We were told by my nephew Will about this place and wanted to try it. WOW, Will was right this place is amazing. The crab bisque, the bang-bang shrimp and dinner salads were great! I had the oysters ion the half shell. They were very good. No grit or sand. All of the dinners were great but I had the blackened red fish and gumbo. This dish could be served in Heaven it was that good. Sara and friends had the deep fried apple pie with vanilla ice cream. They said it Rocked!!! I had the oatmeal cookie and boy it was great. To top it all off we had the best server, Kim. What a nice lady. She did such a great job. Now the atmosphere. We sat outside on the water under the bridge. This is a must return spot. We LOVED our lunch at Cobalt! The staff was friendly, the food was great, AND we sat outside and got to see plenty of dolphins while we ate. The Key Lime tart from the front of the restaurant was literally one of the best things I've ever had in my life and it was only 3 bucks! It will definitely be a regular stop for every future trip. I was so looking forward to eating here as the reviews were amazing!!! We were seated promptly and our server (Tyler) was very attentive . Unfortunately, after TWO drinks our party was cut off from drink service!!! I was dumbfounded and called the manager (NICK!!) over to inquire why. He told me no specific reason but he was "nipping it in the bud" because he thought we might get out of control! What?!?! I'm 50 years old and have NEVER been cut off in my life. Initially I was very disturbed by the fact that my friend and I was overlooked to be seated by at least eight parties of people who entered the restaurant after us. This restaurant has an unbelievable view. The location has to be one of the best in orange beach. The service was great and polite. But the food is simply horrible. There was no flavor or seasoning. The crab dip was decent but would be better with smaller toast points, not huge pieces of soft bread. Even chips or crackers would make this dip better. The bisque was bland. The grouper was cooked well but the sauce, again flavorless. The crab meat served on the grouper wasn't fresh and tasted of. Ring freezer burnt. And most disappointing was the $60 butcher block. Last night it was an aged bone in rib eye. It was nearly too tough to cut into. Undercooked and under seasoned. Served with a candied apple bacon butter, first bite I thought it might have been a pork chop. Just a horrible combination lacking true creativity. I struggled to cut and eat five bites hoping to find a good bite but no luck. Just a super cheap cut of beef that was sold as prime dry aged for 60 days. To make matters worse, I took the bone home to my dog and he's been sick all morning. I did complain about the crab, to warn the kitchen so as not to serve bad crab. You. Must. Eat. Here. Okay, first of all, the wait is crazy. We had heard this so we arrived at 4:30 on a Friday evening for dinner and had to wait one hour and 15 minutes for our party of 5. By the time we left, the wait was two hours. So you will definitely want to plan ahead. They will take your name and number and text you when your table is ready. There is a cute little gift shop area to browse in while you wait, and we got drinks from the bar while we settled in to the seated waiting area. Be aware there is limited seating while you wait. They also have a bakery case in the gift shop area so we purchased a few bakery items while we waited. The triple chocolate cookie was unbelievable and my partner said the day-old vanilla bean cupcakes were still fresh and delicious. Prices for the bakery items were average. They have seating indoors and outdoors. The restaurant is situated right on the Bay with floor to ceiling windows that offer a beautiful view. The staff were helpful and friendly, and the restaurant was clean and comfortable. My partner had the grouper that came with a tomato -based sauce that was delicious. I am not a fish person but he said the grouper was the best he ever had. I had the zydecco chicken, which had a sauce unlike anything I have ever tasted. The menu described it as a Cajun Alfredo sauce, but I would just describe it as delectable. The chicken was flavorful and moist on a bed of pasta with the sauce. I wish there had been more pasta or chicken so I could soak up every last bite of sauce. Two of our teenagers got pizza. One was a build your own pepperoni and the other was the Margherite pizza. The tomatoes and basil on the pizza were very fresh and the tomatoes were lightly roasted which really brought out the flavor. Our other teenager ordered the filet and said it was definitely above average. Two of the most popular items are reportedly the crab bisque and the firecracker shrimp appetizer. We tried both and neither disappointed. The crab bisque was smooth and creamy with ground crab, not chunks. There was no fishy flavor at all. The firecracker shrimp was perfectly seasoned and sauced, and the portion for an appetizer was more than enough. It is a high-end restaurant although many people were very casually dressed. The prices are comparable to most high-end restaurants I have visited. This is the best restaurant we tried in Orange Beach by far. We all agreed that it was our favorite meal of the trip. We will definitely be back every time we are in town. read more

This place is under the bridge in Orange Beach and they have every style food imaginable. They even have a Pizza Are . They have nice sandwiches and Seafood that is very nice. It's a beautiful Restaurant very large has outdoor seat and tables and that view is unreal it's so beautiful. Inside is very nice. The nicer menu for dinner is not cheap but it's not too bad. This is definitely the best place we've eaten while in Gulf Shores/Orange Beach! The wedge salad my husband had was the best wedge salad either of us has ever eaten! The Firecracker Shrimp appetizer was delicious as well. My husband had the Shrimp Fra Diavolo for his meal. I had the Shrimp and Grits with a side of Parmesan Risotto. Both meals were wonderful. My risotto was amazing!!! Despite my objection, my husband chose for us to sit inside because of the heat. The outside patio is amazing though!! We came over Fourth of July weekend. We were quoted 2 and half hours to wait but ended up waiting only around an hour. There's a nice outside patio area to wait and a cocktail server can get you apps and drinks while you wait. When we went there was live music and our wait went faster due to the overall pleasant environment. We sat on the patio over looking the ocean. For dinner we had the Wedge salad, "Brian style", fried fish Platter and Bronze Grouper, which was suggested by our server Olivia.
