My experience for this place would simply be just okay... There really isn't much of anything that Cocohodo has to offer. Yes they do offer a red bean with walnut type pastry and this is their main seller but it really isn't anything to rave about, crave about, or anything worth coming back for. Do not get me wrong the pastry was good but nothing excellent here. On top of that the taste would appeal only to those that like red bean my fiancé personally did not like it. Other than these pasties they do offer coffee which was just okay, drinks were nothing special. A suggestion for this business would find other things to market besides this pastry. I also suggest trying to experiment with the flavors of your pastry. Maybe try a green tea or a Creme' flavor. Just something else besides red bean. This place is too limited and menu is not diverse enough for my liking. read more

This cute dessert shop is still super cute and yummy! The walnut, red bean pastries are served warm and wrapped cute in its little packaging. Also, I love how each little pastry has its own wrapping within a larger cleaner bag. Imagine if people just dug there hands in there without the wrapping! Anyways~ the pricing is pretty decent too. Great place!!! I've known about cocohodo for a few years now but I've never lived close enough to one to REALLY experience it... Until now ;) First of all I'm very picky about my matcha and this places kills it with their matcha smoothie and latte!! Although the name is slightly strange -- "ice blended matcha" it tastes amazing and yes I order it with its menu given name as awkward as that is. I've tried a few other drinks they are pretty good as well but I'm sticking with the matcha because I'm boring and I don't like change. :) I've yet to try the waffles but I'm so tempted every time. The walnut pastries (what they're known for) are very delicious!! They are also very reasonably priced. The filling is yummy and there's a lot of filling. It might get too sweet if you have too many.. (guilty)... But you can always pace yourself and save some for later. Last but not least, the service. It's been great every time I've gone. They are all Korean and don't speak that much English but ordering isn't really a problem. Last time I went this young guy with glasses helped me out. He also told me he can rest the wifi if it doesn't work for me. Yeah... It didn't work but I didn't wanna bother asking. I figured it doesn't usually work since he even offered to rest it... These treats are simply delicious! They're sweet but not too sweet, and for anyone that likes red beans, you'll love the red bean paste in these small bite sized pastries. One of the more recognizable things about these cool little morsels is that they're formed pressed into the shape of walnuts shells! It's nice because inside the pastry, they place a walnut into each bite sized piece! I've even had some of my coworkers try these snacks, and every time I've done so they've loved them! This is coming from Caucasian, Black, and Hispanic individuals too! The store itself looks kind of like what a cafe might look like, but as my girlfriend pointed out to me, the place attracts a lot of elderly Korean folk(it really does!). Delicious. Tiny, and walnut shaped, these little bite sized pastries are probably the best ones I've ever had. I've only had them from the grocery market before, but these are fresh and still hot from being cooked. Generous amounts of red bean are inside with a big half walnut at the top. It does close a bit early for being a cafe, at 7pm, so stop by a bit early to get you hodo-gwajah fix. So my friend and I were looking for a place to study at on a Sunday night and we came across this cute little cafe that provided free wifi, plug-in outlets, and delicious treats. I ordered an iced green tea latte, but my order came out late. The staff was nice enough to offer me free walnut pastries because they felt bad that my order was delayed. Ended ordering a fruit waffle, omitting the strawberries- because I don't like them! I was informed it takes 20mins to make, which was fine as I had plans to study and work anyways. Overall, waffle was good, but not amazing. It got a bit too eggy tasting as it got cold, and I would have preferred it to be crispier . Also at $8 it is a bit high considering, the ice cream topping was just plain vanilla, and there was a sparse amount of whip cream. The fresh made delight is in a cute walnut shape waffle, filled with redbean paste and a piece of walnut. The Redbean paste has a rich flavor and not as sweet as the chinese ones :) I purchased the $5 gift boxes to many family / friends gatherings, people just love this treat and always ask me where they can get more! When you walk in you will smell the red bean pastry with the hint of the walnut aroma. LOL you've guessed it!! the pastry is a crispy waffle filled with red bean paste and walnut! soo yummy!! The price is really good as well not expensive at all!! (in fact inexpensive!!) They also have the box for it if you need to give it as a gift! At 9:38 pm, the employees told us they were closing, with a demeanor basically kicking us out already. I have never had that happen before, and felt that was rude on my part. Their hours say closing time is at 10. My acquaintance and I left a 5 minutes after they told us. I could not stand the staring as they cleaned up. They closed the store at 9:50. I don't get that from Starbucks or other places I've been to. I feel welcomed, even during near closing time as the employees clean up and manage their time properly for clean up. I know I have to leave at the time they close. No duh, store operating hours are done for the day on the hour they abide by with integrity and honesty. It was a nice cozy relaxing place to begin with, but the discomfort of being pressured at the end I disliked. I'm not returning here. On a further note, the cashier just stood there waiting on me to order. I'm used to cashiers doing other things, and telling me they'll be back when I'm ready, then I inform them that I'm ready to order, not stand there and wait for me to order already and not say anything either as I'm looking at the menu. Came here to study on a Sunday afternoon! I got the Coco Latte (even when I asked for less sweetness, it was really sweet! It was ok. Teas were very normal teas (I had peach blossom tea, cold, no sugar and it really was just a normal tea). My friend and I shared a matcha shaved ice.. the shaved ice is the grounded ice flakes like the ones in a snow cone, not the soft cloudy type shaved ice.
