Coffee Emporium is one of those places where you feel like, "we all know and love 'em," right? But they still should get some more Yelp love heaped on them. Coffee Emporium is my go-to coffee shop if I am going downtown, or even for swinging through downtown at times. Their speed and location make it well suited for a visit to the courthouse. They have so many staff at any one time that I've never waited long for anything, even their sandwiches. I'm the one who can't resist the raspberry thumbprint cookies so I'm glad they've always had them when I come in. Their other baked goods look delicious, and they also offer vegan cookies, for when I needed to give a friend a cookie while I ate my thumbprint cookies. They also have cold sandwiches and salads to go, which is great The coffee is great, of course, whatever you order. They offer drinks like London Fog, and other tea lattes, if you want less caffeine but more fun. The decor was redone a couple years ago and I love the space - its very spacious, with areas to meet quietly, have lunch, or work independently. I look forward to being able to meet here again once the pandemic is over. Great coffee beverages with a great atmosphere! This place is made for drinking coffee and working. Loads of tables and WiFi both inside and out. The coffee is always on point with fair prices. They roast their own beans so it tastes unlike any other local shop. They are consistent. The baked goods on the other hand are not. Scones - good. Bars - good. Pastries - not good. Keep that in mind! But if you're looking for a great place to work on your computer with a coffee and a snack and not feel cramped or rushed, this is by far the best option in the area! read more

People who can never find their name on novelty items rejoice! The person who took my order was not only very efficient and friendly, I noticed he started to spell my name incorrectly - crossed it out and got it right! A small thing that is a nice touch for someone who is often called by the wrong name. They were busy but it did not take long to get my order - a large Brew Hoo (think iced mocha) and Hummingbird Cake (I never see this served anywhere so I snatched it up!). They have plenty of seating and do offer free WiFi, however it limits you to 45 free minutes before kicking you off. This has become my new favorite work from home/meet up with colleague spot! I love the vibe here is so motivating yet relaxing at the same time LOL! I'm not a big coffee fan but the tea here is amazing. So much to choose from. I also love their breakfast sandwiches quiches and muffins. My ultimate favorite muffin is the cinnamon coffee cake muffin. Sweet baby Jesus it's amazing! I haven't had lunch here but I heard it was really good as well I'm sure I will try that next. Great to work from! I'm traveling and needed an office for the day. Coffee is good and the baked goods are even better! The exposed brick gives a hometown vibe even though this shop is smack downtown. There are outlets along the walls at the bar seats. Went here twice! Their coffee is phenomenal. The place was packed but the line moved quickly and the drinks were handed out in minutes. Had the honey bee? With vanilla and honey, it was amazing. Mine was getting some food. He ordered an iced coffee and a linzer cookie while I went for a small, spicy chai and a half, Belgian waffle with fresh strawberries and whipped cream. He seemed pleased with his choices and I was definitely good with mine. The waffle was crispy and light. The whipped cream was real and the berries were what you'd expect for November in Ohio. Quirky coffee shop. Has a slight Trader Joe's vibe. Coffee prices are reasonable ($2 for the medium). Love that I can pour my own cup versus waiting on the barista. I REFILLED 2x's! Met at a large table that could fit ~10. It was a networking event. Despite the general noise from the other tables, I could hear conversation at my table well. Small nooks were being used by single telecommuters. Lots of 1:1 tables. Street Parking is good. I had to run out to my meter to feed it...of course, I parked at the only broken meter that would not allow me to max the time! It was a blustery day and walking a block was not bad. I popped in here this past weekend for some coffee before heading to an NKU lecture and was also able to pick up a small gift for my daughter. The Toddy Jive drink was WAY sweeter than I had expected so if you like strong coffee maybe add a shot or two. My favorite part about this experience was the lady that helped me pick a few tea's to take back to my daughter when I made it home to Nashville. I wish I remembered her name but she had really short, blonde hair if my memory serves me correctly. She let me smell a few teas, gave me recommendations based on what her kids liked and never made me feel rushed. Also, I bought my daughter this cute little tea monkey they had! So adorable. I had heard a lot of reviews on the place so I finally decided to stop in. The pumpkin pie latter was amazing. It tasted exactly like a fresh pumpkin pie. I was so surprised how strong of a fresh taste it was compared to other places that say it but is just artificial spice. I will he ordering it again and buying the beans. The muffin warmed up was so good too. We also bought a bag of the mackinaw fudge coffee beans and cannot wait to use them in the morning. But the bag smells amazing and exactly like fudge. I love Coffee Emporium. They can on occasion have long lines, but that is what happens when you have such a good product. They roast all there own coffee and grind it fresh for each cup or pot depending on what you are getting. They also have fresh pastries and yummy sandwiches. I have been here several times over the past couple years. They have grown a lot and and the quality is still as good as it was if not better than when they were a smaller place. Each cup of yummy coffee or espresso or latte etc is made fresh (coffee is in pots but made fresh often throughout the day). I would love to have one of their stores closer to me in West Chester I would almost have to start going daily or buy my own machine to save money (but I know where I would get my beans). I ordered a Latte on this trip and a apple hand pie. I didn't bother having them warm my pie up, but it was offered several times I might add. I ate it down quick as it was cold outside and I had a long walk for work. Parking was not good on this day. The Latte was a large 20oz nothing added and you could simply taste the creamy milk and the amazing espresso as well. I almost always try to order something different when I go places and I have not just had a Latte in a long time and it was perfect. I highly recommend them. read more

Always love coming here for work/school/personal meetings. They seem to have a little bit of everything - snacks, meals, coffees, teas, smoothies, etc. Both great to-go or dine in. The eclectic-style of the coffee shop/restaurant makes it a fun environment to work in or catch up with a friend. I think many people would agree with me, because it is always busy and bustling. However they easily move us all through the line and are very friendly. One word to the wise however - if you are lactose intolerant/prefer milk alternatives in your coffee, I have often gotten chunky soy milk (either due to lack of ordering it or forgetting to shake the carton before pouring). Coffee Emporium is THE coffee place in Cincinnati. I typically frequent the Hyde Park location but had a visitor from out of town so decided to try the OTR location. We were not disappointed. Friendly staff, cute and quirky atmosphere, and yummy drinks/food! I got the breakfast burrito (w/o bacon) and it came with a nice cup of salsa on the side. It was really good, had great flavor, and was a nice portion size compared to some of the giant burritos at other restaurants. Had eggs and some veggies inside, looked like it was made under a panini press. My visitor had a raspberry scone and they even offered to warm it up for her! There are a lot of great drip coffee choices as well as coffee drinks, teas, juices, etc. I went with the Jasmine green tea as pictured. Lots of good gift items like chocolates, mugs, coffee accessories, coffee grounds, and locally made cards/postcards. Looove all the Charley Harper mugs and coffee bags designs. There were plenty of tables and seats available at around 11am on a Saturday, even got a metered parking spot right in front. It is in a great location to walk around downtown as well, less than a half mile from the Contemporary Arts Center and many other places to visit. I highly recommend giving it a try! read more

There simply aren't enough quality coffee shops in the downtown area. For some reason, Cincinnati has a weird obsessions that come in by chunks as opposed to having different businesses open at the same time. The current obsession is fried chicken restaurants. I'm not mad about it, but I really wish there were more coffee shops to spend your day at. Coffee Emporium is the OG sit, people watch, and enjoy your artisan cup of coffee that Cincinnati offers. This Coffee Emporium location is located at the corner of Central and Walnut. Unfortunately, since this intersection has a high amount of foot traffic, you can expect to be hassled by panhandlers prior to going in. This coffee house is large and in charge, nearly taking up the entire block with ample seating inside and out. That being said, I'm not actually a huge fan of hanging out here. Even though there are a lot of couches, the majority of the seating is a hodgepodge of different chairs and tables. There's no homey and comfy vibe you'd typically find from a large coffee shop. The walls and floor scream "sterile warehouse" and that's not exactly the type of place I'm thrilled to be spending my day at. A lot of people do it, but since it's not my cup of tea, I end up getting my coffee to go. I truly believe my tastebuds may have died a little over the years because I used to think Coffee Emporium coffee wasn't strong enough. Either that or they have expanded their coffee offerings. It's probably a mixture of both. There are a lot more blends sold than when I was in high school. Depending on how I feel and the weather, I'll order anything from a black hot coffee to an iced toddy jive. It's always a solid cup of joe. Perhaps I should give their breakfast/lunch menu a try, and maybe I'll be able to go above 3 stars. I respect Coffee Emporium for their longevity and commitment to in-house roasting, but I'll still be continuously wishing for a boom of coffee shops to hit the Queen City. read more
