I was excited about a venue that catered to live bands and seemed to be getting a bit of buzz as a new venue in Chamblee. Clutch only offers valet for parking, as a lot of Atlanta venues do; yet, I find that if a venue has a parking lot, the venue should accomodate customers with parking as a courtesy. The entire valet thing is too much when you can clearly park your own car. It definitely tells a bit about the values of the business owner. I ended up here to see a live band and the band did not disappoint. It was a gogo band and I'm from D.C. so it was a vibe and great to see people from my city! Great energy, dancing and just a great time and vibe. I ended up sitting at the bar due to seating but that was fine. Table seating is limited but accommodating, especially if you plan ahead. Good enough room to dance and eat as well as a lot of great photo opportunities. They have a balloon back drop as well as nice decor. As far as the menu goes, I see absolutely nothing to write home about here. I tried at least four different dishes, searching and longing for some flavor, only to be disappointed time after time. I ordered the lamb - and let me just say - that the menu is on a piece of printed paper (not even cardstock) and was very limited. So I ordered from the printed menu that featured entrees with no sides at all, just the entree. Yet nothing is featured as a-la-carte or tapas. If you have menu items featured as an entree, I think a side dish should be included. No sides at all with any of the entrees. I got the lamb, which was decent enough and tender and I also ordered fries as a side item - the fries were good and just the way I like them, well seasoned too. The lamb portion was small and the fry portion was decent. I also ordered the salmon sliders, the bun choice of bread was not the best with like a hard brioche type of bread. The bite size sliders were just okay and seasoned just well enough. The brussel sprouts I ordered were way too salty and the portion size was decent. Don't even get me started on the drinks, I don't know what the mixologist was doing but baby the flavors weren't mixing at all. No thank you, shots only! I went to Clutch yesterday for my birthday and it was absolutely amazing! I loved the decor and how intimate it was. The service was phenomenal. My waitress was named Jessica and she was so polite and had contagious energy! She contributed positively to the experience. The food was incredible. 10/10 recommended the chicken wings and pasta. The inside was extremely hot! They had several fans placed throughout the inside and it was obvious the air was not working after being seated. Not to mention we had to pay $10.00 for parking. Atmosphere was good but service -- out of this world poor. Great band around 9:30. We had reservations at 8 ordered food and drinks 1/2 of our 5 guest receive drinks at the front the other 1/2 had to wait an hour for a drink. 11:30 reservation. We were on TIME. Order was taken at 11:45- only to be told NO OMELETTES and the weird thing is, Brunch is ONLY served on Sundays so why would we not be able to get an omelette because "Sundays are busy"... "it's up to the chef"... the place wasn't even that crowded. Then, we are informed of the city of Brookhaven ordinance- no alcohol before 12:30.. Boom! Okay Cool- not your fault this city is stupid.. BUT!! we conspired with the waitress (who was pretty cool personality-wise) to order and kinda chill until we can drink. So we place our WATER order , chill for a minute, put the food order in , it arrives like 40 minutes later (there's 6 of us, so we're not trippin) arrives incorrectly, NO cheese on the eggs that we had to order because of the on the spot NO OMELETTE ORDINANCE. White instead of Wheat toast. So once the food gets straightened out- the drinks we ordered at 12:21 in anticipation of a 12:31 touchdown, that our waitress had to switch up to Bartender got us around 12:45- at 1:00 on the dot, we got a tap on the shoulder and a swift kick in the ass- WHELP! Time to Go! 90- minute table time limit is up and there's no seats at the bar. So we ain't have to go home but... you know the rest. read more

Very cute and clean spot but has opportunity. Went with my gf's for Sunday brunch and wait time was an hour AFTER ordering our food. We noticed that patrons seated after us had gotten their food prior to us which was upsetting. I ordered the chicken and waffles. Chicken was nicely seasoned but waffles were kind of bland in taste. One of gf's got shrimp and grits and she said it was 3/5 in taste. Another got the Lamb chops and described it as a 3/5. Manager was very professional and handled our concerns accordingly. Went there for meatless Monday thing they do on Monday's apparently and I have to be honest that was some of the worst and over priced food I've had in long time. I first ordered some pasta that was 32 dollars.. hated it, it was some jive I've could've gotten at pho or any ramen place for a 1/3 of the price... sent that back and tried the curry jackfruit over rice... very bland and tasteless. The rice tasted and looked like it was warmed up out of one of those rice pouch jives... only reason I'm writing this is cuz the food was SO BAD AND EXPENSIVE and I'm tired of these Atlanta restaurants charging arm and a leg for bad and disgusting food. It need to be stopped! Only positives from this experience is how nice it looks inside and the service I got from my server. Outside of that RUN FAR AWAY this place sucks and overpriced... mind you it was only for meatless Monday and they claim they just started doing it. Went here yesterday for a friend's birthday for brunch. If you're looking for a loud setting with a dj, this is not your place. They had all the dj equipment set up, but no dj. We sat down and within minutes our waitress came to our table to take our drink orders, we then didn't see her for another 30 minutes until I went to go and get her. She came back with no drinks. So then the manager is pressing her because she's taking so long with our table that she rushes us through our food orders, but we still don't have our drinks. At this point it's been an hour and we got a table full of water. She then didn't come back for another long amount of time so at this point it's been a total of an hr and a half and we don't have drinks. They then come with our food and we were told that we could "keep the silverware" ...... it was plastic (we didn't ask for that). We now have our food and still no drinks. The food wasn't really that great. I got cauliflower, it was cool. A couple of people got grits and they said they weren't good. The breakfast was good according to others. Now we are finishing up and have to remind her for our drinks for a fourth time. By the time I got mine, my food was finished. I personally won't ever go here again, it felt very underwhelming and they're probably still trying to figure things out since they've just opened. read more

I visited Clutch on a Friday night to celebrate a birthday. First things first, and it has been addressed by several others, the $10.00 for parking is so unnecessary other than just a way to make money. It was really not necessary to valet park anyone's car literally a few feet away from you. Once you walk inside the restaurant, the decor is very nice and welcoming, staff very friendly. We sit at the bar and ordered a couple of whiskey sours and margaritas. Neither one left a lasting impression. But, if you are looking for presentation only, then you'll be fine. We were then escorted to our reserved table and we were aware that there would be a live band performing (sorry, I can't remember the name), but they were pretty good. We were immediately told that there was a $10.00 per person cover charge because of the live band. I apologize if I overlooked it, but this very important detail was not mentioned when reservations were made days prior. And, it wasn't mentioned once we entered the restaurant, only after we were seated. I am well aware that establishments do charge but just would have like to have known in advance. And, if you are going to charge us, the band should have been set up and playing for an 8:30 reservation. So, our defense was we should not have to pay for testing, testing, one, two, three. Moving on, we presided to order our food, crab cakes, shrimp and grits, lamb chops, pasta with shrimp and chicken, and short rib jerk burger. Everyone said that their food was really good. No complaints from anyone. We continued to enjoy the band and had a few more drinks (of course with extra added on the side). As far as the 90 time limit, our nice waitress (sorry, I didn't get her name), told us that since they were not overly crowded, we were fine. So we were not rushed out and of course we were patronizing well also. Oh, one last detail worth mentioning. There was a young lady walking around taking pictures that she would bring back to your table a short time later in a frame that was $20.00 to purchase (probably 5X7). Even though one person in our party purchased one, I did not find it necessary since everyone normally takes pictures with their phones. Overall, the question is would I ever come back to this restaurant? The answer is yes I would most definitely. I went with 3 of my friends on a regular Tuesday night out. We sat at the bar and ordered there at first then sat at a table to be more comfortable. Long story short, our food took about 40mins. We ordered a single shot of Hennessy, it was $16 freaking dollars. My other friend ordered a shot of Don Julio and that was $23. They had the audacity to charge all of us individual gratuity, my gratuity was $10. I immediately asked to speak to the manager. Our server said he'd be out in a moment and 5mins later came to our table and told us he's helping the staff in the back wash dishes, WASH DISHES of all things smh so he wasn't able to come speak to us. Long story short, I will not be coming here again nor will I recommend this place. Pasta was $28 and to add chicken was $8.99. In total, making my pasta $37. The food and the wait was it worth the bill whatsoever. I asked the server to show me where on the menu it says it will charge the ratio for gratuity as well as show me where on the menu a single shot of Hennessy was $16. She could not do either or because it did not exist. I don't recommend this place. We came on a slow and not busy night. The security guard at the front door asked of our experience as we were leaving and he was not surprised at all that we had nothing good to say. read more

I sat down at the bar and Jess spoke to me in less than 5 seconds of my sitting and gave me a water and informed me that she is just starting and she does the service bar for one of the servers and that I would be taken care of by one of the other bartenders momentarily. I saw her wave down the small light skinned young lady and she just brushed her off and told her to wait. I sat for another 10 minutes patiently waiting still with no order being taken. Jess came back by to refill my water and asked if I had been taken care of. I told her no not yet. So she said that she would take the order for me and get my drink started and apologized for my wait. After Jess took my order I got the Island daze and the short rib burger. My drink was AMAZING!!! And the burger was PHENOMENAL!! Jess was amazing and if you go definitely ask to sit with her. The music was awesome enjoyed the show. The only critique i have is that there are a lot of people behind the bar all at once. One side of the bar was spotless and neat and the other side looked like a hurricane had just struck. I like the environment and believe that once they get their organization together it will be a place you can barely get into. Well, first thing first. When you arrive, that's when you're told the whole parking lot is valet, and it's $10.00. I should not be made to pay to park. 2nd, I asked if we could sit in a booth, because I am not comfortable in high chairs. I was told no, because the booths are for parties of 4, and it was 2 of us, but you sit us at a high table for 4. 3rd, the food...salmon was fried REALLY hard, and I ordered cheese and eggs. When I got the plate, there was no cheese in the eggs. So the waitress said well let me get you another order. Then she comes back and says, the cook said he put cheese in the eggs, let me get the eggs off your plate, and he said he will melt some cheese on it. WHAT!!!! What kind of customer service is this? Now I see why it wasn't that crowded. Should have gone with my 1st mind and went to Roc South, where I KNOW the food is good. But wanted to try something different. Never again. read more
