It was so well balanced. It looked really sweet, but because of how balanced all the flavors were, it didn't actually taste overly sweet. I don't even like caramel and it was SO good in this. The outside was soft, and the toffee and pretzel inside gave it a nice crunch. I really liked the combination of the soft cake with the crunchy pretzel toffee. Hey, what's going on? I've been coming to Clayton's for years and loved the food however, my last two visits were a real disappointment. The first night I ordered a beef Chimi, my old standby. There was plenty of shredded beef, it was tender but had no flavor. It was like it was cooked without any seasonings at all. The second night I ordered the combo plate - two cheese enchiladas with rice and beans. Again, no flavor in the beans and the rice was awful. It had a taste but it was most unpleasant. Haven't been back since. Having read the most recent reviews it looks like I'm not alone. read more

Good luck going here. Every time I order a burrito from this place the workers are so stoned they just write down what kind of meat you want, everything else is just completely random. 3 times I've gone here and ordered a cali burrito (carne asada, fries, cheese, cream cheese) and 3 times I've gotten a carne asada burrito with carne asada, guac, lettuce, and tomato. The moment i arrived the vibe was immaculate i could see from the register all the action going down in the kitchen everyone there was so nice and enthusiastic. I was greeted with so much love and respect. The menu is big with lots of options. Also the many cool and never before seen beverages to choose from.
