I've never tried fried green tomatoes before and thought I'd stop by before going to Regal Hacienda Crossings Theater to watch a movie. To the right is the bar area, which was pretty active for a Monday night. I chose to sit in the quiet dining area. Morgan was my server that night, and there were only 3 other couples at the far end of the room...as far from the bar noise as possible. I ordered the 1/2 order sampler platter, which came with 4 green tomato slices, 6 fried chicken wings (5 drumettes and one flat), and some fried okra, and 6 beer-battered shrimp . It's served with remoulade, bbq, and seafood cocktail sauces. It costs $18 for the half-platter size even though online it says it costs $13, take-out or not. The full-size sampler costs $30. The meal comes with cornbread with butter which was cut into 4 pieces Next time I'll try a po'boy next. I wish they served muffaletta sandwiches. read more

Their BBQ bacon wrapped shrimp was delicious. I need to skip the meal and come to the real reason we went here.. Beignets. They are not exactly like you get in NOLA, but they really do the trick! Light and fluffy goodness. We got the chocolate beignets and they were so good. It comes with coffee ice cream and it hit the spot. Ok. Back to the meal. I order fish and chips which I felt was a little pricey for four pieces of fish that were smaller than my fingers. I have big hand but they were tiny. Had lunch yesterday. Ordered Po'Boy oyster sandwich that consisted of three-to-four small oysters deep-fried in corn meal. The corn meal was dark in color indicating overcooked and the oysters had reduced by 50% in size (for the same reason). Not impressed. One thin slice of tomato for the whole sandwich and it was less than 6 inches long. Had to ask for more remoulaude sauce as there was hardly any on the bun. A server helping our waiter delivered an order of grits. She slung (for lack of a better word) the order onto the table and continued walking. The order bumped into my glass of water. She did not say one word upon delivery - she did not ask who ordered the dish so that she could present it to that person. THAT was a big turn-off for me. I also ordered hush puppies - about five in the side order. They were fine. I liked the seasonings and they tasted just like those made in the south. They were about half the size of a donut hole. Would I eat there again? Probably not, considering there are so many dining options in that area. read more

After my wife and I helped one of our friends move into her new apartment in San Ramon, she was nice enough to treat us to lunch at Clementine's. My wife and I both love Cajun food, so we were excited to give this place a try. For my meal, I ordered the fried shrimp Po-boy with a bowl of gumbo on the side. My wife had the spicy fried chicken and taters, and our friend had the jambalaya. All of our choices were made after much deliberation because everything on the menu looked so enticing. The gumbo was piquant and had plenty of tasty sausage, chicken, and shrimp. I only wish I had ordered a larger portion of it. The Po'boy was really good. The shrimp were juicy and had a crisp exterior. The bread was exactly like the bread used for Po'boys in New Orleans. I do wish they put a little more of the Creole sauce, but overall it was a very satisfying sandwich. I had small bites of the jambalaya and fried chicken, and those were tasty too. Even though I was quite full after my main course, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to get some dessert. I was going back and forth between the peach cobbler, the beignets, and the bread pudding, but I ultimately decided on the cobbler served a la mode. The cobbler did not disappoint. I'm surprised I was able to get a picture before devouring it. We were really impressed with the food and the service at Clementine's. We will hopefully be back very soon. read more

First of all I haven't been to clementines very often in the past year. Partially because of the pandemic and partially because I moved out of San Ramon. I now live in Castro Valley. I ordered takeout it was awesome on-time and delicious like always! I love clementines, used to go there all the time. I am glad they are upholding their quality on food and great service! I read some reviews on here that are absolutely ridiculous from people that are just miserable in their own life and they had to vent their frustrations on different restaurants that they have no business even attending. The only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is that the booths were a bit dingy and worn out, other than that everything else was fine. Found Clementine's on Yelp and decided to give it a try. The reviews for the prime rib were mixed, but mine was excellent. The perfect cut of meat, not too fatty, and cooked to perfection. I enjoyed it with a wonderful spinach salad and my meal was accompanied by the best creamed spinach that I have ever had the pleasure of enjoying! My boyfriend tried the shrimp and grits which he wasn't so crazy about. We should've felt comfortable to eat and talk after an early morning work shift of strenuous work. It was finally our Friday. We both left opting not to come there anymore. We hated not to tip in cash. So attentive and personable but they were also able to answer any questions we had.
