    Fried Tofu
    Karen W.

Food taste so good! Got the three pieces original chicken combo. So tasty. Tofu was very good favors, like what fresh tofu, soft and firm inside and full of flavor outside. The seaweed roll has rice noodles inside, different than what I had it other places (meat and shrimp), but still delicious. Service is okay, fast and easy The location is perfect, next to AMC movie theater, great for before or after movie.

We have ordered take out and dined in here. The take out was really great and stayed crispy even with the car trip home. When we dined in here recently, and I really liked how they decorated the place reminiscent of places in Korea! However, I feel that the food quality was not great. The soy garlic sauce vas good and savoury. Sadly, the charcoal chicken didn't really have much of that smokey flavour that you get from grilling. The honey garlic chicken was soggy and not good. The best things were the waffle fries! I appreciated that they gave us gloves to wear to eat the kfc! The staff was nice, however they had the poor girl running front of house tables and carry out all on her own! Get more staff please!

Stopped in right before lunchtime rush... I was checking out the menu outside and almost figured out my order then the owner stepped out and offered to sort out best method of ordering Basically pick bone in or out and wing/drumstick. Then sauces. I chose honey garlic. Then you can also have it twice fried. Which I opted for. My intention was eat half and take the remaining home but could not stop eating them. Comes with side of sweet and sour radish and cabbage. This offsets the oil from the chicken. Chicken was steaming hot and savory throughout. They give you plastic gloves so you don't get your fingers all sticky. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The decorations range from BTS posters to my childhood manga series Mazinger Z - pronounced zet[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The owner was so friendly and checked in couple of times. With so many chicken variations, will visit soon.

I loved the space and how big it was. The music was great and being served was good. I ordered a 7- piece bone in wing and it was pretty pricey. I paid $15.99 but the chicken was super fresh, hot, crispy and juicy. Nice size pieces but still not worth the price. I would've said a smidge lower. I ordered a boba with added on popping boba only to get jellies and was told their version of popping boba was the jellies. Didn't make sense to me. Also I requested non dairy options but my drink surely wasn't dairy free. It was whole milk and messed up my whole stomach.

The service at CM Chicken was absolutely amazing! The staff was so attentive and friendly. Our server (or maybe the manager) noticed we might need a phone stand and brought one to us without even being asked -- such a thoughtful gesture! The food was delicious, fresh, and beautifully presented. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Everything about this place was perfect -- great food, great service, and a very warm atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Definitely coming back again!

Nice place, the waiter was very friendly and warns you what is spicy. Though my hubby can handle heat and asked to try their hotter sauce. My son loved mild ramen and the mozzarella Korean corn dog. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Cute interior.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Something fun to try is you like fried chicken and Asian flavors.

I placed an online order from google, which is their preferred method for a box of drumsticks (7pcs), it came with 5pcs only. I called to confirm, and the response I got was, "I am sorry that you feel that way, but we updated our manu 2 months ago." What a BS response. I will never order from this place again.

We love this location! The owner is so friendly and funny. The food is 10/10 every time. Portions are fair in size for what you pay which we love. Try their desserts!

Food quality is a big issue. The chicken quality is worst and tastes dried. You have to pay extra for every sauce.

Our party of 5 was seated in one of their both grills right away on a Friday night. We ordered the dolsot bibimbop, the dak bulgogi, fried rice, and bbq A beef sampler. Hwang Dae Gham is located in a non-descript strip mall with some closed store fronts, so plenty of parking. My daughter and I were in town and needed to visit in the Northern suburbs, so afterwards decided to have lunch at a place that had meaning for us. Unfortunately, it was closed on Mondays so chose another Korean restaurant. Hwang Dae Gham ended up a great choice. We came soon after it opened, and it was already busy. It is a family owned business, and they obviously take great pride in their food and service. We had a chance to eat a lot of their non-BBQ offerings, and every one of them was excellent. Started with two appetizer portions: mul-mandu (small, bite-size steamed dumplings...supposed to be only pork but I swear I tasted seafood/fish in it...very good...reminded me of eating pelmini in it's size and density); the other was a small portion of japchae which we devoured...usually not a fan of this style of Korean mung-bean noodles, but really enjoyed it. We got two entrees (didn't share for once, so each got what we wanted). I got the squid bibim-bap (mixed rice in a stone bowl)...it's important to look at the pictures, cause it clearly explains the difference between the normal bibim-bap. They basically put a large portion of the squid-bokum, on top of rice...missing the normal cold greens. It was different, and I loved it. It was served with the requisite gochujang sauce, but you don't need it. It's already pre-seasoned. My daughter got the Gamja-Tang (spicy soup with potato and pork neck), and she really enjoyed it....like most Korean hot soups, great for a chilly February Chicago day. All of it comes with side dishes and purple rice. We especially liked the sweet glazed potatoes, picked cucumbers, and sliced mung bean pancake. Service was very warm and consistent throughout. It was just a beautiful opportunity to have a great meal and spend a lot of time with my adult daughter, reminiscing about the past and planning for the future. The entire Hwang Dae Gham environment was very conducive to that. I really wish I had two stomachs so I could sample the other dishes on the menu...all of it looked so good. We ended up bringing home most of the entrees, and it was delicious re-heated. Really inspires me to explore K-Town more when I get home.

Our Combo was $100 and included miso or seaweed soup, rice, banchan and four kinds of meat: marinated bulgogi, short rib, ribeye and brisket. Delicious Delicious. The banchan was tasty tasty. I especially liked the pickled cucumber and the kimchi. Some of the reviews said they were charged extra for refills on the banchan dishes. We were not. What a feast. The server loaded up our grill with brisket and would leave and come back to flip things or turn things although we were pretty capable of doing it ourselves. They very nicely cut our ribeye into bite-sized pieces with the kitchen shears and also snipped up the short rib. The meat was delicious and the banchan and rice soon filled us up. We used the green leafy lettuce to make ssambap. I also liked the sauce with the sesame oil and salt. The bulgogi was last and we had to dig deep to finish it. What I liked was that nothing stuck to the grill and nothing burned either. I've had kbbq before at other places where it was too hot and the meat was burned. Everything was cooked perfectly. There was another table where flames shot up from the grill but the staff quickly went over to help. The staff was friendly and efficient. The banchan was plentiful and tasty. The portions of meat were pretty generous and good quality. Although pricy, I feel we got a lot of food and the meat was excellent because we cooked it ourselves :). So good so good. First, the good: every piece of chicken was juicy, moist, and plump, so the quality of the chicken itself was great. The Deli Soy (Teriyaki) Wings were easily the best. They were flavorful, well-balanced, and the only box I'd say is a must-order. The Garlic Soy Wings were a close second. They had a great savory garlic-soy flavor with a nice spicy kick that wasn't overpowering. The Original Drum Box was just okay. Nothing was wrong with it, but it was lacking seasoning and tasted pretty bland. The biggest disappointment was the Honey Garlic Drum Box. It had a rancid fish taste that made it completely inedible. I think it might have been cross-contaminated with the calamari or shrimp. Chicken should not taste fishy. I'd definitely come back for the Deli Soy and Garlic Soy Wings, but I'd skip both drum boxes.
