    Walnut pastry

I ordered the combo A, which contains a hot cup of coffee plus 4 walnut pastries. I enjoyed the cafe's warm colors that creates a charming and warm vibe. Service is fast as my order came out in less than a minute. The staff saw my backpack and then informed me there are no outlets in the cafe. The cafe was mostly empty, but small groups of customers came and went during my visit. As mentioned in other yelpers' reviews, the coffee is light and watered down. I would not recommend ordering the coffee here as there is little taste. The walnut pastries on the other hand were great. Just the right amount of sweetness and a fun mixture of textures with the red bean filling, the walnut bits, and the dough. Overall, the coffee is an 1/5 rating, but the ambience and the pastry carried my overall rating to a 3/5.

When I saw the sign of this place, I had to pop in to see if it was the red bean walnut shaped pastries I was given as a gift once. Omg, it is! Not too sweet, just the perfect amount of sweetness in a soft walnut shaped pastry. I bought myself a medium sized bag with 20 pieces and it's hard not to eat them all by myself. I bought a bag and my friend bought the other one (I'm not a complete fatty)

Believe me when I say, I love to explore new (to me) coffee houses and I had Cocohodo in my radar for a while. I did however expected for the menu to be a little bit more extense. I personally have always thought that coffee shops in particular need to offer a variety of drinks (made w coffee) and not so much focus on other type of beverages. Now, that said they do have a limited pastry variety but this was to be expected and the one on their claim to fame is their famous 'walnut pastry' which was PHENOMENAL. I loved the flavor and if you have been hesitant to try anythibg labeled w 'red bean paste', dont. It is bsolutely delicious. The place is cozy and very quiet despite being in a high traffic area. The guy who took my order didn't quite explain to me what exactly were this walnut pastries (or the girl who walked in after me) but I was still hapoy with his offer. Def coming back

Service is excellent, friendly staff. Ambiance is very cute and family friendly. Parking is no problem and restroom is very clean. the mangi shaved i e is sooo yummy and they have soft bread that i have never had before. I will definitely comeback to taste other stuff.

Their walnut and red bean pastry used to be better. It now tastes a bit dough-y, not enough walnut flavor. I took my bf here to try it since he never tried them before and he was a bit disappointed. It has been a while since I came back for these (almost 5 years) and something was a bit off with the taste. But my bf's mom loved them; i guess it depends on the person.

Yummy!! First time trying this place since my friend was raving about it and it was definitely worth the hype! Their walnut and red bean donut is sooo delicious and came warm. It's not too sweet and a perfect gift for parents. Definitely will be coming back! The service was good she was nice and informative. It was pretty busy on a Saturday afternoon

Best Cafe in Rowland heights!!! Korean-owned and perfect seating arrangement. I tell all my friends and family about it! I have gone to many cafes and traveled so many places, and I can tell you as someone who goes to Rowland Heights often, this is the best service you will get in a cafe. Kim, the lady behind the cashier is so kind and sweet . She works so hard and deserves all the love in the world. She told me that she makes the green plum juice by hand, and it is the most refreshing drink ever! The friendly service makes you keep coming, but the walnut cookies have me addicted. I learned about this cafe years ago when I wanted to try something new and get some ice cream. Over time, I started spending hours being productive, hanging out and enjoying the atmosphere. The green plum juice, the walnut cookies, and the macaroons are so good! The WiFi is great and it's very easy to sit anywhere with good air condition! I am very grateful they opened this cafe in Rowland heights and kept the business, I hope they keep getting new customers and everyone tries the walnut cookies and green plum juice. Best way to get breakfast on a budget! And such amazing quality, you won't find this anywhere else! Make sure to give a tip, because they work so hard!!

We were craving shaved ice and wanted something local so we decided to try COCOHODO this establishment is within walking distance from where I live. They have many menu items but we ordered snowy Bingsoo, which consisted of snow ice texture with dairy and fresh strawberries, It wasn't bad something different. The customer service was friendly and courteous. The structure is medium in size, it's put together nicely with plenty of tables to sit down and enjoy your dessert. There's plenty of parking, the handicapped stalls are close to the front entrance.

Pastry is good and affordable. Not served warm like the buena park location, but still taste solid. If you like red bean, you will like this. Coffee is ok. Either too light or watered down or maybe just human error on that particular day. They have other stuff too like shaved ice, macarons, smoothie, and croffle w/ ice cream. Cafe was so empty and sad. Came on saturday afternoon and there was barely anybody. It was pretty awkward to sit around by ourselves but lady was nice and left us alone. We should come back here to support the business!

My husband came across this place because it brought back childhood memories for him. He hadn't had the walnut red bean pastries since he was a kid. I'd never heard of it. So he wanted me to try it. We ordered two bags of the walnut pastries. We would've also ordered shaved ice but the cashier said the machine was broken. I was pleasantly surprised when the walnut pastries came out warm and cutely wrapped. I felt like a squirrel opening a little parcel. The pastry is nice and soft and cakelike on the outside and filled with delicious red bean and walnuts on the inside. We brought some back to share at home and they were a hit.

Walnut Pastries and Shaved Ice? It's literal heaven. Since I was little, I loved hodugwaja (warm bread ball filled with red bean and walnuts) and never found a place in America that lived up to the Korean expectations, but this place changed the game. The ambiance is very cute and calm which reflects the customer service!! The workers were very very polite. They also have bingsoo (shaved ice) with the walnut pastries as toppings. It tastes extraordinary, trust me! Recommendations: - Walnut pastry Bags - Shaved Ice - Green Tea

I am so glad we chose Hide Out Cafe in Rowland Heights to have our celebration. The food is delicious, the staff is so friendly, and the cafe is so cozy and welcoming. My brother was sponsoring our meal since he couldn't make it, so of course we had to go all out and order two drinks and two main dishes. (Thank you, big brother)! I got the Boba Bear Set $8.50, which comes with a drink and two house-made cookies, and my mom got their Tiramisu Latte $7.00, which is heavy on the coffee liquor, to be honest, but we had fun with it. The drinks are crafted beautifully, and with the open cafe concept, you can see they pay attention to the small details of their crafted drink menu. The house-made cookies that were a part of my Boba Bear Set are not to be forgotten. The cookies are buttery, decadent, and delicious; they are the perfect tea cookies to pair with! I can't wait to go back and try more of their fun drinks and maybe bring a study book the next time. For our main dishes, we shared the Chimi Wagyu & Frites $35.00, and the Fresh Avocado Toast $19.00. We both love eggs so of course we had to get something with eggs in our dish. My mom loved her avocado toast, and they were very generous with the avocado as well on there. The salad is a definite hit with us and included a great dressing on the side. The eggs were cooked perfectly on top of our toast and steak. The frites with my steak were crispy and seasoned well. I also loved the chimi sauce with my steak as well. The portion was huge so we were able to take some back home to enjoy another day. Overall, my mom and I had a great experience and would absolutely come back for another sip of their lattes and try another fun drink on their menu. We left with happy smiles and full stomachs, and can't wait to come back soon.

Went with one of my besties and we picked our seat. He ordered the Nashville hot chicken breakfast sandwich! It honestly looked delish and something I would order. I decided to try to Smoked salmon with a runny egg on top... and we shared a Toffee French toast banana treat which was honestly to die for. I like it more than the smoked salmon. The Lychee sangria pitcher was delish as well and sneaky to share between two because we were pretty litty and chatty after... I like the cute lil vibe inside. Spacious enough and not too crowded for a 12:00pm brunch Sunday noon time with a friend. The only critiques is no one really checked up on us to refill our waters.. and when they did they asked if we were done, but in reality we were still working on the French toast. I would have liked more napkins and utensils to get the fishy smell out to enjoy my toffee French toast so I can be posh and cute :D (and my bestie eventually did ask). I improvised and used my hand hehe. Other than that, I was more than happy with the food and the warm atmosphere. I would come again.

Popping Yolk Café in Hacienda Heights is in the same plaza as Grab a Crab. You can't miss them…read more They are in the corner of the plaza with a bright yellow building. There is plenty of parking in the plaza. This is a fairly casual brunch. They assign you a table, give you menus, but you'll have to order and pay at the front. Not much service after you order and they drop off your food. My boyfriend has their Classic Breakfast ($18.20) and I had their Kimchi Butter Fried Chicken Benedict ($19.20). The food took a while to come out, and they came out pretty spread apart. I noticed with the other tables how one person would be halfway through by the time the other person's food came. My boyfriend's food came out before mines and I told him to eat first but he wanted to wait for me. Both of the meal came with a side salad and potatoes. I was most look forward to the salad but I was disappointed with how overly dressed and sour it was. Very imbalanced. I've been to other Popping Yolk cafes so I know it isn't meant to be this sour. Their plating also makes all the dressing leak onto the rest of the meal. Depending on what you get it can make it soggy and/or change the intended flavor profile. My boyfriend really likes their potatoes here. It's nice and crispy. It can make you full. They overly salted my potatoes so I didn't want much of it either. As for my kimchi butter fried chicken benedict... Mhmm... as a new item I HOPE they are still working through it. They put a kimchi layer directly onto the English muffin making it soggy immediately... Even on the first bite it was already soggy. By the time I was onto the second half, I just removed the muffin because it was inedible. The tasty was good. I liked the flavor combination but the execution was the big issue. The sauce and everything just made the fried chicken soft and soggy too. I want crispiness when I hear fried chicken. Oh yeah! My boyfriend also got a Pepsi ($3.25). On their menu it says the sodas are refillable. The whole time we were there I didn't see staff checking on anyone's refillable drinks. If you're expecting the refill, you might be disappointed. The experience is very casual and lackluster but the pricing is definitely on the high side. I'm not a fan.

Needed a place to get some work day and Outpost Coffee really came in clutch…read more There were plenty of parking available in a plaza which is shared with other businesses. I went on a weekday before noon and had no issues with finding a spot. For ordering, they had a kiosk inside with pictures for reference as well. It does accept American Express. After ordering, it only took a few minutes before it was ready. As for the atmosphere, there were a few other people, but they were mindful of noise. The music was also moderate, so I was able to focus without any earphones. There was plenty of seating from the center table to seating at the wall and even window seats. There were outlets available near seatings at the wall. There was also free WiFi as well. At first it indicated you would only have WiFi access for 1 hour. However, after the hour, I reconnected and it refreshed the timer. For my coffee, I decided to get an iced Dalgona latte. They provided many pieces of Dalgona. I did ask to get this at regular sweetness and ice. Overall, after the Dalgona dissolved with the ice, it felt like a good amount of sweetness. It was decent, but I've come back to try other drinks!

Apparently all locations of the Mugs have been bought out and rebranded. The location in DB is now…read morerebranded as Outpost Coffee. It appears that they are still in their transition phase as there are still signs of "the Mugs" throughout, including the same menu and company info poster. I got the Banana Caramel latte and it is so good! Slight sweet banana flavor but doesn't overpower the espresso so it still tastes like a coffee drink. Plenty of seating for working and just hanging out. Parking is plentiful, staff is nice, just wish the noise of the refrigerator case wasn't so loud so I could enjoy the background music.

Such a hidden gem! Made the drive up from Irvine and it was worth every mile…read more If you come here, you HAVE to get the Beef Tongue Rice. The cuts are perfectly thick and tender, and mixing it with the runny egg is incredibly satisfying. Even better than my usual go-to spots. We also tried the Taiwanese Mini Hot Pot--the broth is mild, but their Shacha dipping sauce is super authentic and hits the spot. The Stir-fried Water Spinach had great wok hei, too. But the real plot twist was the Pineapple Bun with Butter. I normally skip these because I find them too sweet, but theirs is a game-changer. Extremely crispy on the outside with that perfect slice of cold butter melting inside. Great portions, quick service, and a very comfortable environment to just sit down and enjoy a solid meal with friends. Highly recommend!

This place was quite good. I had never been to a Hong Kong Cafe before and I thought it was very on…read morethe nose that it this place was named Hong Kong cafe. The rice and minced pork was super good. Good sweetness and texture. The chow fun was good but I think I would have preferred soy sauce option over the black bean option. The crispy noodles had a really good texture that I really liked, but I wish they were in a diff sauce. A more savory soy sauce or a more salty peanut sauce would have been great. I also like the ambiance and service was also pretty good! the food did not take that long to come out. Everything was pretty affordable and parking was really simple to find as well! Overall, I would recommend going to this place! I think most people would really enjoy it!
