There is a garlic butter sauce called garlic butter sauce actually. The others are house, garlicky, casian, lemon pepper, shackies, and shambalang. You can mix sauces to get different flavors and shambalang is a mix of them all.

Hows the wait time for this place?

There was no wait when I get but it was on a weeknight close to closing time. I'm sure there is a wait on the weekends and all since it's a smaller place. There is also a boba spot next to it too so it will always look busy.

Plus it came with shiso leaves and tempura crunchies so it was really no comparison. Overall this was a delicious meal that left me extremely full, unlike other seafood bowls that leave you just a little too hungry. Given the tastiness of their dashi, I'll def be back to try their udon. Also, as an added bonus, my dogs love the little dashi fish topper on their food they sell separately at the front. I told them I wanted 120 Pacific oysters and the worker brought it out right away. They were $120 but since I used my card to pay, they tacked on $5 to the price. I think you have to spend a certain amount to avoid the $5 credit card charge. They asked if I was ok with it and I told them it was fine and proceeded to pay. They have newspapers on the side that you can use to put in ur car so the water from the oysters doesn't get on the car carpet. The oysters were really good and tasted fresh. We ended up killing all 120 oysters last night. Highly recommend this place for oysters. That wasn't the case at The City Fish as the meat was moist. I did have a problem with the fries as they were soggy. Due to the texture I couldn't finish the whole serving of fries. I liked the size portion of the fish. The breading on the other hand wasn't tempura style and therefore not crispy enough as I expected. Overall The City Fish is a decent place if you want a quick bite to eat fish and chips.

There's two huge meat fridges showing you what they have, plus couple fridges and shelves filled with stuff that you might need to cook with your food like spices, aromatics, seasonings. The staff here are really nice and helpful too. They even give you complimentary containers of their salt rub. My partner and I specifically come here specifically for their Picanha steaks which are extremely high quality and affordable. They're great to cook using the reverse sear method or grill like they do at Brazilian steak houses. They taste fantastic with chimichurri or even just with flaky salt because of how buttery the steaks are on their own. The last time we were here, we got 10 steaks for around $150 and we seriously thought we'd be spending way more. Of course the cost will depend on what you, like the prime rib here is very expensive, but weigh out your options! I do think everything else here seems to be a great price for the quality compared to mass grocers. I'd highly recommend anyone to check out this shop!

Went here the other day to give it a try. I was really hesitant about this place because I'm very picky about my crawfish and the only place that has met up to my standards was Kickin Crab. I absolutely love love love Cajun style seafood and I go almost once a week! I've tried many different types of crawfish locations before and I've got to say Claw shack really impressed me! First of all, the sauce here is AMAZING. I'm a big fan of Kickin crab's sauce but I must admit the sauce here is officially my new favorite ! I got the Seafood combo with Shrimp, crawfish, sausage and corn with the shambalang sauce and a side of their thickest sauce . I forgot the name of the thick sauce but you MUST try it. I also got the 15 wing sampler and I absolutely love the Garlic honey wings and the lemon pepper. The service here was great and overall I had an amazing experience and I'm so happy I found a new great location . Definitely adding this to my number one location for Cajun / creole food. If they add garlic noodles to their menu this place would be HEAVENLY. Overall if I'm craving garlic noodles and crawfish I'll be going to kickin crab but when I'm craving crawfish and delicious wings I'll definitely be going here (: Just a heads up their spice levels are no joke like other places are. On a Sunday evening, my family and I came to Claw Shack and unfortunately had a very unpleasant experience with one particular waiter (photo attached). I've been coming here since my college years, and I've always enjoyed this restaurant because the staff has usually been kind and professional. Sadly, this time was different. While we were waiting on the bench inside for our table (as instructed by another staff member who said it would be less than 5 minutes), a waiter wearing a black hat and dirty shoes suddenly came up and told us to wait outside. He wasn't our server or the manager, yet he insisted twice that we leave the restaurant and stand outside in the heat. This was upsetting, especially for our 2-year-old daughter, who had been happy walking in but ended up crying and frustrated once we were told to wait outdoors. What made it worse is that instead of helping his coworker clean up the table or even checking with them, this waiter stood in front of us and repeatedly told us to go outside. It felt unnecessary and rude, and it completely ruined our dine-in experience. I've been dining in Claw Shack since my college years with friends and family, and I've never encountered behavior like this from any staff member here. It was disappointing and unprofessional, and I truly hope management addresses this so that other families don't have the same experience. read more

Seafood and chicken, my favorites and most difficult to resist. I've been to a few places that provide seafood but never felt satisfied so I most make it at home, which is better but still not satisfactory enough. Then I found Claw Shack on Yelp and it had good reviews, also, the pictures looked really appetizing. That's all it took me to find my way to Claw Shack, it's a bit out of my way, but definitely worth it. After my first time here, I've come again multiple times with a few friends and we all feel that the service and food here deserve five stars, and since I feel so, I thought it was about time I leave a positive review if this place. The place is small so it gets crowded quickly and sometimes you have to wait a bit to be seated, and the tables are covered in plastic. To eat your food, they provide you with plastic glove to enjoy your food. They even provide spices at the table so that you can adjust according to your taste. They also have many types of sauce and my favorite is the one infused with lemon juice. Goes well with chicken wings! I'd suggest you what all to try, but everything here is so good, you'll either need a large group of people or a few visits to taste everything. Claw Shack is my ultimate choice for seafood boil in San Jose. Before I knew about Cajun Crack'n, I would visit here almost every other week. A few years ago, a friend recommended it to me. Since then, I've had many wonderful times here with my loved ones. I love its proximity to my home, but I do miss the one on White Road as it's a bit larger. For any seafood you pick, pair it with Shackie's sauce. It's extremely delicious. Another place with consistent quality and fresh seafood. Their shrimp is always cooked just right. I can tell good shrimp by its shell. Their Cajun fries and garlic noodles are also excellent. There have never been any issues with the service. The staff are always friendly and attentive. This might be one of the most hidden gems of seafood spots in the South Bay. Now there's only one left, and I truly hope it can stay in business for a long time! Don't miss it. read more

We came on a Sunday afternoon at 3pm and asked for a table of 5. Mind you the restaurant was empty. They would not seat us until the complete party was there being that we already 4 of 5 people just waiting in the 5th. Our 5th person was 5 minutes away. We were also directed to wait outside in the hot sun on an 85 degree day with zero shade. I understand this is their policy, but as business owner I don't appreciate the rigidity, especially when you are 90% empty. This generation of kids don't have what it takes to run a business. Is this better than Boiling Crab? I don't know, maybe! If you want something similar to Boiling Crab with less of a wait time, then Claw Shack is your place! Their seafood is super fresh and big. I feel like it's more fresh than Boiling Crabs. My boyfriend and I shared a pound of shrimp, a pound of crawfish, and a pound of clams with the hot Shangbalang and let me tell ya, it was soooo good. We have not yet tried the appetizers yet but we will the next time we come. Really looking forward to trying their lobster tail and snow crab legs as well. read more

We had a shrimp/clam combo and it was excellent. The Shambalang sauce was great. I had the medium and he had the hot. I'm very glad I didn't get the hot. I would not have been able to eat it, but he raved about it and truly loved it. This is my favorite place I've been in the San Jose area. I truly loved the food. I would pass on the garlic noodles. They aren't bad, but they are very bland. There are too many other great choices. We ate here three times before we left and we were only there four days. I would call this one a must do. read more

Nothing fancy here, just good seafood and good service too! The staff here is really on top of their game. The food was prepped quickly, presented nicely, and they were attentive to our table when we needed things like extra plates/napkins. As for the food I suggest trying the king crab with garlic butter to dip in, it's seriously delicious. I've yet to try their shrimp, but I've been told that it's also real tasty as well. My preferred spot for Vietnamese Louisiana fusion seafood boils in the Bay Area is hands down Love Shackie's. As a seafood enthusiast, I've sampled most of the seafood boil establishments in the region, but Love Shackie's has remained my go-to for years. The sauce here surpasses that of Crab Hut in my opinion, as it boasts a delightful garlicky flavor with less butter. Boiling crab used to be our best choice when it come to cajun seafood. Unfortunately, they keep changing the sauce and it was no longer fit my taste anymore, so we give this place a try. I've been a frequent visitor to this ausumn seafood restaurant in North Valley. Amongst the foods one should definitely try are crawfish, snow crab clusters, king crab legs, shrimp, clams, or lobster tail in one of eight sauces. The Shambalang is simply outstanding! Claw Shack is my favorite seafood spot in San Jose! The shrimp and crawfish are HUGE and super juicy, and their sauces are the best -- especially the Shambalang and Shackie's Sauce. You have to get the garlic bread to dip in the sauce... it's seriously addicting. Their chicken wings and garlic noodles are also bomb! Some people don't like to work for food, but if you do, this place is the best. It is a bit more reasonably priced than some, and is really fresh. I got the headless shrimp and Manila clams 1lb bags. I like that you can sit with your family or friends and talk about things as you peel and eat.
