SERVICE - located near civic center - parking can be hard to find since there are a lot of popular events nearby. there are a few lots available within a 10 minute walk - no reservations - bar area in the front and seating at smaller tables in the back - ambiance good for a date night or intimate meal with a smaller group - service was friendly though never came to check on us to fill water or clear our plates during our meal. for a restaurant that is marketed as slightly upscale, I was hoping for something more personable - food served relatively quickly MENU - global selection of large and small shareable - all vegan/vegetarian - slightly pricey FOOD - crab arancini (8/10): three crispy rice and jackfruit balls topped with pickled onion on a bed of spicy aioli. This was a wonderful appetizer. We asked for an extra ball since we went as a party of four. The filling has a slight acidity and freshness that feels like an elevated version of a nostalgic dish. I would recommend getting this to share. - beet pesto salad (7/10): roasted beetroot with arugula, tofu ricotta, pistachio pesto, and Parmesan. I was craving something fresh and green to pair with the snacky items we were getting. Our server recommended this to us and although it seemed simple I liked how each ingredient shone. The tofu ricotta was a creamy base with a strong punch of lemon. I did not get much dill in it though. I also got no pesto throughout the entire plate even though it was had pesto in the name. - pesto mac and cheese (7/10): pasta and butternut squash in a creamy sauce topped with breadcrumbs. Had this been called just mac and cheese I would have ranked it much higher. Similar to the salad there was no pesto to be found. I did enjoy the addition of butternut squash for sweetness to balance the cashew cream sauce. - truffle mushroom au gratin (5/10): roasted oyster mushroom and vegetables on a red wine sauce with a stack of scallop potatoes. The description for this was quite different than what we were served. When I imagine an au gratin, I think of something baked in a skillet that is warm and bubbling. This was small pieces on a plate. The mushrooms and vegetables were okay but not spectacular. I enjoyed the potatoes and wished they were an appetizer on their own. - strawberry and cream cuernito (6/10): puff pastry crescent filled with coconut custard and strawberry jam with a side of chocolate ice cream. This was the only dessert available. In theory the components all worked well together, but I felt like the actual execution could have been improved. For a dish with strawberry in the name, there was almost no strawberry in the pastry. I also would have preferred a warm chocolate sauce instead of the ice cream. WOULD I GO BACK? Yes! I really liked the concept and the ambiance and would want to try it again for a hopefully higher review

Obsessed with the pickle cocktail, the crab arancini was nice and crunchy, the tostada was a bit difficult to eat and was more on the sour side, the tacos were pretty filling! Really cool that everything was vegan Really nice dark and intimate vibes for a cocktail and a bite before catching a show. On the pricier side for sure tho

The ambiance wasn't really my vibe but the food was incredible!! Loved the nachos & the burger was insane!! I highly recommend coming here for the food

Vegan spot for those who follow that lifestyle! I am not a vegan but the food was pretty good, especially impressed with the mac and cheese. Drinks were alright, everything a little pricey. Neighborhood is okay, parking wasn't difficult and there was no wait. Service was quick, ambiance was dark. I've been here for their evening phonobar and that vibe seems a little bit more fitting.

Last night I went with a friend to Om Sabor before walking over to see the Nutcracker a couple blocks away. We dined on some delightful small bites from the eclectic (and fully vegan) menu from Om Sabor. We tried: 1. "choriqueso" empanadas: housemade soyrizo, potato, coconut mozzarella, chipotle pinto beans, cilantro-radish slaw. These empanadas were way more filling than I was expecting. Probably because the masa dough was a bit thick, but really tasty flavor and I loved the fresh slaw and refried beans. 2. Fig "cheese" tart: caramelized onions, red wine reduction figs, arugula, garlic confit tofu ricotta, balsamic glaze, on puff pastry. This was our favorite bite of the night! So well balanced - sweet and savory with that flaky pastry. 3. "Crab" arancini: arborio rice, lemon garlic jackfruit, guajillo, salsa macha aioli. Also a standout! Perfectly crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, with tasty sauces. I wouldn't necessarily say it tasted like crab but it tasted delicious! 4. "Clam" chowder: oyster + king trumpet mushrooms, cremini bacon, celery, potato, carrot, garlic confit, cashew bechamel, crostini. Sooo creamy and comforting, this was a really hearty bowl of chowda! Again, don't go into it expecting it to taste like clams but rather like a scrumptious creamy mushroom soup which is what I was craving. A must-try! 5. Drink: "grapefruit moon" cocktail with grapefruit, serrano rosemary syrup, lime, and tequila. Nicely tart with a hint of smoky spice, we both really enjoyed this drink. This was a fantastic meal and I'm surprised I don't see Om Sabor mentioned more often in lists of vegan places to eat in San Francisco because the food was impressively good and the atmosphere was really cool - dim but not so dark you can't see the menu, with plants and gold accents, very chic. We sat at the bar and the bartender who served us was very friendly and our food came out incredibly promptly. My friend (who is not vegan) enjoyed the meal thoroughly so I would recommend Om Sabor to vegans and omnivores alike!

I've had Om Sabor on my bookmarks for the longest time so when we had tickets to a show at Davies, I knew that would be the chance to go! My friend and I shared two plates, a dessert, and got a drink each and it was the perfect early dinner before our show. We went with the jackfruit flautas which were exceptionally convincing as "chicken" flautas. The flavors were punchy, the flautas were done right - crispy on the outside but soft and savory on the inside. We also opted for the ceviche tostadas done with trumpet mushrooms. Again, the flavors were spot on. In this instance, it was much more obvious that we weren't eating meat, but without knowing that it was mushrooms, we also couldn't place it. We cleaned it up with the Tres Leches done with three non-dairy milks, nice! It was on the coconutty side but not overwhelmingly so. It was decadent and fully saturated, just how a tres leche ought to be. The funny part was that there was some misplaced micro greens on top, and I sure hope that was a mistake but also...Hayes valley, it wouldn't surprise me either. Overall, my friend and I really enjoyed it!

After a long night of exploring SF, I decided to come to this fully vegan bar/restaurant. It was so delicious! My partner and I shared the carne asada nachos and the Om Burger. The ambiance was so moody and fancy. The vibes were great! The food was genuinely phenomenal. My partner isn't vegan or vegetarian and he still to this day raves about this place. 100% would recommend.

I had the best vegan meal I've ever had at this cozy, intimate bar/restaurant. I had a hard time choosing from the great menu but went with the empanadas and clam chowder. Both were amazing and tasted award winning. Plus all of their drinks are great as mocktails- I had the desert rose and it was yummy. Danny the bartender was attentive and the service was fast- my food came out in 5 minutes!

Om Sabor was an incredible plant-based dining experience that left my heart feeling happy and taste buds extremely satisfied. They offer open seating in their bar area, back room, and even outside. Once seated, our waiter came over to give us all the menus including their weekday happy hour (17:00 - 19:00), mains, and drinks. We started with their Carne Asada Tacos and Ceviche Tostadas from the happy hour menu. Both were phenomenal. The ceviche was fresh on top of crispy corn tortilla and the mock carne asada was flavorful that you really couldn't tell it apart from the meat version. For our mains, we shared a few items for the table including the Carne Asada Nachos, Oyster Mushroom Calamari (HIT!), Crispy Mushroom Potato Gratin (heavenly), and their Teriyaki Chicken Skewers. Every single item we had was delicious, well executed, and surprisingly very filling which was good since the pricing is higher being in the city. I would go back for anything mushroom related especially that calamari - one of my favorite crispy mushroom dishes. We had a fantastic experience and I am eager to return to try more of their dishes and drinks.

My friend and I are big foodies, and with her being vegan it's always a delight to explore vegan speciality restaurants. I heard about Om Sabor from a work acquaintance and my friend recommended we go which ended up an ideal spot for us to grab dinner and catch up! Acting more of a partnership, the restaurant and bar are quite loud and it was hard to hear at times. Seating is all first come first serve with several tables, bar seating, and a back area--they truly utilize as much space as they can. The ambiance is casual with bursts of high energy, definitely a spot for friends or dates. We found service to be lacking at times as we weren't checked in, were confused about who to ask for our requests, and our food came out late. I'm dairy-free and don't eat red meat, so I chose to indulge in what I don't have. I enjoyed the Carne Asada Tacos which my friend had too! The tacos were well flavored, the texture mimicked meat, and it had a nice kick. She had the Truffle Mac n Cheese and we ordered Parmesan Fries. The fries were amazing, I haven't had parmesan in ages so it was nice to have a mimic. They offer a happy hour and a regular dinner menu. The restaurant collaborates with Phonobar and is off Grove with street and garage parking. I'm glad I could cross off this recommended spot and enjoy vegan cuisine with my friend! I wouldn't mind coming back for happy hour.

First time going to a vegan restaurant! Ive been to vegetarian restaurants but never vegan. The dishes tastes SO good you can almost tell it was vegan. This is more of a tapas restaurant so its better to come with a group and order multiple small dishes. Especially the truffle mac and cheese which me and my friends were questioning if they used dairy cheese. All of their cheese dishes are coconut based to give it that creamy texture. Most if not all of their meat substitutes are soy based! However, i thought it was really rude when one of the workers came up to me and had an attitude when I brought my boba inside since no outside food/drinks are allowed. I didnt know because there were no signs and I usually bring my boba into restaurants without issue....but her tone was unnecessarily brash.

But my sister had enough faith in him that she put her name down in the waitlist a couple years ago. A few days before Valentine's day in 2026, my sister got the email asking her to confirm her order quantities and to pick up on Valentine's day. Apparently, my sister completely forgot her order. lol! This guy have more integrity than kickstarter projects and to keep his promise and to fulfill the orders!!! It's my first time having sweet water noodles. I have never visited Cheng Du in China (it's on my bucket list) so I cannot tell how authentic this really is. As a noodle dish, I really love it. I would buy the sauce itself and toss with any other noodles. (Business opportunity there!) The instruction to cook the noodles is super clear and it's a very simple and easy dish to make. If you can boil water in a pot, you can make the noodles based on the instruction with this noodles kit. The rice crispy gave an excellent crunch. (Now I can see why Paik Jong Won added the uncooked instant noodles crumbs from the package to a bowl of instant noodles). The noodles texture is lovely, it has a chewy (or the Taiwanese/Chinese known as "QQ") bite to it. The portion is quite generous too - it's one of those satisfying portions :) I don't think I want to wait for 2 years for this again. But when he opens the store or start selling the sauce, I will be there for sure!!

"Smish Smash I was taking a bath, long about a Wednesday night, yeah!!!" Okay I'm no Bobby Darin,…read morebut I am quite the aspiring burger aficionado and the smash burgers being handcrafted at Smish Smash are some of the best and most affordable in the entire city of San Francisco! And when Food & Wine Magazine calls this burger one of the most exciting in the U.S., I for one was implored to take notice and visit! Located on the first floor of Saluhall on Market Street in downtown San Francisco next to the IKEA store, Smish Smash started as a pop-up six years ago by owners Am y Han and Victor Donado. Just last year they opened their first stand-alone location on the first floor of Saluhall, which to be quite honest has struggled to keep their other vendors open. Thankfully, Smish Smash has had the benefit of being on the first floor with a view of Market Street, not to mention a great word of mouth thanks to their exceptional smashed burgers that has not only many burger lovers coming in, but quite the number of delivery drivers coming in to pick up burger orders galore. What brought me here to Smish Smash was the fact that a friend and I had theatre tickets at the nearby Golden Gate Theatre and we decided that we needed something quick and delicious before we walked back to the theatre to sit for almost three hours of a show. They suggested that we try this amazing and fun burger concept that was garnering significant buzz and so meeting up at Saluhall was the way to go as they had complimentary WiFi access and plenty of clean and open seating. The menu at Smish Smash is of course filled with burger options with no fewer than seven on their regular menu and a rotating special menu items including items with chili on them including fries, hot dog, and chili in a bowl, not to mention a couple of extra burgers to boot. Each of their burgers on their regular menu has the option of ordering it as a single or double smash burger. Since it was my first time, I ordered a single version of their Cheeseboiga, which had yellow American cheese, pickles, caramelized onions, and mac sauce. My dining mate ordered a single version of their Wow Burger which was topped with white American cheese, grilled onions, pickles, and s2 sauce, which is a combination of mayonnaise and relish, with an order of a side of Curly Fries which were cooked in beef tallow, our total bill was 33 dollars before taxes and gratuity were added in. It wouldn't take too long for our order to be custom made by their team and we enjoyed every last bite while sitting at their communal dining inside the Saluhall. The most noticeable thing that I noticed about the smash burgers at Smish Smash was the fact how thin their smashed burgers were, almost paper like thinness, which made for a unique dining experience. But what was lacking in overall heft of the burger was more than made up in terms of overall juiciness and flavor of my overall burger, of which came out clear on the grease and flavor on my fingertips as I ate every last bite. So good was my experience at Smish Smash that a return visit mere a couple of months later was in order when I attended a show at the nearby Orpheum Theatre. With complimentary WiFi and water available to customers, this time I ordered their Smish Smash Special which was their Dac Biet smash burger which was their signature grass-fed smashed beef topped with white American cheese, sliced onions, jalapeños, cilantro, Thai basil, alfalfa sprouts, lime and pho aioli. This particular smash burger, which cost 16 dollars, was a little on the healthier side as the sprouts, onions, and cilantro overpowered everything, but the flavor profile did make it feel as if I was enjoying a bowl filled with pho noodles with all the fixings. I appreciate what Smish Smash is trying to do, as an up and coming entrepreneurial business from pop-up to permanent business in an area that could seriously use the support, I am all in with what Smish Smash is offering up on a daily basis, good affordable trendy smash burgers that makes burger lovers coming back for more and then some! Dinner was more than just a meal it was a 2 to 2.5 hour storytelling experience about their menu creations, how they met, and the grind behind keeping their dream alive. The menu changes monthly, so even if I told you what we had, you probably wouldn't get the same dishes unless you book now lol. It's a 3-course menu with optional add-ons, and definitely unlike any restaurant I've been to before. The menu features three courses, an appetizer, main, and a dessert - with the option for an additional add-on. Our meal featured a focus on fish, in particular mackerel and monkfish. Each of the dishes were deconstructions of familiar concepts such as Caesar salad and a California roll, but enhanced with new flavors. The mackerel was sublime, perfectly charred exterior with a still raw interior. The monkfish was tender, coated in a ginger, wasabi sauce next to crispy sweet rice and avocado. The dessert was by far the most unique, being a miso dashi, mushroom cherry coated coconut ice cream with a tupig-like mochi on the side. The savory, sweet, sour combination completely catches you off guard but becomes increasingly addictive the more you eat. So bold and absolutely memorable. Ox&Tiger takes familiar concepts, breaks them apart, then fuses them back together with a flair of Filipino and Japanese flavors. This results in dishes that are utterly unique and innovative. Came ~10 minutes before dinner window opening time on a Saturday evening and was luckily the last…read moreparty to be seated in the first round. Ambiance and service were 10/10. Servers were friendly and accommodating. Food came quickly and dishes had beautiful presentation. We shared the chili crisp pig head, clay pot rice with Chinese sausage and bacon, scallop vermicelli, and XO escargot with milk bread. I enjoyed the free bites of roasted peanuts and smashed cucumbers. Chili crisp pig head was good but got a little too oily immediately. The slices were really thin and there were a bunch of good textures from the chili crisp and the veggies but was a little heavy due to sitting in plate of oil. Clay pot rice didn't stand out to me that much, the tong ho on top helped cut the heaviness at first but there were only ~5 leaves so it ended up being a little too saucy and heavy. I also would've appreciated more toppings in the clay pot rice and rice also didn't get scorched despite leaving it there for most of the meal. Scallop vermicelli wasn't bad, but definitely felt overpriced for essentially 1 piece of scallop and 3-5 bites of vermicelli. Last, the XO escargot with milk bread was unique but also ultimately too oily. The escargot sat in a pool of oil/butter/fats which got a bit too much too. I will say the flavor was definitely there though and the texture of escargot was good. The milk bread was great, smelled fresh and sweet with a soft crunch. Overall I think it was a fun experience to dine here and no regrets, but none of the dishes stood out to me too much in particular to where I'd be running back.

Came here two days in a row! It was very very very good…read more The ambiance is super nice - I love all the decor in the restaurant, from the lights to the art! I also like the outdoor patio section, which is nicely decorated as well. The service was fantastic! The servers checked up on us periodically and even gave me a free drink for my birthday :) The food was also amazing! I tried the whole menu, and everything was delicious. My favorites were definitely the perilla oil noodles, the crudo, and the beef tartare. It was my first time trying raw beef (yukhoe), and I enjoyed it! The makgeolli (I tried the white lotus and the traditional) was also very tasty! Not too sweet and not much alcoholic taste :) Overall, I loved the ambiance and the food here - definitely would not only come back, but also would recommend to others!

They recommend 2-3 dishes per person and they're quite pricey. We ended up ordering the perilla leaf oil noodles, pork jowl, yellowtail crudo, and Korean fried chicken. The service was very fast which was nice. I liked the perilla leaf oil because it was sweet and very flavorful. The pork jowl was tender and came with ssam and sauces. I thought it was good but the portion was pretty small. The yellowtail crudo was nice and I liked the spicy sauce that went with it. Lastly, the Korean fried chicken was alright. It definitely wasn't life changing but it was a good way to end the meal. Overall, I thought it was a nice restaurant and meal but would only come back again for a special occasion.
