Visited first time in several years. Definitely, this place is different. In a good way, imo. Everything was "awkward " in the past. Considering it's completely revamped - I'm thinking it's a very good thing. New ownership. The cashier / barista was super kind lady. I went with the drip coffee ( I'm just a plain black coffee type ). And the blueberry scone. All was enjoyable. Sufficient seating inside and outside. WiFi is available if you choose to linger around. Arrived around 8:30am on a Sunday. Good flow of customers coming in my 10min visit. Prices are about right compared to other stores. Yes, I prefer to support local businesses there than SB. Bathroom is available Ample parking in the area. read more

This coffee shop has quickly become one of my go-to spots for coffee! I've been here three times so far, and all 3 times lead to positive experiences. Let's start with the vibe. This shop has a very welcoming vibe. Upon entering, I was greeted with a smile. This applies to all three of my visits. The cashier did an amazing job at recommending drinks based on my preferences. I've always been an iced coffee person. I'm not a fan of hot coffee. Well, unless I'm feeling under the weather. On my first visit, I decided to try out the iced horchata latte. I liked the fact that they added a cinnamon stick on top of the drink. It was such a nice touch! The drink itself was good, but I wish that it had a bit more of an authentic horchata taste. On my second visit, I chose the iced butterbeer (butterscotch latte). The latte was creamy, smooth and so good!! This is my favorite drink from their menu so far. They included a piece of butterscotch candy on the side, which I thought was really nice! For my third visit, I chose their iced Bitter Sweet Memories (Tiramisu) latte. The latte had a very smooth and chocolatey taste to it. The Tiramisu syrup complimented the espresso well. They also offer a wide variety of pastries to pair your coffee with! This shop is located in a medium-sized shopping center. There's usually plenty of parking available. I visited this shop in the morning on all three of my visits. I had no issue finding parking at all. As for the service, it is definitely top notch. This shop nails speedy service, without sacrificing quality. I'm able to stop by and grab some coffee before my meetings without worrying about being late. Overall, this is the go-to spot for delicious, unique specialty drinks. The coffee is amazing. I ordered Americana with a splash of half and half. If you like a quality strong coffee, you won't be disappointed. Their croissants are delicious! Their employees are nice, kind, and helpful. My friend and I like that we can enjoy our coffee in a nice and relaxing coffee place even though the FIFA soccer game is playing on the very big screen. First timer but won't be the last! Highly recommend Coffee, Mi Amor. I ordered a holiday special drink with coconut cream & I swapped it with matcha plus a BLT sandwich. Everything was made deliciously. The service was so cutesy! Bryan greeted every one as they walked in & he made conversation to those that ordered. I stayed for about two hours to get some work done. They had waves of being busy then calm. Overall, clean environment, cozy, with wifi, a water station, & plenty of tables to chit chat or get work done. read more

I tried this spot for the first time today and I'm already in love! Everything was absolutely delicious. The red chilaquiles were so flavorful--perfectly saucy, with just the right amount of spice. And the coffee????Soooo good you can tell they really care about quality What made the experience even better was the staff. Everyone was incredibly kind, welcoming, and attentive!! Was just looking to try a new coffee shop because why not right? So got my regular vanilla latte just to try it out and I would say it is not the best it's ok. A bit too strong for me, I like my drinks a bit sweet. I guess to each their own. I would say it's a nice small cool coffee shop in the corner of a strip mall which usually are surprisingly good. Fast service. Overall if you like "Awkward drinks" come and try it out. The Tiramisu cream top does look fun and tasteful tho! read more

Stumbled into this place by accident and honestly felt like I found a hidden gem. From the second we walked in, the vibe was on point--clean, cozy, and super inviting. The staff was genuinely kind and really knew their stuff. We had no idea what to order, but the barista took the time to walk us through options and made spot-on recommendations. We ended up getting the Biscoff and butterscotch drinks, and both were so good--rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced. They do lean a little on the sweet side, but you can easily ask for less sweet (we did), and it was absolutely perfect. You can tell they actually care about quality here, not just pumping out sugary drinks. Unique matcha and coffee drinks with lots of customization options! Got a matcha pistachio drink and it wasn't even on the menu. I mentioned I liked the two and they said they could do it. Portion of the cup is sizable too (I shared mine). There's seating inside. It's clean and bright. Parking is easy. The baked goods are so good - got a sample of the cookies and got one to go. Matcha white chocolate. Pastry chef Mario was on site talking up his works and that was great! So glad I discovered this cafe. read more

The Iced Butterscotch Cream Top Latte was sweet and creamy. It didn't have a strong coffee flavor, but it was still enjoyable. The staff was super friendly and welcoming. The shop had plenty of tables, though it's popular and can fill up quickly. Everything was very clean, including the gender-neutral bathroom. The décor was stylish and cozy, creating a welcoming vibe. Parking can be a bit challenging since the lot is shared with other businesses in the complex. I ordered through an app to pickup here at the store. As I walked in my drinks were ready but my food was not there. I checked in with the lady at the counter who told me "your food will be ready when it comes out". She didn't ask my name to look.. After waiting an additional 10 minutes I asked her to check again please because my order should've already been ready. She came back and said that they don't have any more of the items I ordered they just ran out. Another worker stepped in and gave me options to replace it and I opted for a refund. To get a refund the gentleman said I have to go on toast (the app) to get it. IHe said I had to click on the get help button. But the get help button has you contact coffee mi amor and not the app. It says on there "any issues with your order, contact coffee mi amor". I asked him to please speak to the manager and he said he was the manager and repeated I had to go through toast for the refund there was nothing else to do. He can only give refunds to customers who pay in the store. Every time he said this he immediately started working again like he was finished with me but clearly I was not happy. I pointed at the owner and asked if I could talk to her instead, and he gave me a younger girl who tried to over explain to me that it takes 2 business days for refunds to go back to my card. Like what? That wasn't even the issue and her just randomly saying that let me know they weren't even trying to remedy the situation. It was just about the fastest answer to get me to leave. Really, I just wanted a refund for the items they ran out of. I pushed for my refund and eventually got it from him. He was very unhappy to give it to me. Upon leaving I did some more digging on the toast app. Per the toast app, you in fact have to direct all questions, returns, complaints about items directly to coffee mi amor and not toast. The only way to get a refund is from Coffee Mi Amor. The only way toast itself will interfere is if I placed an order, showed up and the business was closed. The staff here at this establishment are 110% incorrect what they're telling customers and proper training will keep another customer from being this frustrated. On top of the food they didn't have, one of my drinks wasn't full. read more

My sister bought me the butterscotch coffee, it was so delicious. An instant burst of caffeine, just what my body needed to take on a day of watching my baby all day. Also tried what my sister and cousins got, surprisingly mine was the least sweet, but enjoyable for myself. Can't wait to go back and try the other flavors and see the place myself! read more

Awkward Coffee was a spot my friends and I went to get some work done. We went around 10:30 am on a Saturday and it wasn't busy at the time, but definitely got packed around noon. For parking, they have available spots in a shared plaza. For seating, we were able to grab a table as a group of three. Seating with a table was somewhat limited and more for groups of 2-3. They had some couch seating at the side. In terms of WiFi, it was strong and reliable. For the order, I decided to get the iced bittersweet memories, which seemed like one of their signature drinks. Not sure if they had a deal, but a free pastry was given. Overall, but the drink and pastry were okay. I probably would not get either again. This spot does accept American Express. read more

Came to mi amor coffee since I found them on Uber Eats. I figured I stopped by and check out the shop in person and I'm so glad I did! I was greeted immediately by Mario and Bryan. They were so friendly and genuinely happy vibes. I asked for a recommendation and right away Bryan was able to recommend the biscotf latte. WOW so delicious!!! And they were also having a special, their home made coffee cake and mannn this was so delicious. It's hard to find a good coffee cake! The coffee flavor is phenomenal! I ordered through doordash so I can't speak on the customer service or interior of the store. I will say if you are like me and not a big fan of nuts be sure to ask for ALL items without as I think that would have sent my horchata latte over the top. My husband however loves nuts, hence the pistachio latte and he said it was the best coffee he's had in a while. read more

Looking for a hide coffee shop? This is a good place to start. Coffee was good and delicious, first time trying their tiramisu cream top coffee, I order it with almond milk and my bestie tried their new matcha cream top. Both tasted sweet but evenly distributed with coffee. The barista made sure to make the coffees pretty and well made. We then tried their croissant club and their turkey and pesto sandwich. Sandwiches were delicious and a large portion. Great place to enjoy a nice coffee and catch up. Location is a small hole in the wall, but excellent coffee! read more

Meh - another mediocre, hyped up coffee joint popping up like an STD from the 90's in the Valley. Decent service and coffee/pastries, but not worth a $7 banana bread slice or a $9 iced coffee (we tried the Tiramisu, tasted like a basic, iced, overly sweetened latte from Sbux). The place was packed with kids cashing in their, "Fisher Price, my first job" paychecks, buying into the hype, but hey, it's working for them. I'd still say, support this place as it seems small and family owned and decide for yourself - I personally won't buy into the hype of paying what seems like at least a 150% markup for a coffee and pastry again. read more

4/5 I am impressed with service and quality of this place. They started slow and medium quality before but now it is much better than I expected. Matcha coffee was ok. Although I didn't taste the matcha I was looking for. It was more on the sweet. Parking is shared with other vendors in the center. When it is busy. Good luck in the street parking. Always on the lookout for new coffee shops, I found this place on TikTok and decided to give it a try. I ordered the Biscoff Latte (6/10). At first, I tasted more syrup than coffee, but I'll give it this--the flavor came through at the end. I'll be back to try a different drink. The person at the register wasn't the friendliest, but the other staff members were great. The shop was very clean and definitely had a nice vibe. read more

After receiving a response decided to come back here on Friday and give them another chance, spoke to Angel who was very nice and remade my drink and have to say it tasted a lot better. I also love how they are open really early, so it's one of the spots I can stop by prior to work. I also got to meet Ian, who was a pleasure and thank you once again. My boyfriend and I have been wanting to go this coffee place for a while! The inside was very cute and quaint and I really liked the plant decor! The service was quick and fast, and the staff were really kind and even gave us recommendations! We got the Banana Cream Top Matcha Latte and the Lucky Charms Matcha Latte! The banana matcha was delicious and the cream was so smooth and the banana was super apparent! It was definitely more of an artificial banana taste, but I love that and did not mind at all! The lucky charms matcha latte was decent, but I wish it was sweeter and had a more marshmellowy taste. I also feel like the milk was all I could taste at some points and not much of the matcha. Overall, solid spot for coffee! The parking for the plaza feels kind of tight and small just to let you know. read more

I went here to try the matcha cream top. I got it with oat milk and it wasn't my favorite. I wish the matcha taste was stronger because it mostly tasted very milky. There was a variety of coffee drinks so I would come back to try it. I also wanted to try the chocolate chip cookies that I heard was freshly baked but I guess I came too late because there were none left. The service was okay, it took them awhile to make my drink which was odd cause not one other person was ahead of me. I did like how spacious the place was with a lot of seating but parking spaces were so small. read more

first time here, and i am sure i'll be back again :) there is a good amount of parking in the lot which is a plus. i got the matcha cream top and thought it was delicious! definitely on par with other shops, and in my top 5 of the valley. this seems like the stronger matcha drink in comparison to some of the other photos i've seen from here. some indoor seating, but some tables outside as well if it hasn't gotten too hot yet. service was fast and friendly :) read more

Their coffee is so Flavorful. Their croissant sandwich with their house made sausage is delicious, fluffy egg and if you need to add a kick they have a Serrano sauce that takes it to the next level. I discovered this place one Saturday afternoon and am already planning my return. The menu listed a Cortado, and I ordered one. I hadn't even asked about the coffee cake -- or even known it existed. The gentleman at the counter told me they were out, but another one was baking if I cared to have a slice. Curious, I ordered one. With my Cortado -- an admirable balance of espresso and frothy cream -- I found a table. Soon, he came by to confirm I'd get my slice. A young lady followed, letting me know the cake wouldn't be ready for a while. I told her it was no problem; I had work to do. I opened my laptop and became so engrossed that I didn't hear my name called. Another lucky customer got that elusive coffee cake -- it vanishes the moment it hits the counter. Mario was the third person to check on me. He told me another batch was in the oven, but I was leaving soon. He apologized and offered any pastry on the house, particularly recommending the chocolate chip cookies he had baked himself. I accepted. When he set down the cookie, I asked if I could order an Americano. He returned with that as well, on the house. The cookie was huge, freshly baked, loaded with chocolate chips and just enough walnuts to stay out of the way of the gooey goodness. I broke off a piece -- soft, warm, the chocolate chips melting with every bite. You cannot have a better one. There was a steady stream of clientele representing the diversity of the neighborhood. The atmosphere is friendly, cheerful, and genuinely welcoming -- the neighborhood is enriched by it. Impressed does not begin to cover it -- the people, the Cortado, the cookie, a chocolate chip one at that. Buen provecho. read more

While we didn't actually successfully figure out the game (called Scout), I think this is more a flaw of the game or ourselves rather than the shop itself. I also really enjoyed the outdoor seating. I plan to come back sometime (hopefully soon) to explore more of their collection! As it stands, I recommend this place as a spot to stop in, order something light, and see what you can see of their games. Maybe some of their regular events will be up your alley!

The presentation was a nice surprise as I t came with a ladyfinger on top, which was a fun touch and made for a great little snack to dip into the coffee. One thing I really appreciated was that the drink wasn't overly sweet. Flavor-wise, I found it leaned more toward a rich, chocolate-forward coffee rather than a classic tiramisu. I think one of the defining flavors of tiramisu is the mascarpone, which is unfortunately something that many tiramisu lattes miss, and this drink was no exception. Instead, it delivers a deep, chocolatey coffee flavor that was still enjoyable. The service was quick and friendly. As soon as we got to the counter, we were offered a sample of their chocolate cookie, which was a thoughtful gesture and made us feel welcome. Today was my first time at Awkward Coffee and it did NOT disappoint. I came in after receiving a free food coupon and was pleasantly surprised when Hanna told me it applied to all food items. I ordered the breakfast croissant with avocado, which was excellent. Hanna also recommended the cinnamon roll and chocolate chip cookies and both were amazing. She helped me choose a drink since I'm very indecisive and we landed on the Brown Butter Toffee Nut Shaken Espresso with their house-made cream foam, which was hands down the best coffee I've had in this valley. I used to come to this coffee shop every chance I got on the weekends. It was one of my favorite spots. I moved away over a year ago, and when I came back to visit, I was surprised to see the entire staff had changed not a single familiar face. When we walked in, we weren't greeted, and the atmosphere felt unfriendly from the start. We ordered just two lattes, and it took over 20 minutes to get them, even though there were only two other customers waiting in the café. What disappointed me the most was seeing employees standing around chatting instead of making sure orders were coming out promptly. Customer service and efficiency used to be what made this place special, but unfortunately that wasn't my experience this time. Had potential but unfortunately too many baristas that have no idea what they're making I asked for two shots and milk and they tried re making it twice and it tasted so bad. I won't be back. I like lattes with interesting and rare ingredients, so this was right up my alley. We also had the Vietnamese Coffee, which was not as strong as we would have expected for a Viet Coffee. Still good, but quite muted. The Bacon Quiche was more of an egg omelette than a flaky delicate pastry, but that was okay. My plus one said it was more of an egg bite than a flaky pastry. Good for two to share, and the perfect choice for breakfast. The menu includes different kinds of toast, tuna melt, cheesecake bites, sizable muffins, and several kinds of quiche like tomato, mushroom, and the bacon. I love a good variety of quiche! Unfortunately, a few things made this experience less pleasant... 1) The barista could not answer what was in the bacon quiche. She said she'd need to call the owner to check and then made no attempt or offer to do so. I said I presume there's cheese and bacon, she said yeah, and I asked if there were any nuts - she wasn't sure. I still ordered it, but I do not recommend taking a gamble if you have any sort of allergy or limitation (at least, without the owner present to clarify). 2) Another customer came in for a tuna melt, which they didn't have. It wasn't even 10am yet... and there wasn't much foot traffic. She ended up leaving without ordering. If your interest is that specific, I suggest calling ahead to check before making the journey here. 3) I asked where the forks are and was pointed to a small station off to the side. I went over and ... no forks. I had to ask her again for them. Again, empty shop, not even 10am yet. All in all, a small business with something different to offer, but some room to grow and improve when it comes to service and ambiance. I'm less concerned about the price point, given it's a small business that offers ingredients you don't typically see elsewhere. Plenty of free parking in the lot, though I can imagine parking gets a bit trickier during peak traffic hours. Lastly, this is more of a grab and go spot. The seats aren't comfy and it's rather cramped. You can sit inside or out, though.

The pancakes however, were a different story, stacked high, great topping and very tasty. I'd definitely recommend that.
