TLDR: IF you're in the area AND you love Chinese Rice Noodles (Mei shein), then this might be a 5 star place. However, we are from the South Bay. And it took nearly an hour to get here. We tried to make a day-trip of it, with a quick shop at the nearby outlets. But still... our primary destination was to try this place. It's not worth the hour trip. IF you live up near Pleasanton, then I would say it's worth going. My wife is the main expert here, as Rice Noodles is her thing. They give you a HUGE clay bowl of the noodles. Maybe mine was the large size? I dunno. The menu is mostly in chinese, and online, so I just had my wife order for me. All I know was I got a BUCKET of noodles, with a variety of proteins and veggies and stuff. I'm not much of a soup guy, so I'll say the broth was good. My wife's broth on the other hand was a bit spicy. Not TOO spicy that I can't handle it (and my tolerance is low low low), but a bit too spicy for my wife, who had a cold sore. So we pretty much swapped dishes. She says the noodles are chewy and springy. And she clearly liked my broth a lot. The place is on the corner, so it is bigger than most. Unfortunately the center doesn't seem to be doing so well... I saw a LOT of empty store fronts. But the wait staff seemed friendly, and it's very WINDOWY, so the place is very bright, during the day. First off, $20 for a half bowl of noodle soup?! We got the yunnan traditional crossing noodles and the bowl was massive and it was literally half filled. The soup was good and savory but for the amount you're paying it wasn't anything to write home about at all. You're better off going to top pot across the street to get your fill. Water, napkins etc was self-served at a counter. We tried two different bowls of noodles and the Raksha Ghost Chicken appetizer. Raksha Ghost Chicken - I was expecting it to be pretty hot but the level of spiciness was acceptable. There was a good amount of chicken as well as shreds of onions, cilantro etc. The dish was pretty tasty. Yunan Traditional Cross Bridge Rice Noodles - This was definitely the highlight of the meal. I'd definitely come back for this dish. The chicken broth was pretty intense, it was kind of cloudy as opposed to a clear broth. There was a piping hot bowl of broth, ingredients served on a big plate/platter and the noodles in a bowl. The platter had numbers indicating the order of which the ingredients should be put in. The noodles was soothing and yummy. Small Pot Pork Rice Noodles - The broth was slightly spicy and sour. When I saw this new place opened near my house, I HAD to come try it! We ordered the Yunnan Traditional "Crossing-Bridge" Rice Noodles ($19.99), one that had the ingredients cooked in the kitchen in the soup, and the other one came with a big plate of various meat and veggie ingredients to be added into the hot soup. CAUTION: the bowl is VERY HOT! The whole set up was very cute and it was fun to add all the ingredients in, and they did all get cooked thoroughly in the hot soup. This dish was DELICIOUS! The noodles were very chewy and they gave the perfect amount, and the broth was thick and very chicken-y, but I do wish they gave more veggies and meat. Overall, the interior feels very nice and bright and all the flooring, lights, and furniture looked pretty new (might've been set up from the last business that occupied the space). However, I did wish their waiters were a bit more attentive, because when we needed something, it was REALLY hard to get help. I also had to ask for the same thing multiple times. But I would definitely visit again! All taste as good as before except, except for the soul of its brand dish: 过桥米线, the rice noodle. We ordered three. The noodle bowls are pretty stale and no QQ feeling anymore. And they are kind of lukewarm not hot and just leftover noodles with re-heated in hot soup. If not super hot, the grade will go down very fast. Feeling sad and a bit disappointed. Braised pork rice noodle- This is quite spicy for me since I cannot tolerate spice well. The spiciness actually overpowers the noodles, and I can't taste much of the pork or the broth's original flavor. Love the texture of the noodles, it's not soggy, just perfect. Interior is quite small, with 5-10 tables. Definitely will need to wait at rush hours. Once seated, service is fast. However, the servers mostly bring food to your table and are too busy to help with your other needs. The price of the noodles runs between $15-20, which is on the pricier side for noodles. CloudDish is a Chinese restaurant that specializes in noodle soups. Located in Stoneridge Mall, it's surrounded by other Asian businesses. We saw this place when we were in the area for lunch and saw that it was new. Deciding to be adventurous, and wanting noodle soup in the first place, we decided to give it a shot! FOOD For our visit, we got the Yunnan Traditional "Crossing-Bridge" Rice Noodles and the Braised Pork Noodles. The noodles are the same and I believe the base broth is also the same. Noodles are very fresh and the base broth has a lot of flavor in it. I couldn't help myself for just drinking the broth. If you want to add some spice to your noodles, they have chili oil on the side as well. The "Crossing-Bridge" Noodles has an option to have all of the toppings on the side or added in. We made a mistake and had them put them in, so we missed out on the pictures! After adding everything in, the broth is a little spicy, but unless you are super sensitive, you won't taste it. Lots of variety in the toppings. The bowl served is also very hot so the noodle soup will never go cold, but just be careful. The Braised Pork Noodles has two types of pork in it and also has spicy oil added. The added spiciness isn't too much and the spicy oil added additional dimension. I prefer the "Crossing-Bridge" Noodles over this, but this dish is still very good! SERVICE Standard Asian sit-down restaurant. When you go into the restaurant, if it's full, the server will ask you to put your name on the list. They will seat you when you are ready. Order via QR code, they print out what you order and tape it to your table, and then bring your food out when it's ready. When you are finished, take note of your table number and pay at the front. I do like that they have good utensils and napkins at the table. They have both soup spoons and ladles at the table as options. Only gripe I had was that the water cups are small so I finished it quickly. The servers don't really check on you, so I didn't bother asking for additional water. Servers are also fully masked like a lot of Asian-run restaurants. COST For the two noodle dishes, the bill came out to about $40 after tax and tip. Not too bad considering that the noodle soups are pretty large and have diverse toppings and will leave you full. SETTING Interior is well lit to help those food pics and very clean. They have about 8-10 tables inside, including two long tables that can be split to accommodate 2 parties or 1 large party. We had to wait about 10 minutes when we got there for a weekend lunch at noon. Parking might be difficult on weekends since this a popular area to eat and get your 99 Ranch shopping done. This store took the spot of Snowflake, which used to make yummy desserts. The restaurant now serves a delicious variety of rice noodle dishes/soups. The vibe is casual but clean and classy, and the service is great! The portions are also pretty big. I tried the pork rice noodles which were slightly spicy but had great savory flavor! The black sugar rose papaya ice came in a cup and straw, but was still refreshing and not too sweet. I've never heard of crossing bridge noodles before, but I appreciated all the different ingredients that represent the Yunnan cuisine. The broth is savory (like ramen) but not too heavy/rich. The customer service here is great- and you order from a tablet and then they bring you the food. The ambiance is nice too. The issue is that it is often really crowded so be prepared to have close seating. Also, they bring you all these beautiful components for your noodle dish, and you may not want all of them,but you're paying for them anyway, and you don't get much of anything as a result because you instead get a lot of many things but small portions. I also wish the menu was larger, it seems somewhat limited. They charge a lot for what you get but I appreciate the good customer service. If you have questions on the menu, they will help you with it too (it is definitely a more ethnic restaurant). read more

It's a great place. As a legit Kunminger it's always nice to taste something really similar to what I used to love. The food is very authentic. A regular cross bridge rice noodles is $19.99 which is absolutely overpriced. I get it it's authentic but this shouldn't be the reason for getting overcharged. Shame on other Yunnan restaurants if they couldn't make their food authentic but in my opinion authenticity is a basic requirement not a plus or a reason to charge more. Service is ok.
