I next tried the tofu, and it was just okay. Compared to the fish cake, it was rather plain. The tofu itself wasn't marinated, so it relied on the sauce and egg butter to carry it. My overall first impression is that the ingredients here are fresh, and service is efficient, but the style of the banh mi leans more fusion than strictly authentic. The duck salad was interesting because it came with essentially a wafer like shell to eat with the salad. The shell was like a waffle cone, a little too sweet, and not thing enough to be a taco shell. It was a bit hard to eat, but it was easier when we broke it up into chip piece and scooped the salad that way. I liked how the salad came with pomelo. The flavors were a bit too strong, strong in acidity and savoriness. But I did think it was creative. For the pad see ew, this also felt different from what I usually see because they sprinkled white pepper powder on top. I really enjoy white pepper powder, so we liked this dish. But, I can see how the flavors can be a bit too strong for other people. Ultimately I think it's a cool place to try out and try food that might be new to you.
