday night and it was packed! Once seated you choose the tier of AYCE you'd like - we opted for their most basic silver tier and quality and choices were still amazing! They offer a good variety of small appetizers and hot foods at their buffet, drinks and desserts that are out are included in the price you pay. The price is definitely worth it since they have so many options for grilling and made to order appetizers and entrees including nigiri, fried foods and even hotpot/shabu shabu. The food comes out relatively quickly and it's a great place to grab food with groups of friends without breaking the bank. Booked a reservation here with my family, including two kids, and we had an amazing time! If you're a fan of wagyu, this is definitely the place to be. We tried a variety of cuts, and when we started to feel a bit full, we switched things up with some salmon and yellowtail before continuing on. My kids had the fried rice and absolutely devoured it. I get super overwhelmed with spots with huge selections. I was able to order at my own pace. They had 3 tiers and we went for the middle one. Have previously tried both Chubby Cattle and NikuX in Los Angeles, I was so excited to see a Chubby Cattle open in NYC. We did walk in for dinner for 2 people at 5PM, we arrived at 4:50 and were seated within 10 minutes. The staff was friendly, our waiter explained everything including the differences in menus. Everything is ordered either electronically on the screen at your table OR they have some options also available at a self service station. The restaurant is bright and clean, and made me feel like I was in Japan again. We opted for the silver tier, which still included plenty of meat options, as well as other dishes like sushi, soups, and other rice dishes. The meat was absolutely delicious, we enjoyed every cut that we had. The sushi was also pretty solid for a restaurant that prioritizes meat. Honestly, for the price, the quality was excellent, 90 minutes is plenty of time to eat your money's worth. My recommendation is to skip lunch that day to take full advantage of all their delicious options. Overall, will eat there again, and I am crossing my fingers for one to open in North Jersey! read more

First time here and we had a wonderful experience! Our server Kasey was fantastic - super friendly, helpful, and attentive. She made the experience wonderful. Our table was quickly cleared, our grill was changed frequently, and she was so on top of it! In fact, ALL the staff here were on top of it - it seemed like anyone that passed our table would grab an empty plate/bowl to keep things moving. Really well oiled machine. All of the meats were flavorful, tender, and came quickly. LOVE the ordering system on the kiosk instead of having to order with a person. We got the middle 'gold' tier and it was worth it for the extra types of dishes - although I would have been totally happy with everything in the silver tier also - great value! The side dishes were also great - argentina shrimp, sushi/carpaccio, and we got some signature dishes like the shrimp tempura, truffle fries, fried calamari, chicken wings, shumai, and stone pot rice. The self-serve stations with drinks were presentable, clean, and tasty. Loved the milk tea and the sauce station. The veggie station was very well maintained and presentable with good variety although I only got seaweed salad from it :) Our clothes smelled a little bit after leaving and at home, but dissipated quickly, compared to some other BBQ places where it lingers on your clothes forever. So kudos to the ventilation system in here. All in all, it was a great experience and I am excited to come back again. Usually with AYCE places, I don't want to even think about going back for 6 months, but I'm already ready to go back to Chubby Cattle. read more

A more expensive AYCE (ended up being ~$75/person). The meat quality was very good. There was nothing wrong with the food at all, I think the experience could have used some improvement. The different packages were explained very quickly and was hard to follow. The buffet to get sauce, apps, and drinks was poorly organized and didn't provide a natural flow for the crowd. Also a lot of items were empty and not replenished quickly. I felt rushed during my meal where usually for AYCE the time limit is a bit looser. The menu had a wide variety of items of good quality. I don't know if I'd come again unless my parents were paying The ambience was Japanese themed and exciting but a little over stimulating. read more

It arrived looking so appetizing. I also was a huge fan of the carpaccio. We went with the silver package and it was more than enough offerings to pick from. A great deal for the quality we got. High quality ingredients and AYCE experience! You can pick between 3 different tiers, with more variety with each higher priced tier. You can order items off a screen at your table and also walk up to the second floor to get things like vegetables, soft drinks, milk tea (!), miso soup, and ice cream. We had a limit of 10 items per order (with a party of 5) with a minimum of 7 minutes of wait time between orders, but this was enough time for us to get our fill. The milk tea was delicious and had a strong tea flavor, which I loved. Visited this location with my family, we had an additional guest but were able to squeeze six people at the table. The staff were kind enough to set up a side table for us to hold to meat allowing more space on the main table. We also had an allergy to watch for and they were great about double checking everything and verifying contents of sauces and food. The food was all delicious, we went with the gold package and had good variety. I appreciated the ability to get the sides and drinks myself.
