Full of flavor and tasted great. Price: 4/5. Average for this type of restaurant in the area. Service: 5/5. Polite and attentive, no issue there. Ambiance: 5/5. Our party of 5 and a baby arrived on a Friday morning about 0930 and were instantly greeted. All of the booths can only accommodate 4, but adding a chair and the end of a table we were able to seat all five. The food here is excellent along with the service and breakfast items are generally under $10. We ordered the All American breakfast, ($8.99) consisting of 2 eggs, 2 biscuits with country gravy and 2 links of sausage; Juke Box special ($8.49) consisting of 2 eggs, 2 bacon pieces, and 2 hotcakes; corn beef hash and eggs ($8.99) with grilled potatoes and a muffin: French toast ($6.99) dusted with powdered sugar; Soldier Boy ($8.49), with 2 eggs, 4 sausages, grilled potatoes, and a muffin; short stack of pancakes (~$6), coffee was $2.15. The meals were excellent and there were plenty to eat and the coffee (rather weak) was replenished many times. Nothing fancy about this place, but solid quality food and great service. That's how long this place has been here.... they must be doing something right being one of the only businesses lasting in Roseville Square for so long. I checked my Yelp and didn't see a closing time, so my daughter, friend and I walked in at 8. It was a little busy. A table leaving, a another table ordering, and three others eating on the stools. We waited a few minutes and Ann greeted us with a huge smile! She had a wonderful attitude and it made us feel so welcomed. It took us so long to order! There were so many good things on the menu! Everything from Steak & Eggs to Fish & Chips. Appetizers like Mozzarella Sticks and Deep Fried Zucchini... but I wanted the Chubbys's Original....A Burger, with Mel's Sauce, and the lettuce, onion, tomato, pickle on the side. It came with a heaping show of fries. I added cheddar cheese and got a side of ranch. My daughter had eaten a little bit earlier, so she got Mozzarella Sticks with ranch. My friend also got the Chubby's Original. ..I copied her ;-P We both got chocolate shakes. It came with the extras in a metal cup and a spoon. It was SOOO GOOOOOOOOD! The food didn't take long at all. Ann brought it all out, no pickles on my plate like I asked :-D You can see the kitchen from the diningroom. The cook seemed nice. He was quite, but did a beautiful job. We laughed, and when we were done at about 8:30. Ann came by and cleared our plates. She brought us or checks, took a few minutes to pay, and we did half part cash and the rest on my card. She brought it back and we told her what a great time we had and addled what time they closed....8. What??? Omg! We got there at 8! We had no idea! We apologized and felt really bad for Rubin, the cook, and apologized to Ann. Everyone was so wonderful! I couldn't believe they were so sweet and welcoming, when I came at their closing time! I live in Reno and I eat here exclusively for breakfast whenever I come over the hill for business. It is run by Jason and his partner Glen. They use to have a bar in the City. They provide excellent service and more importantly a great breakfast for a reasonable price.' My kids love this place whenever we are on our way to Six Flags and/ or the City. Be aware they are packed on weekends. Sitting at the counter is your best bet if you are by yourself and don't want to wait. See you guys in a week. In many ways, it's just your typical diner with breakfast all day and all things fried. However the man running the joint is so incredibly friendly and helpful that the food seemed better than it might have seemed otherwise. I had a burger and ordered it without a bun, just expecting it to be plopped on the plate to eat with my fork and knife. Instead I was pleasantly surprised by it being brought out wrapped in crispy lettuce and foil to keep my hands clean as I ate. Again, a little basic, but the fact they did that little extra step for me without me even asking kicked it up a notch. Been going to Chubbys off Douglas for years, ordered out this morning for pick up, I live 4 min down the road, ordered bacon, eggs over easy and hashbrowns and a side of biscuits and gravy ,eggs were super hard cooked the egg was more cooked than a hard boiled egg, all 4 bacon strips burnt to a crumbling crisp, they mixed my biscuits w gravy before I even picked it up.... is now gravy soup w chunks of mushy biscuit.. my daughter's order , hash browns with chicken sausage.... she does not eat pork.... found many chunks of bacon in her also ordered hashbrowns? I am sure glad we came across this place on yelp! It was a much better option the Ihop. They even have homemade fresh biscuits! The eggs were cooked perfect, good sausage, and yummy hash browns.
