When we arrived on a Saturday night, they didn't have our reservation. Not the greatest start to dinner but the view was still decent from the 2nd row. Service was slow. I ordered Sockeye salmon and they served me Atlantic salmon. There's a big difference in color, texture and taste. Of course, I sent it back and got the trout instead. We ordered white wine and got a very small pour. Since we were celebrating our anniversary we ordered our choice of the "free" desserts so we picked the crème brûlée but then they tried to charge us for it. I've been here a couple times. Each time the staff was impeccable. They were respectful and inquisitive. It seemed as though their biggest motivation was to give me a grand experience. I was pleased to try the coconut shrimp. It is phenomenal. I enjoyed several salads of which I do not remember the names. The most memorable part of the experience was the view. Always have felt that the way to rank an establishment is to consider what it could be, and sometimes that means giving fewer stars for a local favorite, as it would stand in comparison to other places. Cliffside is generically attractive, as it has to do little more than capitalize on a phenomenal view. The furnishings and decor is mass-market and generic. Why not showcase local artists and craftspersons? Wine is served in low quality bar glassware. Beverages like iced tea come in Mason jars, yet the dining style aims for upscale as far as plating as prices go. Schizophrenic decor aside, there are other issues. The servers are amenable, but seem inexperienced and unpolished. Furthermore, during my visit still at the height of Covid19 concerns, most wore their masks incorrectly, only over mouth and not nose, and often slipped under the chins. It was discouraging and unsettling. The food is perfectly fine, though over-sauced. Why a delightful fresh trout needed to be both butter-braised AND have, inexplicably (out of season) cranberry compote on top, is beyond me. It laid on a bed of brocollini (tasty texture but, again, over sauced) and grains that were nearly indeterminate due to the amount of creamy sauce holding them together. Dessert was an unexceptional molten lava mini-cake. Tasted average, and presented unimaginatively with what tasted like store bought ice cream and flavorless berries. If it weren't for the view and the lack of quality dining, in general, in St George, we wouldn't have come here at all. As it was, it was unexceptional but okay. Many times when you stay at a hotel, there's nothing that's going to guarantee that it's restaurant has good food. We tried it and proved it wrong. It's a beautiful place in a terrace, overseeing all the city and wonderful mountains in the horizon it not only that, the food was excellent !! We had the pork chop in a delicious onion sauce with purple and yellow potatoes and we also shared the magnificent ravioli with squash and Creme brûlée ... everything accompanied by a bottle of sparkling rose from Washington state Domaine Saint Michelle... Our server sold us on the special for dinner and we are glad we listened! The salmon was delicious although due to my food allergy, I was not able to have the sauce/glaze. They accommodated and it was still spectacular! The mashed potatoes were also a hit and we found ourselves wanting more. Our dinner ended with the lovely waiter bringing out a free dessert in honor of my friend's birthday celebration. As expected, the views were gorgeous! This was supposed to be a higher end restaurant in St. George and I cannot agree. The quality of the meat was terrible. The chicken and Fish was tough and dry. The flavor was decent but that doesn't do much when you can't chew it. The ambiance was okay but the restaurant could use some updating and the service was acceptable. Also the food was cold when it came out and the meal I got with chicken was very over cooked and lacked flavor. We were celebrating a wedding anniversary and he went above and beyond to make our night memorable. We shared brussel sprouts and they were AMAZING. Perfectly cooked. I would return here just for the sprouts. Highly recommended. My husband got the four cheese and pear pasta and I had the steak burger with fries. Both were excellent, but the fries were a touch on the too salty side. I also ordered a lime aid with strawberry. It was a good mix of sweet and sour and was absolutely massive. We were gifted a small cake for our celebration which was a nice touch. We would return here for special occasions. The prices are a bit more than what we typically would pay but the food is delicious and the serving size is more than what I anticipated. read more

Had a reservation for 8:45 pm after our engagement. Had a great waitress, appetizer and wine came out super fast. Food took over an hour after our appetizer. Had a different waitress come out with our food, we asked for it to go since it was so late and close to closing, she told us to look around the restaurant at how busy it was (there was 5 tables occupied). We asked again for it to go again (upset) and she left and sent the manager over to ask us to leave without asking us about the situation or context. The manager caused a scene, everyone in the restaurant was watching, and said they wouldn't serve us. We got the check, tipped, and left. Didn't end up eating the food. The view is amazing, services are good, we really want to love this place. My salmon is good. But my husband's rockfish was horrible. Taste so fishy and very salty. Taste like they try to cover the fishy rotten taste up. My husband doesn't want to make a big deal. So he try to eat it. Half way into the fish, he almost puked. So he stopped. We told the waitress, she was nice enough try to offer feee desert, but there is no way we can continue to eat after the fish. Plus, we are not looking for free stuff. We just want them to check their quality. She did offered us $20 off off the total bill. But again, we are not looking to scam anyone here. In town for a conference at Dixie Tech. Since the Cliffside was close we decided to try it. We were seated quickly and our server was right there taking drink orders. She told us the specials and then we ordered. While waiting they brought out fresh sourdough bread and herb butter. It was delicious. Our food came out quickly and it was all great. Save room for dessert the carrot cake and molten lava cake are great. Also the view from the restaurant is awesome. I will definitely be back when the opportunity presents itself read more

Wow! What an experience! Trinity is an excellent waitress and provided such excellent service throughout the meal. The view is one of those one in million. All tables have a view and cannot go wrong. Honestly, the best coconut shrimp I've ever had in my entire life & I've had plenty of variations to say the least. Not too sweet and just the perfect amount of coconut. This was an interesting place. The atmosphere was incredible and the view of the city was incredible. That part alone would have been 5 stars. The building was freezing. We were cold the whole time and had the air blowing right on us, it actually impacted our enjoyment of the atmosphere. The food was good, amd had really good presentation, but wasn't too out of the world for what it cost. I had the steak and it was made using sous vide and it made it tender, which was nice, but wasn't worth the cost of $40. The hand cut fries appetizer were good, my wife liked them, I felt like they were soggy. We ordered the dessert lava cake, which took about 15 minutes to cook. It was really good, but we were so cold waiting for it, that it was a rush to eat and get out. read more
