    Ceviche Tostadas (view from bar)

I really enjoyed this place - the food was just simply so good. I got the ceviche tostadas (everything is vegan at Om Sabor). Kind of a fancy place--service was okay. Would come back with friends, but going there alone did not feel as welcoming as it could have.

The service from start to finish was spectacular. The ambiance of this restaurant/bar was elegant and nice. But the food...the food was the star. We ordered a little of everything as we are crazy vegans. lol. This place is an all vegan restaurant which we love and appreciate. We brought our non vegan friends here as well and they loved everything. They have a happy hour menu as well from 3-5 with $8 prices. The cocktails were great. I got the plum thing and my husband got the coconut one, both off their happy hour. Highly recommend coming here and will visit again.

The food here is exceptional and it's all vegan! It's technically a vegan bar, but I don't drink and I still had a great time. There are tables in the back room that's quite dark, so it would be a nice date spot. But the front area has tables that are more well lit. The only thing I wasn't into was the music. But I'd still go back.

Vegan spot for those who follow that lifestyle! I am not a vegan but the food was pretty good, especially impressed with the mac and cheese. Drinks were alright, everything a little pricey. Neighborhood is okay, parking wasn't difficult and there was no wait. Service was quick, ambiance was dark. I've been here for their evening phonobar and that vibe seems a little bit more fitting.

Last night I went with a friend to Om Sabor before walking over to see the Nutcracker a couple blocks away. We dined on some delightful small bites from the eclectic (and fully vegan) menu from Om Sabor. We tried: 1. "choriqueso" empanadas: housemade soyrizo, potato, coconut mozzarella, chipotle pinto beans, cilantro-radish slaw. These empanadas were way more filling than I was expecting. Probably because the masa dough was a bit thick, but really tasty flavor and I loved the fresh slaw and refried beans. 2. Fig "cheese" tart: caramelized onions, red wine reduction figs, arugula, garlic confit tofu ricotta, balsamic glaze, on puff pastry. This was our favorite bite of the night! So well balanced - sweet and savory with that flaky pastry. 3. "Crab" arancini: arborio rice, lemon garlic jackfruit, guajillo, salsa macha aioli. Also a standout! Perfectly crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, with tasty sauces. I wouldn't necessarily say it tasted like crab but it tasted delicious! 4. "Clam" chowder: oyster + king trumpet mushrooms, cremini bacon, celery, potato, carrot, garlic confit, cashew bechamel, crostini. Sooo creamy and comforting, this was a really hearty bowl of chowda! Again, don't go into it expecting it to taste like clams but rather like a scrumptious creamy mushroom soup which is what I was craving. A must-try! 5. Drink: "grapefruit moon" cocktail with grapefruit, serrano rosemary syrup, lime, and tequila. Nicely tart with a hint of smoky spice, we both really enjoyed this drink. This was a fantastic meal and I'm surprised I don't see Om Sabor mentioned more often in lists of vegan places to eat in San Francisco because the food was impressively good and the atmosphere was really cool - dim but not so dark you can't see the menu, with plants and gold accents, very chic. We sat at the bar and the bartender who served us was very friendly and our food came out incredibly promptly. My friend (who is not vegan) enjoyed the meal thoroughly so I would recommend Om Sabor to vegans and omnivores alike!

    Flautas and Ceviche Tostadas

I've had Om Sabor on my bookmarks for the longest time so when we had tickets to a show at Davies, I knew that would be the chance to go! My friend and I shared two plates, a dessert, and got a drink each and it was the perfect early dinner before our show. We went with the jackfruit flautas which were exceptionally convincing as "chicken" flautas. The flavors were punchy, the flautas were done right - crispy on the outside but soft and savory on the inside. We also opted for the ceviche tostadas done with trumpet mushrooms. Again, the flavors were spot on. In this instance, it was much more obvious that we weren't eating meat, but without knowing that it was mushrooms, we also couldn't place it. We cleaned it up with the Tres Leches done with three non-dairy milks, nice! It was on the coconutty side but not overwhelmingly so. It was decadent and fully saturated, just how a tres leche ought to be. The funny part was that there was some misplaced micro greens on top, and I sure hope that was a mistake but also...Hayes valley, it wouldn't surprise me either. Overall, my friend and I really enjoyed it!

Obsessed with the pickle cocktail, the crab arancini was nice and crunchy, the tostada was a bit difficult to eat and was more on the sour side, the tacos were pretty filling! Really cool that everything was vegan Really nice dark and intimate vibes for a cocktail and a bite before catching a show. On the pricier side for sure tho

After a long night of exploring SF, I decided to come to this fully vegan bar/restaurant. It was so delicious! My partner and I shared the carne asada nachos and the Om Burger. The ambiance was so moody and fancy. The vibes were great! The food was genuinely phenomenal. My partner isn't vegan or vegetarian and he still to this day raves about this place. 100% would recommend.

I had the best vegan meal I've ever had at this cozy, intimate bar/restaurant. I had a hard time choosing from the great menu but went with the empanadas and clam chowder. Both were amazing and tasted award winning. Plus all of their drinks are great as mocktails- I had the desert rose and it was yummy. Danny the bartender was attentive and the service was fast- my food came out in 5 minutes!

Om Sabor was an incredible plant-based dining experience that left my heart feeling happy and taste buds extremely satisfied. They offer open seating in their bar area, back room, and even outside. Once seated, our waiter came over to give us all the menus including their weekday happy hour (17:00 - 19:00), mains, and drinks. We started with their Carne Asada Tacos and Ceviche Tostadas from the happy hour menu. Both were phenomenal. The ceviche was fresh on top of crispy corn tortilla and the mock carne asada was flavorful that you really couldn't tell it apart from the meat version. For our mains, we shared a few items for the table including the Carne Asada Nachos, Oyster Mushroom Calamari (HIT!), Crispy Mushroom Potato Gratin (heavenly), and their Teriyaki Chicken Skewers. Every single item we had was delicious, well executed, and surprisingly very filling which was good since the pricing is higher being in the city. I would go back for anything mushroom related especially that calamari - one of my favorite crispy mushroom dishes. We had a fantastic experience and I am eager to return to try more of their dishes and drinks.

But my sister had enough faith in him that she put her name down in the waitlist a couple years ago. A few days before Valentine's day in 2026, my sister got the email asking her to confirm her order quantities and to pick up on Valentine's day. Apparently, my sister completely forgot her order. lol! This guy have more integrity than kickstarter projects and to keep his promise and to fulfill the orders!!! It's my first time having sweet water noodles. I have never visited Cheng Du in China (it's on my bucket list) so I cannot tell how authentic this really is. As a noodle dish, I really love it. I would buy the sauce itself and toss with any other noodles. (Business opportunity there!) The instruction to cook the noodles is super clear and it's a very simple and easy dish to make. If you can boil water in a pot, you can make the noodles based on the instruction with this noodles kit. The rice crispy gave an excellent crunch. (Now I can see why Paik Jong Won added the uncooked instant noodles crumbs from the package to a bowl of instant noodles). The noodles texture is lovely, it has a chewy (or the Taiwanese/Chinese known as "QQ") bite to it. The portion is quite generous too - it's one of those satisfying portions :) I don't think I want to wait for 2 years for this again. But when he opens the store or start selling the sauce, I will be there for sure!!

Filipino-Japanese fusion has been a tried and true combination, including my boyfriend and I's relationship (ba dum tss). However, Ox and Tiger have MASTERED the fusion aspect. Ox and Tiger is an intimate dining experience, with 8 seats, and gorgeous plating, menu, and cute chopstick rests! Comes with 3 courses with an additional 4th add-on. They also have a drinking menu, and they noted that the menu changes every 2 months (every even month!) EJ is such a wonderful story teller, and Hitomi (who created the menu for the month of May) had a great twist on everyday classics in Japanese cuisine. As the dishes were prepared and presented, EJ would tell the backstory on the dish(es), a personal note about each, and Hitomi's take on it to sweeten the deal. As soon as the experience starts, EJ tells us that the doors will be locked to prevent any distractions from outside (aka if you're late, you're outta luck), but we were encouraged to go outside for air if necessary. (I tried taking these notes on the food while EJ was talking about each dish so bear with me). ESL lunch The backstory was that Hitomi loved caesar salad while going to school in America, so she created a "perfect bite" with a Japanese twist to it. The word "gomoku" literally translates to "5 ingredients," to which I was only able to remember 2 of 5 of the vegetables, which were snappeas and roasted beets, with quinoa and tinapa (smoked fish). The fish that was used wae a cured Spanish makerel. T.A.M.M.Y I wish I remembered the words for this, but this is actually Hitomi's English name when she moved to the states. The acronym aspect was for the class at the time to think of ways to learn to like their name (each letter was a positive attribute and I can't remember what EJ said). The backstory to this was that Hitomi, being born and raised in Japan, was actually the biggest fan of California roll - did not like traditional sushi (or raw fish for that matter). - T.A.M.M.Y. is Hitomi's take on that. This was monk fish, with the fish scraps dipped into dashi sauce and kyuri (Japanese cucumber). In other words, no part of the fish was wasted in the making of this dish (in true Japanese AND Filipino fashion). This also had pinipig (granola-like topping glazed in shoyu) [Shoyu = soy sauce] Omiotsuke Now this is where I was blown away. First of all, I did not know what the hell this word was in English, but I watched every part of this dish being prepared and was even more confused when it was presented as dessert. When EJ started explaining, it made all the sense in the world. There is a tofu skin roll, vanilla ice cream, a mushroom topping, cherry miso compote concoction (this is where I butchered the exact creation - this is where the flavor was distracting me from what it actually was). Did you notice the ingredients? What is one thing one will eat at any Japanese restaurant, almost as a courtesy/complimentary item? Omiotsuke is, as polite as one could possibly say, is miso soup. This is Hitomi's take on miso soup, the flavor was spot on. I never thought to pair dashi-like flavors with ice cream (there is already shoyu with vanilla ice cream, but this was a flavor sensation). EJ was so kind when my boyfriend and I admitted we came for an anniversary, and we even got to see his reaction when we said we were also Japanese/Filipino (I'm also an Ox, but no Tigers here). They took this lovely photo of us to commemorate the evening, which sits on our fridge to this day. Again, gochiso-salamat :) to EJ and staff! We hope to come back soon.

I also appreciate the free peanuts and cucumber salad that you get when you're seated. My boyfriend and I ordered a lot of food because we wanted to try so many things! The lamb skewer was super moist and had a nice flavor. The XO escargot with milkbread had a nice buttery, garlic taste. The milk bread was fluffy and when dipped in the sauce it tasted very rich. We also got the clay pot rice and it reminded me of when I had it in China. The rice was crispy at the bottom and well seasoned. My favorite dish of the night was the squab. Honestly, I think I have to readjust my expectations for the SF food scene. If there were no wait/reservation, I would think of this as a very solid restaurant (hence the 4 stars). The beef chow fun is on par with ones I'd get in NYC Chinatown, and was actually not very overpriced. Our server was very sweet but only recommended things that my friend did not love (seafood/spicy food). I was excited for the spicy cabbage, hoping it'd be comparable to the addictive spicy cabbage at Uluh (NYC). I was disappointed. The popcorn chicken was a bit dry; I would not get it again. The mapo spaghetti had heat, but not much flavor, and it was okay for me - worth getting because it sounded intriguing, but fell short of my expectations, especially since I've made mapo udon, mapo ramen, and mapo pie at home that were better. The escargots with milk bread was definitely my favorite; sourcing escargot alone is a plus and it was very well-executed. The milk bread was fantastic, pillowy and soft. Our server was very nice and offered to move us to the cute window seats after we were already seated at the counter, which I really appreciated. However, would I spend energy trying to get a reservation here or waiting in line? Absolutely not. It makes me sad to think that this is the pinnacle of Cantonese food in this city full of Cantonese people, but I guess it makes me extra appreciate food in NYC.

Crudo: This was probably one of my favorites, very refreshing and the sauce was a slightly tangy, spicy and sweet korean sauce that's also very unique. It's not the typical just gochujang flavor but had more depth and I loved it. Pork Jowl: Okay this was ACTUALLY my favorite one. The pork jowl has the perfect chew and bite to it and wrapped in perilla leaf and lettuce, they also had 2 sauces that were very flavorful. Even this one is pretty unique. Banana bread panna cotta: Lovely light dessert that was strong banana flavor with some rice crumbles on top! Overall this is a great place for a social dinner I'd come back again!
