So first it took over 10 minutes just to get chips and over 20 minutes for someone to take our order so service sucked. It felt like we were the inconvenience here. The drinks were meh and the apps were too. My wife's burrito looked more like enchiladas than a burrito. My kids Mac and cheese didn't have any cheese. My beef fajita tacos were on cold tortillas and the meat was cold as well. My little girl got a burger and she said the school burger is way better than here. Nothing about this location stood out nothing amazing . It was all meh I would never come here again. I guess you have to be drunk off your butt to like it here. Never mind COVID19, you just did what? YUCK! We visited Chuy's during happy hour last week as we often do. The service was absolutely horrible! We sat at the bar in a space previous patrons were in and the bartender passed by us 3 times before cleaning off the area. He didn't say one word! I asked if we could place an order, and he still said nothing. We proceeded to order our drinks. We had to waive him down and ask for chips and salsa. This guy still hasn't said one word. We ordered boom sauce with beef and it came out promptly. He passed by us and delivered the order to other patrons who advised they didn't place the order. Then he brought the order back to us. NOPE, he still didn't say anything to us. Go Figure! Like is this a Mute Bartender or something? We waived him down again to get drink refills and place our food orders (fajita beef tacos and enchiladas.....mmmm so yummy). While waiting for our order, a Waiter came to the bar to get martinis for his patrons and he did the ultimate. This guy STUCK HIS BARE HANDS IN THE JAR OF OLIVES, TOOK SOME OUT AND DROPPED THEM IN THE DRINKS! Nasty!!!!!!! Just never mind COVID19, huh? I said yuuuuuck, how gross! He turned and said, we wash our hands all the time so my hands are clean. I responded, I never said you didn't wash your hands, I said it's freaking gross for you to stick your hands in that jar of olives without gloves and you're touching on glasses, counters, trays, aprons, etc. it's just gross!!! The food came out and my order was missing. I told them to just cancel it. What do you know, Mr Mute started talking. I guess he was happy it was closing time or maybe he was happy about the Tequila shots he and his coworkers started drinking while on the clock. Rarely do I give two stars. I was really disappointed by the experience. The server was fine for the most part. Not perfect but no one is. The food just didn't work for me. And I'll tell you I love Mexican influenced food. I had the steak burrito. It should have been so great. I didn't adjust any thing about the dish. The salsa is too spicy when the server says none are very spicy. There was much too little in the burrito for it to be a burrito. This was a rolled quasidilla at best. Mr. Charles went above and beyond to make our experience very special after learning we are california natives who once live in Texas. During our residence in Texas we would often eat at Chuy's just to get some of their creamy jelepeño. Well Charles made sure we relived all those beautiful moments we once shared once again. Parking tip- there's a free underground garage with entrance by the strip mall closer to 75! Chuys is always a Texas favorite. It's not my go to for Tex mex because I always find it a bit too salty. I appreciate that the flavors are always consistent. I got the Tacos al carbon with steak and found the meat to be too tough to chew, but my bf didn't think so. It was my first time getting it, and I don't think I'll be ordering it again, but my bf said he would! This location is great for accommodating large groups. They recooked the food and the manager, personally, delivered it to my house - 6 miles from the restaurant. He didn't hesitate to suggest this as the solution. Above and beyond. What a cute place. I was absolutely sold when I walked in and saw a wall of dog pictures, so cute. For the appetizer, we had guac which was way different than the guac I am used to - it had a ton of shredded iceberg lettuce in it. We both ordered tacos as our meal and they were very good - the homemade tortillas were amazing. Tres leches cake for dessert was HUGE and well worth the price. Our visit started off extremely rocky. It was National Margarita Day and I knew it was going to be a busy day but my partner really wanted to visit Chuy's after my other restaurant was packed out with more than a one hour wait. We waited patiently for 45 minutes to be seated. The hostess took our name and phone number which would then later send me a text to let me know when it was time. When we were called, we were brought to our table which had been occupied by another couple. Apparently, another hostess told them it was open seating. Michael, took us somewhere else to sit and a booth. Another waitress, approached us and asked, "Were you seated here and did you check in with the front?" I advised her that we did check in but she became so defensive which I did not like. Instead of assuming, she should have checked in with the front to see what was going on. Fast forward to the food -- Our appetizers were brought out quickly. The waitress was a little slow to take our order. I ordered the Raspberry/Blackberry Margarita with a souvenir cup and my partner ordered a typical Margarita also. We had the chips and traditional queso with creamy jalapeño sauce. Food was good. I ordered the Pancho tacos but it lacked having flavor. I may not ever order that again. It seemed pretty much flavorless to me The shrimp tacos were good and cooked to perfection and had no complaints. Maybe because they were busy, that is what caused our originally hiccup. Server Anna was extremely rude. At end of meal, I realized she gave me the wrong drink size because I had asked for a "tall" not a "grande" which is how she described them to me when ordering. The check showed a charge for a grande which was not what I had asked for. I told her that I had asked for a tall, she scoffed, fixed the check and when she came back grabbed the drink so that I was unable to finish. I was MAYBE 3/4-1/2 done with the drink but it was certainty uncalled for to take the drink when she was the one who messed up. VERY rude. The drink appeared to be a regular size glass which I guess is the grande but I did not know that when she served me-again it was regular size cup and I assumed she got my order correct.
