We're visiting from another state and our local friends brought us here...the ambiance is fantastic and the view is stunning. They also have outside seating available. We had the ribeye special, topped with grilled shrimp over whipped potatoes and asparagus. So yummy and cooked perfectly! Others had salmon and they said it was also great. The sourdough bread starter with herb butter is so delicious! They have a limited beer selection and a nice wine list. Our server, Alyssa, was fantastic! She made great suggestions for things to enhance our choices. She also had very snappy comebacks and played along with all of our joking...we love that! Location. Fantastic location on top of a bluff with views of the entire city. The restaurant is newer and clean and beautiful! Lively modern decor. Comfortable chairs. We had about a 10 min wait on Saturday for lunch About noon. You can call for reservations but we hadn't. It was our first time visiting. We had 3 adults and 2 small kids. Prices are reasonable and food quality is very good. They have a kids menu. I'll post a photo of it. I had the soup and salad. Clam chowder is very good and a Caesar salad. I did not like the cradle dressing. It needs a complete overhaul. The salad lettuce was very fresh and comes with a load of fresh baked break and herb butter. Dan had the steak burger with bacon and Parmesan fries. Amber had a very rich and good sandwich and she like the Parmesan fries a lot. The boys did too. Caden had the kids pasta with Alfredo sauce and he liked it. It's a large helping so they had leftovers for dinner. Connor had the pasta with red sauce. He also liked it. First time here! Wow the views were amazing. We had a group of 10 for dinner. The food was worth it. I had the rosemary chicken , my friends had 4 cheese pasta with salmon and one with chicken . So of the others had the ribeye. Everything was wonderful. We had a young waiter Donte who was amazing he was knowledgeable, personable and very kind. We all loved him. He went out of his way to make our night memorable. We will definitely be back anytime we are in St. George. read more

The swordfish I would rate 4.5 out of 5; it was a good size portion but a little dry. The cilantro lemon rice was a 5 out of 5. The Seared Idaho Red Trout 5 out of 5. Four Cheese & Pear Pasta 5 out of 5. All the desert choices were 5 out of 5. The service from the receptionist to our waitress, Kelsey, was OUTSTANDING! Kelsey was phenomenal! She answered all our questions, made suggestions and even though she was working several tables we never felt neglected. She was a 10 out of 5. The only drawback was the ambiance. There needs to be some type of evening dress code. Nothing formal but gym shorts with flip flops, ball caps and sweat pants detracted from the overall ambiance and fantastic views. Usually restaurant with a nice view means the food is subpar, but not at all here. Everything we ordered was delicious, the highlights were the calamari and pear/cheese pasta, and save room for their desserts--everything is made in house. But what really set this dining experience from others is the extraordinary service provided by our server, Tina! You can tell she loves her job and takes pride in providing the best hospitality and service. She overhead that we were on the run, we had to head back home to Cali and so she had the food all come out the same time. When I exclaimed how large their lemonade was, she told me I can take the rest in a to-go cup for the ride home. So attentive and sweet. read more

I have to preface this review by saying I'm from Las Vegas so I'm spoiled. My wife and I were seated at an outdoor table, which had incredible views. That and a glass of wine were pretty much the highlight. I think the restaurant depends on that to bring in clientele. We were given a table that had not been cleaned and there was no tableware. It was roughly 10 minutes before we were greeted. When the waiter did arrive, he was very nice and did his best to compensate for other shortcomings. My steak had little to no seasoning. My wife did enjoy her salmon entree. So on balance, the location and views are great, the food mostly mediocre. Pricing is middle of the road. Certainly better than Vegas!! read more

The view is most spectacular. I was seated immediately. I had made a reservation. The specials were described - unfortunately they indicated they were out of the short ribs. I ordered the steak instead. The interesting thing is that the table next to mine was also told the specials, after I ordered but it included short ribs. The inconsistency was confusing. Her knowledge of the day's specials were delivered with accuracy and a smile. Their take on the Philly Cheese steak (with the chef's spin) was interesting. As one who has partaken an "authentic Philly Cheesesteak" from Pat and competitor Gino's....if it ain't broken don't fix it. Everyone plays around with French fries so I didn't mind the parmesian cheese french fries...tastey, thin, sprinling of salt, and a good snap. Companion's BLT was selected in her mind before we arrived. I daresay for a BLT it didn't disappoint. However, she's targeted the pear pasta for her next visit. The spirited lemonade sported a mason jar, rimmed with a garnish of fruit. Lovely to look at and massive to drink (no worry a "to go" cup was provided). Table loaf of fresh baked bread (served warm) and accompanied by an herb butter stimulated appetites as anticipated. Dessert was a lovely piece of rich, carrot cake topped with roasted pecans (and a "to go" box). A gorgeous day, a satisfying meal, impeccable service, and great company. The view is fantastic. We arrived as the giant super moon was coming up and it was absolutely stunning. We entered and were seated really quickly all the way back into the small area where there was a large party. Again, view was fantastic, but we could not hear each other even talking loudly. Server was so amazing and moved us. Main dining area wasn't nearly as loud. We ordered and again, the food just isn't that amazing. The shrimp appetizer is frozen coconut shrimp with orange marmalade. It was identical to the coconut shrimp we get from Costco, but not cooked long enough. The sourdough bread is super fresh and delicious. The Italian soda is also amazing perfect amount of sweet and carbonation. My boyfriend really liked the beer, the smell, and the taste. The Parmesan fries with the sauce are also really good, could be a little crispier but overall I love a soggy fry sometimes. The pear pasta was delicious! I do think serving sizes compared to pricing is crazy! Pear pasta came with no protein and was 25$, to add 5 slices of chicken was 9$???? Good thing it was delicious. My boyfriend got Cajun pasta which I think could have had more sauce and seasoning. We waited around 40 mins for our food... which I did expect it a little late but not that crazy. I also overheard the server next to my table say they ran out of cheese sauce for pasta before we had our food, so I'm thinking that's why my boyfriend's food was a little dry. I would definitely return but maybe at an earlier time so we don't run into them running out of things and quicker service. read more

Our first visit to Cliffside was absolutely wonderful. We had a little trouble finding it at first as our GPS was confused. Beautiful views. Dante, our waiter, was engaging and helpful. We enjoyed the brussels sprouts particularly! Wonderfully roasted to a delicious crunch and generously topped with bacon and Parmesan and a balsamic glaze, they were plenty for two of us and we even took a few home. Definitely will get that again. Others have recommended the crostini as an appetizer... It was good , but we would definitely try something different and a little more interesting next time. I enjoyed the four cheese pasta with pear and spinach, rich and satisfying. I added a skewer of five shrimp for just nine dollars. My husband got the special which was surf and turf: tenderloin with shrimp on mashed potatoes. We arrived at 5:30 and the red cliffs were a glow and even stepped out outside after dining to take a picture, which is welcomed. Then on we went to enjoy a show at to a con. My friends brought me for my birthday. It was a little pricey but the food was really good. I got an Italian soda and a veggie burger with fries. They also brought me out a little birthday treat. They were able to accommodate our large party and the view is nice but they wouldn't seat us closer sadly plus there is lots of parking. They forgot some of the items for a few folks in the party but overall service was polite and fast. Huge portions!! Run like a restaurant should. Beyond fabulous. I am traveling solo and decided to treat myself to a good steak. Great is an understatement! I got the surf and turf special and literally melted in my mouth. But beyond the food being perfection, the atmosphere and staff are top notch! Top notch! Everyone is pleasant with a smile and being alone I watch everyone and everything for my 'entertainment'. The staff had each other to lean on. The girls bussing tables and resetting were working double time. Very busy Friday night. As a guest of the hotel I assumed I would have no problem getting a table for one. Don't assume this is a sleepy joint. Popping off! Make a reservation! But even without a reservation I only waited about 45 minutes...and could go back to my room which helped because NO BAR TO WAIT IN. But that is part of the charm. The views over the city lights were amazing, I have stayed at this hotel numerous times as I drive to Los Angeles frequently from Montana and Colorado but never took the time to enjoy this amazing restaurant. Highly recommend. Even if driving through. ((Hint: you can order to go and sit by pool over the cliff )) So impressed with the kindness and real effort put into my dining experience. Prices are not cheap but not backed up by excellence. Just a couple kudos...nayar my server was the best and attentive but let me enjoy myself! After searching on Yelp and other websites, we decided to have a nice special dinner here at the Cliffside Restaurant. The restaurant like the name indicates is on the top of a cliff in St. George giving you an amazing view of the city. Reservations were made weeks in advance. We waited a few minutes for a nice table by the window. Service was good by our server. She was attentive to our needs and was good at suggesting foods that she thought we might like. We ended up ordering a butternut squash soup, a clam chowder, a chili glazed salmon and a rib eye steak. Everything we ordered was fantastic. The butternut squash soup was a little sweet yet a little savory. My wife liked the clam chowder. The chili glazed salmon was moist and had a great flavor to it. I have been ìn St George now for three days and I haven't found a better restaurant than this one. The service from the minute you walk in at the host station, to the servers and bus staff, the courtesy and attentive training are obvious. The view from this restaurant day or night is amazing. Overlooking the city of St George through large windows, almost all tables have a view. The lighting and cozy feel makes for a relaxing experience. I started with the butternut squash soup. It was creamy and earthy and topped with roasted almonds and micro greens. It was excellent. The first night I had the Salmon because I had heard so many good things about it. It was delicious. The salmon came chili glazed with a mango salsa, and served with a coconut rice pilaf and seasoned vegetables. The flavors all blend well with this plate and I highly recommend. The second night I opted for the Ribeye. All of the steaks here are pre cooked by way of "sous vide", where the streaks are vacuum sealed and placed in 110 degree water for an hour. Then the steak is grilled to your liking and brought to the table. The result was the most juicy and flavorful steak I have ever had. Alcohol choices are Beer and wine only. The wine options has by the glass and bottle selections with a decent choice of wines from the west coast of the US and Italy. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area and looking for some fine dinning. I will definitely be back. Cheers! read more

Started with their refreshing house #Lemon-LimeAde with delicious #CoconutCrustedShrimp. Most of the menu is "normal" though so don't worry if you are picky, there's something for you. It's amazing. I called to see if they had room service and they said yes they did. I called at 2:59 and the person did not mention that the kitchen closed at three. I called back at 3:01 to place a simple order of a bowl of clam chowder and a Caesar salad and the manager would not do it because they had a really busy lunch. I even offered to walk down and pick it up. Pretty disappointing had a long day at the hospital. How long does it really take to pour a cup of soup and a salad? Disappointing when people don't go the extra mile. read more

Review #004 - 2024 I rarely ever walk out of a restaurant wanting to write a review right away because it usually means I wasn't too happy with the establishment, in general. When we walked in, we were greeted warmly right away by our hostesses. We were seated in less than five minutes. I was contemplating whether to sit inside, where the A/C was nice and cool or outside, where it was 90°. We eventually decided to sit outside under the shade so it wasn't too hot. The view is well worth the minor discomfort!! I ordered the calamari appetizer for us to share, but my daughter was too busy enjoying her lemon lime-ade so she didn't even bother to help me at all. I don't blame her because the lemon lime-ade was perfect for the warm weather. But it was huge so I told her not to finish it! She had the kid's grilled cheese meal with parmesan fries and it too was huge! She barely made a dent in her meal so we had to pack it up. Her meal also came with a kid's vanilla ice cream sundae, so I am sure she saved room just for dessert. My salmon with mango salsa was probably the only item that I was disappointed with. The salmon was super salty. When I overheard the two girls next to us complaining about their salmon salad being salty, I thought she was just making a big deal, because she said it was only certain bites that were salty. When our waitress, Amanda, came to check us, I was pretty hesitant to tell her that my salmon was super salty because she is such a sweetheart! She was super sweet and accommodating! She went into the kitchen to get them to make me a new piece of salmon because I was actually really enjoying the coconut rice and green beans that came with the dish. Unfortunately, the second piece of salmon showed up, unsalted, but I noticed it had a weird taste like it was already going bad. I cook salmon very often and I can tell right from the first bite that salmon leaves this weird sensation on your tongue when it's no longer fit for consumption so I mentioned it to Amanda and she was super sweet to remove it from our tab and even offered me a complimentary dessert. Unfortunately, because I can't have too much sugar, I had to decline her kind gesture. Even though, everything didn't work out as I had hoped, but Amanda and the manager went above and beyond to resolve my concerns. This speaks volume that the restaurant takes their customers concerns into great consideration and it definitely warrants a 5-star review. I've been here so many times, so I feel my review is a bit overdue. This is one of my favorite places in town. When I have visitors I like to take them here for the view. The service is usually good, and they do have beer and wine for those who prefer that type of drink. I usually get a steak for my meal but I'ved tried the pear pasta a few times, a chicken dish, and tonight I tried the trout for the first time. Tonight I think we had our best entrees here. My husband had a special that came with brussel sprouts (which I hate). He forced me to try them and it was pretty tasty. The goat cheese (which i love), honey sauce and the way they were crispy fried had a lot to do with that I think. My trout was huge. It came with a pesto couscous and lemon butter that really complemented the dish. I didnt care for the cranberry on top because it reminded me too much of cranberry sauce from Thanksgiving but I still could eat a bit of it. The only negative tonight was one of our desserts had a bit of egg shell in the crust on my 3rd bite. I usually dont speak up when things like this happen but I did inform our waiter who asked if we would like another one. I didnt feel like another after that. The manager actually called me after I left to ask if she could take that dessert off the bill. I was pleasantly surprised. I do wish they offered a full bar but not a deal breaker. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Utah. This place could get away with subpar food because the views are enough - that is not the case. The food is delicious. The burger was great. The complimentary bread is fantastic. And the pear purse pasta is one of my favorite dishes I can think of, I get it every time.
