Overall this was a solid spot to eat in Clearwater. First day I had Lobster ravioli and it was good. Had a lot of lobster pieces too so that was a plus. Had a good experience so went back the next day and got the chicken bacon club sandwich and that was just okay. Chicken was pretty dry and bacon had a slight burnt flavor to it. Inconsistent. Do NOT trust their hours. As a local, I rely on consistent kitchen hours. When your hours state kitchen open til midnight on a Friday, but you close the kitchen at 10, no bueno. Especially when i was just there on a Wednesday at 11 and ate from the full menu. You just lost a pretty loyal family/customer for good. Your food was decent enough but this is intolerable. Always love to visit this place on vacation. Food was perfect as usual, but the service was subpar and I think it was because I was a solo diner. When I arrived, I wasn't asked if I wanted anything from the bar, Wasn't told the daily specials, just asked "do you know what you want". It was a few minutes before sunset so told my server I was going to run down to see it (seemed annoyed). When I returned 10 minutes later, my food was as my seat......not sure why it wasn't kept back until I arrived. Temperate wise it was fine but just not happy my food was just "sitting out". Water was only filled once I was done with my blackened mixed grill. In comparison to the experience I had last year (same time of year / same order) it was not great. Please don't discriminate against solo diners because you don't think your tip is gonna be big enough. 4++ Food & Drinks - Starting with a Bloody Mary and loaded it up with everything. Really good and almost a meal in itself. We had heard the French toast was good so we went with the pecan French toast and the cinnamon bun French toast. The pecan was very good really well done with candied pecans and a nice cinnamon butter. The cinnamon bun French toast was amazing. Doesn't need syrup to make it great. It is a sweet, rich and melt in your mouth bite after bite. Service - Server was good and checked on us from time to time. Had a little bit of a wait for brunch but with the quality of food, I can understand. Ambiance - It has a nice balance of inside and outside seating. Very clean and a little more upscale than some other restaurants along the beach. I have been coming here for about 5 years now religiously for Sunday brunch and sometimes mid-week days. The food and service is top notch. Samantha behind the bar is a beast! I have gotten to know so many servers and managers over the years and everyone is so nice and accommodating. The menu has changed over the years and I do have to say they took away a few of my favorite items but the great thing is you can ask for any item to be altered to your liking and they will gladly do it. Of course, some items do have an upcharge. I have most of the items on the breakfast menu and all are so good. The food quality is on point and the presentation is also there to make your delicious food beautiful. Clearsky also does not skimp on the amount of food they serve. I often have to take some of my breakfast home. The lunch and dinner is also great. Get the Calamari Fries!! They are just like regular Calamari but instead of rings they are like fries. They are thicker then most and come out perfectly fried where they are juicy and tender. I could go on and on about different menu items here but I honestly have never had a bad experience. On nights and weekends they will also do specials that always sound so good and the times I have gotten them, they did not disappoint. They give out amazing food at a great price point and can hang with the high-end steak places in Tampa that would charge double for the same thing. It was a little cool out and the inside dining area was packed. They had a covered patio and had the heat lamps running full on with a musician performing. The result was a cozy, jazzy atmosphere. My girlfriend and I started with the specialty cocktails. A local version of an old fashion using Buffalo Trace which was perfect. My family and i love Clear Sky in Clearwater! The food is always delicious and all the waiters we have had have been fantastic including your "newest" waiter Tyler who we had as our server recently. He comes to your table with a smile and you can tell how much he loves his job! Our food was great and he even gave me a fresh cup of coffee instead of a top off which I usually have to ask for in most restaurants but he offered and i said yes! What a guy! The management staff is fantastic also and makes sure everyone dining is happy with their meal. My husband took me here for dinner while we were in town for the day! Clear Sky has a few different locations in the Clearwater area, but this location in particular is off of Mandalay near the pier and beach. A good thing I noticed right away is there were several items on the menu that sounded really great, so it made it difficult for me to decide what to try! Thankfully our server was very patient with me lol. After taking some time to go over the menu I opted for an espresso martini to drink (dark is the best way to enjoy), the wagyu/kobe sliders which had Brie cheese & jalapeño onion jam on it! Instead of sticking with the usual fries as a side I subbed it out for their lobster Mac! The sliders were the perfect size and just what I needed to fill up! The Brie and onion jam paired together perfectly as well! Surprisingly the lobster Mac had a crispy layer on top and was very tasty! My husband ordered the pan seared grouper with lemon risotto which was to die for. This was such a great experience for a restaurant that was chosen by guessing! I recently visited the recently renovated Clear Sky Cafe on Clearwater Beach. They faced a real challenge to rebuild after the hurricane season last year and made the most of that "opportunity." The new and improved dining rooms, both inside and out, are spacious and bright, and the overall feel is both welcoming and luxurious. We went with our friends for dinner, and had an amazing experience with a very attentive and knowledgeable server who helped us pick from the updated menu - top notch choices, I might add. Was in Clearwater for the weekend, and our Airbnb host recommended for us to come here for dinner and I am so grateful that he did because this place is a gem. It was about a 10 minute walk for us so we decided to take a stroll down the strip and stop by a bar to grab a drink before our dinner reservation. We came around 7:15 PM to see the sunset for dinner and we probably could've been able to get in without a reservation but just wanted to be safe. The weather was perfect so we opted to sit outside. The only issue were the seagulls that kept harassing the outside tables. Our server Dave was so nice he offered to change tables but we opted out since we had a great view of the sunset! We probably ordered with our eyes instead of our stomaches because we were stuffed, died, and went to foodie heaven. My favorite dish we ordered was the truffle scallop gnocchi and the dynamite shrimp. So much flavor and the gnocchi was soft & chewy they were so good! I could order a bunch of those in place of an entree. Another dish that was memorable was the miso sea bass. It was extremely flaky and buttery. We had an amazing time at this restaurant. Clear sky remains in our rotation of places to eat. We try to check out a new place weekly but we still keep coming back to Clear sky because of their consistent quality food, excellent service and frankly amazing happy hour prices. When feeling tight on the budget a 1/2 price flatbread, a few 9oz pours if house wine and walk out after tip with less than $20 bill is unheard of these days. On recommendations came here for dinner on Mother's day. Although busy the staff moved quickly to find us the perfect table that was not too close to the music but still outside under the patio cover. The server was very friendly and had good drink recommendations- the prickly pear margarita was a unique specialty cocktail and good. The bruschetta was light and refreshing and made for a great appetizer. The grilled seafood came out perfect, with tasty vegetables and rice on the side. They didn't skimp on the seafood and everything was well portioned. The music was a comfortable noise level and there was a mix of patrons there, usually a good sign, and had relaxed beach vibes. It's been a while since I've been able to give a five star review.. so it was nice to find a place with consistency all around. Super friendly service, live music to make for an awesome ambiance and delicious food! We had the Sea-bass, a mushroom soup and scallops and shrimp, the mascarpone with berries and key lime pie were for dessert, everything was delicious!!!
